We
came
to
Bologna
for
the
food
and
we
"came".....
All
jokes
aside,
our
visit
at
La
Prosciutteria
Bologna
was
a
once
in
a
lifetime
experience.
Walking
past
this
establishment
during
the
day,
we
already
were
intrigued
by
the
vast
display
of
meats,
cheeses
and
wines
havinhey
had
on
every
wall
and
in
all
the
displays.
If
you
want
to
experience
this
food
and
drink
place
properly,
you
will
need
probably
at
least
2
hours
to
spare
though.
We
tried
several
times
to
get
a
table,
but
the
line
was
too
long
and
after
a
few
drinks
in
the
sorounding
bars
we
finally
found
a
spot
for
the
3
of
us
to
get
some
supper
into
our
system.
The
ordering
process
ist
quite
simple,
stand
in
line,
contemplate
on
what
food
platter
or
assortment
will
satisfy
your
table
and
what
drinks
will
fit
the
mood
of
this
specific
night.
The
line
moves
slowly,
but
steady
now
is
the
time
to
look
exactly
at
every
single
pice
of
meat
and
cheese
that
is
cut
up
continously
by
the
staff
and
formed
into
ready
to
eat
snack
and
dinner
plates
and
sandwiches.
I
had
about
15
minutes
of
waiting
time
to
rethink
all
my
options
and
ordered
the
deluxe
platter,
2
different
porchetta
sandwiches
and
the
hous
wine,
51€
split
among
3
people,
fair
and
more
than
enough.
A
wait
time
of
30
minutes
might
sound
harsh,
but
in
fact,
time
flies
sitting
on
the
warm,
breezy
backstreets
of
bologna
and
mingling
with
your
travel
companions
and
passers
by.
The
housewine
is
nothing
special,
I
am
myself
more
of
a
bear
guy,
but
I
did
not
feel
like
choosing
from
the
20
different
bottled
beers,
so
we
got
ourself
3
glasses
and
we
truly
enjoyed
the
cheaper,
but
in
my
opinion
perfekt
wine
for
the
occasion.
The
arrival
of
our
supper
was
highly
anticipated
by
us
hungry
trailers
and
without
a
big
show,
the
2
sandwiches,
2
wooden
bords
with
cheese,
sossage
and
bacon
from
the
region
were
set
on
the
table
in
combination
with
a
paper
bag
full
of
bread.
It
might
have
been
a
mistake,
but
the
first
taste
was
the
5,50€
porchetta
and
truffle
sando.......
I
was
instantly
catapulted
into
another
stratosphere
of
being.
I
am
not
exaggerating
by
tell
you,
that
I
have
never
experienced
a
flavour
combination
that
made
so
much
sense
and
at
the
same
time
overloaded
my
synapses
to
a
point
of
utter
paralysis,
both
in
mind
and
body.
It
sounds
like
I
am
not
being
honest
and
extremely
overreacting,
but
it
took
me
2
days
to
finally
be
ready
to
write
about
what
happened
in
the
historic
Jewish
ghetto
in
bologna
during
my
Italy
trip
2021.
The
feast
continued
with
so
many
different
cold
cuts
and
fatty
meat
tastes,
it
took
the
3
of
us
almost
1
hour
to
finish
our
order.
All
of
us
were
grasping
for
words
to
explain
what
had
just
robbed
us
of
our
understanding,
what
was
even
possible
by
eating
what
essentially
is
just
a
snack
food.
I
truly
belive,
money
can't
make
a
person
happy,
but
this
night
has
shown
me,
good
company,
affordable
wine
and
pork
fat
can.
Whoever
plans
to
visit
bologna,
even
just
for
a
day
trip,
take
some
time
out
of
your
day
and
get
a
taste
of
haven.
If
nectar
and
ambrosia
was
the
only
things
the
gods
ate,
I
can
only
imagen
they
envy
us
mortals
for
exactly
this
prochetta
sandwich.
