Something to look forward to in the life around the bustling beach. Not as famous as Puerto Galera but still amazing seeing all walks of life. The fisher men , boating tours and daily life of people around it. Some also offer bikes or banana boat to jet sky and not to mention snorkeling with feeding the fishes for the young and old alike. Try the island hopping , boat riding along the waves or just enjoy the magnificent view of the west side of the Philippines not to mention that golden sunset when you find the right timing. From local guest house with very hospitable accomodations, budget friendly resorts for you to enjoy and some high end hotels to celebrate those special occasions. Most of all what it offers over other beaches is the relaxing quiet atmosphere. Feel free to explore more hidden beach spots or new guest house or resorts around also there are local shops around the streets for the foodie in you.

This place is budget friendly and you can even bring your own food and drinks without paying for corkage fee. However, don't expect too much since the ocean are crowded with other rafts, most likely your raft will meet the other raft (siksikan). Avoid negotiating with headhunters nearby highways, offering and promising something they can't control or own. Go straight ahead to the beach and talk to the balsa owners it is cheaper anyway. Water is clear and not that shallow...

Water activities here are cheaper compare to Other beaches in batangas, the sea is clean, though there are some plastic waste, be careful on floating cottages they are slippery. Wonderful place and experience

Great experience! Enjoyed the clear water, the floating cottage, sunset, banana boat and volleyball. I suggest to rent a beachfront accommodation to really enjoy the scenery!

It could be a beautiful beach, but in its sorry state, as August 2023, it's not. It's full of trash, packs of stray dogs and nobody cares. There are also countless floating cottages for rent. One can only imagine, what happens with the trash from this floating cottages... It's a shame, overall...

So so! Good view but the beach itself was covered with floating cottages and somehow the water is not that clear. U will not enjoy the seashore anymore. Kinda beats the seashore view because of those floating cottages.

I'm surprised at the high reviews. They are probably talking about the private resorts. The public ones we went to are not good because of the very low sea level and crowded parking spaces. This was many years ago, so I hope the situation changed. But I wouldn't recommend it for now. I hope the government takes care of our natural resources and be careful about developing only for the rich. God gave us all nature to enjoy, not just a few privileged people.

I suggest to check the tide forecast. In low tides the water near the shore is rocky and full of corals it recedes to it's furthest extent swimming is unenjoyable and tedious especially in northern part of matabungkay

The beach is not very clean but nice to relax. I did snorkeling during 2 hours. The local guide rode me on the boat to the sea. I love my trip

I love Matabungkay. It is one of my go-to places when I want a break from Manila. The water is clear, however, not as good as before. People throw trash around. I hope the beachfront can be widened a bit as some structures are even reached by waves. I wish to see more of the sand and not clumped buildings.

Nice food and staff. The room is clean though there was a little dust in the windows. Ideal for staycation.

Had a great day hanging out. Would not recommend the snorkelling as the water is not great, coral looks dead and limited number of fish

Very crowded. Too much floating raft (balsa) that it's very difficult to swim. Matabungkay beach needs to be rehabilitated. Looks dirty. A lot of people just throw whatever on the beach. It's ridiculous that they are charging ENVIRONMENTAL FEE of Php25 per head. For what? They don't seem to care about the cleanliness and sustainability of Matabungkay Beach.

Nice to be with friends and loved ones. Just hanging out and drinking plus bbq floating a little feet from the shore. Be aware of the boat men. Make sure you have the best deal for renting the raft.

β€’ Beach full of trash, napkins, diapers, empty bottles and plastic cups. Excetp for some resorts that clean their beachfront, the wholr stretch is full of litter. β€’ full of vendors and island hopping/snorkeling marketers that are borderline annoying that spans a whole day of interrupting your pictures and quiet times πŸ˜…. β€’ rocky when lowtide β€’ has some nice beach resorts that are worth visiting, but mostly are mediocre on accomodation.
