Captivated by the rich history and charm of Dey Mansion Museum in Wayne, NJ. The well-preserved artifacts and insightful exhibits transport visitors to another era. A perfect blend of education, architecture, beautiful landscaping, and fascination.

Great place to walk the grounds. I've never seen the house actually opened. The rear yard has a beautiful garden and an area for picnicking. There is a small museum or shop in the parking lot. I never saw anyone go inside. Not sure if it is only open on certain days or weekends. The Passaic County golf course borders the mansion grounds on all sides. Watch for flying golf balls!

I brought my mom here for one of the regular tours, and we loved it!! Our guide had a lot of cool and detailed information and history facts, and he made the tour really fun. They did a great job with both the interior of the house and the gardens, so I'd highly recommend visiting for a chill activity if you're into nice historical sites.

Well restored old fashion building with a lot of history to share. It is a pity that nobody has a single picture of the general, Dey or the immediate family. If you go, try doing during an event so you're experience is enhanced. Check the website for more details.

My visit to George Washington's Headquarters at Dey Mansion (pronounced die) was great. The tour guide, Ken was very knowledgeable and the tour was very interesting, if you like history. I would go again if they finish restoring the other buildings. The entrance was hard to find, so look for the sign for the golf course and turn in there. See pictures I posted.

Went back after many decades. Very nice historical place. I went for a talk on spies in Bergen county during the Revolution. Exceptional talk. I also stayed for the tour. I loved it. The house and grounds hold a lot of history and stories. I recommend this and watch their webpage for future talks.

A friend & I visited this historic home in December 2022. The visitor center is being renovated. We got a personal tour of the Dey Mansion. House is beautiful and well maintained. Tour guide was informative and entertaining. I would like to return in spring to see the garden which will feature herbs as well as vegetables. We donated $ and bought souvenirs @ the gift shop.

Great experience of an original American historical landmark. The only downfall, the golf course, where men urinate on tress as myself, my 6 year old, & my wife were exposed to as we made our way into the garden area for family pictures during our outing.

Meticulously maintained and furnished historical cluster of buildings that date back to prosperous Dutch colonists, used by General Washington on a regular basis during NY and NJ campaigns during the was for independence. Highly informative history major grad student led the 90+ minutes tour touching on life of the colonists, the war, the architecture and the technology of the time.

Pleasant grounds next to a golf course. Dating back to founding of america. Tour guide provides informative backdrop to place. The house gives a sense of what colonial life was like during war time.

It was super fun. We arrived late but they still let us join the group that was in progress. They showed us so many pictures and faces we never knew about. The place has a real old time feel to it. They were very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. They painted a very good picture of what it was like back then at the mansion. The gift shop is very nice and reasonably priced. Would definitely go to more tours of other places.

Wonderful experience! My wife and myself took our grandchildren on the tour of the Mansion, the staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and very engaging. Our tour guide fully explained all of the details of President Washington use of the Dey Mansion as his headquarters as well as the history of the Dey Family. I would highly recommend taking the tour to all

Had such a great experience here with my daughters! Each room was so much fun taking pictures of each other. Not a lot of rooms but definitely worth a visit. We bought the kaleidoscope glasses ($1 ea) and they made the pics a lot more fun. It's inside the Beverly Center on the 6th floor so maybe make a day of shopping and eating while you're there.

It's hard to describe why I dig this place so much, but I love to visit Dey Mansion. The outdoor events in the rear garden are good. There is just a mellow, nice vibe here. Highly recommend you check it out.
