DO NOT BOOK BEFORE READING THIS: let me tell you about my experience at Jewel Hotel Zamalek. Which is worse? the problems at the hotel or the fact that they neglect and ignore the problems at the hotel? Free to book a city view room which will give you 24 hours of non-stop traffic that will wake you up at night. Instead of installing heavier windows that block the sound. the hotel solves the problem by blasting music in the hallway 24-hours a day that also contributes to you not sleeping at night. Feel free to complain like I did and get moved to a pool view room. For some reason there is swim training and competitions that start at 4 in the morning and doesn't end until 1 a.m. You might get a little sleep because the swimmers get tired and take breaks for a half hour or so, but the coaches yelling and loud caveman grunts will wake you up as soon as you get comfortable. It's especially wonderful if you arrived to the hotel looking forward to a good night's sleep after 16 hours of travelling like I did. I hope you have a good data plan on your phone as the Wi-Fi does not work, does not connect, and if you complain other repeat guests laugh at you and tell you, "you are wasting your time." I have stayed in over 100 hotels and airbnbs in 2021, this by far has been the worst experience. Breakfast buffet was nice though.

We stayed for our wedding night and the room was so clean and nice, well organized. They gave us a welcome drink when we arrived. They brought us the breakfast into the room which was a very nice 👍 The room service was terrible when we had an issue with the bathroom sink as it was plugged and the were so late to fix it, we had to call them around four times to come and fix it. Also we requested a pool view room but it turned out to be a swimming club pool with lots of trainings the whole day which was very noisy.

The bathroom smelled so bad in our room throughout the entire time we stayed there (3 nights), and we reported this to the receptionist but no one did anything about it. Even though the hotel has an Olympic sized pool, the majority of the time it was occupied by the swimming team from the sports club next door. Because of Ramadan, the swimming classes were held in the evening and the coaches were continuously shouting throughout the night until 1AM. The swimming pool was closed during the day, and so we couldn’t use it at all. We only had breakfast one time during our stay because it was so poor and depressing. There was no menu and the hotel staff member would literally threw the plates of food at our table without any kind of interaction with us. We even had to ask for our drinks. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have known if drinks were served with our breakfast. Overall, it was a bad experience staying at this hotel. The only good things about our stay were the location and the receptionist when we checked in.

Very bad experience, I booked a room through booking and paid in advance to find that my room is not available on check in and waited in the lobby more than 6 hours and they were lying Persistently about the situation and refused to get us a refund and then promised to get us our room next day and we stayed in another room where you sleep literally on the road and even after all of this the next day they kept lying and we waited till 5 pm and nothing changed. On top of all of this they were extremely rude and disrespectful

Great location. Clean and spatious. Helpful staff. I didn't suffer the noise of the city, but, of course, is something that could happen in El Cairo. Totally recommended.

    - staff pretends that doesn’t understand English when it’s convenient to them - I asked for a room with a pool view because it was crazy loud the city view one and they keep postponing change my room and it never happened - DONT STAY JN THE CITY ROOM VIEW. It’s absurdly loud. - shower was a joke. The water flux was 3 drops a minute - they never changed our 2 twin beds even tho we asked many times for a full/Queen one - when I asked for an additional night (flight changed), each person at the reception gave me a different value. Total SCAM.

We spent 2 nights at the hotel. The reception staff , Neda, Faroize and Amira were exceptional and listened to our needs and provided us an excellent service. Including providing us a boxed breakfast to take away as we had a very early morning flight to catch. They organised a taxi service to take us to the airport and Hani the taxi driver was excellent. We would recommend the hotel. The only issue we had was there was no WiFi access in our bedroom. Bravo! Jewel hotel and we hope to see you again soon the next time we visit Cairo . Friendly staff, clean and good for the price. On the down side the pool is almost 100% a public swimming pool that is used for lessons and races from 4:30am to 12pm, so there is shouting, whistles etc from 4:30am. The hotel could keep this and install better windows that offer some sound isolation and start pool use from a sensible time like 7:30am. They could also offer ear plugs with each room. Location is good and in the middle of Zamalek with restaurants and shops all around. The on site massage is excellent.

Great location but breakfast was terrible with no choice provided, staff weren’t helpful, swimming lessons at the pool were conducted till midnight and the WiFi was useless. The room was ok and clean. Bathrooms smelt damp throughout stay but wasn’t such a problem.

I don't recommend at all A/c suddenly rain a flood of water in the room at 2 am when there is no maintenance and it needed a 45 min to shift me to another room where i found a cockroach on the floor Both rooms were noisy (street view) where it's hard to sleep Overpriced & over estimated

room clean, and then it is already: problem with towels, terrible internet can't be asked to repair it / it took 3 days /, night repairs in the corridor do not let us sleep, breakfast very poor and drinks additionally payable, swimming pool is public from 5 am in the morning until 23 p.m., classes of swimming schools, and on the last night we were tried to move to our friends' room under the pretext of boljer failure, I would not fly :(

Good standards ! Our room was clean and spacious with huge terrasse. Air conditioning working well. Beds comfortable. Swimming pool operational. Breakfast ok ( some fruits would be nice ! ). Loads of shops, restaurants, barber shops, liquor stores etc around. I booked 1 hour before arrival . Check in was supposed to be at 2pm and we arrived at 11am. The friendly staff did a good job and the room was ready earlier than expected around 12:30 ! Definitely worth it. Basically Zamalek is a good area to stay at. Be careful with city center hotels near Tahrir or else. Check comments. Thanks Flo

Don't ever take a room on the main road side. I will feel like sleeping literally on the road. There are many people in the staff but you have to remind about your requests at least 3 times to get it done.

awesome hotel , owened and managed by armed forces so quality and safety is a sure thing , very kind crew , my opinion is this is helpful for egyptians if you are stuck in cairo or dont know where to sleep , but if you are a traveler , u have to consult your tour guide cause there aint much to do in the hotel rather than sleeping ♥️
