Grand Palace? Lol. The place rather looks like from a horror movie set. The hotel is on the 6th floor of an abandoned looking building. Broken lift. At check in they told us they needed to keep our passports for 30 minutes until the system builds up. We needed to ask to change the bedsheets because they were dirty. Hair on the pillow. No hot water at all. Dirty, absolutely dirty room, wires sticking out of the wall, paint patches all over the floor, mold on the balcony. I honestly thought cockroaches will run around at any second. Way too noisy from the street below. At breakfast the coffee was foamy from not being washed, rinsed properly. 2 pieces of old roll with some cheese. Just run!

I don't know how to describe this. You arrive in front of what appears to be an abandoned or condemned building. Broken elevators take you to the 6th floor where there is the reception of this hotel. Rooms were old and dirty, not enough towels or water pressure. Breakfast was three pieces of what passes for bread in Egypt, an egg, two pieces of cheese and some jam, with Nescafe. A Russian couple walked out of breakfast in disgust. For what we paid, it was an incredible disappointment. Stray dogs barking and howling all night. More of a hotel for local Egyptian businessmen or soldiers.

The bad rezensions are true. Filthy rooms, there was an ugly smell in the room, AC worked at least, breakfast was dry bread with marmelade, one egg and instant coffee. But the staff was friendly and mostly good willing. All in all I felt quite uncomfortable so I don't recommend going there.

I lost a bag that included my passport and lived a nightmare during my most recent trip to Cairo. The staff here was so helpful, kind, and accommodating during my trip. I rarely ever post reviews online following any experience at a place, but wanted to tell everyone how great this place is! 1) Location- The hotel is located a few blocks from Tahrir Square in Downtown Cairo. The street is perfect for those looking for a refuge from the loud, bustling streets of Cairo, but still want to be close enough to experience the excitement of Cairo! There are also a number of shops, restaurants, and small stores around. You can find anything you'd like within walking distance! 2) Hotel- The hotel itself is on the sixth floor of a building that appears to be dimly lit and a little scary upon entry. When you get to the sixth floor, it is a whole new world! It is sparkling and well-lit. The rooms themselves are also great- they feature a balcony, a shower, with hot water and great water pressure, a television (!!!) and AC. I was really impressed both with the cleanliness and how well the (very patient) housekeeping staff maintained my room every night during the stay. 3) Staff- The staff of the hotel made my trip to Cairo as good as it can possibly be when you lose your passport while traveling alone in a foreign country. They greeted me upon my arrival, helped me settle in ,gave me advice on how to proceed, and even gave me their phone to call the embassy when I came back very frantic (and very late!) from the police station. They were also super calm, understanding, and accommodating when I had to suddenly extend my trip two days due to having trouble with replacing my passport. I genuinely appreciate the kindness, support, and warmth they showed me during my trip to Cairo.

If you book through booking.com be aware you need to pay cash in a foreign currency on arrival plus taxes (ie US, UK, Euro). The gentleman on reception were friendly and helpful; wrote down addresses in Arabic for us for taxis, had a hairdryer I could use, etc. The comparison to a UK equivalent hotel though would I think be a 2 star(maybe 3) though so keep that in mind.

the worst treatment we have ever met, the employee was very rude and he was shouting for a silly reason and he offended us, i have never been treated this way in any hotel in the world.

For the price it is excellent, it don’t expect the hilton. Staff very friendly and incredibly helpful. I arranged 2 trips via them and they were outstanding and very well priced with a private guide (not with 20 others me on my own 1 On 1). Yasmin was extremely knowledgeable and I would definitely ask for her opinion n any future visits. The only complaint is the wifi is a bit hit and miss but fine In the lobby

The team is helpful, check-in and check-out is fast, the place is close to many services, but the room lacks a lot of main services, noisy because it is close to the reception and it is very close to the corridor, so you hear any dialogue in the reception, the size of the room is very small, and there are electrical problems, some buttons are not It does not work, and the bed is uncomfortable, as for the bathroom, it does not have its amenities such as shampoo and shower gel other than the regular soap only.

To be honest this place is not clean. The shower is terrible. I guess the drain hole in the wrong place has to do with that. The location is great and is easy to get anywhere from there. The tour the receptionists recommend is somewhat expensive. Just get it elsewhere.

Odd location in an older 8 story building. Gracious host, lovely employees, tasty breakfast, clean rooms (we had one with a little balcony) in a good, central location. Great value.

I never seen such a dirty place like this! Horrible smell and bathroom with worms Be careful this hotel is big scam ! Pictures on booking have nothing to do with reality

Very basic hotel, at the sixth floor of a building, old furnished but overall I had a pleasant experience cause of the stuff and cause of its location, right next to Tahrir square and the Egyptian museum

Amazing staff, the hotel is at the 6th floor of an old building so at the beginning you get confused and don't know how to get in but just take the elevator to the 6th floor and the reception is there. Tuhamy and Fikheriya are 2 amazing team members that will steal your heart. I totally recommend it

This place is dirty AF. 5 star reviews must be paid for. Bed sheets dirty with hair and blood 🩸 stains. Dirty walls. Couldn’t even hook my fire stick up 2 the pathetic tv. Wi-Fi is trash 🗑. Most ppl staying here look like locals who may not have much money. Didn’t even bother with breakfast since the room was dirty. Staff entered my room to fix some broken lights right when trying to eat dinner. Got bit up by something that left nasty marks. Book airbnb instead for ur stay and tours.
