My wife and I have done many different escape rooms and thought we had seen it all. I must say that we were thoroughly impressed with The Sorcerer’s Academy room at Cognito escape room! It was very unique and you can tell they put a lot more effort into the creative aspect of the entire experience that is different than a lot of the rooms we’ve done before. We will definitely be back for their other room in the near future! Would highly recommend if you don’t want your typical copy cat escape room and are looking for a bigger challenge!

Really great new escape room company. You can tell the put A LOT of effort into the rooms we were in, nothing seemed cheap or unorganized. I went with my boyfriend and my two younger sisters (13 and 14) and found there were puzzles and clues that were challenging, but solvable for everyone. I loved that there were a lot of puzzles to work through so everyone wasn't huddled around one thing all the time. There were aspects that I haven't seen at other escape rooms and we definitely loved that the people working there were enthusiastic and involved, and they really made us feel they valued our business. Thank you for the fun experience guys!

This is one of the best escape rooms I've been to out of the many I've done. The staff are incredibly friendly, accommodating, and quickly reply to emails and calls. The two rooms I did were amazing, one I did with my parents and one with my friends; they have rooms of varying difficulty and intensity that can cater to all audiences. The puzzles were very refreshing, creative, fun and challenging, and the rooms were well decorated and laid out with incredible attention to detail. I will definitely come back to try out the rest of their rooms!

Had an excellent time here with the room "unmasked". The decorations and room layout were done very well, with a good attention to detail. There were unique elements to this room that showed the creator's passion for escape rooms. Everything functioned as intended and the room was well kept. All puzzles were satisfying to decode and everything could be solved with reasonable logic and thinking.

I consider myself to be quite hard to scare but the “unmasked” escape challenge was actually quite jumpy. The ambience set the mood very appropriately, I don’t want to give much away but it is something you MUST do when you’re in Calgary. 10/10

An Amazing Experience.... went here for my friends birthday... It was super thrilling when we played the Unmasked...we are eagerly looking forward for the bloody mary...and they were so nice by giving us extra time to complete the tasks and escape the room...we really appreciate it.

Been to two escape rooms at Cognito (both 4 to 6 players and 6 to 10 players), and both were well executed. As advertised, there were parallel puzzles. The (optional) hint system in Unmasked was thematic and fresh. Puzzle/component pieces are maintained, and puzzles are varied and unique (so far - there probably will be concept/idea copying eventually).

I did Unmasked with two of my friends and I’m honestly speechless. I’ve done 4 or 5 escape rooms before but Cognito is one of a kind. The room is catered towards the people and they do an incredibly good job at making the story line as believable as possible. Cognito is better than any other escape room I’ve been to because the staff make sure to build the most cohesive, well integrated and challenging (without being too difficult) experience for the team. I would 100% recommend Cognito to everyone and I’m excited to explore their other rooms soon :)

Went here for the first time on Saturday for my birthday with a large group of friends. Staff was very accommodating, and quick to answer all of my questions during booking. They also allowed us to add two more people last minute. We did the Bloody Mary room, and it was fantastic! Very well done, and creepy as hell. I love that there are multiple puzzles that can be worked on at the same time, unlike other rooms that I have done at other venues. I've done 7-8 other rooms at different venues, but so far this has been the best one! Definitely recommend, especially if you like horror themed rooms. Will definitely be back to try the rest!

We had a lot of fun! We went into the Unmasked room and was given the option of a creepy or scary room, and because we had my 6 year old join us we choose the creepy version. It was a lot of fun, we had hints without being direct hints, well 1 was a direct hint, and because there was no one after us we were able to complete the room by going over a couple minutes. Edwin was so great and was telling us about the other rooms and that they contain and how they can be modified. We are looking forward to trying the Bloody Mary room without my 6 year old and just my older kid!

Been to many escape rooms in Calgary and this one has got to be my favourite! My group and I finished both Bloody Mary and Unmasked here. The puzzles were really good and just done better than a lot of other places. No linear puzzles and there were a lot if puzzles to do which allowed us to participate even with a larger group. Staff is super friendly and love the interaction they have with the rooms.

Awesome escape rooms - our group did Unmasked and loved it so much that we returned to tackle Sorcerer's Academy the next day. Puzzles are unique, challenging (also not linear so everyone can get involved), and had fun unexpected elements. Some members of our group have done a lot of escape rooms and would definitely regard this as one of Calgary's best.

Highly recommended! We were a group of 4 who have done a number of escape room previously, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience in the Unmasked room at Cognito! The puzzles were challenging, but made sense, and the room was very well done. The staff was also very clear with instructions and spent time with us after our escape to ask about our experience and how they could make the room better. We will definitely be back for the Sorcerer's Academy room.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating for our group. We tried the Sorceror's Academy room with 6 people and were amazed by the experience. The puzzles were highly creative and really drove the theme home. I appreciated that there was lots to do for our group with the non-linear style. A challenging room, but oh so fun. Kept us thinking hard and saying "wow". We definitely want to try Unmasked now and the other rooms once they open. Thanks for the great night out!

I went to Cognito for my first escape rooms ever about a year ago. We did both Unmasked, and then Sorcerer's Academy. Both rooms were so well thought out with a variety of fun puzzles to solve and the atmospheres, especially in Unmasked, were fantastic. Since then I've done 14 other rooms of various quality and Cognitos rooms still rank among the best by a large margin. We recently came back to try the Bloody Mary room and it too was fantastic. The staff are also a lot of fun and you can tell they enjoy what they do. Definitely make sure you visit Cognito if you enjoy escape rooms!

We had a ton of fun playing the Sorcerer's Academy room with a group of 8! The room is really well designed, with inventive and challenging puzzles, and lots of fun design flares and Harry Potter-themed touches. The staff suggest a minimum of 6 players with very good reason - this room would be next to impossible to complete with a smaller group! Our group of 8 was a great size, allowing us to break up into smaller groups and solve puzzles simultaneously. The owners were so great!! They are clearly really enthusiastic about their jobs, and were happy to walk us through and explain a few of the puzzles to us after we finished. Because we had to split up the puzzles for time management, it was fun to walk back through the puzzles and see what other members of our team were up to while we were busy in specific parts of the room. We're already planning a return visit to complete the Unmasked room!

The best escape room I’ve been to in Calgary! Customer service was amazing, the owner was very nice and friendly. The room itself was great and the puzzles were well thought out. Will definitely be back!
