Food was lovely for the money and came to to the table hot. Friendly service. Served very quickly. Lovely little birthday night out for my 12 year old 🥰

Went to The Otter before a show at the memo. Food was great and fab value for money. Fish was huge and a couple of us had sirloin steak and two rump. Everyone said they were great..

The recent renovation of the pub is absolutely stunning! The new decor and design are fantastic, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The attention to detail is remarkable, from the stylish furniture to the beautiful lighting fixtures. The layout is well thought out, offering comfortable seating areas and a great flow throughout the space. The addition of cozy nooks and a fireplace adds a touch of charm. The bar area is impressive, with a wide selection of beverages and a well-trained staff. Overall, the pub renovation is a wonderful transformation that enhances the overall experience for patrons.

I've held off reviewing the Otter in the past as it used to be quite inconsistent, but we've had a few meals here recently and they have all been to a very high standard. It caters very well for families and the staff are always great!

Nice environment, server was very polite. Food was nice, but very expensive. They offer two for one on main meals which you'll need to get your money's worth.

We had a lovely lunch here . The service was good and the food came quickly. We ordered a nacho sharing starter which was good value and a cowboy burger and fish and chips. The meals were a good size and were cooked well. I would return again as the menu had a good selection of typical pub grub meals.

Stopped in today for lunch with my four year old. We were seated immediately and offered crayons for the little one to entertain herself with. Food was served quickly and was amazing! I had an ultimate chicken burger and loved it, the gravy was possibly the nicest gravy I've ever had. Little one had sausage and mash and said the sausages were very yummy. Dessert came out soon after we finished and little one was very impressed with the marshmallows AND chocolate bits with her ice cream 🤣. 10/10 experience very happy and will go again.

My hubby makes the best Sunday roast, so I know when it's good. Theirs is good.

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. We haven’t been for a while as we were often disappointed by the food but thought we’d give it another go after it’s reopening (and the 30% off voucher helped). We had booked in advance but had to wait for tables to be moved (2 different height tables pushed together), after being seated & waiting a while for someone to take our drinks order we went to the bar to be told there was no table service (not a problem in itself but we weren’t told). After ordering it took just over 30 minutes for our starters to arrive, the plates were cleared around 30 minutes after this and when we enquired as to how long the mains would be we were told “I’m not sure but I’m pretty sure they might be almost ready”. It took a further 20 minutes for them to arrive, from time of ordering to receiving our mains was approximately an hour & a half. When the mains arrived they were piping hot which is fantastic, we were happy with all the meals except the Mega Mixed Grill. The chicken & gammon were completely dry as overcooked, the steak was under cooked at rare instead of medium & not a particularly good cut (a lot of fat & sinew for a rump) and the eggs were very over cooked. We should have complained but did not because in all honesty we just wanted to leave by this point. We had planned on getting dessert too but ended up getting McFlurries from the drive thru opposite as we weren’t prepared to wait for another half an hour for another course. I appreciate that at busy times there will be a wait but over 90 minutes when barely a third of the tables were occupied is really disappointing & frustrating.

My steak was over cooked and dry I could not eat it. I was given a refund. My friend hunters chicken had hardly any cheese and thin strips of cheap bacon Nice portion of chips would have been nice to have more onion rings. Lovely decor and atmosphere. Very clean and welcoming staff friendly and helpful.

Lovely pub in a nice atmosphere with friendly attentive staff & a very good variety on the menu but the meal was a bit disappointing. I had the carvery which looked lovely but it was very bland .The roast potatoes were nice though but the gravy let it down big time. I had the Jam sponge pudding for afters & it still didn't deliver. Sorry about the poor review I might just be fussy ,but it was nothing special.

Great food, 3 out of 4 of us doing slimming world diet so there are options on the menu which help to stay on plan. Also, big plus is you are dog friendly. We had a dog with us. We sat outside but we could have taken him inside if we wanted to, which is a great bonus to me. Food Service was fab and really friendly guy behind the bar. 100% great experience.

Service is kinda slow and poor girl on the bar was working alone when other staff were sat at a table chatting. She was awesome, friendly, polite and brought our drinks to the table as she could see a queue and started a tab for us to make it easier. Managers should be on top of their staff numbers to suit customer numbers.

Shame that they stop serving food at 20:30 but it was dead when we went at 20:00, so I guess it's fair. Would recommend. 07/12: lovely carvery; would've liked bigger portions of meat but I know meat costs (and we're greedy as hell). Restaurant looks well done up for Christmas. There's a breakfast with Santa advertised.

Staff are lovely, manager is lovely, food was delicious and desserts were yummy. Food and drink are good prices, the play area and the children's activity menu gave my son lots to do. I'd definitely recommend ☺️

Most of the menu is very good would rate it 4 starts on the food, with the exception of a few items that were not so nice (chicken burger). Gave 3 stars overall because the servers are extremely slow at taking your order, was waiting ages at the table for order to be taken. Then nobody came to clear the plates and ask about dessert or more drinks at the end so ended up leaving instead of getting dessert

Great food! It was hot and fresh 😋 and the staff were lovely , very friendly and attentive. We come here quite often and are already looking forward to our next visit.

I went with my family for Sunday carvery. The staff were very friendly. Chris and his team made us feel very comfortable and welcome. We were served by Cameron and Mazie who made sure our visit was a great experience by their professionalism and attention. The food was beautiful and we will definitely be back again.

Excellent birthday meal We celebrated my niece's birthday at The Otter today and had a fabulous time. Most of us went for the Carvery and it was immense!! The food was exceptionally well cooked and the lovely carvery guy didn't skimp on the meat. We will definitely be back. A table of 16 all ate at the same time, enjoyed the food and had zero complaints

Lovely staff and friendly service, extra attention was paid to the gluten free diner which is always reassuring and the standalone gf menu is always appreciated as not all chains offer this - I.e. beefeater at coldra Newport last week.... our server and the manager Chris were exceptionally helpful. We'll definitely be back soon.

The place looks tired dirty seats tables were well worn and walls in need of a lick of paint ! Service good girls very polite and food ok ordered extra salad which was very poor lettuce was yellow and tasted horrible so I asked for another !!!! The Carvery looked nice ! I always enjoy that down there

Lovely pub grub, but 2 for 1 offer is a joke! £18 for fish and chips so they have just doubled their prices. Staff not wearing masks. Toilets nice and clean. Easy disabled access and parking.

Easy to book online. Really like this option. Service was quick and efficient. Food was of a good choice and standard. Excellent value for money. Looking forward to returning.

Want for a carvery today very disappointing food cold beef like Rubber gravy like dish water not like me to complain but I did. offered a half price meal or someone else.did not make up for the poor food. man on the table next to me also complained

My food was good but partners chips too hard to eat. Service slow despite being almost empty. Place looks nice and cheap
