I had eaten here twice on my trip so I figured I would leave a review. The other positive reviews about their food are correct. It is good and typical of Vietnamese family style dinner, only if you want it. I came here by myself and shocked them by ordering double the amount of food. Why? It’s that good. I had the morning glory, catfish in clay pot and vegetable soup with shredded pieces of shrimp. Service was great!

Best Vietnamese food in 3 weeks in country. No menu here you eat what they bring you. All I can say is WOW. All was fantastic. Very fun ambiance people from all over the world wrote their comment or message on the wall. If you eat here you will remember forever .The location at the end of a quiet alley of Ho Chi Minh adds to the charm.

Three of us came to Cyclo Resto (Vietnamese Cuisine Restaurant) for lunch, whilst travelling in Ho Chi Minh. They delivered excellent service and treated us like royals. We felt very welcome, and the waitress was patient when taking our food order. We chose a range of dishes, including the Vietnamese pancake, morning glory, fried prawn spring rolls, lemongrass chicken and rice. For those interested, you can also ask to write a message and your name on the wall. It is marked with people from all over the world raving about their experience at Cyclo, including ours! Thank you Cyclo Resto for the delicious food and incredible hospitality.

Had a great time at this cooking class. And like the name suggests, they bring you in in a Cyclo. We made the ban xeo (rice pancake with meat and shrimp), stir fried pork ribs with lemongrass, spring rolls and morning glory with garlic. Took away some great tips from Chef Vu. Overall I’d recommend it. But due to Têt holiday, the wet markets were closed so we didn’t have a holistic experience. And still waiting for the recipes 🤷‍♂️

It's a nice restaurant in the middle of Ho Chi Minh city. We ordered the fish clay pot and the pork ribs clay pot with white rice. Both dishes were delicious, albeit a little on the salty side. It may just be the type of cuisine that we are unfamiliar with. I really appreciated the tart orange slices they served after the meal. It helped balance out the flavours.

Walked randomly into this restaurant and decided to give it a go since the reviews were good. And I am glad we did try it! Had their set lunch of 5 dishes and didn’t cost us a lot. Each dish has their own unique flavor of Vietnamese cuisine. When I thought I was done and went to make payment I was told we still have a ‘last dish’. Which was their traditional Vietnamese coffee with egg yoke inside. Pleasantly surprised. Will come back again!

Here you will be able to try an authentic Vietnamese food. It seemed quite popular among tourists especially for group tourists. I tried stewed tofu, it was a bit spicy and the flavor of ginger was so good. Each potion wasn’t big, so if you are hungry, you should try a course menu.

We ordered the family meal for 180,000 per person. Every dish was cooked exceptionally well. I enjoyed the spring rolls (which are more like croquettes), the pork with veggies, and the perfectly balanced soup. The fish and lemongrass chicken isn't what I would usually order but they were cooked very well. I can imagine lovers of vietnamese cuisine would enjoy the flavours more than I did. The meal felt exactly like what we needed after days of very rich food. A homely, hearty meal. Unfortunately I feel like elements of the service let this place down. Vee (who first greeted us) was great. She explained the menu and came to check on us as we ate, and tourists will be glad to know she speaks great English. The other servers weren't so good. They needed a lot of guidance and encouragrment from Vee to clear up tables, serve food and even get the coffee started. We also had to move seats because of the ants on the wall and tables on the left side of the restaurant. I know there's not much they can do to control this in Vietnam, but I can't exactly give this place a 5 star only for you to go and expect a perfect experience when there are ants to contend with. Overall we enjoyed our visit and highly recommend anyone to go there, despite the improvements they can make.

Great local experience. The food it’s quite good but for our taste the chicken had too much turmeric. The pork was awesome and the egg coffee it’s a must here. Highly recommended!

I had the deep-fried pumpkin flowers stuffed with meat and they were delicious! The meat+herbs wrapped around lemon grass were good too. The vibe is cute, you can leave messages on the walls 🩷

Yummy food and great service. Walked in based on recommdations from the Google review community. Food was delicious with the perfect portion size and pleasant staff. Those spring rolls were french kiss~needwd more of those . We also had the chicken with lemongrass and simmered pork ribs (my personal fave). The young lady who served us did well in attending and taking our orders. Food came quickly and we even got to write on the wall. Thank you again for having us!

Has a lovely lunch at here. Pork is nice and I felt not enough hence ordered morning glory for myself again. They do provide fruit as desserts for free. As they make extra egg coffee and they give me a try for free! Thank you so much!

Such a nice and friendly cooking class. We had a lot of fun here. The meal was very good and a lot. And the coffee is creamy and sweet. I really loved it. It's a restaurant with a cooking class. You can book via airbnb. We even went to market bevor. Out was much fun.

Lovely, small and quiet place with great staff and very friendly. There are 4 options of set menus to chose from and you can switch some of the meals if you wish. The food was amazing and the meal ends with the special egg coffee. Authentic Vietnamese food!

Lovely restaurant in a smaller hidden street in the center of HCMC. The restaurant offers a set menu which consists of 6-7 different plates. However, as we were not that hungry we chose only 3 out of those. The taste was really good and especially the chicken with lemongrass was one of the best we tried in Vietnam. Overall good choice for authentic Vietnamese food.

Vietnamese homecooked food. My personal opinion, it's kind of tweaked a little to cater for foreigner's taste. It's pretty good, just not as authentic as actual local food.

  • 5/5 Gustaf R. 6 years ago on Google
Cyclo Resto was one of the highlights, of our time in Vietnam and HCMC in particular. You should know what to expect, because it might not suit everyone. It's a set 5 course menu (with simple but delicious dishes), and a very simple venue (see the photos). The staff was kind and happy to explain, service was quick but not rushed and I'll remember the food long after I leave Vietnam. Don't come expecting a luxury restaurant and you'll leave very happy.

This is a great little Vietnamese restaurant tucked away in a quiet dead end street. They serve country style dishes to give it a family like experience. The food quality is excellent and the prices are very reasonable at 380k for people with drinks. Definitely stop by for lunch or dinner if you have the opportunity!

Great place with a 4 options fixed menu that gives you the opportunity to try 3-4 different dishes. The food was great and the atmosphere very cozy for travellers. We loved the stew pork and the lemongrass chicken but the coffee at the end was a nice surprise!!

Lovely, friendly staff and absolutely delicious food and Vietnamese egg coffee! Just reopened after years of pandemic hardship, and I’m glad we found this place for our short stay in Ho Chi Minh!

Had a really nice dinner here whilst staying in ho Chi Minh. Got the family style meal for 180000 dong which was recommended. For that you got 5 different dishes, particularly enjoyed the spring rolls at the start but they all were good in their own ways. Host was also lovely and very attentive.

Authentic and delicious! Hosts are Vietnamese, and speak English very well. Menu written in English as well. Food is authentic and delicious! Get their set dinner, or choose from the menu. We ordered 2 dishes per person, plus rice. Egg coffee was really yummy. Prices are very reasonable. They are working on renovating their space, but are still open and can accommodate you. An excellent final dinner for us in Vietnam.

Lovely little family restaurant, owner first talked us through the history of the restaurant and some of the dishes they do. Dishes are made fresh and the menu lists the ingredients and recipe for each dish. Food was excellent and very fairly priced. Egg coffee at the end was very tasty! Would recommend

Small and quiet place with friendly staff that speak English. Restaurant owner is very friendly and chatty. Menu is in English, food is fresh and tasty with very reasonable prices (70-80k/dish) and you even get a complementary egg coffee at the end.

Cyclo Resto was AMAZING. I am Vietnamese, and my parents are from Saigon. The food at Cyclo reminded me of home. Authentic, delicious, and warming Vietnamese food. A MUST try. You eat a family style dinner of fried spring rolls, green squash soup, sautéed green beans with a yummy sauce, catfish in a clay pot, lemongrass chicken, rice, Vietnamese crepes, and egg coffee for desert. The price for food was 160k per person so it’s an amazing deal. All the staff was super sweet and friendly :) Also if you come here you get to write something on the wall! Come check out Cyclo!

Nice food with great customer service! Ordered the set and the staff explained in English on the individual dish, just so we know what we are eating. They serve the coriander on the side instead of putting them on the shares dishes, after knowing that one of us do not take coriander.
