I
spent
6
fabulous
and
memorable
days
(all
too
short)
with
Real
Sudan
Tours
to
discover
the
breathtaking
country
that
is
Northern
Sudan.
I
had
been
communicating
with
Samir
Abbass
who
runs
the
company
for
quite
awhile
and
I
am
not
sure
why
I
did
not
jump
the
gun
earlier,
or
go
ahead
with
the
longer
agenda
like
I
wanted.
Nonetheless
it
was
a
perfect
6
days,
and
everything
about
the
country
-
from
its
stunning
geo-landscapes,
archaeological
wonders,
vibrant
culture
to
incredibly
kind
people
-
just
wants
me
to
go
back
now.
I
miss
it
already.
Communicating
with
Samir
was
efficient
and
professional.
He
is
responsive
on
Whatsapp
and
email.
He
structured
a
great
agenda
that
covers
a
whole
lot
-
Khartoum,
Karima,
Jebel
El
Barkl,
Meroë,
Naga,
Musawwarat,
and
all
these
cities,
nomadic
villages
and
the
desert
valleys
in
between.
The
distances
and
days
are
long,
but
they
are
worth
it
for
the
things
you
see
and
the
experiences
you
get.
His
team
-
Abdulsalem,
Saleh,
Jamal,
Ikhlas
-
were
all
wonderful
throughout.
Abdulsalem
was
my
primary
guide
-
an
archaeologist,
inspector
of
antiquities
pursuing
a
PhD.
They
all
though
were
comprehensive
in
their
knowledge
of
the
country
and
its
present
day
and
history.
They
highlighted
all
these
unique,
nuanced
details
about
Sudan,
but
also
the
challenges
people
face
to
survive.
They
exposed
me
so
much
to
the
people
and
life
there.
They
were
all
responsive,
kind,
attentive,
generous
and
just
generally
proud
of
their
country
and
people.
I
enjoyed
my
time
with
all
of
them
so
much
just
learning.
I
have
such
a
soft
spot
for
Jamal
-
the
kind
hearted
man
with
sparkling
eyes
would
drive
hundreds
of
kilometres
and
still
cook
you
these
amazing
meals
(Sudanese
food
is
amazing).
He
would
teach
me
Arabic
phrases,
and
care
about
me
like
I
am
his
own
daughter.
I
felt
sad
just
leaving
the
morning
of
my
last
day,
but
I
know
I
will
be
back.
Sudan
is
a
safe,
open
and
beautiful
country
with
so
much
to
see
and
offer
and
I
can’t
wait
until
the
day
my
next
trip
there
is
planned.
