A
friend
recommended
this
as
a
great
place
to
stay
for
their
wedding,
and
they
weren't
wrong.
Conveniently
located
near
numerous
tourist
sites
and
plenty
of
food
and
nightlife
options,
you
won't
run
out
of
things
to
do
staying
here.
Our
room,
in
the
newer
24
story
Opera
wing,
provided
a
beautiful
view
of
the
Opera
House
and
city
skyline.
All
the
amenities
one
would
expect
in
a
true
five
star
hotel
were
present,
including
spacious
marble
bathroom
with
separately
enclosed
toilet
and
shower
areas.
Common
areas
of
the
hotel,
such
as
the
surprisingly
quiet
outdoor
pool
and
full
service
spa
on
the
7th
floor,
were
well
appointed.
The
breakfast
buffet
was
varied
and
filling,
though
I'd
recommend
trying
some
street
food
for
breakfast
occasionally,
if
you
have
the
time.
Service
was,
in
our
experience,
quite
good.
This
was
particularly
helpful
when
we
needed
a
place
to
leave
some
of
our
heavier
luggage
while
we
traveled
to
other
parts
of
Vietnam
for
several
days.
The
staff
at
the
front
desk
agreed
to
store
the
bags
for
us
at
no
additional
charge.
One
other
interesting
aspect
of
this
hotel
(opened
in
1959),
for
a
history
nerd
like
me,
was
its
historical
significance
as
a
meeting
place
for
foreign
correspondents
during
the
war.
Supposedly,
the
décor
of
Saigon
Saigon
Rooftop
Bar,
located
in
the
'Heritage
Wing,'
remains
largely
unchanged
since
those
days.
With
their
selection
of
classic
and
modern
cocktails,
as
well
as
local
craft
beer
on
tap,
it's
worth
a
visit.
