Such a nice place to visit for a walk on the trails and to see the animals. Plenty of play things for kids to climb on. Great for a free home school field trip

What an amazing natural area! The landscape is beautiful and the educational signage is top notch. Highly enjoyable for all ages! I came after hours so I cannot comment on the facilities or events, but I look forward to checking those things out!

The inside part was closed, but my kids and I enjoyed the acres of open outdoor space to play and hike around. The zip line was a highlight, as was the Birds of Prey building.

This place is awesome for families with kids! There is a huge area with several outdoor play areas including things to climb on and a zip line. There are beautiful walking trails full of life to observe. Also, this place functions as an animal sanctuary helping rehabilitate or home wildlife that have been injured or sick. You can actually get up close and see some amazing animals and learn about them in the process. For example the bald eagle and peregrine falcon! Two of the most awesome birds in the world!! Best part is: it's FREE to visit! If you need something to do with your family, check this place out! Even though it's free to visit, consider bringing a few bucks to donate since it's such an awesome place! This was my first visit, but I will definitely be coming back!

The nature center is a big hit with kids. There are animal displays, pelts to touch, a few live animals (turtles, snake, fish), puppets, books, puzzles, etc. Outside, the kids love the zip lines, slide, climbing options, and tiny sled hill. There are bathrooms inside and out. One of our favorite places to take our grandkids!

What an awesome find! The walking trails here are paved, and there are several outlooks and other places to stop to do birdwatching. They have an educational building where they have rescued raptors who would not survive in the wild being cared for that you can look at. It is a great place to plan a day to explore.

This is a great nature center! The taxidermy was really interesting and my kids loved it. They also have a lot of hands-on activities inside. Along with snakes, turtles, and other live animals. Of course, my kids really enjoyed playing on the many different play areas outside. It was nice that there were different structures for different ages. We also really enjoyed the sensory nature trail which lead to a birds of prey exhibit with species from owls to bald eagles. Overall, this was a great place to explore and we could have spent the whole day here! We definitely plan to go back again!

Beautiful. Such an exciting place for kids and adults. My kids loved it. I appreciate how kid friendly it was. The atmosphere and goal here is "please touch and explore." They had animals native to Michigan. We were around when they were being fed and the staff were so ready to answer the kids questions and talk about the animals. Porcupine, skunk, fox, owls, eagles, hawks, reptiles, snakes, amphibians, exhibits, library, learning tools, trails, pond, outdoor natural play areas.

What a fun place. The receptionist was super friendly and helpful. Of course the kids liked the zipline the best, but the trails were fun and the birds of prey were really neat. We didn't get to see everything but I would come.back here again!

We spent the whole day here easily. Lots of trails with hidden sculptures. Seeing bald eagles up close was cool. And food trucks near the pavilion was a great surprise.

It would be a nice place for a nature hike from the small section I was able to walk through. We were there for a field trip and other than the cold, rainy weather, it was a nice place to take the kids.

Such a fun place to bring your kids! The hiking paths were wide which was great for our little group. There were soooo many fun things to do and see. I was shocked it was free to get in! I am excited to go back and check out more of the grounds. We did some hiking (we do a weekly nature walk and this week's theme was fungus/mushrooms) and we found a beautiful reishi mushroom to study. The kids also enjoyed the zip line, slides, playing in the sand and rocks and doing their nature journals. There were picnic tables for eating and I didn't even make it in the welcome center. I'll update next time I go!

My wife and I first visited about a month ago for a walk. We brought our nephew back a week ago. It's a great place to get away for a while. Absolutely beautiful grounds with plenty of wildflowers (and a bit of wildlife) to admire. Our nephew LOVED the "natural playground" and seeing the Birds of Prey. We can't wait to come back!

An absolute must visit nature park for anyone with kids. There is a nature center, some animals and a birds of prey rehabilitation center, lots of nature trails and even a play area with unique play structures. We spent a few hours here and still only saw a fraction of the property. Definitely make a point to at least visit the birds of prey area. They had an impressive variety of birds including eagles, hawks and owls! Also, the earlier you arrive the better. We were here around 9am on a weekday and had the place to ourselves for a while!

Fabulous spot with plenty to see. The birds of prey have an explanation of why they are at the sanctuary; impressive work. Kids had fun fishing (catch and release) and seeing a variety of critters. It's fast away from town so the setting is very natural and quiet.

The property was very well groomed and clean. All the animal exhibits were fantastic. They had a raptor show going on when we arrived that was great for kids and adults! The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful! The play areas for kids was extremely well maintained for safety and fun!

Chaperoned a field trip here for my daughters class. This was probably one of the best places she's went so far. Such interesting things to look at. Love the birds of prey exhibit. They are beautiful to look at. Fun to learn about.

I was so thrilled to find this place basically by accident. It was a nice little hike despite it being a particularly windy, snowy day when we went out, and a really cool experience. The person we spoke to was also super nice and helpful and we'll definitely be back the next time we're in western Michigan. Also they sell lots of cool things so buy some and support the center!

Very nice place! Went to the trick or treat trail activity! Would have been a nice experience, nature woooo! however An elderly woman working at the visitor center or whatever it is denied us bathroom use for my child. It was more important to immediately pay to enter. We rode the shuttle over and everything Had all intent of paying but now I’m super annoyed about it. Have a great day lady. Thank you for being generally unpleasant to nice people

If you love the outdoors in s urban area, that's the place to go. They have great trails and most of them you can take your dog as long as their on a leash. Awesome wildlife. Awesome nature. Would highly recommend.
