A small little restaurant inside the luxurious Intercontinental hotel that has live music playing downstairs in the evenings which is amazing. The restaurant itself is classy and beautiful. Asian food is so hard to find in Egypt so I'm very grateful for this place - even though it's not as authentically Thai in it's flavours as it could be, good food is good and we enjoyed our dinner very much. Would definitely come back!!

They do a fantastic job here! I have been several times now (living in Cairo 1.5 years, tried all the Thai spots in Cairo, this one is the best, and I will be back again). 5 FOOD! 3 SERVICE! Authentic Thai Cuisine! The SOUPS may have been my favorite part. The Tom Kha Coconut soup and Tom Yam Spicy shrimp were delicious and took me back to Thailand. ALL Dishes were plated and presented well and tasted DELICIOUS! We also ordered wine, spicy beef salad, spring rolls, and two entrees! My only issue was that they did not recommend the ‘Tasting Menu’ to my partner and I after seeing us order several courses! It would have been more cost effective and we would have gotten a chance to try more dishes. I couldn’t tell if it was the language barrier, racism or simple oversight on the part of our server. (We are Ghanaian, When I asked ‘why?’ no one could explain, yet it was offered to a table next door to ours) Overall GOOD experience. Just wish this restaurant was overlooking the NILE like their Italian one.

First off came here for my wife's birthday on our last night in the hotel. Walked in and the decor is amazing. We were greeted so warmly by all the staff. The food was amazing!!!!!! And I mean everything!!! I ordered the chef's recommend meal and my wife ordered shrimp fried rice and the egg rolls and vegetable noodles. Also the seafood soup was great. Excellent service and really tasty food. Everything was really good. I had the chicken and beef skewers, noodle and beef soup and the duck for my main. The sauce with the duck was awesome. My husband had the shrimp, chicken soup and lamb and he enjoyed it all as well.

We feel so lucky to have found this Thai hidden gem in the heart of Cairo! It is located in the luxury hotel Intercontinental Semiramis, and as the hotel, the restaurant provides you with the same feeling of luxury. The staff was incredible and adapted to our needs and provided recommendations on the menu based on our likings. Especially the staff members that served and helped us during our dining experience, Hany and Wahil. We ended up ordering the spring rolls, chicken satay, green curry and pad thai, followed by some red wine and fried banana for dessert. Not only the flavours took us to a little getaway to south eastern asia, but the decoration they were presented in was outstanding. We loved every single one of the dishes and if you are unsure with what to order, totally recommend them (and please finish off with the delicious fried banana balls!) Birdcage is IDEAL for a romantic date or to celebrate on a special occasion. My only regret is not being able to dine here more than once during our trip!
