The decor appears up-market with an outdoor, casual area and an indoor bar and dining section with a more formal feel. The menu is concise but adequate choices. Lunchtime specials and 30% discounts on a selection of drinks and snacks from 3:30-7:30pm are attractions. Food was well presented and met taste expectations. Unfortunately the service was amateurish and reactive and spoilt the dining experience - no welcome or introductions, if we wanted anything we had to call for attention and once served we were "ignored". Dessert was not offered even after we called for the bill. I suggest the young waiters be better coached and it will be a strong 4 star restaurant!

its hard to do french cuisine wrong.. well actually french cuisine can be quite complex but its rare to find a bad spot! and so the refinery continues the tradition with its fine French cuisine, slotted into the alley section of 74 Hai Ba Trung street, amongst the other good quality restaurant too food is kept with good food hygiene standards. well plated. tasty food. the interior is on the darker and intimate side of things. a moreso classy atmosphere

An outstanding and affordable restaurant with family vibe for who is looking for fine food experience with a medium budget. This place really made me miss the restaurant I worked in Canada. The food is more about traditional european so maybe you won't be surprised. However their quality, their finest, their freshness are impressed. You can really feel every vegetables they used in the stock of their soup (we have a carrot soup and pumpkin soup), the pumpkin is remarkable, nothing fancy but really tasty. The homemade fettuccine is perfect, the thickness, the length,...are spot-on. I realized that the flavor of everything is already adjusted to fit with both the foreigner and the local people which is great also, not many place can do that successfully. The service is simply the best service I ever experienced in Vietnam. The waiters will keep their eyes on you every minute to make sure everything is okay, even when you stop eating for too long. Totally, I will comeback to this place if I have a chance. This place will give you the best experience ever in a restaurant, way better than the famous brand and chain restaurants we already knew in Saigon. By far, one of the best restaurants in Saigon. Classic French bistro in the heart of Asia. A wonderful collection of bistro classics, many with a subtle Vietnamese twist. Great wine list, superb cocktails and friendly yet truly professional service. Big shout out to the manager, such a lovely, knowledgeable gentleman. This is a must visit!

This place is in a place where they have a few other places to eat and it has outdoor seating and indoor seating as well. Romantic atmosphere with low lighting... A delicious Italian menu and food was great !!!

Food was amazing, service was.... Non-existent. We saw our server 3 times. Order, brought food, and bill payments. They are lovely, but just didn't show up to our table much. The atmosphere and location is great. In the heart of District 1, and it's a really cool corner with 4-5 different diners within the same complex/garden. It is a bit dark in the restaurant, but definitely not a bad place for food.

Still after many years very very good . Value for money , food quality food , nice ambience , location and selection of foods. First visited this restaurant in 2015- still the same quality 7 years a later . Although I do hope that they bring the chicken liver salad back !

My fiancé and I had the most wonderful dining experience here and would call BS to all the negative reviews we read out here. The restaurant wasn’t too busy when we arrive at 7.30pm. The manager, Monsieur Khiam was courteous and got us the best seat in the house. The seat is facing the bar and easily for us to look at the daily specials on the whiteboard right beside us. The appetizer and wine pairing was served quickly to us and the servers were consistently checking on us if we needed anything. At the end of our meal, we were recommended to try their crepe which was presented to us live. It was a delight watching Khiam showing off his skills. We had the opportunity to try 2 different vodka shots fermented by Khiam himself for 2 weeks or more. I suppose, if you ask nicely, you can have a sample otherwise go ahead and ask for the manager’s pineapple cocktail. You will see a picture of the passionate Khiam explaining about his homemade drink and a picture of my fiancé and I taken by the bar. We had the pleasure learning more of the restaurant’s rich history by the owner, Noelle herself too and she was kind enough to give us some nice postcards of The Refinery as memory. In summary, food was excellent. And the hosts were the best. Pricing wise it was very fairly priced too!!

Ambient was good, but with mosquito. Service - I guess it is due to recovery from pandemic, waiter and waitress are not well trained. With their restaurant status, the company should provide better training to the young employee. Food is really at average.

The value of money vs the quality is just right. I just wish that they serve the bread with olive oil with vinaigrette dressing.

Nice french bistro with great food. Our favorite was lentil avocado salad with grilled calamari and roasted seabass gremolata. Quite busy during lunch time (they do have set lunch with reasonable price). Love the atmosphere, good for brunch

Nice place for couple dating. The food was ok, nothing special. However, the duck was the highlight with orange sauce. Staff was friendly and helpful but need some more training. Overview it was a relax dine-in place in the centre of the city.

Outstanding dinner at The Refinery restaurant. We dined on 23/12 and arrived at the restaurant earlier than my booked timing for dinner. The manager was kind enough to offer us a table despite arriving early for our reservation. We took full advantage of the happy hour promotion and ordered several cocktails and beers before ordering dinner. The cocktails were excellent, although a little pricey compared to other bars around Ho Chi Minh. The food was also great. We sampled several dishes including pastas and the steak. The steak was superb and well cooked exactly how I requested for it: Medium. I also want to thank the waiters that took care of us during our meal. Although they did not speak English very well, they had a very good sense of reasoning and hence, they could understand our requests very easily. Props to the management for training the staff very well. I will surely return when I'm back in Ho Chi Minh.

A cozy space is located in the alley 74 Hai Ba Trung, quiet area. The space of the restaurant at night is quite dark, chill and soft. The food is good, I have visited here a few times, but the dish every time I have ordered still couldn’t make me completely satisfied, the beef steak is requested medium but it was overcooked. It's better to serve each dish one by one, also the dining table is quite small. Suitable for couples going to date 🥰

Came here for dinner. We had chicken, fillet mignon, sweet heart cocktail and tiramisu. Very good quality and reasonable price. Should have taken photos of the food but i forgot. Nice staff member who offered me a salad because i did not want mashed potato.

Such a lovely restaurant and bar hidden away. It's behind the Opera House but you need to go through a small archway to a courtyard (see photo). There's an air conditioned restaurant and covered patio cafe. The decor is very European. Take away the Asian staff and you could be in any ancient city in northern Europe. The service is impeccable and atmosphere gorgous.

Did some search and found this French cuisine at Ho Chi Minh. The location of the restaurant was previously an opium factory (if my research doesn't fail me) and does feel quite historical. The service is good. However is food is average to me. We had a 3-course set lunch, a traditional steak and 2 drinks, cost 903 thousand VND.

I've been to The Refinery contless times for our anniversary. The atmosphere is unique, food is delicious and service is always on point. Recommended!

It's more like Western food than French. Food is ok, affordable price. Everything is standard but the environment is very nice. The black risotto was disappointing

Had a great dinner here. Apparently it is a very popular restaurant among foreigners/ tourists. The quality of food is great and the price is reasonable. Accept credit card if you do not have enough cash.

Amazing food. Highly recommend stopping fpr lunch or dinner and you must try the Passionfruit Martini. Slightly tucked away down a small ally that opens to a courtyard of restaurants and bars. Absolutely beautiful interior and such a historic building. Food was fantastic and the cocktails...WOW!!! We will definitely visit when we get get to lHo Chi Min City again.

What an amazing experience...great location and superb ambiance, good food and very nice cocktail choices. The service was outstandingly good and fast. Pet friendly outdoor setup. We had forgot our doggos water bottle at home and staff was very nice enough to organize a pet bowl of water. Best to reserve a table since after 8pm it starts to get crowded. Will be visiting again soon.

Must must come by and have their chocolate pudding! Similar texture to brownie. Warm base with icy vanilla ice cream on top that somehow makes it more tasty. Super chocolaty with rich flavor(but not to sweet). Pls try this one if u need dessert energy. I believe that I will be back to Refinery soon!!!

It’s the beautiful French restaurant. I ordered one lunch set. The lunch set have bread, soup, main course, coffee and dessert. Except for main course all the dishes tastes good. The main course that I ordered is pork with green beans. It tastes too salty. Maybe other main course could be better.
