Cozy antique vibe with about 8-9 tables. Food was very good, but you don’t get to choose what you get, just how much. For example, they have two scones and four sandwiches they make for the day and that’s what you get. You don’t get to pick from a list, which I haven’t seen before but is understandable to avoid food waste. Luckily they were the ones I would have chosen so it worked out for me. (I had looked at the menu online beforehand.) I got the high tea, which came with caramel and cherry scones (warm and so good), assorted savories (chicken salad sandwich, cucumber cream cheese sandwich, lemon basil cheese bread and a Brie jam tart). Everything was tasty but the chicken salad was the best. Dessert bites were ok and it came with a peach cobbler which was yum. I was glad I listened to the other reviews about the quiche. The table next to me was also not a fan. Server was super friendly and I never felt rushed. The only downside was the size of the savories. As you can see from the pictures, they really are only about 2 bites (except one was just a bite). I wasn’t expecting full sandwiches, but I thought it would at least be half a sandwich each. It was only a quarter of a sandwich, so that was the only downside. FYI- they have a 4% credit card charge. Not a huge amount, but figured I’d mention it in case anyone prefers to bring cash.

Quite an experience! Feels like you're in a british period piece. The server was incredibly friendly and the selection of teas they have is out of this world! I would say this is a great place to stay a while, chat, and drink tea. It's more of a light meal or snack place than a full dinner. The scones were lovely with the lemon and cream. We enjoyed the savories as well, but they were quite petite! It was also quite warm inside on a cool spring day. What's fun is people were wearing all kinds of dresses to fit the quaint teatime ambiance. It would be nice to take my mother and grandmother back here and dress up a bit!

I had my baby shower here and the place was lovely! The food was delicious, you can tell everything is homemade with love. My only critique was that I wish they had tea pots at the individual tables because they were unfortunately understaffed at the time. The tea was very tasty as well!

Tracey Rose I booked a seating for a total of 11. We had a 3:30 seating. We waited a half hour, which put us at 4 PM for a waitress to take our tea order. We were served our salad in a very bowl And a Very small slice of what they called quiche at 4:16. We had a three tier serving platter on our table that only had two plates the entire time, (The third plate stayed empty) and neither plate was full enough for 11 people. That was served at 4:38. At 5:04 they served finger food less than a 1/4 cut in 1/2 sandwiches (which I was told when I booked it we were having adult size servings throughout the sitting) All the Sandwich pieces had stale bread. Again, only two dishes on a three tier serving in the middle of our table. There was clearly Not enough food for the 11 adults. At 5:14 PM they put two dishes again with little pieces of a brownie tiny little bite-size pieces of a cookie with bacon, and little round cookies with pumpkins on them. They were stale. At 5:23 my sister-in-law went to get off her chair and the Chair broke, and she slid halfway on the floor and onto me sitting next to her. I immediately got the waitress and handed her the chair over the table. There should have never been a broken chair at the table to begin with. At 5:27 we were served a cobbler which was raw. By 5:31 Laura (I think that’s the receptionist name) Told us they are getting ready to close. When I booked this reservation, I told them this was a small baby shower for my daughter. Immediately we had to start opening presents because we were being pushed out of the restaurant. They were literally cleaning the tables around us with disinfectant cleaner and sprays. The service was horrible as we waited for water on the table, it took the waitress over an hour and a half to bring a picture of water and two glasses. Mind you there was 11 people at the table who wanted water. We also asked for refills on two pots of tea, And never received them. I left. They are paying almost $500 and everyone was disappointed with the service and the snacks they served. I would Never recommend this place and I will never go back there. The management should refund me my money because everything was horrible. We all went home hungry and very frustrated. We all took pictures and I could back up every single time that I Posted above. Pictures don’t lie and I have them all.

I really enjoyed the experience of coming here. The service was good and they were very attentive. I ordered the light tea, and it came with two scones, a white chocolate cranberry and a caramel one which were both served warm and with clotted cream and lemon curd. They were delicious. The tea was also excellent; I ordered the vanilla raspberry and my friend ordered the Feng shui which was also delicious. With your light tea you got a whole pot of whatever tea you select, which is enough for around 3 or 4 tea cupfulls. The quiche they served was not very good, however. It was rubbery, very tasteless and slightly cold. You have a choice between soup or salad, and I was grateful I chose the feta pear salad which was delicious, because the soup that my friends chose (tomato basil) was grainy and super acidic. I think the best part about this place is definitely the tea and scones, while the savories might not be the best. I would still return for the fun experience though.

Had the cutest Tea Themed Bridal Shower at High Societea back in November and it was such a wonderful experience! The place itself is so cute so minimal additional decoration is needed. Everyone was helpful and kind, very very nice place! My only critique is that more food might be needed but otherwise it was perfect. Thanks for making my special day so wonderful!

Extremely slow service. 30-45 mins to have your order taken and tea served. Food portions and presentation horrible. Came here once before and seemed much better than today. Did not even place the courses on the tray. Threw a plate with measly sandwiches on top of dirty plate. Other tea houses typically give more. Bread was hard and stale on sandwiches. The scones were undercooked. Clotted cream tasted more like a whipped cream. Lemon curd had weird taste as well. Quality definitely not worth the price. Have been to so many other similar places in NJ as well as other states and this one sadly falls short in comparison.

Twice a month, I come to High Societea and have the BEST time, whether I’m catching up with my friend over scones and sandwiches or having some me time with my book and a cuppa. Their food is excellent, their service is wonderful, and the seasonal decor changes are delightful! It’s so hard to find a good tea room outside of NYC here, but grateful for this charming place!

I was a little hesitant to go out on a date here. Definitely a good place for women lol! The tea options were nice and plentiful which was great as a tea fan. The interior was how you would imagine the home of “the old woman who lived in shoe’s” home would look. The food could be better everything was like freezer to microwave cuisine. I guess it’s an ok experience. Wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit.

We started my sister's bachelorette day here on Saturday. We were a group of 15 for Queen's Tea. Service was flawless and the place is adorable. Only thing is if you are vegan or have other dietary restrictions the options are extremely limited. If not, go and enjoy all the yummy treats they have to offer.

FOOD WAS AMAZING and displayed so beautifully. Have your next party here it is different, delicious and the venue itself is so filled with nostalgia.

High Societea provided above and beyond service both for my visually impaired mother and my husband who requires a gluten free experience. All of our food was delicious and the holiday caroling was such a perfect way to celebrate the season. Our waitress Dominique was especially kind and attentive to our needs and incredibly knowledgeable about different varieties of tea served.

I wanted to like this place but the food fell short. I’m a big tea person so I came here for Mother’s Day to celebrate. It is $50 per person, children are $25. You get 2 sandwiches which were the size of my pointy finger (really small) I got cucumber and chicken, the cucumber slice was chopped so thinly I could barely taste cucumber or cream (uh cucumbers are not expensive) the chicken sandwich tasted good. The tea I got ginger something) horrible. Why because I could tell it was from a tea bag. I did not come here for teabag teas. This should have been brewed from fresh herbs, and because it was not it tasted week more like flavored water. The sweets were below par, 1 macarons, 1 soft cookie, and a tiny piece of brownie. The only thing that seemed fresh was the brownie the other 2 was stale. The scones were the worst, I couldn’t understand why it was so chewy and would stick in my teeth (I’m in my 30’s in case you’re wondering) I could not finish it, but took it home and decided to put it in my toasted oven. Yep it was undercooked, it was not raw but it tasted like cookie dough and the scone was white not a tad brown with colour. Since it was my day I just didn’t want to complain. 1 star for ambiance. Not sure why this is so highly rated. For $50 dollars per person this place does not live up to the high ratings. I will be going back to NYC next Mother’s Day for Alice tea, much better tasting teas, tasty food and bigger size portions.

Unforgettable bridal shower here! The food was top notch, even the vegetarian and gluten free options were delicious. Generous portions and leftovers to take home. 4 kinds of tea flowed freely and setup and decoration is effortless - its already a beautiful place! The owners and staff work with you to accomodate your guests and any outside food or drink you want to add to their already complete meal packages. Why go anywhere else?

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! They were so kind and welcoming from the second we walked through the door. I came here with my grandma for afternoon teach and they sat us pretty quickly. We ordered the Queen’s Tea for the both of us and we were actually full by the time they brought out our final plates. We ordered the Crème Brûlée and Lemon Meringue tea, both of which were great, the savory delectable were also nice and warm. We’ll have to come back!

Very cute, cozy tea house with yummy food. The Queen Afternoon Tea is worth it, you will definitely be full. They have an ample selection of delicious sounding loose teas to choose from. Great place for an adult tea party!

We drove a long time just to have an experience in this place. But we left disappointed. Pros: -Nice interior for pictures; -Budget friendly. Cons: -Very average food and tea; -I had a dirty cup on my table; -They are not careful about people’s allergies. After discussing my dairy intolerance with the waitress I got a salad with cheese in it; -Very noisy due to the Birthday party. It’s more like a farm place. Nice for old ladies to chat.

This was my first time going to a tea room and it was great! Was expecting some good teas, which they absolutely delivered on, but wasn't expecting such good food! Soup? Fantastic, Quiche? FANTASTIC, pastries and cake? Awesome. Atmosphere was great as well, nice little cozy place. Plus the service was great, pleasant and attentive. Most people seem to spend under 30 but we went with the Queen's Tea which from my understanding was the "some of everything" option and came out to 35, which honestly really isn't bad at all for what you get. Would definitely recommend and plan to return.

Five stars for High Societea. Just came back from my daughters bridal shower and they were terrific. Food was delicious and service was outstanding. Michael and his staff were very attentive. I highly recommend reserving for any event or just visiting and enjoying tea time!

Great place! Had my daughter's baby shower here, everyone enjoyed it! Food was good, fresh& great selection of teas. I felt bad for Kate, there was a last minute call out, so she was by herself attending our party of 26. Well let me tell you, she did an amazing job! Laura did jump in to help from time to time, and the day was perfect for my daughter. Great, friendly service, everything was on time. Cute place, seasonal decorations, perfect for bridal or baby shower's! Highly recommend!

We had my daughter's baby shower at the tea house yesterday and we all had a wonderful time! The food was delicious and had excellent and attentive service. We celebrated my mom's 90th birthday there last year and in the many years that I have been there, I have never been disappointed. The best tea house in NJ!
