👍👍 Came to this restaurant after watching somebody feed Phil. Food was delicious. The staff were great. The chef came out to talk me through the food, he mentioned they didn’t take credit cards and drove me to the local atm…. He wouldn’t take any tips after that either. The prawns and happy salad were... People often mention good, restaurant, salad, shrimp, ordered, Cajun, Vietnam, great, happy, service,

A small restaurant with some tables on the sidewalk just beside the canal, so very nice to have some drinks here in the cool weather. Food quality is remarkable, I like every dish I ordered here, the seasoning, the incredients, the freshness are all at good quality. Service is very good too. Most of the guests are very polite and gentle, unlike the other drinking place. Note: sometimes you may not get the table because it is quite limited.

It's really unique. What an achievement by Chef Tran. It was packed with locals. The food is truly unique. It's a little run down, but it has its own charm. The Happy Salad (what Phil ate in the show), really is worth ordering. Great oysters. And if you live in HCMC you just don't get Cajun food. Worth a visit. Try the lemongrass non-alcoholic drink with Kalamanzi.

Looking for a nhậu place on a Saturday evening we reserved a table at this place, specifically asking for a table on the sidewalk. Read the reviews and found consistent mentions of food quality and price points. Well, here are my thoughts: When we arrived a table was reserved with my name. Impressive. We felt welcomed. Thank you. We selected samples of dishes from appetizers, salads and main courses. And of course the Saigon Special bia..Lots of them, with ice, served by the Saigon Bia lady in red. Enough introduction already. The food was A+, another + for the presentation. A+ + = A++. The quantity was not overflowing but much more than bird portions. The service was spot on, and the một hai ba vô atmosphere just locked it up. Highly recommended. Will return. Recommend sautéed beef with French fries, squid salad and shrimp fried rice.

We had heard great things about this restaurant and we were so impressed! After reading that dinner gets super busy with the locals, we decided to have lunch here instead. We would recommend this option as we had our pick of the tables and the food came out really quickly. We ordered the chef signature dishes of Happy Salad which contained beef, garlic, pineapple, Vietnamese eggplant, kumquat, mint, lemongrass, passionfruit dressing and sesame seeds and the Cajun Shrimps with Garlic Butter Sauce plus also the Mexico Wonton to share. All the dishes were outstanding, leaving us with satisfied smiles on our faces due to just how delicious they were! The staff were really friendly in spite of there sometimes being a language barrier on both sides but the menu is in English and Vietnamese so you can point to the dishes you want to order. This restaurant was without a doubt one of our favourites in Vietnam (and we visited a lot!) so just make sure you visit with an empty stomach!

I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to dine at this place with local friends on my very first night in Ho Chi Minh City. The cuisine here is very authentic, featuring more herbal flavors compared to what I'm used to in Taiwan. The local Vietnamese beer is also really good; my friends and I accidentally ended up drinking 5 bottles! The restaurant is located by the river, and enjoying the riverside view while eating was absolutely delightful.

Came for a visit after watching Somebody Feed Phil. The restaurant was pretty busy the night I went, I'm assuming this was due to the exposure it got from the episode, but was able to land a seat outside, small green plastic chair. Ordered some of the salad that was featured on the episode, that had beef. I also ordered a shrimp curry dish and washed it all down with a beer. Overall,  the food, the vibe, the service was all good. I would definitely come here again.

I was quite surprised that the place wasn’t that clean. The owner chef is featured on Neflix and I wish she cared more about the cleanness of the restaurant. Generally price here was expensive, probably the most pricey one I’ve been in Vietnam for the last two weeks. But guess what? The food was amazing. Really good. So 4 stars out of 5

In my experience of living in Saigon for more than 1 year and constantly trying and enjoying local food - this is one of the best (maybe the best) restaurant I had a pleasure of dining in! Extremely surprised by this place!

Vietnam has some of the best food in the world, and this is some of the best food in Vietnam. Love the New Orleans influence and adaptation while still being authentic Vietnam. Had the happy salad - beef, eggplant, passion fruit, mint, lime rind, mint, banana flower, and pineapple - which was divine. The shrimp boil which brought New Orleans to mind but was better than any sauce you can get there. Grilled oysters were some of the best I’ve ever had. The fried rice was classic Vietnamese but the crispy potato and various caviar brought it to a higher level. If this place was in Seattle I’d be there all the time- inspired food.

Its a good place if u want to experience having food in a roadside restaurant in Vietnam at night. Its just beside the canal and road is not busy as other downtown HCMC roads. We tried seafood here which is not bad. But we find some meat in squid and snail curry which we did not like, because we wanted to taste true seafood. And another thing staffs here can't speak in english although they have english menu. So I recommend to visit here with locals.

We came here for the fame of the owner. It is sad that the food is not as good as it seems. The chefs are like the other street restaurants in the area, without masks and hats. They put tables on the pedestrian, which is typical the street food/ vendors along the riverside. However, the price is DOUBLE. I should have the courage to walk out because the food didn't deserve the price.

This place was unbelievable and is a must try. Very unique flavours in the combination of Cajun and Vietnamese. We had the curry crab, the Cajun shrimp, the happy salad and the special fried rice. We probably could have ordered less food because it was a bit much for 2 people. Everything was excellent. Make sure you ordered the bread to dip in the Cajun sauce after you are done with the shrimp. Worth the extra cents.

A street restaurant where you have low table, chair right on the sidewalk and river view too. It’s a nice place with good service. One of the waiter (or the owner?) can speak Japanese. Food quality is good too. Price is reasonable!

Service staff were super friendly and upfront about the waiting times and possible food quality. Location in comparison to most food establishments is pretty good. Alcohol was very affordable considering the location and service (the waiter/ress ensures you receive new ice regularly). Unfortunately, although two out of the four dishes we ordered tasted good (the vegetable dish was missing all of the leaves where as everywhere we have been to, the leaves were edible, tasty and present), we were sure that either the chicken and pork ribs were not fresh OR the oil that they used to cook them in (i ordered grilled ribs but pretty sure they were deep fried), was at least two days old.

The food used to be very good. But it was not as good last time. I guess the novelty is gone now and it's bit inconsistent. But I still like the place.

Reasonable food.. not much English spoken, but decent picture menu.. Dragon Sushi was good.. mellow location, young locals hang-out…

We had a great time here. The happy salad and shrimp with garlic were both great! The shrimp were delicious and came with some potatoes and corn (You do need to buy at least 300 grams). The happy salad surprised me and my wife with flavors and was her favorite thing she’s had in the city after 12 or so restaurants. Friendly helpful staff that speaks English well. Sidewalk seating next to the river.

Recommended by a friend and was not disappointed. Try the Cajun shrimp and oysters! Also the happy salad is very good and quite different ( ask them what it contains) The fish with green curry and tamarind sauce was a disappointment though, it’s big ( hence costs a lot since they charge by weight) and not flavorful enough. Overall a very good restaurant by the canal and service is quick and friendly

Fantastic food and prices! The Cajun Prawns are amazing, coupled with the rice dish (pictured below) was a great mix! The service was great and perfectly located next to the river where you can have a lovely walk after a generous feast. Highly recommend.

👍 I've been there 2 times. The First time Everything was perfect! 😠 It's a street full of pubs. That's about it. Blaring musics. Girls dancing on stage. Tourist. Not recommended. Too noisy. But what really put me off is the people...
