Very nice small museum. Very limited amount of carriages and a few old uniforms and saddles. Nice covered courtyard with the nicest carriages on display. Typical security to enter. Nice Uber drop spot right infront of entrance. 100egp per person. Buy tickets at the ticket booth, bring cash. Credit card option not always working. They allow pictures no flash.

It was established during the reign of Khedive Ismail "1863-1879" and some modifications were added to it during the reign of King Fuad "1917-1936". The museum consists of buildings consisting of carriage rooms, horse stables, special rooms for preparing horse crews, workshops for the train, housing for vehicle drivers, offices for workers and ambulance rooms, and it includes a group of royal carriages of different models. 1) The museum included carts, horse stables, special rooms for preparing horse crews, in addition to housing for car drivers, offices and ambulance rooms in 1969, and the Cairo governorate seized a large area of buildings and turned them into a garage belonging to it, according to the account of an antiquities inspector. [2] The museum also contains about 78 royal carriages of high historical value. 22 types of them are gifts from European countries to previous rulers, starting from the era of Khedive Ismail until the era of King Farouk the First. The most important of these Arab chariots were the Great Alai which Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie gifted to Khedive Ismail upon opening the Suez Canal in 1869, which the Khedive used in his wedding, as well as the use of stirrups during the reign of King Ahmed Fouad I to transport ambassadors of foreign countries. This is in addition to 7 vases and 20 cupboards made of wood and glass to store ceremonial clothes, various leather sets, and accessories for horse decorations. (Translated by Google) The Royal Rodeo Museum, or “Royal Vehicles Museum,” is one of the museums in Cairo in the Bulaq region, where all the “rides” or carriages that were used by the Egyptian royal family in the pre-revolutionary periods are displayed. The Royal Riding Museum was founded on a land that used to be a stable for horses, from which they used to go to the Gezira club, where the sport of horse racing and betting on them. The place also contained rooms in which carriages were shunted from the days of the rule of Khedive Ismail, Tawfiq, Abbas and Farouk also, and after the revolution the stable was canceled and transferred to Kitkat on Sudan Street In the building that was transformed into the social affairs unit and became the stable of Bulaq, the museum of the royal vehicles of the royal family and to the days of Farouk, and models of Pharaonic chariots and war wheels were added to it. I enjoyed visiting Royal Chariots museum hosted into a nice royal palace that is located in a safe area of Cairo, across the Nile. The place is very clean, staff helpfull, ticket price 100 EGP adult, 50 EGP student. I liked that this coquet museum was not crowdy as most of the Egyptian museums so that you can take your time and enjoy all the chariots that are very well preserved, very beutiful, most of them made in France (1917-1936). You can also admire the collection of paintings, clothes, jewelry, decorations belonging to the royal family. I recommend families with children to come to visit. They will not get borred. The visit will last about 1 hour and a half.

A very nice and neat small museum. The collection of Chariots is very rich. A small description of each chariot is written in Arabic and English clearly. The overall experience is great. It takes 30 - 40 min to finish it.

The Royal Vehicles Museum in Bulaq Abu Al-Ala is about to open after being closed for a period of maintenance and repairs. The Royal Vehicle Museum was established during the reign of Khedive Ismail (1863-1879), and it was named at the time of the Khudaiwi Communities Authority, then its name changed to the Royal Rakibs Authority in 1914 AD, then the Royal Rikers Authority in 1924 AD, and then its name finally turns into the Royal Rakib Museum in 1943. In 1978, the museum is considered one of the rarest museums, as it is the fourth of its kind in the world after the museums of Russia, England and Austria.

It's a nice museum but very small. Also that's actually not a bed thing. If you have some free time in Cairo an hour or so you can visit this museum and it wouldn't take much time to see all the exhibits.
