This is one very nice upscale hotel located in the heart of Cairo's trendy Zamalek neighborhood. Everything, Including great restaurants, serving a wide selection ofm dishes, upscale shops of every kind imaginable, as well as all the facilities and perks you'd find in any major cosmopolitan European or American city can easily be found here. I spent a week here exploring, eating, walking, eating some more, while attempting to communicate with the locals in what best could best be described as "pigeon Arabic". Zamalek is a very safe, active, exciting area in which most European and American visitors would find themselves very much at home. Other than the obvious communication issues I experienced, my entire week was almost perfect. I'd highly recommend this hotel at the astronomical daily cost of around $54.00 which included a substantial nreakfast

The only good place about the hotel is location. Considering prices in Cairo it’s more on the expensive side. Everything is old and run down. No one did any refurbishment there probably when the hotel was built. Service is slow, their English is pretty bad for the central location. For the same price we could have stayed in local Airbnb located in Zamalek as well but newly renovated. The pool was surprisingly clean. On yeah on the “clean” part. For any Europeans travelling here for the 1st time, they really need to adjust their expectation on what clean here looks like. All the paces here look great at night with just a few lights but during the day it’s a different story, hotels are not an exception here.

Re located to this hotel to save money on my last night in Cairo Zamalek area. It costs 70 USD for a night with taxes included which is almost half the price of other hotels in Zamalek. The room I got was very spacious, it had a kitchen area with a fridge and cooker along with a TV lounge for relaxing. The bathroom was spacious too. Complimentary toiletries, fresh towels and free drinking water with tea/coffee also provided. The room was dated and needed refurbishment but was adequate for short stays. The swimming pool on the roof was operational, other parts of the common areas seem like they have seen better days. However for me personally one of the best aspects was the spacious and well equipped gym and a steam room and sauna which were free for guests to use. The price I paid was worth it because 2 guests could have stayed for that price. I travel a lot and I compare places a lot, this place in Zamalek island in Cairo is a fantastic location with many interesting cafes/ restaurants and shops nearby. Yes the hotel needs refurbishment but that would also push the price up. The staff were great and had reasonably good english language skills, I managed to pay 35 USD (half day rate) on the second day because I had a midnight flight and kept my room until 8.30pm.

I went to Cairo January 2022 and booked this hotel for 6 days. I don’t even know where to start. It was dirty, I could actually see the accumulation of dirt on the carpet, I showed it to the guy at the front desk and he acted like it was normal lol. I had them show me three different rooms because literally every room I saw was awful. The room I ended up staying in for the night, when I pulled the blanket back, there was a blood stain on my sheet. The beds were either lumpy or uneven, every time I left the hotel and came back, reception would always ask me what room I was going to, overall just awful. After 24 hours, I checked out and went to the intercontinental which was amazing 10/10. I lost the money I spent at this hotel for the remaining 5 days but I had to get out of there. I would only recommend you stay here if budget is tight. To the owners of this hotel, please invest in cleaners, it’s fine that the hotel is out dated but it at least be clean.

The building needs lots of improvements, the carpets not vacuumed, in order to use the bathroom i had to use wipes to clean the bathtub and the toilet, after taking a shower I realized the water leak through the wall in the bathtub and the whole bathroom floor was flooded. The personnel was very good, trying their best though. The laundry service it's really good.

Location, security, and pool are all good... but this place is way past its prime and severely neglected. I think the bedding was clean (maybe I'm just telling myself that), but nothing else was... The rooms had dust everywhere, stains on the carpet, stained/yellowed/mildewed shower curtain, crumbling ceiling tiles, wires coming out of the walls... i had to put a screw back in the doorframe with my fingers just to close my door one night. If you're just looking for a "clean bed", view of the Nile, and pool - go for it, but I'd suggest looking to put your money in a nice airbnb or other hotel before booking here.

Great location, spaceous rooms, attentive staff. Hotel does need thorough cleaning. Wifi rather weak. No own breakfast, but the cafés downstairs are great. And the view from the rooms is very impressive

Location is everything in Cairo! Trust me, this is a great hotel at an affordable price in the best part of the city. The hotel is a bit older but it is clean and the staff is incredibly helpful and kind. A big thank you to the assistant general manager, Sherif Nabil for being so accommodating and ensuring my stay was pleasant. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and the Nile is just a stones throw away.

They said a room with breakfast was 80$. The breakfast was very very poor. They said there will be no open buffet cause of covid. But the room breakfast was very poor; they didn't even bring the right utensils. You can get a much better breakfast at other hotels for less per night. Hotel is nice and kept up. We faced plumbing problems but they offered to change the room immediately.

Comfortable, however very dated. The porter spoke English better than the lady at reception and he was very helpful. Location is close to shops, restaurants and entertainment. The view from our balcony was great.

This hotel is as ancient as Egyptian civilization. STAY AWAY. But partake, if you like: 1) car, motorcycle honking revving of engines and lots of traffic noises. 2) a room that is DISGUSTINGLY OLD AND smells of cigarette smoke. 3) showers wherever decided not to even take a shower. All for $120 a night. RIP OFF!!!!

I’d never recommend staying at this hotel I stayed for four nights and it wasn’t the best among all my stay in Egypt the staff are really unprofessional reception staff named “ Rawan” was really rude regarding the room the AC was very loud and the shower water was rusty the toilet soap and shampoo wasn’t of a good quality at all , not to mention how so dim the lights are in the rooms , I had problem with my reservation and when I head to them to solve it the staff blamed me and the manager kept the same act , I’d never recommend it and never book their again

The Nile view is wonderful but the hotel itself is pretty old. Nevertheless, location is a big + and the area is busy but nice

Old properly full of rich memories. The Egyptian most famed singer Om Kalthom lived in a villa that occupied this location. Superb Nile view and safe neighbourhood.

Starting with the good parts, the staff at this hotel is fantastic and worthy of high praise. Everyone was incredibly helpful and courteous and I felt incredibly welcome. The Nile view from my room on the 16th floor was fantastic and I loved my balcony. For Cairo, the traffic noise was pretty mild. Where this hotel lost me was the room. You get zero in room amenities, no coffee maker, no water, no food service menu, no laundry service etc and the phone didn't even have a directory. You get a bed, towels, toiletries and that's it, period. The carpet/air in the room was dank, bathroom walls were crumbling. The place needs work. Ok if it were a budget hotel, but they charge a bit much for the state of the place. WiFi went down the last morning I was there, and was mediocre for the most part.

Stayed one night. Dirty and dusty. Not advisable for people with allergy like myself. Breakfast not provided also. The pool area on top of the hotel is also poorly maintained

Though a beautiful entrance and big potentially beautiful rooms I do have a few complaints. Thinnest walls I’ve ever seen. I could hear every single word of all my neighbours down to their toilet routine at 2am. The kitchen is unusable since there’s no utensils or cooking appliances, no fridge, no safe. Carpet wasn’t vacuumed for quite some time. Smell of cigarettes in the room while the AC is on. But the personnel was nice and the elevators fast and clean. If it wasn’t for the walls I’d put 4 stars but there’s improvements to make.

Though the personnel were nice, the stay was utterly not. The toilet in the bathroom was not fixed in place and it was likely that someone would fall off of it. There was a sudden leakage through the bathtub when I took a shower that messed up the while bathroom. The room might look good because of the nice view, but there was no kettle to make some tea, no microwave, not even kitchen utensils, and we had to order the blankets for the beds! I’d give them a three, but they need to improve a lot!

great location and great people, owner and staff.. With some changes, repairs, additions, and a good follow-up system, the place could be one of the best. It has a spirit many fancy hotels lack..

My partner and I visited Cairo and stayed in Om Kalthom Hotel. First thing first thing first, the staff was probably the nicest staff we have ever encountered. Everyone from the reception, to the security and the restaurant staff. They were always looking out for us and helped with anything we needed. My bag broke upon arrival and Sherif from the reception made sure it was repaired for me before I left. Soo incredibly nice :) The view was nice, and due to the low occupancy, the hotel has upgraded us to the top floor were we could see an amazing sunset every night. The only downsides were that due to limited tourism the pool was closed and the AC was not as strong as we needed it (we are from the UK, so heat is tough on us!). And lastly, the hotel was beautiful, very old school and traditional, it apparently used to belong to a famous singer and was later converted to a hotel. Definitely recommend alone for the friendly stuff and a very unique experience : )

This is the worest hotel that I ever seen in my life the receptionist who was there at night shift denied to cancel our reservation even though we explained we can not stay there because the room was filty, there was no shoe, we reserve single room but provide us connected room, they told us there is no suger even though Kittle was there, they make us pay 100$ for refundable reservation and there is no WI-FI i have a bad experience in this hotel that I can not recommend it to anyone, where the receptionist was not cooperative too.
