I have had many wonderful experiences at 1889 Enoteca and felt it was about time to publicly post that and share some photos from those visits. Before anyone is put off by the T-bone though, I thoroughly enjoy blue steak, but know it may not be to everyones liking. They can cook it however you like.

Service was a little robotic. No recommendations, didn't feel very welcomed, to be honest... Bread and pasta were on point tho. Kudos to the team in the kitchen! Bread was warm served with a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar (we had to request for the vinegar and I'm so glad we did). I never had such tasty and fruity, almost juicy, balsamic vinegar in my life. It's almost life-changing... We enjoyed the Truffle gnocchi. It was a bit too soft for my liking. But the flavour left a deep impression on me. I'm a big fan of gnocchi! You definitely have to get this. Steak was a huge miss for us. We ordered medium rare and it came out rare. Tasted like fish on the surface. Sauce and vegetables tasted abit like Chinese style cooking. Wasn't executed well. Will visit again to try the other pastas and stick to having pasta next time.

Place is nice. The walls are all adjourned with rows and rows of wines. If you like a large selection of wines, this is defintely the place to go. Aside from the wines, my party of 6 found the food here to be fantastic, every last bit on every plate with finished up including the sauces. I recommend the risotto and the bugs.

All the pasta are fresh and handmade. Very good sand crab linguine and carbonara! Very good risotto as well! The strawberry ice cream cake, panna cotta and tiramisu were nice. Personal favorite would be the strawberry ice cream and tiramisu for coffee lovers. Excellent service and very good ambience! Definitely must try for Italian cuisine and pasta lovers.

Everything about our experience today at 1889 Enoteca was extraordinary. The food was divine, the staff were next level and the manager went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time! We made our booking online and noted an allergy- they gave me a special menu that had the dishes to avoid and even had some options for ways they could tweak certain meals if I did want to choose them. Amazing is an understatement. Thank you 1889 Enoteca!

Have visited twice and both times were wonderful experiences. The staff were attentive and freindly. The atmosphere was enjoyable and there was a nice variety of food and wine to choose from. Lots of great menue items. However, my favourite was the Pappardelle. Generously portioned and seasoned. The pasta was al dente and silky. The beef tender and falling apart. Will definitely come back again.

So glad we finally tried this restaurant. The atmosphere accompanied by the waiters made us feel like we were back in Italy. Luigi, your service was outstanding honestly some of the best service we have ever had. All of the other waiters were equally as helpful, and kind. The food was incredible, our mains of Pappardelle & Carbonara were delicious and the dessert, Panacotta, was perfect to finish off with. See you again soon.

We had one of the best dinners of our lives here. The food was exceptional. The raw food was fresh, delicious and presented perfectly. The cooked food was exquisite, well balanced and cooked to perfection. The service was outstanding. Our waiter, Filippo looked after our every need and even the other waiters treated us like we were their primary responsibility. The wine list is extensive and caters to every taste. The atmosphere is extraordinary - we felt like we were in Italy. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone in Brisbane.

Our favourite Italian restaurant in the whole of Brisbane. We have been 4 times and it’s only June. The service is always great, there’s a great selection of wines and the food is authentic and high quality.

Fine casual dining Italian restaurant that left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. The decor was tasteful and modern, with a touch of old-world charm that perfectly complemented the menu. Speaking of the menu, the food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. We started with the zucchini flowers and goat cheese. For my main course, I had the tagliatelle with sand crab, which was one of the best pasta dishes I have had in a while. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and I left feeling fully satisfied. But it wasn't just the food that made my dining experience at 1889 Enoteca so memorable. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations, and every member of the staff we interacted with was friendly and attentive. Overall, I can't recommend 1889 Enoteca highly enough. If you're looking for a delicious Italian meal in a cozy and inviting atmosphere, this is the place to go. Five stars all around!

The service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and were knowledgeable about wine pairings for dishes and were able to give great recommendations on the dishes available. This is the second time that we have come, and would come again on a special occasion. Food wise: The pasta is made in-house and is very nice. This time we had the Moreton Bay bugs, which were very nice. They did not come with bread, which would be nice in an Italian restaurant. When we asked for it, the bread was very nice too.

Was very disappointed. After seeing this place being raved about online it was a massive let down. I had ticked the booking as a birthday event, yet there was no mention or acknowledgement of this. The service was dash and drop and very robotic. The bread and the Farinata was fresh and had lots of flavour. The mains were a disappointment, the Gnocchi was mushy and sauce tasted mostly of cream, the risotto was overpowered by lemon and the rice was under cooked and chewy. Was a disappointing birthday dinner, wish I took my money elsewhere.

Friendly atmosphere and good food as always. Really appreciated that we were asked if we’d like Al Dante or fully cooked. Although we chose the inauthentic Italian way, we did enjoy our pasta cooked through and soft. Looking forward to future outing and dining again.

Amazing waiter service who recommended amazing wines. It transported me to Italy. - fresh bread and olives - delicious! - gnocchi - delicious! 2nd time trying it here, don’t change it! - pappadelle - wasn’t up to the Ennotica standards, lacked flavor, too much meat/pasta ratio. - dessert - Pannacotta - delicious

The best gnocchi ever. I like how they decorate the interior. I think that makes customers to enjoy their meals better. I never drink but the atmosphere made me wanted to enjoy all menu with a glass of wine. Staffs were friendly. I will go visit again soon for the gnocchi.

Wonderful lunch with friends….. This was our fist time to this restaurant. Our friends had recommended Enoteca for lunch to celebrate a birthday. Boy you don’t disappoint! The atmosphere was lovely, the waiter fab and the food simply delicious 🤤 The oysters fresh and succulent the bugs amazing 🤩 We will be back again. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience. And yes, we were the last ones to leave 😉

3.25 ⭐️ - celebrated my birthday lunch here and it didn't live up to the hype. Staff were helpful and friendly but service was slow despite it not being busy & they forgot our drink orders. We tried the: 🍝 Parpadelle pasta - the food wasn't hot (felt like it sat for a while before being served) and was very salty 🍝 Patate - was recommended by a friend but was average, wasn't crispy but nice seasoning 🍝 Gnocchi - the gnocchi was cooked well and sauce was beautiful, the meat was gamey tho and had a strong taste 🍝 Tagliata - the steak was mostly dry, was disappointed 🍝 Tirimisu - highly recommended! Not too sweet and not too much cream, the cake was a perfect denseness

The wine collection is absolutely a must to see and taste. The service is impeccable, with a lovely attitude from the waiters happy to help you chose the right wine fit for the chosen meal. There’s no pressure and if not convinced they’ll make sure to address better your preference and offer you another option. The dessert wine Moscato D’asti has been an absolute gem at the end of dinner. The food was a national treasure. Unbelievable precision in reproducing the original recipes to the tiniest detail. My nonna would be absolutely mesmerised. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, with dimmed lights, old wooden floors, and walls completely covered by shelf units of wines. Absolutely recommended!

A great experience from start to finish. Attentive staff constantly filling up your water. Fantastic wine knowledge, we had a red with our meal & it was outstanding. The fresh baked bread & olives was so doughy & a perfect amount of soft & crunchy. We all eat something different & everyone said their meal was fantastic. It all looked amazing & if I could have had a taster of everything I would have. The tiramisu was also go good, I love that dessert

I loved the atmosphere and sophisticated restaurant decoration. I've always wanted to visit here so I had pretty high expectations, that's why I was slightly disappointed with the food. The gnocci tasted good but not like the best dish I've ever had. I tasted some spice that I don't like from sausage in the gnocci, maybe that's why it didn't hit my spot. Tiramisu was great with an accent of chocolate. Definitely recommended for people who want to enjoy their meal in a nice atmosphere.

Large amount of wine selection but waiter was a little unprofessional at times, dropping things on us and pouring water on to phone on the table. Menu is a little hard to read for an native English speaker but perhaps that's just me but otherwise the food was fairly good, came out reasonably fast, not much to pick from on the menu but probably is the trade off for speed of delivery so I'm satisfied with that. Would I go there again? More than likely. Parking was difficult but managed to get one close by. I think if you are a wine buff you would love this place. I know nothing about wines other than what red goes with and what white goes with but it would be awesome if the waiters had some knowledge or perhaps shared some of their knowledge on the many types of wines so that we may make a selection, rather than sticking to the usual wine that we would drink. I know I sound like a brute but not everyone can be an expert at everything. That said, this place was busy so I doubt they will change their ways just for me.

Came on my own and trusted my waitress to help me select a few house favourites and pair a wine with each course. Everything was delicious. A few of the pastas you could order as entree size so I ordered 2 so I could try more things. With the pork and fennel sausage gnocchi being life changing. As well as the tiramisu being delicious. Everything was great. Definitely order the gnocchi if you haven't tried it.

Amazing food, again. Can’t not have the gnocchi and Italian sausage, again. So delicious. Delightful wait staff make the experience even better. We were served by a lovely Italian waitress who organised a complimentary glass of Brachetto (now my new wine!) for the birthday girl and Italian biscotti (? Rococco) for all, after noticing the present on the table. Definitely a restaurant to return to regularly.

Stay away if you can. No Vegan option, limited Vegetarian options, over priced menu, waiting staff are there to sell. A local place which treat you as a clueless tourist in your own city. If due to COVID missing the feeling of being a tourist overseas and getting ripped off , then this is the place for you.

My wife and I enjoyed our 6th anniversary here. It was perfect. Food was sensational, wait staff were amazing and helped us to choose the perfect wine and desserts to go with our Mains. We requested a table on the terrace which was perfect on a warm Brisbane evening. Atmosphere was just right. This is an expensive restaurant, but I feel we definitely got what we paid for. Highly recommend this restaurant.

What a wonderful evening. It was our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The atmosphere was romantic, we had the perfect table, our waitress was amazing and the food was out of this world delicious. Our waitress suggested wine to go with our meal and it was spot on. We can't wait to go back again. The freshest oysters I've had in a long time and the pasta was sensational. Thank you so much for such a memorable night. I highly recommend. You just have to go.

Two of us were vegetarian and even though we were prepared to have hardly any options, they offered to make several dishes vegetarian for us. The food was absolutely divine. Perfect pasta, my daughter said the gnocchi was like eating clouds! Had to try three of the desserts and all were perfect. We will be back!

Beautiful restaurant, with great atmosphere and delicious food. Hard to say anything bad.Service was excellent with an amazing wine selection.. if one thing that all our group mentioned was the music selection which was a mixture of country and western.. sort of lost the ambience of a true Italian experience. Would highly recommend for all lovers of Italian cuisine.

I had dinner there with my husband for my birthday. Although I had mentioned my birthday at the time of making my booking it was not acknowledged by staff on the night. I actually was not perturbed by that, because right from the beginning the service was excellent l, food outstanding and the wine chosen by our server amazing. The best gnocchi I have ever tried. Greeted at the door and welcomed in by super friendly staff, the immediate feel as we stepped into this restaurant was an intimate, dimly lit experience. There are bottles of wine every where you look and i love the rustic brick finished interior 👍🏼👍🏼 . We ordered the Insalata Di Pesche (a peach Salad dish) to start. The peach wedges combined with the buffalo mozzarella was refreshing and tasted great! I didn't know i loved buffalo mozzarella so much 🤭 . Then for mains I got the Pappardelle Pasta which had tonnes of braised pork & beef loaded on top of the large, very broad flat pasta. It tasted amazing, not super heavy and was rich and very flavoursome👌🏼 Wifey got the Sandcrab Tagliatelle which also had generous amounts of crab meat and a zesty lemon taste to accompany the pasta. This too tasted super yummy!!! 🤤🤤🤤 . We also got some Roasted Potatoes to share which had whole roasted cloves of garlic and oodles of rosemary in there as well. The potatoes had a nice crunchy outer jacket and a soft inside 🔥🔥 . Aaand to finish off a great evening of food, we got the Tiramisu to share. Strong but not overpowering espresso flavours and enough chocolate to keep it all balanced out 🥰 . An amazing evening of food and very happy we got to try this place out. Would highly recommend it and we'll definitely have to go back for another visit 🔥🔥🤩🤩💯

Came here for a 1 year anniversary. Food was amazing. The best Gnocchi we’ve ever eaten. The reason why we give it a 3/5 is because of the service we received from one staff member who was taking care of us. We arrived 16 minutes late to our booking and only have 1 hour and 45 minutes left of our booking. Ok we understand, it was definitely our wrong to arrive late but man, the way they handle those types of situations is really horrible. We ordered 4 items and then asked if we could order dessert too. He rudely said with zero empathy in his voice, you arrived late so you can’t fit dessert with a three course meal and did some awkward face and shrug, took our menus and just walked away. Like ok?? No suggestions or way around it?? Just straight up no?? I felt like a child in school getting punished for being late to class😅 He came back and asked if we wanted drinks. No way we didn’t want drinks now, we just knew in a instant we would be rushed - and we were. During our time there, we had our plates taken away so quickly (even with a bit of food still left unfinished on it - ask before taking it away?) and just left super rushed the entire time. Plus, the fans were put on at a high setting so the food ends up getting cold quicker. We shifted closer to the wall to avoid our food in the fan wind lol. We ended up leaving at 7:30pm (15 minutes remaining in our booking). Warmly dimmed restaurant that seemed relaxing and memorable making, ended up being one of our most awkward and rushed dining experiences of my life. Won’t be back but applause to the kitchen for the great food 👍

We have been going to this restaurant since it opened and it has consistently been good value for food and service. Wine can be a bit dear , but the quality is excellent . Would recommend this establishment for Italian food to anyone.

Superb Roman cuisine with knowledgable friendly wait staff. Incredible wine list and old ( not Roman) surroundings. Absolutely worth the visit. Plenty of good Italian restaurants in Brisbane but this one is well above all the rest. This is authentic Roman and no pizzas to be seen. Buon appetito!

This is the place to be if you are looking for authentic italian flavours and a huge variety of wines. We are both Italian and we felt like at home. Classy atmosphere with professional staff. A must tries are the caponata and the gnocchi, both absolutely get 5 starts. And don't forget to order the handmade bread for the SCARPETTA. Defently on my top restaurant in Australia and I will go back.

The food here is AMAZING! I understand what all the fuss is about. We did not have a booking and were able to negotiate a spot inside as we'd walked in at 5.30pm and knew we'd be done by before 7pm. The staff were so good, especially the waiters who served us, so friendly, patient and bright. The food was INCREDIBLE! Green beans that cut into like butter, fresh delicious pasta =mindblown🤯😋 the only criticism i have about my experience would be that the mattress KEPT watching us, that was a bit intimidating. I mean, we did say we would be out before 7pm and were very grateful for the spot to begin with. But the amazing food and service outshone that.

Amazing dining experience! Best Italian pasta in Brisbane we have tasted.. & equally as nice wines! All imported. Definitely will be back to try more of the incredible menu & wines. Thank you for a lovely romantic evening 1889 Enoteca.

The food and wine were so authentic, I felt like I was in Italy. I love the decor and ambiance, and the service is exceptional. I think this is definitely one of the best restaurants in Brisbane because they are so consistent year after year. Well done.

5 star service, food and ambience! Wine list is extensive (the orange wine was omg so yummy), food done well, great wait staff and lovely restaurant in general! Perfect date night venue or an intimate birthday party (they have a whole basement that can be cordoned off for private parties).

Food was absolutely incredible. It is worth the price. We had the gnocchi, crab pasta and shareplate. Was all amazing and the best quality possible. Staff were also really lovely.

Great Italian food, the selection of dishes is definitely not your ordinary Italian restaurant menu. We had zucchini flowers, Vitello tonnato, two pastas and two deserts, really great meal! The staff was super helpful as well. Maybe a bit pricy for the size of the dishes, but worth it if you want to be taken back to Italy…

Fantastic Italian restaurant. Been around a long time & I hadn't been for a long time until the other day when we had an opportunity for lunch. The place was busy, the staff are fantastic & the food was delicious! Extensive wine list too.

Wonderful dining experience! Excellent and authentic food, fantastic and friendly service and exceptional wines. The team were so professional and yet relaxed and warm. They could not have done more to make our experience better - which included giving us a range of taste tests to ensure we ordered the bottle of wine perfect for us. Our best dining experience in Brisbane! Thank you Silvia, Nicola and the team.

One of the best authentic Italian restaurants in Australia. Staffs are mostly Italian and very accommodating. Food quality is too-notched they serve the finest, traditional and classic dishes. A variety of mains: pasta, risotto, steak, seafood, etc. Wine list is very extensive so just ask the staff for recommendations! They have outdoor seats which is pet friendly too!! Carbonara is my personal favourite, very flavourful and crispy Guanciale with egg sauce, delizioso, fantastico, bravo!

Booked out the cellar room, the manager was really nice and thorough with the whole process. The vibe in the cellar room was immaculate and they have an extensive wine list. They can cater up to 40 people which is pretty impressive. Of what we ordered, the risotto, fish and tiramisu stood out. Was just a little disappointed with the overall experience as the food came out slightly cold, the waiter that served us came off as unenthusiastic and seemed a bit annoyed, and although I asked them to pack any leftover foods that we had (as they were clearing out the food quite quick and u noticed there was still food on the plates) - they only gave me the mains but I am certain that there were so much other dishes that were taken away. Just for the price point I’m paying I definitely feel like I expected a bit more..

I've been to 1988 Enoteca twice now and have enjoyed my experience each time. It has quite an intimate setting, low lit and the waiters are friendly and tend to suggest dishes and drinks. I would advise to book ahead instead of walking in. We walked in on a Tuesday and they were very busy only able to offer us a table outside, of which there were 3 available. What I like about Enoteca is that their pasta is actually al dente, I've wondered if they make their pasta in house. I've ordered the carbonara twice now. The first time it was perfect, I love the guanciale they use here. The second time around I think they were a bit too heavy handed with the olive oil but it was still good. The fig mozzarella endive balsamic vinegar salad was amazing. I will definitely be back.

The tagliatelle dish with prawns was amazing. Oysters were good too. Only thing that unsettled us a little was it felt like the staff thought we were going to do a runner for some reason. Or maybe they wanted our table clear soon. It made us a little uncomfortable and we felt a little rushed however they were still polite and friendly overall. On the pricier side so would recommend this restaurant for a special date night!

We came here for our belated Valentine’s Day celebration and we were certainly not disappointed. The service was immaculate and the gnocchi was by far the best gnocchi we’ve had in our lives and the tiramisu was an absolute hit too! We will definitely be back.
