The
unique
group
of
Sultan
Qansuh
Al-Ghuri
buildings
is
located
on
the
corner
of
the
historic
Al-Muizz
Street,
which
is
considered
the
longest
archaeological
street
in
the
world
at
its
intersection
with
Al-Ghoury
Street.
The
group
located
in
the
street
is
a
number
of
archaeological
sites
consisting
of
a
dome,
a
agency,
a
bathroom,
a
house,
a
bench,
a
path,
a
book,
and
its
gorge.
And
in
Al-Ghoury
Group,
we
find
that
each
establishment
has
a
function
that
it
performs
completely
independently
from
others.
Its
main
façade
was
built
of
famous
sculpted
lobed
stone
and
was
divided
into
four
longitudinal
sectors
all
crowned
by
a
group
of
balconies
that
take
the
shape
of
a
three-lobed
leaf,
and
the
creativity
of
the
architecture
is
evident
at
the
far
western
end
of
the
main
façade
of
the
group,
through
the
distribution
of
functional
architectural
elements
within
an
apse
A
recess,
crowned
with
two
rows
of
muqarnas,
contains
windows
for
lighting
and
ventilation
of
the
prayer
hall
and
the
khanqah.
It
is
a
prominent
architectural
block
representing
the
three-window
sabil.
In
addition
to
the
distribution
of
the
decorative
elements
of
this
apse
in
a
wonderful
harmony,
the
lower
section
was
divided
into
three
windows
and
closed
to
each
opening
two
wooden
sashes
overlaid
on
the
outside
with
metal
grilles.
The
Sabil
is
considered
one
of
the
most
prominent
features
of
the
Sultan
al-Ghuri
Group,
given
that
it
is
a
local-style
avenue
that
includes
three
sabil
windows,
all
of
which
overlook
Al-Azhar
Street
and
Al-Muizz
Li
Din
Allah
Street.
This
archaeological
facility
includes
three
facades,
the
first
is
the
main
one
on
the
northern
side,
overlooking
Al-Azhar
Street
and
containing
the
main
entrance,
which
is
a
simple
entrance
preceded
by
a
stone,
and
in
the
center
of
it
is
a
rectangular
door
opening
to
which
a
wooden
door
closes
with
a
single
shutter,
the
entrance
crowned
by
a
triple
arch.
In
the
space
between
the
entrance
and
the
basin,
there
are
two
windows
for
lighting
and
ventilation
of
the
water
collection
basin
from
the
cistern,
and
the
north-eastern
façade
ends
with
the
first
basin,
which
is
a
rectangular
window
opening
covered
with
a
veil
of
metal
grilles
topped
by
a
stone
lintel
with
geometric
decorations.
The
apse
adjacent
to
the
sabil
was
designed
in
a
rectangular
shape.
It
was
crowned
by
two
rows
of
muqarnas
that
were
divided
into
two
parts.
The
lower
one
consists
of
two
rectangular
openings
for
two
windows.
Each
opening
is
above
a
lintel
made
of
stone
castanets,
in
addition
to
an
inscription
that
reads:
“He
commanded
the
construction
of
this
blessed
dome,
Mawlana
Sultan
Al-Alam.
The
Just
Mujahid,
the
Mujahid,
Al-Mu`ayyad
Al-Mu`ayyad
Al-Mansur
Saif
Al-Dunya
and
the
Religion,
the
Sultan
of
Islam
and
the
Muslims,
the
one
who
revives
justice
in
the
worlds.
As
for
the
front
of
the
book,
it
is
represented
by
a
double-tapered
arcade
and
resting
on
a
marble
column
with
a
cylindrical
body,
a
base
and
an
Islamic-style
crown,
each
of
which
defines
the
decoration
of
the
player's
peat.
A
rectangular
lobby,
the
flooring
of
which
is
covered
with
stone
tiles,
and
its
ceiling
is
covered
with
a
streaked
wooden
ceiling.
To
the
right
of
the
interior
of
the
lobby
there
is
a
rectangular
corridor,
the
floor
of
which
is
furnished
with
fine
marble,
and
at
the
end
of
it
is
a
rectangular
door
opening
to
which
a
wooden
door
from
one
shutter
that
leads
to
the
bathing
room
closes.
Through
a
door
leading
to
an
ascending
staircase
to
a
nice
corridor
overlooking
Al-Azhar
Street,
the
visitor
arrives
at
the
khanqah,
which
was
designated
for
the
Imam
of
the
school,
as
indicated
in
the
al-Ghuri
document,
while
the
aforementioned
door
opening
on
the
northeastern
side
of
the
prayer
hall
leads
to
a
descending
staircase
leading
to
the
funeral
yard.
The
khanqah
is
an
open,
rectangular
area
supervised
by
five
entrances,
four
of
which
are
corridors
that
open
to
the
funerary
courtyard
and
the
fifth
to
the
entrance
to
the
corridor
leading
to
Muizz
Street.
