This area has changed a lot in the last few years. there are more venders and i think they are making better use of the space. but its still not a major attraction but an important transit point from one part of the city to another. or even another city altogether. There are also two large masajid in the area as well. but its a real hustle and bustle kind of spot at night. be careful. people are normally impatient and agitated down there. move with caution

Midan Ramses is the name of the large square on front Cairo main railway station Ramses Station and the district of streets and neighborhoods surrounding it. It is located immediately north of the city center, Midan Tahrir. Ramses Square is not considered the most attractive part of modern Cairo but it have massive local market as it is a core point of Cairos transportation system, notorious for swirling traffic and massive crowds at peak hours, though many tourists leave out of the station on overnight trains into southern Egypt.

Ramsis Square is the closest place to Cairo train station, a lot of ancient places on old Cairo like The Bab Al-Shaariya area, as well as the Ataba area, which is famous for its clothes, the Al-Hussein area, Al-Azhar Mosque, Tahrir Square and the Tahrir Square, which witnessed the revolution of the twenty-fifth of January of 2011.

Central area, you can go anywhere from there. But overcrowded and many micro buses drivers are unpolite, government must take an action to limit this chaos.

The square itself is'nt a cultural landmark anymore, maybe more commercial than cultural The train station itself from the inside is a landmark architecturally speaking

There you can get buses or trains to different parts of Cairo, as well as other provinces. A lot of items are on display in different stores, along the streets, you could buy what you need by walking around.
