I enjoyed my visit to this eatery and had some tasty dishes hailed from Hue in Central Vietnam for the first time. Most of the items in the pictorial menu looked very tempting. I finally decided on three dishes, a generous order, considering I was dining alone. The mustard leaf rolls were a refreshing and crunchy choice to start with. The sauteed baby clams with crispy rice paper was an incredible palate explosion. The sweetness of the clams, when paired with the crispbread-like rice paper, was an instant hit with me. The crab paste noodle soup was nice but not especially outstanding. The restaurant ambience was cosy until one made a trip to its toilet. Due to space constraints, the kitchen shared a common space with the toilet. The kitchen crew was literally preparing food ingredients on the floor directly outside the toilet. It was an unsightly scene of dubious food hygiene practice. If I had not seen this, I might return to try more of their dishes.

Nice little place for Hue dishes in the city center. Love the stirfried baby clam with rice cracker, my favourite!

Nice place in the small food court behind Ben thanh market mainly for tourists and expats. Vietnamese Foods are ok, not very good. Wide diverse of dishes of northern to southern Vietnam . Prices are reasonable. Service is fast. Place is small and dense and a bit noisy

Is a solid bun bo hue restaurant which is well tucked away, if you’re walking between nail salons/foot massage places then you’re on the right track to the restaurant. Would say this is probably one of the better bun bo in district 1...if you’re staying in district 1 and have a bun bo craving then I recommend you give it a go. The place is clean and off away from the street.

Great out of the way locals restaurant. Not real vegan friendly but we worked out a dish that would work with the help of a native speaker (which really wasn’t necessary as the staff spoke English). Not a bunch of seating but enough for when we arrived. The food was great. The place was tucked down an alley which gave it great charm. Open air facility so no appreciable AC. The atmosphere made up for it. 👍🏻

Delicious Bun Bo Hue with great flavor. Tried the baby clams but I didn't really enjoy it, a bit on the saltier end. Both dishes came out to 113,000 vnd or about $4.80.

Visited 16/01/2024 Humid Tuesday Evening. The following sharing are based on our unbiased personal opinion and experience. Had this many years back before covid. Now we are back again to Vietnam 🇻🇳 HCMC to try out their food again. Food was nice. Standard more or less maintained but I can’t say the same for their service. Service staff not friendly at all and always in a rush to clear our cutlery even before we finish our food. Overall a 3 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

I have been a regular customer at this restaurant for a long time and have always enjoyed their Hue cuisine. So, naturally, I brought my family and friends from overseas to experience the unique location and atmosphere of this place. However, during my recent visit, I was disappointed to see that the quality of the food is not up to the standard it used to be. The Bun Bo Hue, for instance, was so bland and tasteless that it was hard to finish. The sticky rice cakes were also lacking in flavor and quantity, which was very disappointing. I'm not sure if the restaurant has adjusted its flavors to suit tourists' taste buds, but this decision has cost them the authenticity that once set them apart. Furthermore, the restaurant is relatively expensive, making it a poor value for the quality of food. If you are looking for authentic Hue cuisine, I recommend looking elsewhere as this restaurant can no longer provide an authentic and satisfying experience. As a longtime patron, I am sad to have to cross it off my favorite list.

Delicious bun bo hue. Fast service. Have to go down an alley and there are a few restaurants there.

I had the crab paste soup noodles, taste is ok. It's not bad for the rice roll as well, the sauce is special to me, it has mixture of peanuts and minced pork meat. A comfortable place for meal even though the restaurant is full throughout our meal. No complaint for the food. Recommended when you want to have a taste of local food.

Old kingdom style of Vietnam food ( centre Vietnam ) Since 1995. Located near Bhen Than Market. They served many kind of small platter food with good quality and tasty. You have to pass the manicure and pedicure stores in the alley, then you will find this authentic food restaurant. Worth to try.

My mom was amazed by this store 5years ago. After us returning this year it has dwindled in quality. Soup was “bland and not like the traditional ways” mom. I had the grilled pork with rice. Also very bland and the pork was tough hard to chew. At least the dessert was pretty good.

I would like to recommend the hue spicy beef noodle soup (Beef shank, pork paste, crab paste & pork leg) is delicious.

Very delicious food in HCMC, Vietnam. Friendly price and many kind of local food to choose from. A litle crowded when evening comes.

Tried the bun cha cua 68k vnd and grilled pork rolls 48k vnd. Overall everything was solid, the soup wasn’t too salty, the pork rolls were tasty. The crab paste had small pieces of shell in it so it is real crab. Overall a solid 4/5

The food was good but the two missing stars are for the customer service. We were having dinner and it was half past 8 or something like that, a male waiter (probably manager too?!) informed us that the restaurant closed at 9. I asked if we could still make the last order, he said OK. We were also talking and looking at the menu at the same time but as soon as we put the menu down, he came to clear it, we had to ask for it again. While we were waiting for the order to come, he cleared out the clean serving utensils and all the sauces, I requested to have them back. He even rolled the door down a bit as a signal of closing. And that just kept happening the whole last 30 minutes, him clearing up what we’d need and us asking for it. I understand that he would like to be efficient and leave work as soon as possible but customers were still eating…

Knew I came to right place when I see many locals coming in as I ate. Food is nice, seems authentic but the meat a bit tough. Service though not rude but not quite foreigner oriented.

Tasty Bun Bo Hue soup. Meat was slightly tough. The steamed rice flour cakes were good! Special standout was the dessert - grounded green bean sweet soup called che dau xanh- very refreshing

I ordered a take away via GrabFood!! Food were still hot when I received it and food were super yummy! David’s Ugly Delicious - Netflix show S1.4 has talk about this restaurant. I’m glad that I tried it out. I highly recommend crystal shrimp dumping 😋

2020 - I love to revisit a place and find it to be just as remembered. This is a stellar restaurant, one of my all-time favourites. The crab soup (Bun Cha Cua) and congee (Banh Canh Cua) were a revelation and the Bun Bo Hue is still delicious. 2016 - Absolutely delicious, reasonable prices, quick & friendly service, very busy. I almost didn't find it though because it's incorrectly marked on the map. Just across the street from the market corner there is a small alleyway and the restaurant is at the back end on the left! I got the Bun Bo Hue which was very fresh had great flavors and a green tea for 66 000 VND. Everything on the menu looked delicious, I will definitely be going back to taste more Hue specialties!

Followed online recommendation. Not the easiest to find the place. It was super hot too. Only one ceiling fan in the entire restaurant and AC not working. But food is great!

😠 It's a street full of pubs. That's about it. Blaring musics. Girls dancing on stage. Tourist. Not recommended. Too noisy. But what really put me off is the people... There can be up to 5 persons grabbing my arms my bags to lead me to their pubs. I have to constantly struggle to keep their hands off...
