After suffering with hip pain for years I finally decided to go ahead with the complete hip replacement that I had been told I needed, and due to Covid restrictions and long waiting times on the NHS I decided to take the plunge and get it over with while life was less than normal as I am a very active person and live life to the full so wanted as little disruption as possible. Luckily I was recommended to the Beaumont by a good friend and it was the best decision I could have made. From the very first consultant I was confident that I was in safe hands and just a few weeks later I had my long anticipated operation. If I had known how smoothly it would go I would have had it done sooner. The staff were absolutely fantastic. Always smiling and confident in their work. My surgeon Alun Wall was amazing and I will be forever grateful that he has given me my life back. Also Leanne my Physio who helped enormously with my speedy recovery. Thanks to them, after six weeks I was feeling better than I had for years and living life normally. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Beaumont.

Not sure why this has a 3.8* average… feel like it may not get the reviews it deserves if it has an older clientele (usual with private medical care I would assume). Anyhow, an absolute definite 5/5* from me, well worth it on my insurance, as all the staff are super nice and friendly while also being helpful. The whole process is efficient and well laid out, the inside of the hospital is immaculate, the car park had loads of spaces and was a good use of the space I thought, despite having seen negative opinions about it in previous reviews. Would recommend!

Fantastic service from the reception staff when I first arrived to dealing with my consultants secretary when I needed some advice. My surgery went ahead without any problems. Will definitely recommend Beaumont to my friends and family, keep up the fantastic work.

I recently attended here as a nhs patient for day case treatment. All staff were absolutely amazing and very helpful from reception all through to the theatre staff at all levels. The service could be improved by advising patients that when you come to the hospital for the day case treatment you are attending a clinic and the time stated on the letter is NOT your appointment time. This happened to me and another lady and we both thought that the time we were given on the letter was an appointment time to be seen in clinic and not an appointment time for when the clinic starts. This for me was not an issue but if you have child care or other committees then advising someone their appointment was 08.45 you would think that your appointment would be around 08.45. I left at around 14.20. I am not complaining about waiting but think the letter sent could be worded in a way that you are informed it’s a clinic that you are attending and not that it’s your appointment time to be seen in clinic and just to be informed about the delays in the clinic.

After having a miscommunication with my first operation date they more than outdid themselves with their care and attention to detail. They apologised and i received compensation for my troubles and my operation was booked for a week later. The staff at this hospital are so lovely and caring. The ward nurses and outpatient nurses are all amazing. They helped me with a lot of things after my surgery and i am very grateful. I 100% recommend this hospital to anyone wanting to go private. I will definitely be back for my next operation in a few years.

I recently attended The Beaumont for a consultation regarding my trigger finger. All the staff were very efficient and welcoming as I arrived; there was no waiting and I saw my consultant straight away. At the consultation, I was offered a variety of treatments and I opted for an injection which was performed there and then. The safety process with the consultant and nurse to ensure it was performed correctly was reassuring and made me feel calm. A thoroughly professional experience; thank you. Special mention and thanks to Mr Wykes for removing the pain in my finger and to Stacey who was kind when I was having the injection. Thanks all.

Just had my second knee replacement. Excellent treatment throughout both surgeries. The hospital provides a nice relaxed environment. Every member of staff I came into contact with, all over the hospital, for both surgeries, including pre op assessment, during my admission and post op were professional, efficient and friendly. The consultant (Mr Shepard) was very good. He is very approachable and efficient. I felt involved with every aspect and decision. I would like to mention 2 people in particular. Mishika (I hope I’ve got this spelling correct), who was my physiotherapist after both surgeries. She was very reassuring and has a lovely calming personality. She had lots of suggestions for helping me through some of the challenging times of my recovery. She only discharged me when both she and myself were ready. Bethany who works on reception. Such a lovely, bubbly young lady. Always had a minute or two for a chat. It really makes a difference to be greeted by a friendly person.

I have had a few major surgeries over the years mostly NHS, so when given the option of going to a private hospital due to covid and the amount of waiting time I accepted the offer. Wow I was dumbfounded from entry to exit every single person was so polite and helpful they couldn't go further out of there way to help. Im a week into my recovery and have had a phone call to make sure I'm ok, and if I have any problems to ring the ward. would most defiantly recommend if you are looking at going private or a given the choice by the NHS

I was in for a double hernia operation and feeling fairly apprehensive to say the least. I needn't have worried as each member of staff from the porter to the nurses, consultants and doctors were fabulous and put me at ease. The ideal of striving towards the values of the NHS are manifest in the personal approach that staff members make when assisting patients. Patient care is clearly of the utmost importance at the Beaumont and I would like to express my gratitude to all members of staff who assisted me during my short stay.

I have used the B.M.I. Bolton privately in the past and always been quite happy with the care myself and my family have received, however this time I am extremely disappointed. I paid for a private MRI scan on 30th July and was told my GP would receive the results in 2 or three days. I have been in constant pain in my back and legs and was hoping for an early diagnosis so I could begin the correct treatment. I have phoned every day since as my GP has still not received the results. I've been told twice that they have been sent out ,but still nothing. I have left messages which haven't been answered. There have been times when I just haven't been able to get through. Just now I am again waiting for a call back which I'm not confident is going to happen as radiology will now be closed. I am so upset and have been in constant pain during all this. I just want someone to help.

I’ve been having physiotherapy with Julita following surgery / arthroscopy on my knee. I have to say I’ve found her to be very knowledgeable and the exercises given have all been relevant to my recovery and I can’t fault her approach at all. She also has an infectious sense of humour and is clearly very happy in her role and this is good to see, and makes her a real asset to the hospital as a whole.

Really well looked after when I attended for my day case procedure. I cannot fault the staff, all were very welcoming and friendly to me. Great communication from Paul on the initial admission to the room. Excellent care and kindness from Taymar during my stay and I was made to feel at ease straight away by Gabby. Gill was very friendly and helped to settle any nerves I had on my way to theatre and Dawn in recovery was excellent at making me feel comfortable post op. Thank you to all the team, not forgetting Gill from catering who makes a perfect cup of tea which was much needed as I continued to recover.

I just wanted to say a huge thanks to all the staff that I had the pleasure of dealing with at The Beaumont where I had my operation. The whole experience was made as easy as could be with each stage of the process conducted in a polite, supportive and professional manner. So a huge thanks to Mr Harris, all the theatre staff, all nurses, the administration team and the catering staff on the day of my operation. Keep up the excellent work, Thanks Mark Davies

I felt in really safe hands from the first consultations to after care of my operation. Everyone was so friendly throughout the hospital and the team who looked after me were so lovely and made me feel reassured. Dr Hobbiss was amazing and I felt really looked after and in very capable hands, I have never had surgery before apart from child birth and at no point did I feel too worried. The anaesthetist was great too really reassuring and I have no bruising at all which is amazing. Overall a good experience

Jo the ward sister dealt with me and was absolutely fantastic. Professional and comforting. Paul the porter was a very welcoming porter. It’s nice to get a warm And friendly person when you are nervous about an operation.

From first admittance through surgery to discharge I was treated with care and kindness. All nursing staff were caring and helpful. The anaesthetist and his assistant put my mind at rest over any concerns and Mr Shepard was both professional and informative. On the admin side Louise Cross was particularly helpful in resolving any queries.

I found the whole experience very informative and comfortable, from my initial consultation to both MRI scans and the diagnostic procedure under sedation. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I was made to feel at ease throughout, I wasn't rushed out after the procedure, I could recover and leave at my own pace. I have had experiences whereby I was hurried out of the door still under the influence of the anaesthetic. I would thoroughly recommend Beaumont Hospital for treatment.

It's been a week since my surgery, I'm recovering quickly, I'm feeling better day by day. I just wanted to say that I've been struggling with my health problem for several years. Hospitals and GP doctors gave me medicines and advised me to take painkillers. When I was desperate, I changed my GP. he sent me to The Beaumont Hospital to see doctor David Smith who, after examining me without hesitation, said ok, in a few weeks we will do the surgery, now I can finally function like a normal person, a big thank you to the entire hospital for their help and I would especially like to thank Mr. David Smith, I highly recommend it to everyone Beaumont Hospital. this hospital is top 10 special thank you for great help great atmosphere I felt like in a hotel with doctors special big thank you to Jacky, Olga and Kate

Had to wait longer thank expected to be given a room had to ask before someone came to update us and explain why people after me were being attended to first. For a private hospital to only be given tea or juice and toast is unacceptable especially if one is in hospital for more than 4hrs. The service could have been better. The staff were under pressure due to high number of cases for the day and understaffed. The pressure could be felt by us patients.

I went into Beaumont Hospital in early May 2023 for a hip replacement operation. From the very outset the treatment that I was given was excellent - the Reception staff were courteous and friendly, the consultant was very approachable and understanding, the pre-op nurses put you at your ease, and my room for the night was very comfortable (and had a lovely window view) and had everything I might need. Just prior to my operation, the anaesthetist and theatre staff were wonderful, and the surgeon himself (Mr Alun Wall) did a fantastic job. The immediate post-op care was superb and the food was really tasty too! I have returned several times for physio treatment, which has also been very good. From my own personal experience I have nothing but the highest praise for the Beaumont Hospital and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone needing to undergo medical care.

Amazing experience today! Paul could explain enough what everything was in the room. The nurse Katie was superb in ensuring I had everything I needed and helping me around and helping me to get the stuff I needed. All the staff, even the theatre staff explaining everything what was happening and happened. They are great and friendly. Thanks so much for all your help and making the experience less stressful.

I have been having Physio advice from Julita since a shoulder operation in early October. She has excellent technical knowledge and has given me an exercise programme which has made a tremendous difference to my overall health and recovery. She is very professional and has a positive and enthusiastic personality. I can not praise her enough. Thank you!

Kelly at the Rivington Ward at Beaumont Hospital in Bolton was the most lovely, kind, caring nurse that I have ever been looked after by. She made me feel so at ease and calm before my operation, and made sure I was not in pain after it. She allowed me to sleep and rest, while checking on me to make sure I was okay. She answered all the questions I had and followed up with me by phone call the next day. She even rang a few times as I had missed the calls. I have never been treated with such care before, her service was second to none and she deserves a rise! I never really write reviews but I felt I had to!

My overall stay at the hospital was outstanding, everyone was so lovely and my room was impeccable. I was particularly impressed with the nurses on my ward, who really showed a deep care and understanding of anything that was wrong or what I needed. Thank you all! It was the best experience I have ever had at any hospital, the whole process, surgery and diagnosis was so quick and easy. Thank you to everyone.

I recently had a gynaecology scare and decided I wanted an expert opinion and what my options were. I managed to get a really quick appointment with a gynaecologist at The Beaumont Hospital who looked at my results and put me at ease straight away. Had a Hip replacement at the Beaumont 2 weeks ago, from the moment I arrived I was treated with such kindness by everyone. Nothing was too much trouble the staff on Rivington suite are so reassuring and listen to you if you have any concerns about anything at all. They made my stay a lot easier as it's not the ideal time to be in hospital when your family can't visit because of the current situation with covid. Initial consultation went ok although I came away without a firm diagnosis. I was prescribed some medication to see if it eased my symptoms but the size prescribed is unavailable. Despite contacting BMI and the consultants secretary a number of times over the last 2 weeks to get the prescription amended, (which was agreed)this has not been actioned. Not good enough when you are paying over £200 for an app - thank you for your response. The voicemail was received but on this call i was advised that the prescription would be reissued as it was not available at 4 different chemists. and an alternative option was provided that I could buy over the counter whilst I waited until the consultation was back at the Beaumont the following week. I have still not received the amended prescription. I am happy to replay the message to you if you wish?

Was in today 21/06/22 for a routine set of injections and this was my 1st time being seen at the Beaumont. All i can say is how nice all the staff were with me. Hating needles i do get a little anxious but was put as ease so well by all the staff and nurses. Special mention goes to Sophie who took me down to theatre and wheeled me back, she took the time to talk to me, reassure me and even take my mind off everything by asking about family and sharing about hers. Im so sorry i never got her surname but she is a credit to the staff there.

Had a few operations done privately over the years, the most recent today. The experience from the moment you walk into the door is exceptional The staff couldn't do enough for me, and are both caring and compassionate, making my day case procedure stress free. The only gripe is the new all inclusive pricing which includes things you don't need, however it is a small price to pay considering the alternative was an 18 month wait on the NHS. Thanks for everything, Ian

I have just returned from a general anaesthetic procedure at this hospital. The service I received was very good. The room was private and comfortable and the staff were very nice. One notable member of staff was the man that assisted the anaesthetist as they was putting me to sleep. As you can imagine, it’s quite an unpleasant time but the man was in constant conversation with me. He distracted me from what was going on but it was so genuine. He had a genuine interest in the questions he was asking and the conversation flowed perfectly. I almost forgot where I was! I wish I could remember his name to say thanks but the lights went out not long after our conversation. Overall I am very happy with the facilities and staff at The Beaumont Hospital. Thank you!

I was admitted on Thursday as a day case to have surgery on my toes. I was under the care of Mr Ring. He was a true professional ,knowledgeable and extremely kind. He really did give me some hope that my mobility could be improved and I can’t thank him enough. I have had several operations in my lifetime but a new experience for me was actually walking down from my room to theatre. It gave me a chance to have a look round and a chance to have a chat to the anaesthetist and her assistant. I also met Jane in theatre and she too was pleasant and really put me at ease On my return to my room I met a lot of very kind and caring people Jackie Teymar Lisa Amanda Dave to name but a few. My stay at Beaumont hospital was a very memorable experience and I would recommend it to everyone. Thanks to everyone. I felt like I was leaving a group of friends on my discharge. Writing on behalf of my mother who has recently undergone a full knee replacement at Beaumont Hospital under the NHS. She found the entire Beaumont team to be excellent from her initial consultation through to her discharge last week. Mr Ryan, her consultant installed a sense of confidence that all would be well, the nursing team showed care and attention at all times and Mishika on the physio team was instrumental in the post op recovery, ensuring that the exercises given were not beyond limitations but at the same time intense enough to ensure good progress and recovery. For my part the Beaumont team were great at answering my questions and ensuring I was comfortable and confident in providing care for my mother's recuperation.
