We ordered the afternoon tea and the high tea, each came with 2 choices of tea. Nice ambient, nice service, and nice tea. They have many selections of tea. Although it’s a bit pricey given it’s portions, the savory options were impressive. They know how to strike a perfect balance between different ingredients, so the savory options tasted harmonious. The sweet options were great, not too sweet, also perfect balance.

I had high hopes for tea and sandwiches today. Except for the tea, everything was a letdown. My wife enjoyed her tea and dessert, but our party of 5 agreed to a 'no' on coming back. I guess many days you can't just buy tea, it's 30 to $40 for tea and sandwiches, and then add-ons from there. If things were good, that would be fine, but the mistakes coming out from the kitchen aside (which were all fixed, our waiter was on top of things), I liked 1 out of 5 of my sandwiches (and I'm not picky), my scone basically exploded when I tried to break a piece off because it was so hard. The waiter gave me a second, but it was from the same batch so also disappointing. Lack of flavor everywhere. They just moved to this location, so hopefully they'll get into a groove. If it was tea and dessert where I could actually choose how much I wanted, it probably would have another star.

I went several times to the last place they were located but I absolutely love this place at the new one. You can also get your whole tea experience with food all vegan! My friends & I had a wonderful, fancy little tea party there recently. I highly recommend. The staff was also so nice, accommodating, patient, and will gladly take pictures of your group for you. Be careful with parking though. Be sure you have fully paid on the app before you walk inside. Cops watch this area heavily and will ticket.

Great high tea experience, you have to make reservations which is standard for an English high tea experience. Good scones, savory sandwiches and tasty dessert. Great mix of teas, I'd recommend the chai as it was my favorite. Ask for cream for the teas and it elevates the experience even more. Great server who took care of us, she was very knowledgeable and attentive.

I was so excited to come here to celebrate a birthday. I had a reservation. We were sat in the corner next to a very large noisy party, even though there were plenty of open tables elsewhere. We didn’t see any waitstaff for nearly 15 min. We were able to order tea before watching our waitress walk out, never to return. Another long wait before someone finally came over and apologized…nearly an hour after my reservation time we were served our food, the only good thing about our visit. Everything on the afternoon tea was tasty. I left sad because I really wanted this to be a great experience but it was very expensive for having such awful service, to be sat in the corner and forgotten. I won’t be back.

This is a quaint and relaxing venue with very friendly wait staff. The linens are crisp and white, the tea is nice and hot and the scones are fabulous. You can pop in for a tea and fresh scone or you can reserve a full tea service online. I elected for the tea service and I was not disappointed. You get to try two different teas, so two pots! You also can take your left overs to go, including a cup of tea. I highly recommend this tea room. It's lovely and a great place to enjoy some tea and just relax!

I had enjoyed the Tea Room once before, but it was pre-COVID and the tables were packed uncomfortably close, even then. I was so pleased to see there's been room added for social distancing--and for a Sunday, they were quite slow, for which I was thankful. I had a ricotta and spinach croissant and a Chai masala. The milk steamer was broken, apparently, but I just had a pot of Chai and some cream on the side--no harm done. I love the interior of the Tea Room, with all its gifts and teas and snacks and decor. The other guests also seemed to be enjoying themselves. I sat on the far side of the room, where I was able to charge my phone at an outlet under my table. I liked that they had a big container of ice water for anyone to use. I do wish they'd provide regular silverware instead of plastic, though. Less waste, and it feels more sophisticated, too.

I debated between 3 or 4 or 5 stars for this review. If I'm being completely honest, the special event we went to wasn't really worth the additional cost. We went to the special Mother's Day afternoon tea event, and I think the standard afternoon tea downstairs would have been better. The food was a fun experience and the tea was some of the best I've had, but a glass of champagne and a string trio that played less than half the time we were there wasn't worth the additional cost that bumped the price up to $100 a ticket. I appreciated that mothers also received a small bag of tea, but I really think it's wrong to charge the same price for every ticket and only include that add on for mothers, especially since not all women can have children and men were guests too. If you only want to give an item to a certain group, it would be better to have it as an add-on item for the ticket rather than going around the room picking certain people to get them. Especially for Mother's day, when a lot of moms say "Oh, you can have mine," when they see someone else is going without. Service/atmosphere also brought down my rating. The musicians weren't great. They seemed to have long breaks, one literally yawned like they were SO bored at least four times, and they seemed to skip quite a few measures in certain songs and were very repetitive in the songs they did play. My mom saw one server drinking champagne in the back. The order people were served didn't match the order they sat down, and there seemed to be some confusion with seating. That felt a little disorganized. Also the chairs were very uncomfortable, hard wood, not great. I'd visit again to try the standard experience, but I don't think I'd book another special event without some changes.

Best place in St. Louis to feel like a Brit. Their teas are so good, you’ll never go back to anything in a bag again. The lemon-blueberry cake is a slice of pure summertime. My particular favorites are the scones and rock cakes. I can’t speak to many of the savory items, but what I’ve had - bacon and egg croissant, Cornish pastry & quiches are very good. They also have a reasonably priced retail section, teapots and other tea accessories. Highly recommended.

I so wanted to love this place and become a repeat customer but The London Tea room fell short of my expectations. Having family from the British Isles and visiting pretty much every year for the past 20 years I know what scones and pastries are supposed to taste like and the ones served here where definitely disappointing. The scones which I was most excited about where the consistency of hockey pucks. The taste was good but texture all wrong… almost baked too long… maybe?. The macrons which my family eats a lot of were probably the worst we have ever had. None of us finished eating them which normally these are the things you save for the end because they are usually the best . These were very sticky/chewy and definitely not freshly made. The frozen ones at Costco are by far better. We also didn’t enjoy the smoked salmon sandwiches. I can’t even explain the flavor other than it just wasn’t good and the rest at our table also thought they were awful. I have never not loved smoked salmon so this was the first time I left it behind. I did enjoy the cucumber and cream cheese sandwich and the chicken sandwich. Both were very good and a hit at the table. Lemon bars were tasty as well. No complaints about the tea or the serving dishes. Teas were really good and the Laura Ashley dishes were very nice. Can’t complain about the staff either. They were very nice and explained the food and tea as you’d expect. Would I go back for afternoon tea? No. But I think hanging out in the cafe drinking tea and meeting friends would be a nicer experience. For local afternoon tea experience I can only compare to that of the Ritz Carlton in St. Louis. Before CoVID, my daughter and I made a yearly pilgrimage to the Ritz for afternoon tea. By far The Ritz is superior in quality and quantity of desserts and sandwiches for just about the same price as the London Tea Room. Like I said, we were excited to try the London Tea Room and was delighted to discover they served sausage rolls. I had planned to bring some home for the hubs (he loves them) but decided against after being underwhelmed with the food served with afternoon tea. Maybe we just hit it on a bad day? Normally I’d give a place a second chance but for the price I just can’t justify taking the chance.

WOW! What a great place. For a few moments I felt like I’m back in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I missed London so bad and this place was exactly what I needed. Tea was great! We took a kettle for two, and it was enough for us (and we couldn’t finish it). The home blend was great and it was perfect for a cozy day. Strongly recommend!Go there! Now.

I really can’t say enough about the London Tea Room. It’s a truly unique experience that makes for a great environment for meeting with friends or family. My wife and I tried the afternoon tea set menu and we each picked a tea. While I think all the teas sounded great, we had the Canadian Vicar and the Royal Wedding tea. If you like floral teas, then definitely try the royal wedding! The afternoon tea menu was great! All the little sandwiches were fresh and flavorful. I never thought I would like a curry chicken salad on a mini croissant for brunch, but it hit the spot! The cucumber sandwich and the salmon cream cheese mini bagel were also on point. You’re gonna wanna pace yourself with the scone if you want to save room for the desert plate, and while the desserts were very tasty, I think next time we’ll stick to ordering High Tea next time. I highly recommend getting reservations!!!

I have been frequenting the London Tea Room for years now and it's safe to say they are my favorite establishment in St. Louis! I buy my tea exclusively from them both for its quality and taste. The London Tea Room provides such a welcoming and relaxing environment to visit. I've studied in college here, had Mother's Day and Christmas Afternoon Tea parties, stopped in to read a book and grab a quick pot of tea, and even had my bridal shower here. That's what is so amazing - every occasion perfectly fits at the London Tea Room! The owners truly know so much about tea and have fielded my questions many times. Peter, the manager of tea, always gives great recommendations to newbies and experts alike. Lastly, their themed Afternoon Teas are always so different and so fun. I've attended Mother's Day, Christmas, Jane Austen, and Harry Potter teas. Each one had an amazing selection of tea and food curated for the theme. At the most recent Christmas tea, Santa Claus/Father Christmas visited each child at the table and truly spent time with them. My niece (age 2) was a bit shy, and he knew exactly how to handle the situation and make her Santa experience fun, too! The London Tea Room is the perfect place for celebration and relaxation alike. Stop in and you'll smell the fresh pastries baking and teas of all sorts being enjoyed. I've been a customer for years and I'll definitely be a customer for years to come.

My sister and I enjoyed afternoon and high tea selections. It was wonderful. Thomas, our server answered all our questions and provided prompt service. The autumn chicken salad on croissant was our favorite. I especially enjoyed the clotted cream. As an avid Great British Bake Off I have always wondered what clotted cream taste like! Enjoying a personal pot of tea with lumps of sugar - divine! A very nice afternoon outing!

I really wanted to like this place going in. It looked fun in reviews. As I found out saying that they're open until 4pm is extremely misleading, I was there at 3:05pm and they wouldn't seat me saying they closed down kitchen at 3pm. The lady and young man working there were very nice and attentive. I did get a cup of tea to go and it was perfectly brewed and delicious. I looked at the assorted teas on shelves, and while they have lovely selections the prices are exorbitantly high. A bag of tea that I can buy for $10-15 here they marked at $80. The biggest disappointment was scones. I didn't want heated/hot thinking they would be at room temperature. They were rock hard frozen. Clearly not fresh, even when I did reheat them there was noticeable stale taste. Sad. It ruined the desire to come back to this place.

Wonderful experience with my brother! Delicious High Tea spread, and the Coffee Kisses tea is divine. I love this place! The one con is that when I reserved our table, I had the option to select the reason for going. I selected "Birthday" since my brother's birthday was the day before. It wasn't recognized, so it may have been an issue with the reservation service communication.

The place is pretty cute and a good vibe. They have quite a variety of tea, served in a pot for 1 or 2. Can also to go. The food is pretty much English cuisine, with scones and quiches. I had the jasmine green tea which not only tasted good and also I could smell the jasmine as I was sipping it. The tea did the job very well for me.

Loved visiting the London Tea Room at their new location! Menu has an extensive tea list plus a variety of sweet and savory dishes. Guests can order one type of tea with their meal and choose another tea to take home. Servers Seth and Thomas were great, will definitely be coming back!

I took my mom, aunt, and grandma to The London Tea Room for Afternoon Tea. We loved the atmosphere and the wait staff were amazing. We each picked a different tea so we could try 4 different kinds. Each tea was delicious. I loved the different flavors. The food was also delicious. I really loved the savory options and the scone with the clotted cream and jam. I’ll definitely be going back.

We went for a friend's birthday, and it was quite nice. The tea spread was fantastic, everything tasted good, and the price was fairly reasonable for what you get. The space is very cool as well, and while I didn't care for the high ceilings, as that made the whole place echo quite a lot, the décor was nice and the room itself was beautiful. I haven't seen any of the upstairs rooms, but I hear they're cool as well. We've been getting tea from them for years, but it was my first time at the new location and I have to say that I enjoyed it. We will be returning.

My girlfriends and I came to try this place out the other day, and it was great! We'd all gotten afternoon tea so it arrived neatly on a little tea tower, and I got to enjoy a pot of valerian root. The desserts were delightful, but if you're not into super sweet I'd trade a friend the macaroon for shortbread cookie. My only qualm was the crowd that poured in after an event, and the spacing between the tables where they bump up with others. I felt a little squished and it was hard returning to the dining room from the restroom when there was a crowd at the entrance shop.

My friend and I go here ALL the time for afternoon tea and we love it! Never disappoints us and the tea selection always rotates so we are able to try new teas every time we go! I recommend booking at least a month in advance because they have limited afternoon tea spots available, but if you aren’t able to book an afternoon tea, they also have a cafe which serves British staples (and where you can get pots of tea to enjoy as well). After we have our tea, we always make it over to the tea retail area and buy our favorites to last us until next time we come! So all in all, a great place to come, relax, and drink tea and have brunch!

First time here. We had the High Tea. Of the items on the presentation. I really love the Waldorf chicken salad packed with deliciousness, the sausage roll, and the cucumber sandwich very refreshing. Loved the Persuasion tea,a green tea with fruit aroma. Lovely atmosphere with Jane Austin's movies music playing in the background. Know what you want when the waitress comes the first time, or you will have to wait a long, long time for their return.

We really enjoyed the Jane Austen High Tea at the London Tea Room. The special tea called Pemberley was delicious and the food was excellent. The service was great - the server was the same server we had last time and he is excellent. All of the little touches for the special events make each event memorable, eg Jane Austen trivia quiz, special teas and special themed desserts. We recommend the London Tea Room for afternoon tea and their special events!

Lovely experience. We purchased the afternoon tea for 2 people and the portion sizes large enough that we will just get 1 next time and share. If using Google maps on Uber be aware the old address appears still. We went to the wrong address first but we had a reservation and it still held even though we were 20mins late.

We had a wonderful time. The atmosphere is great and you do not feel rushed while there. This is a great place just to relax and talk while enjoying some tea and treats. All the food and tea were great. The staff was very nice and attentive. I would venture to guess if you had any issues they would make it right. Believe the 5 Star comments.

4.5 *! We had a lovely time celebrating my daughter’s 4th birthday! We bought a “wee tea” and she loved the pastries had a blast pouring the cream in her tea. 🥰 The pastries were delicious! I will say the pictures on the website are slightly misleading, it’s $37 for the adult regular tea and pastries and that’s one serving. (There are three adult servings on the plates pictured, so a total of about $100). We loved the salmon bagel and the Jane Austin themed desserts! (It was a Wednesday in February). The tea was great too! The only downside that kept this from being a 5* experience was the service was a little slow. There was 1 waiter for the whole room, and by the time we got our second pot of tea we had finished eating and were ready to leave. Excellent experience all together though!

Recently had my Baby Shower for High Tea and it was Perfect. The decor was beautiful we didn't need to bring anything and the service was excellent. Mel the Event Coordinator was helpful from the start and she was present at my event. Not to mention the food was yummy! I highly recommend The London Tea Room and will be back again!
