I am aware that every Egyptian says, Egypt is more than Pyramids. But while I visited the place, I was speechless. It was a magnificent experience to witness thousands years old history. I wish I could stay for a while there.

Its everything we imagined!! Get here early to avoid the crowds and the heat. Go to sphinx last after pyramids and you are right by the exit in to the giza neighborhood and the world famous pizza hut with the view of the sphinx.

One of the more peaceful areas on the pyramid grounds. The temple leads to a nice viewing area for the sphinx. The structure is really cool to look at from the inside with all the columns and beams of stone.

Almost completely covered by the sands of time, the underground temple, located at the foot of the majestic Sphinx, which has been guarding the great pyramids of Giza for thousands of years. Che is reminiscent of a complex and intricate maze of a forgotten computer game shooter of our childhood.

Second trip in 2017. This place is amazing and yet disappointing. As one of the seven wonders of the world it should be preserved to the highest standards. The roads into the area, shops and neighborhoods should be pleasant. The area around is nasty, the area around the pyramids is nasty with thrash. Everyone there is hustling to make a pound.

the place in history gets 5 out of 5 but the way it is kept and surrounding does not meet your expectation. we flew from Sharm El Shakh to see Pyramids. We got there later as our flight was late. the place was closed. our tour guy paid 200 Egyptian Pound and got in. Private tour. can not be better. dont try it as you may get disappointed and not even go in.

Visited on 8 October 2022. Included with the Cairo Pass. Be sure not to miss the Valley Temple. Best visited in the early morning when the Pyramids open to avoid the deluge of bus tour groups. Located to the left of the Sphinx you need to meander through the valley temple in order to view the Sphinx. Pay attention to the massive blocks on the outer wall and inside the complex. The stonework is so fine that one cannot insert a piece of paper between the blocks which use no mortar. Pay attention to the walkway up to the Sphinx where the stone blocks mirror each other on both sides near the doorway. This was allegedly built using copper tools and is probably older than what academia states.

It's an amazing experience standing so close to the Great Sphinx of Giza after reading about Egyptian history in school books. The area for viewing the Pyramids and the Great Sphinx is quite large, so there's no feeling of crowds but still I would suggest visiting early in the morning. There was a lot of people on the site late in the day.

What a brilliant little side addition to visiting the main monuments of this area. The best part is the framing shots you'll get of both the sphinx and pyramids

Who built the Valley Temple of Khafre? Valley Temple of Khafre Giza is attributed to King Khafre, one of the kings of the 4th Dynasty. The purpose of these valley temples has been debated: they could have been used for the mummification process or perhaps for the "opening of the mouth" ceremony, when the "ka" entered the deceased person's body. This temple is an excellent state of preservation, having been buried by desert sand until the 19th century. The purpose of these valley Temples has been the sujject of debate as they could have been used for the mummification process or what was known as the 'opening of the mouth', a ceremony, when the 'ka' entered the deceased person's body. Khafre, of the Old Kingdom's Dynasty IV, is best known for his pyramid (one of the three Great Pyramids of Gizeh) and the Sphinx which bears his likeness. The material of this statue, which is approximately life-size, is diorite, an extremely hard stone and chosen for its sense of permanence—the permanence of kingship.

A temple at the foot of the pyramid of the pharaoh Khafre dedicated to the king himself. Constructed of gigantic blocks of granite set with Inca-like precision, it still retains it's somber grandeur. No extra fee required to go in, just your Giza Plateau ticket. Masks not required, though some people do wear them. You'll go through this temple on your way to see the sphinx. Impressive.

For sure a "must see"! Just some tips before go there: try to go on Friday usually is less crowded, be prepared to avoid scammers and sellers of every kind of things. The trick is to say "no" to every kind of offers and just continue your way, usually you will not be followed.

The Valley Temple of Khafre is an ancient Egyptian temple complex located in the Giza pyramid complex, Egypt. It was built as a mortuary temple for the Fourth Dynasty pharaoh Khafre, and is considered to be one of the finest examples of ancient Egyptian architecture. The temple is located about 500 meters east of the Great Pyramid of Giza. It is built of red granite and limestone, and is decorated with a variety of reliefs and statues. The temple complex consists of a main temple, a smaller temple, and a causeway that connects the two temples. The main temple is a large rectangular building with a colonnaded hall and a sanctuary. The sanctuary contains a statue of Khafre seated on his throne. The smaller temple is located to the south of the main temple and is dedicated to the goddess Hathor. The causeway that connects the two temples is decorated with reliefs of Khafre hunting and defeating his enemies. The Valley Temple of Khafre is an important archaeological site, as it provides insights into the religious beliefs and practices of the ancient Egyptians. It is also a testament to the power and wealth of the Fourth Dynasty pharaohs.

Nothing much to see from this temple as it is just some slabs put next to each other, and leading towards the sphynx.

Perhaps on a trip to Egypt, if you do not visit the pyramids of Giza, it is as if you have not seen Egypt. The tyranny of Pharaoh can be touched, although the ancient art of Egypt is very significant.

It is located next to the statue of the Sphinx and extends towards east-west, and it has two entrances, one on the north side and the other in the south. Within the eastern and western walls there are cavities. It is believed that the cavities of the eastern wall were designated for sunrise rites, while the cavities of the western wall were dedicated to sunset rites, and in the middle This temple is a square courtyard exposed to the sky, and each of its four sides has six pillars, all of which are 24 pillars, and it is believed that they represented the hours of the night and the day.

4th Dynasty Temple next to Great Sphinx and leading up to Khafre's Pyramid via a causeway. The core of the temple is limestone, but the inner and outer blocks are Aswan granite. The hypostyle hall has 16 Collumns. Most of the roof is missing.
