I went here recently for breakfast. There were two of us and we had the Big Breakfast and the American breakfast, both were great. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the place was comfortable with a good view of the street for people watching. My only criticism would be for the owners to invest in a real coffee machine, as the option of a cappuccino would have been perfect. However, that being said we will be back another time to enjoy the delicious breakfasts.

I visited Matilda's twice, and, on both occasions, ate western food (which appears to be their specialty). It's a quiet place in a quiet part of Vũng Tàu to chat, relax, have a meal, and a few drinks.

I don't know what to say, this time I chose grilled ocean tuna, it's amazing, the taste is fresh, the drink is also good, I choose 5 stars

My girlfriend had the Black Pepper Beef and that was also very good. But, to top everything off... My girlfriend left her ID at our hotel and we were in a rush, so the restaurant sent one of the security to the hotel to pick up her ID and deliver it so that we could enjoy our lunch. I love when businesses have attention to detail and customer service. Matilda's is one of those places. Highly recommended!!

It's an expat pub with simple food like sandwiches, fries, and no-frills breakfast. The only coffee they had was instant which was unfortunate. Both times I've visited I wasn't very impressed with food, atmosphere, or service. Overall, forgettable, but seems to be the local "Cheers" so they've been in business for a while.

Ms. Linh and the new Chefs are doing a consistent job in creating new cuisine items such as smoked goose breast, steak, ribs, Norwegian salmon as well as deserts. The traditional items are still popular favourites as well from the various breakfast selections, burgers and the colossal club sandwich. Matilda’s also has increased its selection of Vietnamese dishes. The laid back atmosphere with pleasant jazz is the ideal combination for your visit! The food and staff are the highlights of Matilda's. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in the year I've been in Vietnam. Unfortunately the regular patrons are not as enjoyable a sight. My wife felt it was a bit creepy that so many older men frequent it but obviously Matilda's needs to look after there bread and butter of regulars which I understand completely. I would not come back again though to be honest but it is a must as a stop for some good old fashioned home cooked food of you are visiting for a few days.

Seriously the best burger in town! Look no further on your search for some great food because Matilda’s offers it ALL! ❤️ tasty, incredible and all round awesome!

Matildas restaurant is very nice place and very nice food.The boss and all staffs here are very friendly with customers , they are always smile and welcome customers come to enjoy food and drink .Especial foods in restaurant are very fresh and delicious.

Decent western food options at a reasonable price. Service is prompt and the street is quiet. An overall decent option when wanting some familiar food options abroad. Recommend for breakfast/brunch.

Came in here for lunch and was very surprised with the menu. Wide selection specifically burgers. I went the Aussie burger and was satisfied. Good portion sizes - cold beer on tap and situation on nice little side street. Will be back!

The food here was alright. I ordered a burger with specifications and it came not as ordered, but I ate it anyway and it was nice enough, maybe the meat had a bit too much onion mixed in as it was a little soggy. My partner ordered the chicken parm and said it was nice mostly but some of the chicken wasn’t the nicest texture, the pasta/salad that came with this was nice though, and the chips with the burger were delicious, like British home chips.

are these 5 star reviews paid? i came here after hearing great reviews but boy was i dissatisfied . i saw few tables with customers when i arrived most only drank beer very few ordered food i have driven by this place many times never seen the restaurant with full of customers usually it’s empty . but i gave it a try we ordered the matilda burger , bbq ribs , buffalo wings , seafood fried rice. the burger was dry and had no special sauce or anything why name a burger matilda burger when all it was bun, bread , beef patties and bacon . not flavorful or anything special no sauce at all . the fried rice was plain . the buffalo wings tasted like most buffaloes wings . then comes the bbq ribs it was so dry and tastes worst then my home bbq cooking. mind you i can not cook good . it tastes like they just added salt and pepper then added heinz bbq sauce as their secret sauce . i told the waitress the bbq ribs were bad and dry . she just took my food and said she well tell the cook about it but didnt offer to change my ribs or anything. i will never comeback here again

Lovely staff but the grilled sea bass wasn’t good :-( felt like a Chinese fried fish instead of a grilled sea bass. Side veggies were good though. Probably their dishes are better :)

Came here twice on our 4 day trip. The food was super tasty, best chicken pie with mash I've had (inclusive of australia)! Wonderful bar staff, owner and patrons (Anders was awesome). Great prices too with sport playing.

Matilda's has the most extensive vegetarian menu in Vung Tau, without going to a vegetarian only restaurant. It has been surprisingly difficult to find vegetarian options in the plethora of restaurants aimed at the many foreigners here. Not only were there lots of veggie options but they helpfully consolidated all the vegetarian options in a vegetarian section of the menu. There was even a vegetarian special on the specials board (which was delicious) - a creamy eggplant, mushroom and pesto spaghetti 🤤. Everyone working at the restaurant was lovely and the service was great. The stubby holders to keep your beer cool were a nice touch too. The chicken parmy was apparently good too 🙂

My wife and I have been here several times for breakfast and it has been excellent every time. The western style fried breakfast and eggs Benedict are spot on, Asian dishes are delicious as well, wonton soup especially delicious. Very reasonable pricing and huge portion sizes. Friendly and attentive staff. Would highly recommend.

WOW what can i say we landed in Vung Tau and did not know anything about the area, however had been told about Matildas ( an Austaralian x/pat owened bar and restaurant) We as a group found the bar to be everything we expected a lot of friendly faces and willing to help and accomadate our needs, close to the beach, shops and much more, I highly recommend putting this on your Vung Tau trip
