Busy dinner with old American war bomber theme. Kind service. Good food. I'd recommend something hearty. Had the bomber omelette and the captain crunch french toast. The omelette is closer to scrambled eggs. The french toast feels very light and fluffy- probably less nutrients there. The corned beef and hash was bland, dry, and the potato chunks are so large- it throws the whole dish off. Still a pleasant experience and happy to come back again!

Fun wait staff, good food and atmosphere very crowded at breakfast time, cleared out a little around noon. Tight parking

I love the atmosphere at this place and the service is excellent. My burger was over cooked and the pancake batter was too thick but I'd definitely go back. They were kind enough to make me a breakfast burger plus corn beef hash is excellent. I'd love to try their regular breakfast menu. This is an iconic place and worth a visit.

Wow this restaurant was #girlboss and a hidden local gem. All the waitresses were women the day I went to visit and despite how busy they were they were hyper organized and told me the story of their restaurant. The old owner had helped to feed the working men during the war, which led to the historic themeing of this restaurant. Generous portion sizes and a pot of coffee is always brewing. Would definitely come back!

First, OMG!!! The bill, what a wonderful surprise for three at brunch. When my daughter brought the bill back, I was happily shocked. We recently had brunch at a Leo’s Coney Island on MI Ave., maybe Canton way and the bill was between $27 - 31!! The waitress was cool and food was okay, but the total seemed over priced, even with all of the horrible stuff going on in the world!! Back to historic, great cooks, hot food and good coffee: Bomber cafe. My admission is that this is only the second time I’ve eaten here - shame on me. My country skillet with layers of sausage, gravy, potatoes, eggs and topped with real cheddar cheese was tasty and excellent. Fresh baked biscuits and French toast, crisp, flavorful and just right. No, you didn’t have to worry about extra flour powder nor a dry piece of bread. Do I have it going like that where I can afford to go out to eat? Yes, a little bit but I am blessed to do so, make no doubts about that. Do I have debt? You bet your a** I do, but, you must make time to treat yourself in all the little ways that you are able. Secret: I love to cook when I am not rushed. Fresh ingredients, blessed veggies, fruits you name it, once again our choices are a blessing and never a guarantee so please contribute to food banks and the less advantaged. Our food was on jam. We were all pleasantly happy, leaving with “to-go” boxes and full contented bellies.

This diner is our all time favorite breakfast spot! We love to bring our out of town visitors here. Besides the fact that the Bomber theme is a great tribute to the WW II history of the area, the food is fantastic. The wait staff is competent, friendly and efficient. Be prepared to wait during peak hours. (It's worth it!!)

Roast beef was tough and tasted like it had been left out all day. Bologna sandwich was just right but when I upgraded my side chips to a side salad they could have mentioned that I would have to pay full price for the salad. The cashier was nice enough to give me a senior discount.

Delicious and huge portions. Highly recommend the club and fried bologna sandwiches and of course the chili

Take a trip back in history… this restaurant take the blast to the past with World War II decor. Great opportunity for a quick history lesson with your children or those unfamiliar with a Bomber plant in Ypsilanti Michigan.. unique menu items like Captain crunch French toast. YUM! And for a large family, the bomber breakfast came with 10 pieces of bacon, at least a pound of potatoes, eggs of your choice and toast. It was enough to feed me plus my three kids we should’ve ordered a second Captain crunch French toast to go.. locally owned and operated staff was friendly and quick moving.

We had a great breakfast experience at the Bomber Restaurant. Even though they were busy, our waitress was attentive and informative. She answered any questions we had and made suggestions. The skillet breakfasts that we had were very good, super hot, filling and a decent value even though they are served on a plate and not a skillet. ;-) I can't wait to try the Bomber for lunch or dinner.

Average diner food. Large breakfast portions. It's really all about the WWII decor. Like a mini museum and worth the long wait in line to see the place.

Great experience. I had the grilled cheese. It was a rainy day so perfect for that. My husband had the chili dog. Our waitress was just enthusiastic and fun! We enjoyed our visit. Very cool bomber memorabilia.

A great small little diner. We took a part of 15 in around 1130-noon on a Saturday and we sat within 25 minutes. Very large & delicious portions

I enjoyed my meal I purchased the steak and eggs. It was cooked medium as I requested and very tasty. My husband ordered the infamous captain crunch French toast and enjoyed one of them. The other piece of French toast was under cooked so it was very soggy and not appetizing at all. But I think overall this is a wonderful place for a good cozy breakfast.

The place is the bomb. Tons of food on each plate! Cool little old school diner feel. I got the full Cowboy skillet and a half order of the captain crunch French toast. Both were amazing! At first I was worried about the cowboy being too “basic” because it only has a few ingredients listed and it seemed like too simple of a dish, but cowboy was I wrong! It was so good, It was the perfect mix. Highly recommend!

Amazing place to eat in. A nostalgic place. The minute you walk in there’s these memorabilia about WWI and WWII all over the place. The food is great! The serve a hearty meal. I ordered the Saddlebag pancakes today; they were delicious! I’ve ordered The bomber breakfast in the past; hearty enough to keep you full the rest of the day! I’m definitely coming back here.

Absolutely delicious. I mean, delicious. The portion sizes are really great, and the food was good. It came out fast, it was fresh. Every time I’m in town I would deff recommend eating here.

It certainly has the old diner feel, but not sure why there are glowing reviews. Service ranges from attentive and kind to they'll tolerate you with a side of grumpy. Food is fine, but so many other coneys/diners in area are better. The reason it's popular is history. Other than that, I'd give it a pass.

I’ve gotten takeout here before so I knew I loved the food, but I dined in for the first time yesterday and had an absolutely wonderful time. The atmosphere is so cool and the staff are incredibly attentive, patient, and kind. It was my first time bringing my infant out to eat and they were amazing with him. I also really like the setup of having one long table to seat multiple parties (there are also individual tables and booths if you prefer). It feels really community focused and friendly. We will be back soon!

A five star in atmosphere is simply too low! Love this place, easily becoming a regular here soon enough. The food is great, cost effective (large servings, bomber breakfast I'm talking about you!) and delicious which are two of my favorite things! Also love the vibe of the staff here they always seem to work like a well oiled machine. Ohhh and for Christmas they brought out holiday themed mugs and I'll tell you, my coffee tasted a little better that day!

Absolutely amazing! Huge portions, the friendliest staff, and our food was out super quickly. Everything was cooked exactly as we requested and was delicious. We will visit again when we are next in town!

Amazing breakfast. The captain crunch French toast is not to be missed. Home made corned beef is delicious and tender. Top quality bacon cooked to perfection. Atmosphere is inviting and interesting. Expect a wait, it's popular.

Institution in Ypsi! The parking lots a little tough, but brave it for the great service and delicious food. Ordered the country platter topped with country fried steak- and decided to share it (which was perfect because portions are large). Also ordered a berry and pecan pancake which was fluffy and delicious. Everything came out hot and fresh and quickly. I will definitely be back.

This is a very good place to have breakfast. Bomber has a homely vibe to it. The staff is always friendly. The food portions are very generous. The great tasting food they serve makes it full package. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast. Please do go their & support this local business. One thing which could be improved here is to add some vegetarian breakfast meal options to the menu.

I eat here all the time, and it's always an excellent experience! Easily my favorite restaurant in town. Only complaint is that they close really early, especially if you work late shifts and don't wake up until the afternoon. Sometimes I want breakfast at 2pm :(

Good food, lots of options. Pancakes were very thick (aka perfect), eggs benedict was good, Greek omlette was more done than I prefer omlettes (so if you don't like runny omlettes you'll be fine), and bomber breakfast was good too. Kids liked the tater tots, American fries for adults (not super crispy). Lots of stuff for the kids to look at. Will definitely be back.

I stopped at Bomber for a quick breakfast. I was able to sit at the counter immediately, although some larger parties had a short (1-2 minutes) wait for a table. The service was super fast. I was given a glass of water as soon as I sat down and coffee immediately after. My meal was ready in only a few minutes. I had corned beef hash and eggs. The hash is made in house, as compared to coming out of a can. It had large, recognizable chunks of corned beef, potatoes, peppers, and the rest. The meal was tasty, quick, and not too expensive. I'll visit again.

Great restaurant with good food and good prices. Full of history, character, and charm; you can't go wrong here. Love the smiling faces and pleasant spirits of the staff. Enjoy!

I highly recommend this place. The food is excellent no matter what you get. We were very impressed with our waitress Kaycee. She was very kind, thoughtful, professional in a very busy environment and our kids loved her. Treats you like family. Ask for her. Our young hostess was also great. Get the captain crunch French toast for sure! Only bad thing was we got full too fast.

Excellent food & service when dining in or getting take out. I got the French slam with bananas, caramel sauce, & pecans added to it. Their captain crunch French toast is to die for. I attempted making it at home the following week after having it because it was so delicious. The country skillet is another big favorite! Not to mention, it’s so affordable for the delicious flavor & amount of food you get!
