I was planning to have lunch in L'usine. But when I was walking on Dong Khoi st, this place suddenly popped up on my mind, so I decided to explore new thing instead. I'm glad I did. Located in the heart of Saigon, in building opposite to Hotel Majestic and Maxim's. Cafe Co Ba has 2 levels, first floor and fifth floor (2nd and 6th if you're American ), the building has lift, so you don't have to walk upstairs. I picked the one on rooftop. The Co Ba rooftop cafe has vintage, nostalgic decoration of Saigon in golden era before 1975. The rooftop cafe has 2 floors/sections. So you can pick spot that you feel best for you. The music definitely not suitable for a place like this. Terrible music playlist. Although indoor has cool decoration but for safety during covid time and bad music, I went outdoor with riverside view. The view outdoor very nice, on the lower floor has terrace space with some green and good view, on the upper floor, outdoor seat is just narrow aisle with plank wood and stool. But it has great view of the Saigon River, very chill and breezy, so I'm not complain much. --- You have to order and pay at the counter first, then waiter will bring food and drink to you. My order for drinks took ok time 10 mins, but the the fried chicken it took 25 mins to serve to me. The waiter has apologised. Then later, they completely forgot my tiramisu. Has to come down and talked with the cashier. At least she admitted they forgot and apologise. Thing I dislike is I had to went downstairs to the counter to order more. - The female cashier very kind and friendly to me. When I am about to leave, she worries for me to leave in this thunderstorms with strong winds, said it better for me to stay till the rain stopped. (The cafe very crowded and lack of seats, so I thought I better leave after 2 hours for other customers to sit). Asked me if there's something wrong with the drinks and food. I like that she's smiling all the time when talking with me and making convos with customers. - I'm not impressed with the menu esp the drink menu. The drinks price is cheaper than Starbucks or L'usine, similar price point to those cafe places with good decors in downtown D1, D3. I ordered lemongrass peach tea and later I got Longan chia tea, 65,000 dong. The teas was not tastes as good as I expected them to be. Quite bland and artificial tastes for longan tea (5/10) and not the great peach tea in town either, only tiny slide of canned peach (6/10). Food menu is a bit pricey for some Vietnamese, cheap for Westerner or Asian tourists. I got myself crispy chicken with fried rice for 79,000 dong. The dish was tasty and chicken wasn't dry, well seasoning. 7/10 because small portion. I also got tiramisu for 45,000, but kind of disappointed with it. I think it's acceptable price especially for location on fancy schmancy Dong Khoi st. - I will come back again to the rooftop at night and will check the cafe co ba on 1st floor.

very decent spot for some viet food and to wind down amd relax i actually think this is a great spot if you are new to vietnam and not quite sure where to eat and worry about street food this place is nice and clean and holds good food safety standards, and their food represents the local viet flavours correctly! it is upstairs so those with disability requirements might find it difficult to reach here - its only a short flight of stairs for though hehe

Really cool place. The lunch options are surprisingly great considering it's a coffee shop. I will definitely come back

Located on 2nd floor. Must walk the stairs to get there. Great spot for a nice coffee break or meetup with family and friends. The decorations are vintage and old-fashioned. They have a lot of good drinks and foods. Lanai seatings are pretty chill and good for taking pictures.

Really tasty Vietnamese coffee. Tried both hot and iced, would say hot was better. Nice greenery and view from this place. Both inside and balcony seating.

Super cool cafe in the city. The interior decor takes you back in time with the soft music in the background providing extra peace in a busy city.

A nice cafe with cozy vibes. Food quality is so so. If only the waiter were a bit more friendly. He was not rude but he looked a bit annoyed and never stopped to check if you needed anything though it was not too busy the day I was there. I was afraid to approach him for help too. Nevertheless, I'm coming back because of their good design and cozy vibes :)

It's positive clean, cozy, friendly nearby. I enjoy jasmine milk tea, which has nicely scented and not too sweet. The dishes quite delectable.

It's a hidden gem of the city. The coffee located in an old building that will stunt you with by it's fusion interior style of the 70s and traditional countryside architechture. View are carefully arranged in the balcony area that can fit all selfie purposes. The rooftop is amazing, overlooking the vibrant live of CBD Saigon to the river and Thu Thiem Island on the other side. Food and drink quality is so so, not so expensive that make me think the cafeteria is rather a hobby of the owner than a profit oriented business. The cafeteria is adjacent to Jumbo-a famous Singaporean seafood restaurant, which is quite convenient right ?

A great crowded coffee and lunch spot with good variety of drinks and dishes to choose from. Taste is only okay for the prices, probably because of the location. Lots of great nooks to sit alone or with friends to enjoy the old Saigon vibes. They did a great job with the decorations and layout. The staff are friendly and attentive. Stop by if you happen to be in area, maybe be able to snap some instagramable pics.

Actually it was a challenge looking for a good cafe in Saigon. But with the help of our friend, we managed to find this place. It doesn't disappoint. The selection of food was great, but the best part was the environment and vibe of the cafe. It's very near to the Bach Dang Whaft and it is highly recommended place to visit whenever you're here in Saigon. 😁

Typical old-style Saigon restaurant. Cozy atmosphere. Nice servicing. Various choices of good Vietnamese family-style foods and drinks, but still fast serving.

Ordered Vietnamese milk coffee. Glass was full of ice and half filled with coffee so you can imagine how much coffee there was in the cup. See the photo (before taking a single sip).

Nice view on the terrace. Cool at night. it’s exotic interior inside. you can choose outside or inside. Note that there may not have seat available outside due to many people.

Such a nice place that put a lot of efforts in bringing back somewhat a vietnamese nostalgia. But unfortunately uses too much plastic, giving you plastic cup with plastic straw even when you're drinking at the place. I sat there for 10 mins, no employee bothered to come over for order, then I figured i had to order at the reception. Ordered the curry, was mediocre, so was the drink. Will not come back anyway but also boycott for too much plastic waste.

I just returned from Cafe Cô Ba - Đồng Khởi and had a fantastic experience. The coconut coffee was excellent, with a rich and refreshing flavor that I thoroughly enjoyed. The atmosphere of the cafe was beautiful, and the fact that it was air-conditioned added to the comfort. My wife loved her iced tea with jelly, which was a delightful and unique choice. The only challenge we encountered was finding the cafe itself, as it is located on the first floor of a non-descriptive building without clear signage. However, once we discovered it, we were delighted with our experience. Overall, it is centrally located and offers a wonderful ambiance, making it a great spot for a relaxing and enjoyable time.

Such a pretty old-style interior but sadly it’s all wasted on a very bad restaurant. We ordered eggs (they came terribly undone) with sides (horrible baguette, shame on you!) and sadly-looking veggies. Awful and much overpriced. The passion fruit juice was served in a plastic to-go cup even though we ate inside (they do it to everyone - a crime on the environment 😡🤬) and the whole place is so loud it’s hard to stand it. Stay away!

The place is quite huge and there is balcony seating. The place have a variety of drinks and to my surprise, considering it’s a cafe place. They have many food options for you to choose from. This place have that nostalgic old saigon. Overall it’s a great place to hang out with friends or family! Will be back!☺️

Serene surprise in HCMC. Old world furnishings. Romantic upbeat music, not loud. Food small portions and tasty. A getway from the hustle of the city.

A good coffee shop to remember to previous Saigon. Vintage decor, good view. Price is cheaper than other coffee shop like Starbuck or Trung Nguyen Legend. Quán view đẹp, thoáng đãng.

Weird, they have a waiter to bring you your order but he/she is incapable of taking order at the table. Work on your service. Venue is nice.

Super nice place, price a bit more than average but quality is here and food/drinks are good! :) You can eat in a traditional Vietnamese ambiance with some items coming from Vietnamese household (toys, TV letters etc.).

😐 You pay for the view, the photo ops. We went at 6:30pm on a Sunday, and they closed at 10pm. Somehow they were out of 95% of their food. So that kinda sucks. Drinks were decent.
