Al-Salhdar
It
is
one
of
the
mosques
that
was
established
in
the
era
of
the
Viceroy
Muhammad
Ali
Pasha
in
Egypt,
located
at
the
beginning
of
the
hot
Bergoan
from
Al
Moez
Street.
Established
by
Prince
Suleiman
Agha
Al-Saldar,
born
in
the
eighteenth
century,
he
rose
to
positions
during
the
reign
of
Muhammad
Ali
Pasha
Al-Kabir,
to
the
position
of
Al-Saldar,
who
is
responsible
for
the
weapon,
and
was
famous
for
the
abundance
of
construction,
and
seized
the
loot
from
many
buildings
in
Cairo
and
used
them
in
his
own
buildings,
according
to
his
need
And
he
played
an
important
role
in
political
life
in
Egypt
during
the
reign
of
Muhammad
Ali
Pasha,
as
he
was
one
of
four
people
who
masterminded
the
massacre
of
the
castle
with
Muhammad
Ali,
and
he
died
on
15
Dhu
al-Qi'dah
1261
AH
/
15
November
1845
CE,
as
it
was
written
on
his
gravestone
in
the
burial
compartment
that
he
had
prepared
For
himself
and
his
family
in
the
neighboring
slaves.
The
construction
took
two
years
(1253-1255
AH
=
1837-1839
AD),
and
the
mosque,
which
is
currently
located
in
Al-Moez
Street
to
the
religion
of
God,
is
suspended
under
a
school
and
commercial
stores,
the
proceeds
of
which
are
spent
on
building
and
maintaining
the
rituals
in
the
mosque.
It
consists
of
a
rectangle
divided
into
two
squares,
the
western
square
includes
the
sanctuary
of
the
mosque,
i.e.
its
courtyard,
which
is
a
courtyard
surrounded
by
arcades
on
its
four
sides
covered
by
small
shallow
domes
based
on
marble
columns.

The
courtyard
covers
a
wooden
ceiling,
in
the
middle
of
which
opens
an
opening
(a
rattle)
for
ventilation,
lighting
and
protecting
the
mosque
from
rain
if
it
falls.
As
for
the
eastern
square,
it
contains
the
place
of
prayer,
and
it
consists
of
two
pilasters,
each
of
which
contains
two
columns
of
marble
on
which
round
arches
are
supported.
The
two
pilasters
divide
the
place
of
prayer
into
three
arcades
parallel
to
the
qibla
wall.
The
prayer
site
is
covered
with
a
wooden
ceiling
decorated
with
oil-colored
patterns.
The
qibla
wall
is
surrounded
by
a
marble
mihrab.
