New Star Zamalek Hotel

Hotel

😠 We showed up today to the hotel and it looks like they didn’t change the sheets in our bed. The pillows and covers are all over the place but they said it was the only room left. It’s 11 o’clock and we have no other options. Super sketchy and f’ed up! People often mention room, hotel, rooms, good, staff, service, stay, friendly, great,

This was listed as 3-star hotel at the time I was selecting it for booking. In reality the quality of the hotel way far below of their listing. With cleanliness and things falling apart I felt it is not more than a 1-star hotel. Falling apart door handles, large visible stains on furniture, overfreezing refrigerator, cracked mirror, never cleaned room service or changed bedding, no hot water with barely flowing faucet, clogged shower drain, no decent utensils except cheap plastic ones, half burned out or missing light bulbs, light fixtures with cold blue light in the bedroom, so terrible feeling at night. I also was surprised to see 5 in-line electric outlets on one wall alone, none of them were working. View from the window on another ruined part of the building was horrible. Customer service was cold and not friendly at all except one young guy Mustafa who was shining a light during our stay in the hotel. I wish good luck in his future hospitality career.

It deserves to be 2 stars only although it is located in a very nice spot . It is behind a school in a narrow street so noise starts at 7 am. Most of the staff members need a lot of training.

DO NOT BOOK! I booked weeks in advance and they cancelled the day of my check in when I was within an hour of checking in. To make matters worse, I was left without a hotel for 3 days and had to scramble to find another one. They wouldn't tell me the cause for the cancellation until I pressed further and they blamed it on repairs. Yet the worst part is they told me I should cancel it myself since they won't be able to host me and when I tried to it wouldn't let me. They charged me for ALL the nights, they are very corrupt and money-hungry! A poorly run business with poor customer service.

Me and my friend stayed there for a week a few years ago. The place was clean and well maintained. The rooms were good sized for two people. The bathrooms were big. It was located on island on the Nile River where many embassies are located so walking around at night was safe. The beds were comfortable and the staff friendly. Good value for the money.

Good located 3 stars hotel in Zamalek area, bear by School -noisy early morning- the rooms needs some minor maintenance and you have to check the cleaning level of the beds. the staff is helpful and security available all the day . open befit oriental breakfast is available with the ability to request it to your room with extra fee. minibar at your room full of drinks with extra cost. cleaners visits the room every morning to clean it.

For me, it was ok. I spend the time in sweet room. Clean, quiet, room was big. One day ago, I spend my time in another airbnb apartment in Zamalek but it was bad like ghost apartment and expensive. I think this hotel is 3-stars hotel. Nice. Kind stuffs.

Rabab is the worst manager here and makes everyone feel uncomfortable and makes your stay so bad 👎 she has no manners especially for a manager her nose is up in the sky.

The location was excellent, the room as spacious enough for two people. The breakfast was so limited and not tasty. Noisy during the morning with no soundproof windows.

Terrible neighborhood, terrible breakfast, room service is poor. No facilities, gym, pool, or laundry. Overpriced compared to the service they provide The staff are good people, though and honest.

3 stars if you get a good room - some rooms have an anteroom with a couch. 2 stars for the first room I had at my initial stay on my tour in Egypt, which had a terrible bathroom with paint peeling off the ceiling and a drip causing miscoloured puddles. The man at reception is helpful and friendly. The price for laundry is expensive (20 euro per most items). The porter was rude and demanded a tip immediately after we arrived despite the fact we had no cash yet and so he marched my partner to the ATM and basically forced him to give over 100 Egyptian pounds, a totally exorbitant tip! It made me uncomfortable.

The hotel is very bad, the treatment of the staff is impolite and they try to defraud the customers, there is no place to park the car or garage, and its location is always crowded

A very basic place to stay. Beds are uncomfortable and very noisy in the front rooms. The staff tried hard and were friendly. The location is awesome. I would not normally stay in a three star hotel, but it was part of a tour. It was definitely not a 3-star rated facility.

Clean rooms , friendly staff, accepted facilities, not a luxury hotel. It is suitable for modest accommodation with reasonable prices compared to the service level.

The rooms were not great at all.Extremely disappointing! Just negative vibes all over. The star is for the kind security guy who was the only thing good thing about this place

A very well located hotel that gives you privacy with a nice partial view to the Nile. I had a great stay.

Very good budget accommodation in a great location. We stayed for two weeks. Very reasonable price and within a very safe, nice area of zamalek with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The rooms are spacious and have a seating area, air con works perfectly . The bed is comfy. Only problem is in 2 weeks they did not come to clean our room or give us essentials They only give towels when we ask.. But yes I would return. Thanks :)

I really wanted to like the hotel but they couldn’t take any negative feedback nor did they address the issues with the room when I brought it to their attention.

I booked a room with river view, but the room we were given only had a view of the fire escape. We had to ask for towels, there were none present in our room - forget the pictures on the internet! The shower was luke warm until we complained. No cups were provided with the kettle, when we asked we were given paper cups. None of the staff were particularly friendly or welcoming. The breakfast staff seemed particularly grumpy and resentful they had to serve us.
