(Translated by Google) Al-Nasir Muhammad bin Qalawun Mosque in the castle. Before the establishment of the mosque, the site of the mosque was a small mosque and stores for furniture in the castle. The Sultan Al-Nasir Muhammad bin Qalawun removed it and established this place in 1318, and in 1334 he demolished and rebuilt it, and decided to teach jurisprudence with it. The Madrasa of Al-Nasir Muhammad is a madrasa and mausoleum located in the Bayn al-Qasrayn area of al-Muizz street in Cairo, Egypt. It was built in the name of the Mamluk sultan Al-Nasir Muhammad ibn Qalawun, but its construction began between 1294 and 1295 under the reign of Sultan Al-Adil Kitbugha, who was sultan in between Al-Nasir Muhammad's first and seconds reigns.

One of the most beautiful places on Al Mu'izz Ledin Illah Street. The masoleum inside is magnificent. For foreigners, the price is 100 le, but that ticket gets you into 7 different buildings all along Al Mu'izz. Well worth it.

Cairo Sultan Mansur qalawoun group A sultan Qalawun is one of the famous landmarks in Cairo can also be considered as the beginning of a new boom in the architectural design stage because the idea of composite construction were not uncommon in the old days especially when they are not architectural components rather mixed intended for more than one purpose. For example, the Qalawun complex was designed to be a school, a hospital (maristan) and a shrine at the same time. Location: The Qalawun complex is located on Al Muizz Ladin Allah Street in the area known as "between the two palaces" which was part of the Western Fatimid Palace in ancient times. Activities: * Take a tour of the place, find out the history of the building. * Take pictures next to the mausoleum for the presence of Islamic inscriptions and exquisite wooden decorations. Entrance fees: Entry prices range from 5 pounds to 10 pounds Source: Property Finder

(Translated by Google) This mosque was located on Al-Muizz Li Din Allah Street at a site between the dome of the King Al-Mansur Qalawun and the Barquq Mosque. The construction of the just king began to be built by Al-Malik Al-Tebugha Al-Mansouri in the year 695 AH / 1295 AD when the king of Egypt took over after Al-Nasir Muhammad bin Qalawn was deposed in the year 694 AH / 1294 AD. Shown on its interface. Mosque of Nasser Muhammad bin Qalawn File: Naser qalaw2.JPG The facade of the mosque, and the decorative inscriptions appear on it About impact The state of creation, the Maritime Mamelukes The name Al-Monsha` was started by Al-Adil as Kitabugha, and was completed by Al-Nasir Muhammad Ibn Qala`un The year of establishment is 695 AH / 1295 AD The site is Al-Muizz Street to the Religion of God Notes - Then it happened that the just king was deposed before he could complete it, and Al-Nasir Muhammad bin Qalawn assumed power, and when Al-Nasir Muhammad returned to his possession in 698 AH / 1299 AD, he ordered its completion and construction was completed in the year 703 AH / 1304 AD and attributed to him. This mosque was built on the system of orthogonal schools, as it is an open courtyard surrounded by four iwans, of which only two remain now: the qibla iwan and the iwan opposite it, while the other two iwans have been destroyed, and some new buildings have replaced them. Nothing remains of the qibla iwan except for the mihrab, with its magnificent marble pillars, and its envelope with prominent stucco decoration, and a hollow one that attests to the other stucco ornaments on top and the opposite to the front of the western iwan, as this industry reached the sophistication and art of the Mamluk era. On the right of the interior, from the archway leading to the courtyard, there is a door leading to the dome, and only the neck and muqarnas of its corners remain. The facade is built of stone and still preserves many of its ancient features. It is decorated with shallow rows. At the bottom there are three windows with lintels topped by arches decorated with ornaments carved in stone, and these rows end at the top with wonderful muqarnas. A style extends along the direction, with the name of Al-Nasir Muhammad written on it, who replaced the name Katbugha and the date of the start of work, and crowned with serrated balconies. The most important thing that draws attention to the façade of the mosque is the marble door, which, in its Gothic style, is considered a stranger to Islamic architecture. . At the top of the entrance there is a lighthouse consisting of three layers, the first is square, the sides of which are decorated with beautiful stucco ornaments and inscriptions, and finished with muqarnas from which the first layer was formed, the second layer is octagonal and ended with other muqarnas that formed the second cycle, and the third layer, which is the upper, is modern. The mosque and school are part of the Cairo Open Air Museum project, and are being restored at the present time Quoting from Wikipedia (Original)

Its a very historic place dating back to the 11 century AD and an amazing site. But as most things are in egypt its treated as if its really nothing. A 3D model od the place was available but was partially destroyed by the ignorance of the people working there i presume. There was no tour guides or anybody for that matter that showed us around, we literally went there and used Wikipedia to understand this magnificent sight.
