This site is a great destination for family or friends outdoor activity, a bit of a drive out of city center, lots of things to see and learn. You can really spend a good half day walk around and explore or follow some random groups with tour guides, though I am not sure if there are English-speaking tour guide available but you can ask. I enjoy how many trees and plants this place have preserved. Definitely a short fun and interesting trip, with lots of things to see, and try some of the local food too. And make sure to bring mosquito repellent!

Was okay to have seen it once. Walking through the tunnels and seeing how it was back then is impressive. But there is not much around it. The price, by the way, is 125,000 dong, tour guide is included but with moderate English and not much info, just leads you through the tunnels and explains every few meters what tigers or no idea. On the rest of the plant speaks as good as no one English. Caution at the shooting range, you may not hold the gun itself, is mounted in front, which takes the whole fun. Even with Google translate you do not get on here. A bit of a shame but well finally everyone must decide for themselves whether it is worth a full day with bus rides and in tunnel sightseeing. After the tunnel tour, you should explore the area yourself. There are far more places to see, but people usually wave it off and think that there are only the tunnels.

If you not comfortable to climb in a tight space try not to challenge. Although it's the best way to come to know how the Vietnamese were enduring during their difficult time. Once you entered the tunnel there's no way back. If you must then try the 10 meter but not 30 or 60 meters . You will feel like it's taking forever with duck walk in the tunnel.

The Cu Chi Tunnels offer a riveting journey into Vietnam's wartime history. These extensive underground passages, located near Ho Chi Minh City, provide a firsthand look at the resourcefulness of the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. Exploring the tunnels is both educational and eye-opening, offering insights into guerrilla warfare tactics and the resilience of the Vietnamese people. Visitors can crawl through narrow passages, see hidden trapdoors, and witness the ingenuity behind the underground network. The site is well-preserved, and informative guides enhance the experience, making the Cu Chi Tunnels a compelling destination for those seeking a deeper understanding of Vietnam's wartime legacy.

We had a great tourist guide so that was definitely a part of my high rating, but overall thw whole site was interesting with lots of things to do from crawling in the tunnel to shooting a gun. Would definitely recommend for a one day trip from Ho Chi Minh. 🔥

Words cannot describe the experience of visiting Cu Chi Tunnels where the Vietnam fought western oppressors for years. I had a very good guide who explained every step of the way what we were about to see. I could have gone into one of the tunnels but chose not to because of my claustrophobia. A lot of the old tunnels, traps, a military workshop, shoe shop etc are preserved to better experience the decades of war that took place there. I would strongly recommend a visit for anyone that has an appreciation for History. Just remember to carry a bottle of water as it can get pretty humid in the jungle.

This place is definitely worth checking out, there is so much history here. Entrance fee is decent for the amount of things that they have inside, as well as a free local guide that will take you around and explain everything to you. It was cool going through the tiny tunnels. Although be warned that there are bats, centipedes and small scorpions in the last tunnel because not many people choose to go through that one.

PSA: Bring Insect Repellant and Wear Comfortable Shoes! We came here early on a Thursday morning and we were the only ones here. For the first part of our tour, we had an English-speaking guide who showed us the various tunnels and structures that made up the complex. We were able to climb into (and down) the holes and crawl through the tunnels. Although they said that the tunnels had been expanded to accommodate tourists, I still felt like they were a bit tight and I couldn't do the last section because I was getting claustrophobic. The second part of the tour consisted of visiting a theatre for a re-enactment of the battle and then going through the re-installments of the village with a tour group. We had one guide and were joined by other tourists (about 20 people in all). We had to leave by noon so only spent about 2.5, 3 hours here but this could've easily been a full day excursion for history buffs. I believe there were also options to shoot rifles (which we had originally wanted to do), play paintball, go treetop trekking etc. but unfortunately we ran out of time. Highly recommended experience regardless!

Great visit to understand the history, complement to the Reunification Palace and War Remnants Museum. You definitely need the presence of a local guide to bring you around, as the area is military controlled and patrolled. Pay tickets at entry. You can try out the shooting guns for a separate fee.

One of the best places to visit in Ho Chi Minh. Here you will feel the real struggle of the soldiers and understand how they fought and survived. Exploring and understanding the tunnels and various traps is very educational and astonishing and it offers deep insights in how the Vietnamese soldiers fought. Tourists can go through the tunnels and can see hidden trapdoors. The site is very well preserved and exploring with a guide is highly recommended. The Vietnamese food at the restaurant was also good.

The Cu Chi tunnels are an amazing experience. You learn all about how the Vietnamese used a series of underground tunnels to operate during the American war and how they fought back. The tunnels, although very cosy, we’re really fun to crawl through. There are several exits so you can crawl any distance from 20m to around 160m and there is also the opportunity to try the shooting range. Be aware this is quite pricey. It’s about 60k per bullet and they wouldn’t let us buy less than 10 so we paid 600k. I would highly recommend booking onto a tour as you will get a lot of information from the guides that you may not learn otherwise. All in all this was a 10/10 experience for me.

A walk through the horrors of Vietnam War. A showcase on the intelligence, tenacity, hard work and resilience of the Vietnamese people. Guides are very informed and converse decently in English. Mosquito repellent is a must. Do bring a water bottle as well. Highlight of the tour is the live firing range. Adult Visitors would have to purchase bullets for a variety of rifles used in the war.

Incredible visit. A must for not only Ho Chi Minh, but for Vietnam. Thank you to Tinh who was our fantastic tour guide. Fascinating to hear about all the cunning ways the Vietnamese fought in the war. You can experience the tunnels yourself (if you’re brave enough!), witness all the types of traps and you can shoot guns too which is optional.

One of the best experience of Vietnam to visit the original tunnels. its history is fascinating. You can actually enter the tunnel, fire the real gun with real ammunition, know about its history. Must visit. I would suggest you to go in a smaller group of less than 10 people as will consume less time.

We went to the tunnels apart of a tour guide and it was a great experience! You get to see every aspect of the tunnels and how they were constructed and used in the war You get the opportunity to enter one of the original tunnels by either just crouching down into it or later on crawling up to 120m of narrow tunnels! It was a great experience and seeing the tunnels and traps first hand gives a new insight into how this war would’ve been There is also an on site shooting range where you can experience shooting a plethora of weapons, we did the AK47 and it was so fun! Would recommend this to anyone visiting Saigon as it is so worth it For anyone wondering we booked our trip through GetYourGuide and we chose Vietnam Adventure Tours JSC who were great with a very informative tour guide

It was a wonderful day. The tunnels were fantastic. The guides knowledge of the area was incredible. In addition, very friendly and accomodating. The Liberation Museum was interesting, unfortunately, didn't understand most it. However, it was really well done. The food at the restaurant was good and fairly well priced.

Very cool experience, tour guides had great English and were very informative. They let us know many cool facts about the war and the usage of the tunnels. If you are claustrophobic there are still a couple short tunnels you can go in that I didn’t find too bad. There are also traps that they show you and a few other interesting things.

A very informative and interesting place to visit. It's clever what the Vietnamese did during the war. You can try crawling through the tunnels here (there are short ones if you prefer it since the long ones might make you sweat a lot and make your muscles sore). Be careful when crawling through the tunnels as you might hit your head against the stones especially while exiting. There are also mannequins of Viet Cong soldiers that portray their lives during the war and several displays of the traps they used.

Good learning experience about the history of Vietnam and what it was like to live in the tunnels. A bit disorganised. It's not clear which group you should be with, or where to go sometimes. Don't get lost without a tour guide. It's a short tour. Just over an hour. You get to try tapioca at the end. Don't come with baggage. The tunnels are small and you'll have to carry them which is a nightmare. Would recommend to do once and expand your knowledge. Wear comfortable, easy to move in clothes. If you're feeling adventurous, you can crawl in the dark through the 19 metre tunnel with the narrowest space.

This is a really extraordinary experience. A must have for someone that visits Vietnam. You will enjoy and see all the tunnels that were made first during the resistance against the French and then against the American. The local guides are very good, the trip from Ho Chi Minh takes more or less one hour and the whole visit Costa about 90$. In total it will take one morning, but it's really worth it. You can also fire with some guns like AK-47

Important part of history when visiting Ho Chi Minh (Saigon)! Book a tour and take the easy ride out from the city and see the well arranged tour of the tunnels. You can learn about how they were made and used, as well as see them for yourself and walk/crawl through some. Facilities are of course available. Goes beyond just the tunnels and lets you learn about more than just the tunnels. Includes a gun range too if you want to shoot M16/AK47 and more, but completely voluntary. Well worth the visit.

The Cu Chi Tunnels are a must-visit historical site! The tour was informative, showcasing the resilience and ingenuity of the Vietnamese during the war. Guides were knowledgeable and passionate, sharing captivating stories about the tunnels' significance. Walking through the narrow passages gave a sense of awe and appreciation for the soldiers' courage. The site is well-preserved, with trapdoors, living areas, and hidden entrances intact. If you're interested in history or culture, the Cu Chi Tunnels should be at the top of your list. This place left a lasting impression, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vietnam.

When visiting here, you must wear comfortable shoes and clothes because there will be several tunnels that you can try if you want. When viewing the tunnel you have to take turns with another group of tourists. The sound of weapons sounds like it's still wartime. This is because a shooting range is provided for tourists who want to try shooting.

The tunnels themselves were very interesting, but the drive out there was painfully slow with traffic. Great experience to be able to walk through the tunnels with a local guide. It was so amazing to see that this important part of Vietnams history is being restored and preserved. This is a great place to come if you are a history buff or into your War memorabilia, as there were weapons, aircrafts and tanks on display. You also have the opportunity to shoot an AK47. The bullets cost $2.50 USD each.

This is very fun experience I’ve ever done in Vietnam. You will be Vietcong(?) when you visit here. The tour guide was really good at English, fun and informed a lot of information of Vietnam history. I can understand how Vietnam fight. Their tunnel is very well made and smart. I recommened you joining the tour group. You can be easy to find joining tour group, as you request hotel staff or tour centers. Because this place is far from Ben tan street, and the price of joining tour is cheaper than using Grab or Car.

I really thought this was a fantastic experience. The guides were very informative and gave a great tour of the place. I liked that the old traps and weapons were preserved for display and that there were dummies to aid visualisation. The fact that you can go inside the tunnels was really great and I like that they made them larger (for tourists). The shooting range was also a great addition and it allows you to do something unique (fire an AK-47).

If you want to get insight into the guerrilla during the Vietnam War, check out these tunnels in the Ho Chi Minh District. About an hour out of the main city, these tunnels are fascinating in the purpose they served during the war. You will get to squat walk through the tunnels and your thighs may burn the next day, but it's worthwhile.

Had a lot of fun checking out the Viet Cong tunnels from the French era of Viet Nam. Although reinforced and concreted for tourists, they seemed very authentic. Don't be nervous, there are lights, ventilation fans, easy access escapes, and guides in the tunnels keeping you from wandering down a dark hole. There are some souvenir places that seem reasonable and a place to eat, although our tour guide did not afford us time to stop. At the end, you can spend an extra 30 or 40 bucks shooting some military rifles. Great trip!

What a great experience to see how the vietnamese built and lived underground in tunnels, how they used the tunnels to move men and arms around the country. Take a guided tour (my guide was a veteran of the Vietnamese army) and let them tell you what it was like to live and fight during the war. You through the tunnels that they used to show you how they were built, i didn't fit to good. The tunnels are a very good museum, easy walking through the jungle on groomed paths,

Cu Chi Tunnel is a fun tour if your into war and history. It is amazing to learn how the soldiers fought during those times. The environment itself is fairly scary already and I can't imagine how hard it actually was during those moments the soldiers had to fight there. The tour guide was good, giving great examples and stories. You can even go shot a gun if your into that kind of thing. But its a good time killer if you don't have any other places in the city. Just an interesting little history moment.

This is a must do! When I visited the Cu Chi Tunnels I was 17 so didn't quite appreciate the sheer history and significance of the place I was visiting (I'm Australian btw). Even if that stuff goes right over your head, the amazing experience of squeezing your way through the pitch-black tunnels and firing an M14 is something you'll remember for the rest of your life - or at least I will.

Worth seeing. The grounds surrounding the area are beautiful as well. The guide within was friendly and shared a lot of information. No need to pay inflated prices by outside tour guides to get here or see the area. Simply take Bus #13 from Ho Chi Minh (bus station at the top of backpacker Street) for 80 cents. (USD). Get off at Cu Chi Station and hop on bus #29 which can drop you at Cu Chi Tunnel entrance. 25 cents... Just a little over a dollar to get here, and a dollar to return to Ho Chi Minh on bus #79, then bus 13 again at Cu Chi Station. Much better deal than the 75 dollars for a tour guide.

We were there early, so only us around. One should definitely visit this place in order to learnt how the Vietnamese survives. I am amazed by their talent (create their own man made bomb, slippers, having underground meeting, medical, etc rooms, cooking and so on…) do give a try to go through the tunnel. You can go and come out at any entrance 20,40,60 and 100 m tunnel. Bear in mind to wear good shoes, bring water and insects repellent. Overall 👍

I recently visited the Cu Chi Tunnels and had the pleasure of being guided by an excellent local guide. From the moment we met, it was clear that our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the tunnels and the surrounding area. His ability to bring the history of the tunnels to life was truly impressive. Throughout the tour, our guide provided us with great insights into the complex network of tunnels, and the tactics used by the Viet Cong during the war. He was patient and took the time to answer all of our questions, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend this local guide for anyone interested in visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels. His enthusiasm and knowledge made for an unforgettable experience and left us with a deeper appreciation for the history of the region.

Nice few hours spent. We recommend taking a grab from HCMC to the tunnels. Grab drivers usually wait outside and bring you back. It was faster and they give you a guide anyways with your ticket. It was slightly more expensive than booking a half day tour but we could do it at our own time instead of following tour timings.

Very eye opening experience to see first hand the conditions of the tunnels and the conviction of the fighters to live in them. Our tour guide’s grandfather fought in these very tunnels, and gave us very unique insights. This is a must visit if you’re interested in the Vietnam war. There’s also a shrine dedicated to local people who died fighting. Make sure to take your shoes off before entering.

I love the whole tour to the Cu Chi Tunnel from beginning til the end. You should join if you like the history of the war in Cu Chi, don’t mind a little bit of walking , and crawling if you were to challenge the more difficult tunnels. Do keep in mind you will probably get dirts on your knee or should or even body if you would like to go into the tunnel.

Really cool to see how small the tunnels are, a bit claustrophobic.. the English of our tour guide was not the best actually...but okay! He did his best ??..you get a bit of an image of how things worked in the war for these people.. at a certain point if you get closer to the coffee place you can hear gunfire which is really impressive?, you can fire AK's or M60.. this was not my style so I didn't but you can of you want? it was a really nice experience...must go to!

One of the many great trips that leave from Saigon. Do be wary of the long travel to the tunnels themselves. Go with a travel guide company and they will entertain you along the way as well. You need a guide to go to the tunnels as they can't have you wandering off with the many unexploded American bombs still in the area. It's a great experience, both historically and physically, as you will crawl inside the tunnels as well.

Interesting historic landmark of Vietnam’s war. You get to see how tunnels looked like during war and learn how Cu chi people managed to survive, and escape from bombs and American army. It’s quite a unique experience, recommended If you’re in Saigon for a couple of days. From the city, get the bus n13 to Cu chi bus station and then change to n79 - ask the driver you’re going to Ben Duoc for a less touristic tunnels experience.

We got lucky with the weather, it rained the day before but when we got there the ground was dry. Its nice a cool with the tall trees. There wasn’t any bugs or mosquitos. We joined a tour group and it was very educational. Very fun and good experience going through the small tunnels. It does get a bit humid, so bring a small fan. A proper walking shoes.

Amazing to explore Cu Chi tunnels. Video presentation was modest, but our guide was funny. Facilities are also modest - in keeping with the spartan history/story of the place. Overall, a great outing, even for kids.

  • 4/5 SLONooB 4 years ago on Google
Stay with your guide because there are a lot of groups at the site. Its a cool place to check out. You can also go in the tunnels that are bigger size for tourists (original 60x80cm). Shooting range is very very expensive. 60K for 1 bullet AK or M16 and you must buy at least 10. So about 24€. There are also guns from the war on display. About drive 1:30h from Ho Chi Minh city.

For a civilian, these are just underground tunnels. Majority will not understand the grit and the determination of the Viet Cong. They sacrificed their Life for the country and adopted this innovative way to fight. Present day world has a lot to learn.

A rich haven for people who enjoy studying and experiencing Vietnamese history! The place contain part of the original Cu Chi Tunnel Complex declared safe for tourists to visit. It got real war artifacts of tanks, planes and guns used in the conflict. It also have a firing rane with actual firearms for visitors to fire., just pay for the bullets sold by piece, free use of firearms.

(Translated by Google) Very interesting place! Insanity that then soldiers climbed around in it! However, the guidance in a large group is not very recommendable, since the stations are very fast one after the other and the guide is in a hurry. You therefore have very little time for photos or videos. At the end of the tour you were allowed to go to a shooting range, the weapon was allowed to choose. (More expensive, the bigger the weapon the more expensive per shot) (Original) Sehr interessanter Ort!

I do like this place but I went today.2/12/21. I was the only foreigner there. The guide bad mouth America the whole time. I don't agree with the war but I also don't agree with talking bad about America. I had nothing to do with the war and love Vietnam but this was not good and in bad taste. I noticed some Vietnamese in my group looking at me with angry looks. Vietnam won their independence from several countries. China, Japan, France, even Cambodia. American Gov't was to blame not the citizens.

I saw all tunnels and all activities! I did go in februari, so very good and enjoable weather. My compagnon was to scared to go True the tunnels, it is really small for big guys like us. I saw how they make Rice paper, how they cooked food without a smoketrail, how they where organized. You can also shoot the famous m60 machinegun. Spoiler allert! 40 euro's for 10 bullets, and the machine gun had no recoil becous it was in a fixed position. This is really for tourist Who like to say; Back in my Day, i was shooting the m60 in Vietnam. 👌 Also, but i am not 100% shure if it was the same place,.. but i was in some tunnels in Vietnam, close to a agent orange musea with tunnels, there was a Guide Who was born in the tunnels as a baby and was effected by agent orange,.. if you see him, we called him gollem but also give him a big tip. This guy was my best expierence! Pictures below! (Edit) we found gollem in the Vinh Moc tunnels, you should really visit this place to).

A good place to know how the Vietnamese soldiers fight during the war. It is better to have a tourist guide or a tour package going to Cu Chi Tunnel. Commonly, they have English speaking guides. Ps. Bring insect repellant, Cu Chi tunnel was inside a forest, there are many insects like mosquito in the area.

Highly recommend if you are in Saigon. Most people use tour operators to go there. Easy and cheap. But you have very limited time staying there. Full day or half day tour is available every day, rain or shine. The prices are varied by the operators.

  • 4/5 Fara A. 9 months ago on Google
Every visitor to HCM should at least go to this site once in their lifetime to understand and the Viet Cong’s point of view on what happened during the Vietnam War with the Americans. Our recommendation is to have a guide when you tour the site as the information given will be more detailed so you understand what you are looking at. You will be amazed to know they had a kitchen, a surgical room, a weapons factory inside the tunnel! Of course, the major attraction is the chance to go down the tiny manhole for photo and video op. You can also have the chance to go through the 200m tunnel (with an opening/surface every 20m) with a guide. But those who are claustrophobic and have heart issues should not attempt it at all as the tunnel is so tiny and can be quite stuffy if you panic. You can try your hands at shooting rifles that were used during the war. At the almost end of the tour trail, you can have a taste of boiled tapioca that was the staple of the Viets when the were in the tunnels.

Visiting Cứ Chi Tunnel was so interesting and gave me a whole new appreciation for Vietnamese ingenuity, persistence & endurance. We were on a private tour and Cứ Chi was one of our stops. Our guide was really knowledgeable which made the experience more impactful. The grounds are well maintained, it’s experiential & staff are friendly. This experience would be suitable for children and adults of any age. You don’t have to go down into the tunnels but it’s a cool experience if you’re up for it.

It was a nice tour with an amazing tour guide nam Thuyen, we got to learn more about Vietnam’s history, and all the amazing things that the Vietnamese people did to fight back against the war, my huge respect for them. Went inside the tunnels and it was a mind-blowing experience. I also got to try the shooting range and it was super worth it. Overall the trip was amazing and highly recommend you guys to try it yourself!

Our hotel organised a tour for us with a group totalling 25 people. Our tour guide was excellent, and his family had been involved in the war on both sides of the conflict. And it struck home with me that the vietnam American war still bares a direct impact on the lives of the Vietnamese people. The tunnels themselves were an amazing construction and it was great to have the experience of going through them. The different methods of survival for the Vietnamese in these very challenging conditions were highlighted, how they maintained their social structures, schooling, medicine, etc. Also the useof creative weaponry was interesting, how they through everything they had into surving and succeeding as best they could in the war. The one downside of cu chi tunnels was the noise by the restaurant area in the middle of the tour, due to its proximity to the shooting range, I could have done with a pair of ear plugs here.

Off cuff trip from HCM City cost 600k vnd taxi one way lol. Rocked up straight in and joined a tour. Very interesting and ill be honest if you are a cough we'll sized westerner and not good in tight spaces or very mobile squating and walking. You will struggle in the tunnels its very tight and I did a few of them and worth it to experience the ingenuity of the Cu Chi peoples determination to win. I didn't take part in the gun range but you can hear them rattling off rounds. There is an onsite restaurant also and the WC are all clean and enough refreshments available around the tour from fresh coconut water to bottles of water and drinks. Getting a taxi back was a challenge so if your doing an adhoc trip be prepared for a wait to get a pickup. We found another restaurant outside and had a meal while waiting. Yes cost return was another 600k. Not sure how it fairs with the a precooked trip. We paid aprox 250k entrance for two. I believe being a foreigner I paid more. !!!! Not too clever imo if you want tourists to come you need to pay the same as locals. Other than that a definitely worthy trip.

Good place to visit to discover and learn about the Cu Chi Tunnels during the Vietnam War era. Plenty of things to see. Advisable to spend about half a day to explore at a relax pace. Do try out the tunnel but dress in something comfortable so you can crawl easily in the tunnel.
