Amazing hostel! Friendly staff, I arrived around 11am and they allowed me to check in early. The room is clean. Good beds, good shower and good AC. Great breakfast in the morning with various things to eat, coffee and fresh juice. Also the location is perfect! One of the best hostels I stayed in. Highly recommended

Great hostel. Fantastic location on Tahrir Square near Egyptian Museum. Helpful and friendly staff. Strong A/C. I appreciated the physical arrangement of the dorm room. Each bed had three walls and a curtain. It almost felt like I had my own room. Kind of a capsule hotel feel. I would return.

Our group of 10 people stayed at Tahrir for a week. The team is very friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay, organizing transports, providing huge breakfast with plenty of options. Amazing price and good quality accommodation. I spent only $66 for 6 nights stay. The place has nice, helpful and hospitable staff who can answer all your questions and help with your travel. They offer breakfast including fresh juices. The bed in a drom room was very comfortable and very private, the location is the top centre.

The stay of several nights in the shared room was good. I liked the breakfasts and enjoyed talking with other guests. But all that was spoiled after I checked out of the shared room saying that I wanted a single, private room because my friend would join me later that afternoon and he might stay the night. I was packed and on the way out to book a different place, but she showed me the private room and bathroom that looked okay and she said it would be fine and took my money. But when my friend showed up a few hours later, first another guy who works there spoke to him unkindly in Egyptian (which I don’t understand) saying he can’t go to the room. I took him there because I had already clearly arranged it. The interaction became more unkind. I said that if it had become a problem, I’d simply like my money back and would leave since I had barley used the room and it was around 4 pm and I had specifically moved to the private room for the reason I had explained. I’ve lived in Egypt for more than a year previously. I have friends here. They refused any refund. I felt more upset when the woman, to cover herself, lied by saying I had made the reservation for 1, when I clearly told her the reason for my move to the private room. Then she blamed me for not specifying that he’s Egyptian, rather than a non-Arab foreigner (which would have been okay). Of course he’s Egyptian. We’re in Egypt. -I would have preferred she not lie. -I would have preferred that my Egyptian friend be treated with the same respect I’m used to as a “foreigner.” -I would have preferred that they not get my friend on the phone with the manager in Egyptian (while I was busy preparing to leave as they refused to let him sit with me even 5 minutes in the room) when the dispute was with me. -I would have preferred, since she gave me the wrong information, that they simply give my money back instead of sneer that “he knew the policy that Egyptians can’t stay with foreigners.” It’s a racist policy, If it exists at all since we’re both males. It’s one thing to follow such a policy. It’s another to do so in an unpleasant, disrespectful way toward my friend. We left the hostel and I checked into a much nicer, more expensive hotel, with my friend, where we were much happier, actually, and it was no problem at all. We were treated very well at the other hotel. I for sure will never return to this hostel unless they apologize with sincerity and offer my money back, like I asked. I also tried calling more than once and left a message through Booking before writing this review. I got no answer. It is seldom-to-never that I write a negative review. They upset me.

Our stay was excellent. The staff was great and helpful. They did not try to sell you things or tours but did have good information. The hostel was clean, and breakfast was good. My bf and I opted for a private room. The one with 2 twin beds was available, which were comfy and huge. We thought it was worth the price because one could easily fit 4-6 people in bunk beds in that room. There were plenty of bathrooms with good showers (hot water, doors closed, etc). The hostel faces away from the street, so it is not noisy, super key for Egypt…and you get to stay in the main square of the city where all the big chain hotels are. They even helped me with my laundry and offered us to shower way after check out before our overnight train. I absolutely recommend this place!

I can’t thank enough the staff for what they’ve done for us. We were a group of 9 trying to enjoy our last days in Cairo ,after a horrible experience in a nearby “hostel”, they offered to take care of our luggage while we were visiting the city, since we couldn’t trust our previous place.Thank you very much for your hospitality, I hands down recommend this hostel.

Great location with walking distance to the Egyptian Museum and easy access to shops and restaurants. Friendly staffs, with lovely smiles and helpful attitude; they greeted & met me and saw me off by the car and even offered me free shower and breakfast upon arrival after my exhausting long night flight. I booked a private room with double bed which was very clean with great water pressure in the shower and hair dryer installed in the bathroom. Not to mention their breakfast would always start your day right!

I just came back after 4 days at Tahir Square Hostel in Cairo. The staff is really lovely, great and helpful. They have good suggestions for me on how to organize my days without selling any tour and they were always up for a chat. The hostel is clean, and breakfast was good giving you a taste of Cairo. The beds are so comfortable that let you forget the noisy Cairo. The position let you reach any spot super easily. Strongly recommended if you are looking for a safe and cozy place where to stay.

DO NOT BOOK! They canceled my private ensuite booking 5 days before arrival. Sent me no notice, created a fake email and a screenshot of the fake email through Whatsapp. ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Will never book or stay with them.

Highly recommended hostel！ Comfy bed and very clean toilet. They can help arrange one-day tours, two-day black and white desert tours, and they also provide breakfast. Noura is the best egyptian girl I have ever met, always smiling and helping us with our problems. I spent an unforgettable last day of 2022 here! I met interesting people from various countries here!

The worst experience I have had since years in more than 20 countries, dishonesty and lake of responsibility and commitment to their customers. I have booked a room with a private bathroom using Hostelworld app and paid it online, couple of days before arriving to Cairo, I have sent an email to inform them that my wife and I would be arriving around 4 am and that's why I made sure that I booked a night earlier to make sure that the room will be free and ready when I get there. Surprisingly, I have had the last answer that I could ever expect to a confirmed paid reservation, I got an answer from them saying that they have to cancel my reservation as it is already booked. I was really loosing my mind, didn't really get the point how could they book the room again while I have already booked it and paid it two month in advance before my travel, I had to call them twice to finally reach someone of the reception. Mr yussuf has finally got to answer my call and told me, I am sorry, I cannot help it, but you will need to cancel the reservation on Hostelworld ( apparently because they cannot do it themselves, not to get their rewie rate less). It was totally clear they gave it to someone else they personally know without paying any kinda respect to those who already booked it and arranged their travel depending on this reservation. So I had to make the choice either to ignore what he was saying regarding canceling the reservation, and go their at the time with my confirmation and call the tourism police if I don't get the room I paid for and report them for a fraud, or just to book somewhere else and get rid of the whole thing and rest after a 14 hours flights to Cairo. I have preferred the second option but I would really never recommend this place if you don't wanna get surprised ending up one night in the streets of Cairo searching for a room and finally get a double priced one because of the late reservation. I wish you all a safe travel.

(They had an issue with the Visa card machine, I should be fair that they said it was with the bank and the bank branch was closed during the vacation once I arrived... rather than that everything was more than good for the value.)

I had an amazing experience at this peaceful cozy hostel in the heart of Tahrir Square. The staff are so kind and helpful, they do everything to make you feel at home. Anything you want they will try to bring it to you without charging you with any extra money. This was my first time in Cairo and I was nervous as my flight was arriving at a very inconvenient time, but still they managed to come and pick me up from the airport at 3am for free! There was a special free pick up from the airport offer, but still that was very kind of them to come this late. If you are a woman travelling alone, and need a place where you can feel safe and comfortable, this is your best option in Cairo. The stay at this hostel was fantastic. It is located in the center of Cairo at Tahrir Square. The place has a comfortable seating area right outside the entrance, and another one at the reception. There is also a kitchen to have snacks and drink tea or juice. The person at the reception (Yussef) was very welcoming and helpful when we had questions about what to see and do in Cairo and how to travel by bus when we left.

the owner of this hostel could not solve the problem with my booking i had to go to another place, then he refused to give a heater, he shouted at me with rude words. I do not advise. i'm still crying

A Boutique style Hostal with less than 15 beds, serving warmth, generosity, service and most importantly, CONSISTENCY! Also, amazingly, SOUNDPROOF ROOMS!! GREETED by Lula(Walla'a), I was made to feel at home. Perfect and here is the Warmth of WELCOME! Dua'a explained history of Place and it's Ethos! Ibrahim was happy to chat, at 2am Lamia made me delicious and Nutritious, fresh breakfast... Not a Pre-made. Yes indeed. I WAS SORRY, I did not know of here, in previous visits. Thank You all.
