We came to Bologna for the food and we "came"..... All jokes aside, our visit at La Prosciutteria Bologna was a once in a lifetime experience. Walking past this establishment during the day, we already were intrigued by the vast display of meats, cheeses and wines havinhey had on every wall and in all the displays. If you want to experience this food and drink place properly, you will need probably at least 2 hours to spare though. We tried several times to get a table, but the line was too long and after a few drinks in the sorounding bars we finally found a spot for the 3 of us to get some supper into our system. The ordering process ist quite simple, stand in line, contemplate on what food platter or assortment will satisfy your table and what drinks will fit the mood of this specific night. The line moves slowly, but steady now is the time to look exactly at every single pice of meat and cheese that is cut up continously by the staff and formed into ready to eat snack and dinner plates and sandwiches. I had about 15 minutes of waiting time to rethink all my options and ordered the deluxe platter, 2 different porchetta sandwiches and the hous wine, 51€ split among 3 people, fair and more than enough. A wait time of 30 minutes might sound harsh, but in fact, time flies sitting on the warm, breezy backstreets of bologna and mingling with your travel companions and passers by. The housewine is nothing special, I am myself more of a bear guy, but I did not feel like choosing from the 20 different bottled beers, so we got ourself 3 glasses and we truly enjoyed the cheaper, but in my opinion perfekt wine for the occasion. The arrival of our supper was highly anticipated by us hungry trailers and without a big show, the 2 sandwiches, 2 wooden bords with cheese, sossage and bacon from the region were set on the table in combination with a paper bag full of bread. It might have been a mistake, but the first taste was the 5,50€ porchetta and truffle sando....... I was instantly catapulted into another stratosphere of being. I am not exaggerating by tell you, that I have never experienced a flavour combination that made so much sense and at the same time overloaded my synapses to a point of utter paralysis, both in mind and body. It sounds like I am not being honest and extremely overreacting, but it took me 2 days to finally be ready to write about what happened in the historic Jewish ghetto in bologna during my Italy trip 2021. The feast continued with so many different cold cuts and fatty meat tastes, it took the 3 of us almost 1 hour to finish our order. All of us were grasping for words to explain what had just robbed us of our understanding, what was even possible by eating what essentially is just a snack food. I truly belive, money can't make a person happy, but this night has shown me, good company, affordable wine and pork fat can. Whoever plans to visit bologna, even just for a day trip, take some time out of your day and get a taste of haven. If nectar and ambrosia was the only things the gods ate, I can only imagen they envy us mortals for exactly this prochetta sandwich.

We came across this place on our way to another restaurant. But we are so happy we stopped here to have dinner. It was so delicious and fresh. The staff was very helpful and gave good recommendations. The atmosphere here is amazing, both inside and outside. We had the big plateau of cold cuts of cheese, meat and veggie’s which where delicious. Also the dessert was good. Warm dishes are sold out quickly.

We went for an early dinner, and probably a better places for lunch or small stomachs. We shared a sandwich and lasagna, the lasagna pretty small for dinner. I think its a better place to try their plates for 2 people. However the food was good. Dogs welcome inside. Menu in English.

Everything was delicious, the atmosphere is great with lots of happy energy. The service is friendly and they help you with your wine or menu selection if you have doubts. They speak English in case your Italian is not good.

We had two delicious sandwiches with cinghiale (wild boar) for take-away. The "classic" number 7 is with meat only and absolutely fabulous. My hubby had a number 2 and was also super happy. Some tables outside as well and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We have been there in the Summer on a weekday at around 4pm and there was no waiting Time at all.

The essence of Italy. Kingdom of prosciutto. Best place to sit and enjoy all those flavours and tastes. Paper plates and cups, wooden cutlery-a big plus. Very good house wine, free water and good music.

If you are a charcuterie board lover... you have to try this place. I thought the prices where very reasonable! Ambiance and decor will keep you gazing the whole time you are eating. I loved this place so much, I search to see if there are other locations in other cities I'm traveling to. buon appetito!!!!

A delicious meal in a self-serve establishment in Bologna (one of two locations). The staff was very friendly and allowed us to ask questions and were patient with us. The food was AMAZING! We ordered the lasagna bolognese and the vegetarian sandwich (the bread was incredibly soft, the BEST bread we had in 7 days in 6 cities in Italy). Also, the greatest value (best bang for buck based on taste, wait, quality and atmosphere) meal we’ve had on our trip this far. Cute setting and great atmosphere - would definitely revisit!

If you are looking for a cutting board with the best hams, mortadella and cheese, look no further! A busy corner proscutteria, find a place to sit and order a gourmet plank with the house red wine. Pure heaven! Staff are helpful, everything is a little chaotic and remember to listen for your name over the speakers, your food is ready on the counter. A must visit in Bologna!

This place is unbelievable. We had the Tuscan tasting board along with truffle burata and the black angus fume, along with the house red wine. The highlights for me were the mortadella and the fume. For the price, we got a very solid amount of food and it was a very enjoyable experience. In total we paid 47 euros for everything, which was very good value.

Very great place to take a break, especially if you are a tourist. The products are fresh, qualitative and very tasty. The charcuterie boards are always a great idea! They do not have table service, so you will have to go inside and order.

This is a great place for small and large groups to order a bottle of wine, a nice charcuterie board...among other things. It's mostly self-service - order at the front. They did forget the fromage on our board. It can be a bit loud, so don't expect a quiet evening. The beer was also really good - a nice Belgian style. I'd come back with a group on a non-work night to let the wine and conversation flow. I'd also bring a date to share a board and a bottle of wine. The food was good, but I'm not sure I'd give 5-stars after one visit - closer to a 4.5 at this time. I would definitely return again.

One of the best board what I ever had! Great service, I like how you just came to the bar, order what you want, and when your food is ready they will just scream your name and that's it! Simply the best. Great selection of the board and good quality. You can also take it to go in nice style. Been there three times on three days ha ha. Nice wine and good beers.

100% would go again. Very good food, the place is awesome - has a very local vibe rather than a touristy one. Desserts and house wine were really amazing and comparing the quality prices were pretty reasonable.

Great place to eat and drink, It's usually quite busy but also worth the try. They don't charge for service. The photo is for the 20 euros mix table for 2, we could kind of eat decently and we were 3.

We chose this place for our first meal in Bologna and ended up being our best experience food-wise in town! The sandwiches were very fresh and prepared on the spot. The little extra waiting time was totally worth it. I particularly enjoyed the ‘Cured Ham La Prosciutteria’. The ‘Prochetta from Chianti’ was also great.

Busy/Chaotic atmosphere at peak hour… but in a good way. The staff work like a well oiled machine and the charcuterie boards paired with a bottle of wine 👌🏼 chefs kiss.

It is perfect place if you want to try some aperetivos or good italian wine with accompanying plates of local meats and cheeses. There are plenty of plates so you will be able to find one according to your taste. Price is very good even though it seems to be quite touristic place. It is not easy to take a seat there.

Came around 12pm and was able to get in with no queue (family of 4). Very friendly and fast service, and exceptional food! Ordered the board for 1 person (but we can enjoy sharing it among the 4 of us), the fondue, and the mortadella sandwich. But the star of the show definitely was the cutting board and definitely would come back to order that again!

Stopped for some take away while walking around Bologna. They were very busy with sit down so the take away took around a half hour for one sandwich, but overall it was very good! Just be aware of the time it could take once you order.

What a place! Great selection, tasty dishes, staff is very accommodating, prices are great! I could have spent an entire day there, but didn’t have room in my stomach!

We ordered the tagliere gourmet. Feeds 3 easily but it's so good that we (2 people on empty stomachs) were able to eat it all. The gourmet is worth the extra price. The sandwiches, pasta and other dishes we saw while eating looked so good as well. People working there are nice and efficient and love their jobs. It shows in everything they do. We're definitely coming back!

Super disappointing - ordered a takeaway platter for what was supposed to be our last nice picnic in Bologna and the restaurant clearly forgot the cheeses (except for the burrata we paid 5€ extra for). Would recommend everyone to check what they give you! We feel cheated.

Really nice charcuterie place in Bologna to have exceptional food and excellent drinks. Everyday they change the cutting board combination and the quality of the products are excellent. We ordered some wine and again, it was a very simply-ish flavoured wine that perfectly paired with the charcuterie. You MUST pay a visit 😉

Very good food, super quick service and wonderful atmosphere! The place was a bit crowded, so we waited a bit for seats (about 5-10 min.) - enough time to browse the menu and decide on the cold cut platter (20€ and enough food for 2 people). The platter contained 4 types of meat, some veggies (eggplant, potato & tomato slices), 3 types of cheeses, a delightful jam and some tartines. Overall, very filling and delicious! Bonus! If you come the next day with the receipt from the previous day, you get a free glass of vine!

This place was popping off as soon as it opened. We ordered 3 separate time at the counter because we thought we weren’t that hungry but couldn’t stop ourselves from getting more. The food was incredible with meat cut right before your eyes. The chianti classico was great as well. Be prepared to mosey in and find a seat wherever possible because this place is rightfully busy.

Here we had the best experience of our Italy trip in terms of both food and service. We had sandwiches here, walked around, missed the same place just in an hour. Turned back again to drink something and just to have a few slices of cheese. I asked the guy if they have a plate of just 3-4 slices of cheese. He said they don’t have it in the menu, but gave it as a treat. Great hospitality.

We enjoyed a great Thursday night here!! We had an amazing Tagliere with a great selection of cheeses and coold cuts, bruschettas and a plate of burrata carpaccio!! Everything was really tasty!! Don't forget to make a reservation, they use whats app for that!!

An interesting self-service style restaurant with very generous tagliere on wood with a wide variety of cold cuts and cheeses that can also be put together for a small group. They also have sandwich options and a few hot dishes and salads.

Punching its way comfortably into my to 5 favourite European cheese, ham and wine shops this place was buzzing with a queue when we pressed at around 2pm. Came back at 3:30 and got a small corner table. Superb 70s sound track, great service, (place order at the till, sit down wait till your name gets hollered by the lovely serving people. ) Great choice of wine by the glass including dessert wines. MASSIVE deli boards. Pic was by no means the biggest we saw go out. Also, the Barrata. Woh. The Barrata.

Very pleasant place to spend time with friends and eat something good. The snack board very well composed. A few kind of cheese and ham like prosciutto and local mortadella.

We fell in love with this place and were there already 4-times. The plates are a treat , wine is good and the price is fair. Only one time we where a little disappointed was in the sandwich option. The bread was really dry.

Visited the place twice during our visit in Bologna, the cutting board for two people was more than enough and very tasty. The wine was also great!

Was on the market for a cheese and meat board and heard about this place. Great atmosphere. It can get a little crowded so give yourself some extra time. Get the gourmet bored it’s worth it.
