Fantastic Darius Brubeck concert. Recreated the Time Out album of his father, Dave Brubeck's, quartet. It was based on unusual time signatures (not something that I fully understand). Famous tracks included Take Five and Blue Rondo a la Turk, plus some newer numbers from Darius' own quartet. Good choice of bar drinks. Helpful staff. Very little queueing. Difficult to social distance in the standing only area. Book early to get restaurant tables upstairs.

What a superb night. Security on the door was good, polite welcoming and did their job, the evening was really good, the band was good, access to the bar was good. A great night would recommend

I was really looking forward to this night but sadly the poor service ruined it all! We booked a table for 4 / tickets ( £220 )for Josh Milan. We arrived around 7pm when only less than handful of customers were there. The waiter messed up our orders few times and served the cocktail that we ordered at 7:30 around 9pm , after I reminded them twice. Every time he made a mistake about our orders, he kept saying they had new trainees who work behind the scenes and mess up the orders!!! Worst than that , they added 12.5% service charge to this stressful and poor service! instead of apologising !Booking a table for any show is really waist of money if that’s the level of service they offer !!

My first time in attendance. Intimate and warm venue. Was able to grab a no-show table. So glad, the meal was fantastic! Good quality tasty food. The staff were attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

A small queue to get in, but opened on time and we went straight to our table (in the restaurant). Service was mega friendly and helpful. Food was good, if not a little over priced and drinks were well made. View of the stage (table 6) and value for money is excellent. The sound quality was great, not too loud.

Booked the table upstairs for the 2024 NYE (£100 incl. food deposit) but actually, we had zero live jazz. Zero 👍 The first act was a young brazilian-themed group of singers that were okay, and the second act was an up and coming alternative r&b singer who nearly missed the countdown because he was so absorbed into his songs. The choice of songs were also quite moody. Don't get me wrong; the music would make me feel real hipster in my headphones but it was not at all fitting for a public NYE event, especially at a venue supposedly renowned for jazz. Maybe they had better artists that cancelled last minute and needed a replacement but damn I really expected better. What is the purpose of the performance if you don't know your crowd and the purpose of the gathering? We got champagne flutes to cheers but didn't even finish and left quarter past midnight (I usually overindulge in drinking and partying in any setting so this is rare). The other groups sitting near us actually left immediately after the countdown. They all looked hilariously bored—the only entertainment of the night. Not surprisingly, the crowd downstairs was also pretty dead. Safe to say that it was the most underwhelming new years experience I've ever had in London, and I highly recommend anyone coming to celebrate their big day to look elsewhere. Would have given one star but the staffs serving the food/drinks were kind and attentive including those behind the bar.

Great music venue, we have been for 3 shows and always enjoyed it. You can always get close to the artist as the venue is very intimate. Never tried the tables area upstairs as they are always sold out by the time we get our tickets. Cocktails like Gin and Tonic are pretty awful, they cheapen out without buying proper tonic and don’t have any sugar free versions. Stick with beer and wine.

The door staff, cloakroom attendants and the individuals that tidy the venue, are fantastic. Friendly, professional and helpful. A good vibe in the venue and very spacious. Covid requirement checks, are proficient and generally the crowd that attends are chilled and good natured. I would recommend this iconic venue. Two minute walk from Camden Town station.

Excellent place to watch a live performance - intimate, cosy, with good views of the stage literally everywhere across the venue. Building is gorgeous inside and outside. The door policy is a bit too strict though - had to leave my grocery shopping at the entrance which felt a bit ridiculous as I'd put my backpack in the cloakroom anyway. Also they don't accept American Express which caused me problems.

The one and only legendary London music venue. A great location in the heart of Camden, with lots of transport options. The variety of acts and the wonderful bar, food, and friendly staff make this a great spot to have night out. Pricing is ok and in line with a good venue. During our visit we had starters (which were a little on the small side), as well as mains. The cheese burger was rated highly, but there were questions about the Jerk chicken and rice as the rice seemed under seasoned.

I had shown up for the New Years Eve Party and was quite excited for the evening. Upon entering the club and dancing for a while, I was disappointed about the selection of music. It was primarily house and modern, but was expecting other music. Also, it seemed like the DJ didn't properly mix his music as there were gaps between the songs. Despite the overall bad experience, the staff were kind and there was interesting interior decorations.

They used to be a good venue. But after the pandemic they all are about making money. They sell ticket for 7PM. Performance, and they start letting people in at 7:30 , the program doesn’t start until 8:30. Then what was promised as a flamenco dance program only contains 2 minutes of dance , which due to the lack of space starts as sitting and continues as tap dance! Like Irish dance, ridiculous. They have also turned the upstairs into all restaurant. So the viewing balcony upstairs doesn’t exit anymore. So the whole venue looks like the downstairs of titanic no view with the smell of the stinkiest fish cooking for the restaurant with rude waiters who insult you if you ask them when the balcony upstairs became a restaurant. My last time here. Jazz cafe is no longer a jazz cafe , it’s a restaurant with mediocre performances.

I had restaurant tickets for a concert. It was my first time visiting. The venue opens at 7pm, they didn't let us in untill 7 so had to queue in the rain but the lady at the door offered us an umbrella. Very kind. The restaurant is upstairs, great view of the stage. I had aubergine starter which was tasty but tiny, fried chicken was delicious, vegan burger did not taste vegan, the sauce was like big Mac sauce and the cheese tasted like real cheese!!! It was amazing!! I had a pear tea mocktail which was so good I would get it again!! The staff are amazing and friendly. Service was quick. The upstairs toilet for the restaurant was never busy and quiet clean. After eating went downstairs to get a closer view of the stage, got to the front easily, amazing atmosphere but enjoyed sitting watch from the restaurant more. Great venue I would love to visit again. Parking on street free after 6.30!

A stone's through from Camden Town tube this venue is very easy to get to. Entry was easy with polite and efficient door staff. Inside the venue is on two levels with an upper mezzanine having seating where you can both eat and drink though booking these in advance is recommended. Downstairs in the main area there are two bars with plenty of staff so getting served is not a problem and prices are similar to other places in the area I went for some live music and both the sound and lighting was excellent with the stage running along the long side of the room so getting a good view is guaranteed wherever you are. Toilets were downstairs and they were clean and everything worked. Not sure about disabled facilities but when I was there a wheelchair user was present which suggests there may be a loo and the ground floor but it is probably best to check. Overall a lovely venue

Iconic venue and such great live music you are guaranteed to see some of the great artists drop by. The capacity is small so you are no more than 5m from the stage which means the shows feel intimate. The restaurant upstairs is amazing, styled in an art deco style, great food (small menu but vegan and vegetarian friendly), cocktails, service and overlooks the stage. Perfect when you want a night out but not necessarily in the dance floor.

Iconic venue to visit at least once! The line ups, very varied, can be enjoyed even if you're not a jazz connoisseur, despite the name of the place. Conveniently located less than 1 minute from Camden Town Station. The venue is divided in 2 spaces: downstairs is more like a bar/concert venue where you stand around the scene, while upstairs is more a quaint Jazz club experience with art deco decor and dining service. It's definitely 2 different ways to enjoy the experience/connect with the act. Saw Joyce (jazz, bossa nova) recently, and it was amazing. She entered the stage around 9.00pm. It allowed plenty of time to enjoy the venue and diner, which was nice, especially since the food is really tasty! You want to take your time. The selection is limited but original and very well thought. They have an extensive drink menu and the non-alcooholic cocktails are very nice. The staff is absolutely lovely, kudos to all of them 😊

Great evening yet again. Jazz cafe is one off the best venues to see concerts. The sound, atmosphere and choice of artist always works. Table experience is second to none and the food on point. 9/10 would recommend.

Bang Average food. The staff especially Flora are outstanding and welcoming. The venue is class oozing character. The sound is great throughout venue, although appreciate depends on the artist and set up. Drinks are London priced and not typically overwhelming. Will be back quickly.... no food... more stars

What a fabulous evening in such a beautiful venue, overflowing with vibes. Really enjoyed myself thoroughly and cannot wait to return for more events at The Jazz Cafe! Staff were welcoming and helpful, toilets were immaculate and you don’t miss anything with the live music being played on speakers in the toilet too! Cloakroom - £2.50 an item! Drinks are not too extortionate, considering location! Divine, all performers and team members take a gold star 🌟

It's such a fabulous place! So near Camden Station. The food was fabulous, good portions, and decent price for up town. To top it off, it was Halal, so 10/10! Watched Loose Ends and thoroughly enjoyed the evening! 🙃

We had such a wonderful time at ESG on Friday! It was great to see these legends live, and it filled me with nostalgia and bliss. Jazz cafe accommodated them perfectly, and even screened their home made documentary prior to the performance. We had a table, with great view and we really enjoyed the food. Also were able to have a little dance when we wanted. All in all a great night, so grateful to have been there!

Great place..! Great doorway staff..! Great restaurant food..! Never been to a bad gig here. Always a good night. Side note: I think they should get those that can't handle their drinks to leave the event instead of them ruining the experience for others.

Jazz Cafe always a good night. The sound is good. The bar is well staffed and efficiently run, so you don't miss too much of the gig getting a drink. Located right in the heart of Camden so plenty going on roundabouts. Recommended

Great live venue, good vibes and nice bar staff. One of the speakers was clearly blown during the performance but not much they could do in the middle of an act. Would like to return here for a meal. Would suggest they add solo dining tables though as it seems restaurant table tickets are only sold as 2 or more.

Amazing gig, really nice venue but really bad security staff. Had some food items I'd bought in London that day and had told him I was taking it straight down to the cloakroom but he took it out anyway and I never got it back. Drink prices are reasonable.

  • 5/5 Abbie P. 2 years ago on Google
I had such a great evening out the other night at the jazz cafe. Straight away we were welcomed by very accommodating and friendly security, who helpfully directed us into the venue and showed us where to leave our belongings. The bar staff were also very welcoming and showed interest in what I fancied to drink for the evening, carrying the same service through the whole night. The atmosphere of the night overall was really special to me. The venue itself lived up to expectation and all the staff were so lovely and professional. I will definitely be back soon!

I am an avid concert goer and always have been. I love a very wide variety of musical styles and artists but I must say that this is the worst venue for gigs. I have now been here four times. Always overcrowded, the view of the stage from downstairs is always awful unless you are in the front row, which would require you to arrive hours before the gig (or book a table upstairs, which is a pricey option that many gig-goers cannot or don’t want to pay for - also, eating at gigs is not for everyone but this place seems to favour that over the traditional gig experience). Picture shows what I mean about the view downstairs. Toilets and cloakroom are downstairs and difficult to access due to overcrowding - the stairs leading to them are very narrow and there are always long queues. They put up excellent and varied artists but I don’t remember ever having a great time here. It’s just been frustrating. Fantastic if you want to look at the back of people’s heads instead of the show though!

The Iconic Jazz Cafe is a wonderful venue to enjoy musical performances. The sound acoustics is of high quality 👌 making the live performance sound just like listening to the actual recording. They provide a very safe environment whether you are attending solo or with a group. The artist in my picture is recording artist, Howard Hewett, stellar performance 👏.

  • 4/5 Rpi R. 8 months ago on Google
A lot of great music gets played here. It is however a strange layout. The dining upstairs can be distracting during a gig and it can be challenging for many of us to stand up on the main floor for extended periods of time. It would be great to have simple food available on the main floor, but I can see the challenges involved. On the plus side, the staff are great, they have decent drinks, and there is a coat check available.

I went to the Jazz Cafe on the 4th of December to see Red Snapper and I would like thank the two gentlemen on the door for being so helpful and very professional, they really made my visit to this amazing venue even more memorable. This was only my second visit to this great venue but really looking forward to the next time. The concert was also fantastic, great band, wanted to see them again for a long time, the sound was also amazing, very happy with the whole experience :) thanks again

What a venue! Lovely knowledgeable staff, interesting layout and cool decor. Amazing food menu and cocktails. Super large back bar especially the bourbons, great selection, try something new! They always get the best acts in, top notch musicians and the sound engineers knows exact what they're doing. Couldn't recommend the Jazz cafe highly enough.

A friend and I came here for a Brazilian Music night (featuring Ayom, who were fantastic). We had a restaurant table (with very high tables)... the service here was great from start to finish - our waitress was very smiley, very warm and always checked in so we were never waiting too long, she made us feel very special (not sure what her name is, but we were on Table 21 on July 5!). The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. We could hear and see the bands without issue also.

Great little venue. really nice feeling, friendly staff, great view of the stage. Saw Kristin Hersh and Fred Abong there who were amazing. My big complaint and the reason for 3 starts is I really wish you didn't serve food while the events are running. The clinking of cutlery and smell of food is extremely distracting. I don't understand why you do this... Or why people want to come to a musical event and eat. It would be 5 stars hands down without this.
