one of the best historical places in Egypt! contains 3 Religions in one area side by side, telling the story of Egypt in different times. it's easy to go there using The Metro (Mar Gerges metro station). don't miss the coptic museum, it's really very well organized & have huge amount of Egyptian heritage shown there, & of cours the first mosque in Egypt "Amr ibn Al'aas" + mussa bin maimon Synagogue .. the architect of the churches there is very beautiful, and many stories to be told .. especially the journey of Holy family ❤️❤️ one thing I don't like there, people who asks for money all the time & those policemen who bothering asking for nationalities while we're watching around.

The place is completely free, there are people of different nationalities and religions, and this is what distinguishes the presence of many people for one purpose, which is to visit this holy place, and it was really a wonderful experience. 🇪🇬

This is a piece of religious history. The compound contains ancient historical churches, mosques, and a synagogue. It includes where it is believed that Jesus and Mary hid there for 3 months. There is fee to enter the compound. We also went to the historical Amr bin Ase. There are also some active churches where people pray. We spent a good day in history. We enjoyed our visit and forgot to take any pictures.

This enchanting place in the heart of Cairo is a treasure trove for architecture and history enthusiasts. Since my student days, I've been captivated by architectural marvels, and this destination offers a profound and unique experience. It transports you through time, evoking the essence of ancient Jerusalem and the spirituality of Egypt's complex of religions. This historical site has witnessed the convergence of three diverse cultures, deeply entwined with three sacred heavenly religions. Its significance resonates not only with Egypt's rich heritage but also with Jerusalem itself, given Egypt's role in the journey of the Holy Family. Accessible via the Mar Gerges metro station, this site boasts remarkable attractions. The Coptic Museum stands out, meticulously organized and showcasing an extensive collection of Egyptian heritage. Nearby, you'll find the Amr ibn Al'aas Mosque, Egypt's first mosque, and the Mussa bin Maimon Synagogue. The architectural beauty of the churches here tells the poignant story of the Holy Family's journey. While some might find the persistent requests for money and occasional police inquiries about nationalities a minor inconvenience, the overall spiritual energy and historical richness more than compensate for these small inconveniences. This sacred haven radiates a palpable spiritual aura, making it a welcoming destination for tourists and history aficionados. Its well-organized layout, accompanied by aromatic scents, creates an inviting ambiance that is perfect for history lovers. What sets this place apart is that it is accessible to all, free of any entrance fees, extending a warm welcome to both Egyptians and tourists. This inclusivity is a testament to the unity of purpose, where individuals of different nationalities and faiths gather to partake in the magic of this sacred place. This location isn't just one of Egypt's finest historical gems; it embodies unity among the three major religions - Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. Souvenir shops dot the area, a testament to the countless visitors who have walked these hallowed grounds. When in Cairo, prioritize a visit here. It's a place where history seamlessly melds with the present, where stories come to life, and where positive energy is abundant. Numerous photo opportunities await, ensuring lasting memories. Exploring this site is made even more enriching with a knowledgeable tour guide who can unveil the intricate history with added insight. Keep in mind that while the majority of the site is free to enter, the museum does require a separate entrance fee. In the heart of Cairo, this sacred intersection of history, spirituality, and architecture beckons. Churches, monasteries, museums, and an ancient cemetery all bear witness to the Holy Family's journey. A well-preserved synagogue stands proudly, maintaining its original architectural grandeur. As you wander through the enchanting labyrinth of old alleys, you'll stumble upon charming souvenir shops and quaint bookstores. Just a few steps away lies the magnificent Amr ibn El'Aas Mosque, a testament to Egypt's enduring religious heritage. Nearby, the Fostat Bazaar beckons with its traditional, handcrafted treasures, from clothing to glassware, copperware to woodwork, and more. In essence, this place is nothing short of magical.

One of the best and oldest places in whole Egypt to visit. Once you go there you won't leave. There's some positive energy in this place and the stories of the place makes you more interesting to listen and learn about the history of this place. You should visit if you're in Cairo and there's some places to take some good pictures as well 🙂🙂

I visited this place with an egyptian friend. Police harassed and threatened her for no reason, they almost detained her. We had to leave very scared. Policemen here are bullies. Never visit this place with local people, because they can get arrested for no reason.

Beautiful place to visit to witness a lot of historical and religious landmarks. I would always advice to have a knowledgeable tour guide with you ( you will find plenty there) that will show you around with an extra cost of course. The place is free to enter, even for tourists. The only area that you have to pay is if you want to enter the museum.

A journey through time that takes your souls to the alleys and streets resembling ancient Jerusalem, to seep into you a unique spiritual state that you can only feel in the alleys and streets of the complex of religions in ancient Egypt. During its history, it embraced three diverse cultures dating back to 3 sacred heavenly religions, and played an important role in history, due to its spiritual status, which brings it together with Egypt, in which the owners of the three religions lived, which was the cause of the similarity between the area of the complex of religions and the city of Jerusalem, especially since Egypt embraced the journey of the Holy Family.
