This place is great. If you come here I recommend trying something you're not used to like the braised noodle soup. Their food like chicken and broccoli is good, but there's so many better options. It's a small place so there's not too much seating, but they have take out.

I leave this review with a heavy heart. Ts Ma has been my go to for lunch or dinner for the last 5 or so years. This restaurant was recommended to me from an old boss in which I recommended to many others in the Montclair area. The owner and staff inside of the restaurant are always very friendly and professional however, the delivery drivers are the worst. It started with 1 delivery driver leaving my food on the ground outside during the rain and never bothering to call or ring my doorbell as a notification that the food was delivered. My neighbor was kind enough to pick up and walk my food over to me. Although I was upset, I’m very understanding and not one to complain so I just chalked it up as the driver having a bad day or he or she simply was too busy and just forgot to call or ring my bell. Cool no problem I thought. I was dead wrong!! I didn’t order food for a while but after a few months, I hit up Ts Ma again to place an other order. This time the driver did call me however, he was rude af because he was lost advising that I gave the wrong address. I was annoyed that he even jumped to that conclusion since the restaurant confirms your delivery address on the phone and I’ve been ordering from them for years now. So I tried to help the driver get to my house but he was flustered and incapable of listening (not sure how he even got hired) so I had him tell me what he saw so I can just walk up to him and pick up my food. To add insult to injury, after I picked up the food, he was still rude, didn’t even greet me or apologize for anything and I left a decent tip at the time I ordered too. So I called the restaurant and asked to never send that guy back to my place. They said that they left a note on my account and apologized about that which was okay. Really it’s the driver that is the issue. Finally I get my food delivered by a different guy and this guy isn’t that much better. He calls you when he’s here. When you answer, his call, he doesn’t even specify who he is, all he says is, “food is here” *click*. At this point I was just happy that my food arrived hot and the driver could actually follow directions. That happiness was very short lived though. Sure this new delivery driver is a mute and can bring me my food hot however, that doesn’t mean it’ll be an enjoyable meal. While walking to my door this guy loves to swing the delivery bag of food like he’s Santa clause giving gifts to children. The first time I paid $30+ for a mixed puddle of food, I was annoyed but grateful to even receive it. But this time enough was enough and I had to share my experience with ordering from this restaurant. If you made it this far, thank you for reading this and if you plan on eating Ts Ma, I implore you to just pick it up at the restaurant if you really want to enjoy food that you pay for at an inflated price.

We tried this place last night after seeing such good reviews but the food was truly awful. We had the "crispy" tangerine tofu: It was so soggy, I can't believe it was even cooked. The real issue was the flavor of the sauce which tasted like orange gatorade with tons of extra sugar. Second entree was salt and pepper shrimp which was again, very soggy and had neither salt nor pepper. It was served over plain, barely steamed broccoli. Dumplings and wonton soup were doughy, bland and unremarkable. We threw out the entire order, which we've never done before.

Delicious Chinese food! Best I've had in a long time. Soups are delicious and not salty. The portions are big enough for sharing. Sesame chicken was crispy and delicious. Shrimp with walnuts had great flavor. If you're in the mood for Chinese food, this is the place.

Tried this restaurant on the strength of the reviews … which was a huge mistake. Salt and pepper shrimp was a soggy unseasoned mess of a dish. Dumplings and wonton soup are probably better frozen from a supermarket, very disappointing. Threw out 99% of the order and had to scramble to put together something edible. Avoid avoid avoid.

Ok…..I have given them 3 chances and they are out! Food simply sucks. Ever enjoyed good Chinese food? Then you know better….go somewhere else if that is what you are looking for here…

Very disappointing!!! Perhaps just a bad night for them, but the General Tso's Chicken was so dry, seemed old, and had little to no General Tso's Sauce. The steamed vegetables were way over cooked and had no texture or taste. I hate to waste food, and this was not inexpensive, but we could not even eat the meal. Maybe they are better at other times, hope so, but we will not be ordering from again. Sorry.

That anyone has given this place less than five stars is a crime. First off when you call to order they’re always friendly and courteous, miles above any other restaurant I’ve ever ordered from honestly. Next the food always comes more quickly than they tell you which is appreciated. Under promise and over deliver 👏 When the food does arrive it’s hot and fresh because it wasn’t sitting there waiting for the delivery driver to make ten other deliveries first. Can’t stress this enough. Next everything we’ve ever ordered is always a contender for the best Chinese we’ve ever had. Not just okay but truly standout. In every way you can measure a restaurant, TS Ms is it.

Found a raw piece of meat at very bottom of my tofu and veggie dish. Im a vegan of many years, so not happy about this. Not ordering from here again. This was food delivery order.

I have been ordering takeout from T.S. Ma in Montclair for years. It is always fresh, delicious and arrives piping hot. My favorite is the shrimp and Chinese eggplant with fresh garlic and ginger sauce!

Always friendly and professional staff, as well as prompt service! I've ordered the General Tso's lunch special from here several times and the food is always fresh & delicious, and they only use all white meat chicken. Portions and pricing are reasonable, the restaurant is always clean and organized. Take out or delivery only at the moment. Also, I received a slight discount for paying with cash.

This is our go to take out place for Gluten Free Chinese food! Always fresh and plenty of options for those with allergies everything is carefully wrapped and labeled GF with a sticker so no mistakes are made during large orders.

Great food, but this location changed to take out and delivery only with COVID and stayed that way. So for takeout, it is high quality ingredients, not greasy, and generally a few steps ahead of a typical Chinese food restaurant. Dinner entrees generally start at $20 (with a few exceptions). Website says up to 1.5 hour wait, but I have never had to wait over 15-20 minutes. Very satisfying!

It is a take out facility so I have nothing to say about the atmosphere. However food was really bad. It was bland, no taste, even the shrimps from the dumplings were not good , the texture was really bad like over cooked. The wonton soy was just a chicken broth with no scallops or any vegetables. And no taste at all. I will not recommend this food at all. Very dissatisfied

I was very disappointed with our dinner tonight. We have ordered from them quite a few times and it was always delicious but tonight the chicken was horrible, it had no taste, it was big and chewy 🤮 it's usually in thin strips. I wonder if they have a new chef?

Usually I'll get a delivery just for myself... a little on the pricey side for Chinese food, but it's always fresh and delicious! Plus, they gladly prepare special orders for me.

BEST CHINESE TAKEOUT I have ever had. They have all the usual dishes and definitely some different stuff too. So many healthy options too, if you are trying to be good. Some of our faves are the Tangerine Tofu, Crispy Chicken Szechuan, Mei Fun Noodles, Beef Teryaki Skewers and the Garlic Ginger Bok Choy.

Based on the wonderful reviews, I decided to go there to have a sit down meal but to my disappointment, it's only a take out place. I didn't get a chance to try any of the food. Because of the great reviews and convincing photos, especially the soup dumplings with the thin wrap (authentic soupy dumplings), I'll still give it 4 stars to not adversely affect the business but they really need to open it up for service. Otherwise, the restaurant description should indicate that it's only for takeout food.

Great place to order take out Chinese food. Slightly more expensive than typical take out Chinese but you get higher quality food. Basically you get what you pay for. Very efficient and streamlined pick up system.

Last time my husband and I did take out from this restaurant was before Covid. We ordered tonight because we remembered the food was great, especially the crab rangoon. Tonight’s meal was below sub par. We spent over $50 on various appetizers and most of them were edible but not enjoyable. The Ma’s braised beef wrap was inedible. Beef was dry, stuffed with whole parsley and no dipping sauce. Pork dumplings were doughy and flavorless. Cold sesame noodles were sour. Scallion pancakes were flavorless. Crab Rangoon was decent, at least. Incredibly disappointed that we spent so much money on terrible food. Wish I could get a refund. Will not be recommending this place to anyone!

I think that this restaurant has changed its management because their time has become inaccurate and the food taste has changed. I ordered big order for the family I found a piece of sand in it. I will not order from them again

Great food, but don't order online. I ordered on a Friday expecting a 60-90 minutes wait, as the website indicates, and the food was ready within 15 minutes, forcing us to change our plans. Then on a weeknight I ordered 30 minutes in advance and the food was ready 95 minutes later, and only because I went to pick up. If I had waited for delivery, it would have been much worse. I also waited 20 minutes after the time I was told on the phone to come for pickup.Maybe it works better if you order by phone, but after my experience calling and waiting there, I doubt it. I won't order from there unless they put in place a system to manage when orders are ready somewhat close to reality.

We have been long term customers at T.S. Ma but over the past few months the food has not been as delicious. Very disappointed as it was our go to for Chinese.
