To talk about the Salvatierra Castle is to talk about a castle that was... and of which only a small u-shaped area remains, bordering a rocky outcropping. We can also see what was possibly a cistern. If we make the climb to the Sierra de la Villa, which once crowned this non-existent castle, it must be for the pleasure of taking a beautiful walk not without slope, and enjoying the views offered to us from above.

Perfect for getting started, dynamic and fun, and has everything you need, some small falls and two different level bridges: K2. Park in the Las Cruces parking lot and follow the sign. There are two, one at the beginning and another on the approach path to the hill until you see the green dots that indicate the way to the cable to go down to the beginning. There are two, the first shorter for children. and the second one, which is what I recommend, if you don't know how to go down, follow green points until the path we went up. Start, first bridge and summit

It is good, although access through the ravine is not easy. Cable approach with rocky sloping ground and then well equipped.

5 stars for the route, there is no castle, only its remains are found. It requires a bit of climbing (it depends on where you go up there is more or less) although the main path has chains to help climb.

These are the remains of the Caliphate castle that existed in the 10th century before the construction of the current Villena castle. It is located at the top of the Sierra de Villena, it can be accessed through the mountains or by following the via ferrata.

It is 1 km above sea level. But it's worth it

Nice via ferrata, if the signage was a little better there would be a five. Is well suited for beginners and people with a fear of heights. When you start to see green dots you are in the right place. If you see three crosses you are wrong. Then you can theoretically just go straight up behind the crosses; the entrance is on the other side of the mountain. That means you hike in the middle (look carefully, there was a building at the top at one point) over the mountain and then follow the rope path to the rungs.

Via Ferrata is perfect for getting started in the world of climbing. You can climb it at night, and you can also do the route in reverse by rappelling.

El que se ve en la imagen no es el Castillo de Salvatierra, es el Castillo de la Atalaya πŸ˜‰πŸ‘
