An amazing structure that represents the wholesale trade operation in the 19th century. Imported goods from Syria and Yemen were stored and sold to retailers. The wekalah had space for traveling merchants to spend the night in hotel type rooms. Unfortunately, the location is not very well kept and quite dusty. However, if you are in El Moez street, visiting Wekalat Bazaraa is worthwhile.

Used to be a traditional Inn for traders to rest & let their horses eat & drink...now I guess it's more like a cultural center

I visited with a small group of friends in 2018. Amazing restoration and worth the challenge of finding the entrance!! We spent a great morning exploring the rooms of the Wekalet. The archeologist/docent, Mohamed Fauzi was so welcoming and spent alot of time with us explaining all the details and history of this significant monument.
