Behind the face of a gourmet restaurant that pretends to serve high end tasting menus actually lies an establishment that miserably fails at delivering high-end food. We ordered the five course and the seven courses menus to get the most variety out of their dishes and we were extremely disappointed by almost every dish. Simply put, the food was terrible but presented as gourmet. Don’t be fooled by the photos. Nothing that we tasted was worth the money nor the visit. The two stars are purely for the friendly service and attentiveness we received.

My family ate at the restaurant on the second floor, which was quite classy. The service was superb, staff were very attentive and really take care of you. They offer a 5 or 7 course tasting menu as well as a la carte. The first floor was a bumpin lounge, disappointed we couldn't check it out, it gave off good vibes. Pictured is falafel, duck, filet mignon, garlic bread (with cilantro spread)...and the last dish I forgot the name.

nice spot for some decent cocktails they also serve food but didnt try any food on this occasion its a very dark and atmospheric space with a live dj great for a catch up with your mates my only negative for this place is the allowance of cigarettes indoors. its all enclosed indoors and so any smoking just gets stuck inside, clothes and hair start smelling like smoke i understand its the standard across vietnam but for ppl who like me who cant stand cigarette smells then this is a spot you should avoid - there are plenty cocktail bars around where no one smokes

The place is really good, great atmosphere with stylish colors and mise en place. Maybe little bit retró. Food is high quality, served greatly and with nice and original mix of flavors. Wine cart maybe should be updated. Waiters service is what you expect in a place like this, caring, dish explanation and friendly. I had really good time and suggest to try this place if you are in Saigon (I come often to Saigon, but it was first time here). From outside you don't notice the restaurant, as on the ground floor is a club for music and good cocktails. Restaurant is at the first floor after you enter.

Fabulous experience. Food was great but the service was outstanding. The fellow serving us was fun and knowledgeable and really made the experience top-notch. Must try the nitrogen Frozen mini cheesecakes for dessert. Very fun.

I was going to give it 3.5 to 4 stars until the minuscule dessert took 15 minutes even though I ordered it early. Then I was going to give it 3 stars until the bill took 10 minutes to come. Durian Tiramisu was tiny and could be less sweet. Soft shell crab was decent though boring. I liked the green mango catfish. We both enjoyed the seafood spring rolls a lot. However my Vietnamese date found the flavours repetitive. We preferred Home Finest. Kitchen was very slow and service as well... Without good reason. Enjoyed the happy hour at the Lounge though, but the air conditioning was far too cold -- bring a coat.

We chose the four course tasting menu for our last night in Ho Chi Minh on our Honeymoon and were highly impressed. Excellent quality food, a story to accompany each course from the waiters as to the origins of the food and it’s ingredients, and great portion sizes - we were definitely full by the end and given the quantity of the dishes (13 in total) relieved that they were each a little smaller in size! We opted for cocktails to accompany our meal rather than wine as the cocktail menu was extensive, intriguing and reasonably priced. A great atmosphere both in the restaurant and downstairs lounge. What a great way to celebrate our final evening in this vibrant city.

This bar is right around the corner from Park Hyatt and Caravelle hotels. It’s super fun! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I didn’t have the full dinner upstairs but tried small bites downstairs which were very good. Go during happy hour - it’s 50% off all cocktails! On Wednesdays, ladies drink free all night👏

We opted for the 7 course degustation menu. The food was enjoyable and the desserts in particular were very good. All the tasting menus come in two options - one just with food and the other which includes free-flowing drinks. Generally speaking, for anyone who wants a bottle of wine (or equivalent) between two, it is better value is to go for the food-only option and to select your own beverages separately.

Good atmosphere but food was mediocre and perhaps even overpriced. The worst part is the tobacco smoking allowed in the establishment. It was overwhelming. By the time I got out of the venue, my whole shirt smelled of tobacco.

Restaurant is secondary to the loud Lounge, and too expensive for this quality level. First sign: walk through super loud Lounge to go upstairs to mercifully quiet Restaurant -- but still hear the beats like a Harley Davidson parked behind me, and I can actually *feel* the vibrations in my hands on the table; it is not possible to focus on the food, the "fine dining" experience. I was dining solo, and when seated I was one of only 5 people in the entire restaurant -- which was set up attractively with tables and candles for 75 or so; for most of my meal, I had the entire restaurant to myself! I sat at my empty table and waited... and waited: most fine dining places would offer an amuse and small drink to at least occupy the table and keep the diner entertained, not here. I got the top-flight 7-course dinner with matching wines (shucks, it was my b-day, why not?!). Courses were well-paced, well-sized, and well-executed, but not stunning -- something I would have expected at this price point. Yes, I'd like some sparkling water; oops, didn't realize it would add 70Kdong to the price. Sure, I'd like to wrap up with one more glass of that lovely late harvest wine; oops, another 170Kdong. Despite the menu stating "WITH FREE FLOW WINE, COCKTAILS, BEER & MIXED DRINKS". For about 3Mdong, you'd expect water and a drink, and I never saw a cocktail. I think the place has promise but it really needs to get serious about diners instead of deaf drinkers downstairs -- or close the restaurant and admit the Lounge is the cash-cow, and stop the pretensions of fine dining.

This is a Japanese hostess bar in Bin Thanh with amazing and beautiful girls. The reason why it is so great though is the transparency of the pricing. All the other hostess bars in Japantown across the river are never transparent and never honest. Here you know what you are paying for so no surprise

An excellent place to visit if in Saigon. They have a wonderful menu and a great set of staff who provide impeccable service. Great bar and over all ambience is awesome.

We ordered the 4 course discovery/tasting menu with wine option. Every course consists of 3 "bite size" dishes. Food was good, but not every bite was great. Pork belly was the best. Wine option is not worth it, just order a good bottle. Waiter was very friendly. Would just recommend to check your bill, we were overcharged. Menu (with wine) costs 1.700kd (900kd without wine), we were charged 1.900kd per person. Should have complained, but did not notice in time and did not want to make a fuss. And roughly 15% is added on top for tax and service.

XU Saigon is an amazing restaurant in Ho Chi Minh with a lively cocktail lounge downstairs. The restaurant is plush and stylish but without feeling pretentious and focuses on developing a menu that includes traditional and modern Vietnamese cuisine. The food and service were all fantastic!!

Great bar full of ex-pats. Service was great and we forgot our credit card there and they tried to find us when we left and gave it back to us the next day when we came back for it. Music was great too.

Excellent food and wine. Great service. We had the 5 course set menu with paired wine. Well worth it if you're after a special place to dine in Saigon. Try the lounge downstairs for a pre or post-dinner cocktail. Classy and stylish. We would definitely go back.

Came in at around 11 pm on a Saturday and it was like a club and not a lounge. You'll find yourself yelling at the person your trying to have a conversation with and nodding while not knowing what the hell they're saying because the music is on at full blast. Not my vibe, but to each their own.

All four of us went for the taster menu. The Tamarin Beef had way too much vinegar, the scallops were nicely cooked but the sauce very bland (you need something to contrast with scallops), the salmon was very average, the pork was very nice and the desert was no better than something from a chain coffee bar. I understand that taster menu portions are small, but we shouldn't have finished our meal still feeling hungry. The price was astronomical for Saigon, the service was functional and no more, the food very average and we all left the place so hungry we had to stop and buy more food on our way home.

The place is very nice, the ground floor is a lounge bar and the up level is a restaurant. The restaurant is focused on Vietnamese dishes, apart of the menu there is the option to choose complete menus where you will be able to try all or many of the delicious and sophisticated dishes the restaurant offers as well you are able to choose if you want to include the matching wines for the different dishes. The staff is friendly, English language is not a problem and the quality of food and drinks is very good. This is good place to go for a romantic dinner, business dinner or with friends after an excellent food is just perfect to go downstairs and continue the evening or night with some music and cocktails or drinks.

Staff is sweet. Food presentation is pretty good. Taste is ok, not bad, not amazing. Cocktails were a miss. Place smells like stale cigs because it allows smoking indoors. Skippable 🤷🏽‍♀️

We were so happy that we stumbled on this gem. The food, atmosphere and staff were all amazing.

The food is good but too expensive. Also service and taxes not included (plus 15%). Mineral water 4$, glass of wine 10$. Good service.

Gut environment & nice music Highly recommend if you’re in town
