Stopped by on the way to Phoenix and we were pleasantly surprised with decor, local crowd, and service. Parking lot was quite fool. We tried house salad and pizza and the dishes did not disappoint!

We had been there once before. Service was much better and food better. This time our waitress seemed distracted and in a hurry. The food took longer, and busboy paid better attention than the waitress. Food was ok. The people who were locals were treated better and received service faster.

Great food, excellent service... I remember a kind waitress carrying me back to the kitchen and given a bread stick because I was being fussy..likely a late night..I couldnt have been more than 2 years old. This door brings back memories over 50 years old. We will always come back to Grasso's when ever in the area.

Since you asked, we ordered some pizzas and lasagna. We weren't happy with the pizza they had very little sauce and you completely lost us on canned mushrooms. The lasagna was just pasta and cheese! no sauce, ricotta or meat. I gave you two stars because, your staff was really nice. I hope your future patrons have a better experience.

Ordered the chicken gizzard meal. I have been ordering this for years and it has been my favorite meal. However once I ate it, the chicken was different. It was undercooked and tasted like liver and the texture was like mashed potatoes. It didn't even look the same as it did. The soup was also spoiled. Definitely will no longer be ordering again.

Sorry but not impressed about any of the food. It just didnt taste good. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the famous garlic parm bread. The spaghetti was dry, the 2 meatballs were okay, and the bread was just a huge chunk of bread that you could barely bite into. Pricey for what you get. Staff seemed pretty friendly but, I didnt have much interaction with staff as I orderd take out. I have to say I will not be back and was sort of in shock. After reading the reviews for this place I expected so much more especially when someone stated they drive from Yuma because its so good.

I wanted to try out a mom and pop restaurant and was craving Italian. I stopped in a few weeks back for dinner and ordered almost $200 worth of food so I could sample multiple dishes because I knew I'd be leaving a review one way or another. The appetizers, the liver, and gizzards had been under fried, not much flavor, hardly any bread crumbs, and the oil was not changed in a while by the taste of it. The bread was like sweet Hawaiian rolls; I had to request it. The Grassos house pizza was one of the better items I received but still little to no flavor. The salad was tasty at least, and the soup minestrone was absolutely 💯 amazing. It was the only thing that I felt could have dedicated itself to the original recipe in my opinion that is. Main dishes : I ordered the Linguini With Clams, Scallops & Shrimp, had only 4 small pieces of scallops and then no more then 5 baby shrimp didn't find more than 4 clams, all for $32 bucks, also very bland/ flavorless. Odered a second main dish the Veal Masala but out of stock on the veal, so I ordered the chicken Marsala with extra mushrooms, I got the can mushrooms they use on the pizza and no extra mushrooms or at least none I could notice the gravy was like butter water super sweet and no flavor! Now, the soup 🍲 I'd go back week after week for the soup minestrone. Desert was the absolute worst: I ordered my favorite Tiramisu, but this was dry as a bone, no coffee flavor or liquor flavor. I was choking on the coco powder coated of the top, and it was hard she advised me to microwave it, oh wow!! And This is why I gave the food one star, as for the service she was really nice as well as patient in her position, she worked there almost 15 years, but I was disappointed that the owner or manager never showed them selves at my table or even tried to see why so much food was uneaten and or going back to the kitchen, out side of the soup of course 😀. The atmosphere was pretty neat a little cluttered and with random decorations they had 3 separate areas but I was seated as a solo guest with the kids/family room I felt out of place for sure, normally I would been ok either way if had no other choice but they had 2 other seating areas one for couples and one just a regular section. I received no greeting that felt genuine coming in or leaving. I even left a few messages before I posted this so I could at least talk with the owners or, at the least, a manager but with no luck on a return call, so hear we are!! I'd say spend your money somewhere else, but there is not much to choose from in that town outside of Mexican cuisine.

Grasso's staff helped us celebrated a friend turning 70. Great food.

Food is fresh, service is always with a smile. Great place to go when you’re tired of chain restaurants.

It is unfortunate that when businesses do big expansions, Design engineering for sound absorbsion is not considered at all. In other words it was far to noisy to have a relaxing meal with great friends in this newly designed building expansion.

Great service, great food, family owned and operated. Better than Olive Garden or Caruso's. Try the sweet onion, tomato and cheese salad.

Not sure where the people who left the rave reviews actually ate, but it couldn’t have been here. Top three worst Italian dining experiences of my life. Garlic bread was covered in salty burnt cheese, lasagna had zero flavor and was a salty, greasy mess. On the plus side, the server was very friendly and attentive. You just need to put out decent food.

I am a foodie and like to try hole in the wall or ma and pa shops. The restaurant had a cute style but very over priced for simple food. Not at all flavorful, just plain. Unfortunately I wouldn't go back as it was just not worth prices to try anything else.

I was in the area for a week for work and was hopeful for a locally owned Italian restaurant. I read the reviews and decided to choose Grasso's. I ordered the lasagna and a salad to go. When I opened up the lasagna in the hotel room I was so disappointed. The cheese was burned and there was no tomato sauce. None! Not sure how lasagna can be lasagna without tomato sauce. I was starving and ate it reluctantly. Not impressed at all. The salad was okay. Not sure I could recommend this place unless they improve one of the most basic and standard Italian dishes.

Up against big box Italian restaurants Johnny Carinos & Olive Garden. As well as a local favorite Italianos. Grassos will always have it's loyal following. I dream of the pizza a la Liz. Def recommend the garlic bread. & If you can't appreciate beets on your salad, then I don't know what to tell you..

Excellent food, serious outstanding. Service was top notch. Great to see a family owned business continuing to thrive in El Centro. We all enjoyed our meal and had lots of leftovers to take for breakfast!
