Not a bunny savvy vet clinic. They will see your bunny but they are not specialists. I did not understand how bad this vet was until I found a proper one. They spayed my bunny and sent no pain medication home for her after care. She was in so much pain that she chewed her incision, that was just the beginning. Just do yourself a favor and make the drive to a better vet for the safety of your bunny.

Been going to the vet here for many years on two occasions I had emergencies and was told I could not bring my dog there the latest one was yesterday a pitbull attack my chihuahua when I called they put me on hold but before they did I told them I had an emergency, I was on hold for 4 minutes hung up called right back and told them that I had to bring my dog in there it was an emergency only to be told they didn't have time to see her to take her to the Animal Hospital in Bridgeton when I hung up on them upset needless to say headed towards Bridgeton when almost there they call me back and said they talked to the doctor I could bring her in there for them to examine her needless to say this was 20 minutes later seriously obviously it's time for me to look for another veterinarian if she makes it. It's sad that an emergency you can't even count on the doctor that has been taken care of your animal for the last 10 years of her life very sad.

I have been going to Howdershell Animal Clinic for 21 years for my pet needs. I have had several special needs rescue pets through the years. The doctors were able to help me provide quality care and quality of life. Each of them is very compassionate and dedicated to their work to help pets and parents. Their staff is also something they should be proud of. They work together as a cohesive team. They provide TLC to every pet they touch. I recommend them to anyone that needs help. They also work with several of our specialty care clinics for complex health cases, again as one cohesive team. Thank you to this incredible clinic for helping my fur babies stay happy and healthy. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful vet. The staff is compassionate, friendly, caring, attentive, and just there to make your visit better. They helped us through one of the worst times in our family's life and did with such compassion that we will never forget them, nor go to another vet as long as that is possible. Cassie at the front desk went above and beyond to help us, she truly takes her job to heart and is a wonderful person. The Dr. we worked with was equally friendly and caring, truly knowledgeable, I could not imagine someone else having been there for us. Every experience here has left me feeling I was treated fairly, both with service and billing. I cannot recommend them enough, just go see for yourself.

i truly can’t sing the praises of this office enough. my cats have seen every doctor they have and i’ve been happy with all of them. dr. vandis was particularly amazing when our household was going through the loss of a pet last year; she was so compassionate and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. i have two incredibly anxious cats and trips to the vet can be especially difficult, but from the moment we walk in the door the staff here does everything they can to make them comfortable. every single person that comes into contact with my animals treats them with tenderness and care. kaitlin at the front desk is also a valuable asset to this office. i work the reception desk myself so i know how difficult it can be, and she always has a cool head and handles things smoothly. tldr: if you’re looking for a vet office that will treat your pets like their own, look no further than howdershell animal clinic!!

They always do an amazing job with my doggos. I’ve been going here for 3 years now and everyone is very friendly and the cost for services is reasonable

My family and I had been going here for years and they use to be amazing but the level of quality has definitely dropped in the following years. First off one of my dogs that I’ve had ever since I was 12 had a bleeding nose, I called these people and it took them over an hour to get back to me only for them to send me somewhere else. Only took the other vet 10mins to diagnose him and prescribe him some antibiotics that they said I could get online and some medicine along with the antibiotics. Then there was another time where one of my other dogs had to go see. She got checked and was prescribed her meds, but my problem this time was with the lady at the front desk who thought talking with her friends was more important than dealing with someone who was ready to pay and leave. So I walked out and paid over the phone since my dog’s health was and still is more important than waiting for lady at front desk to finish tell her friends a story then doing her job. Now comes my last and final problem with them is that when I called them and it was nowhere near f their closing time no one picked up. Long story short, would not recommend them to anyone, would put zero stars if I could.

My family has been taking our pets here for a number of years. They used to be fantastic. Lately, the service has gone downhill. The front desk staff is disorganized. The vet we've had seems like she doesn't even like to be around dogs, and is an awkward experience. The only good thing I have to say is the vet assistants have still been nice. When leaving my last appointment, I told the vet I didn't need flea and tick treatment, just heartworm. When I left I was given and charged for all of the above. My fault for not checking--but after waiting around to be checked out, I just wanted to leave. I returned the flea and tick product. Instead of crediting me $220, they CHARGED me another $220. Note: they did not TELL me this receptionist messed up. Had I not looked at my statement, I may have missed it. So now I have close to $800 of charges from the vet and waiting 3-5 days for my multiple refunds. There was absolutely zero concern about this, and was just told like that wasn't a big deal or something to apologize for. I was already planning on not returning to this vet, but this has definitely solidified it. I would not recommend this vet at all.

I recently rescued 2 bunnies that were abandoned, and after some interesting health changes, it was recommended by an emergency vet hospital to reach out to Howdershell Animal Clinic. I called to schedule an appointment and while they were super busy, Dr. Woodworth was gracious enough to fit one in same day and the other a few days later. She explained everything in detail and helped me with some educational readouts to ensure that I understood the right foods and specific rabbit needs. From the first phone call to checkout everyone here was amazing. Their kindness, passion, and professionalism is by far a true gift! If you're looking for a safe and good place to bring your furbaby to, please give them a call. They actually care. And that means a lot.

Our pets have all been patients here, and we have always been extremely pleased with the care they have received. The doctors and staff are all very pleasant, friendly and professional. They put one of our beloved dogs down for us, and could not have been more understanding, compassionate or accommodating.

We’ve taken our dog, Maddy, here for her whole life of 14 years. We’ve always had great experiences until now. This past Friday we took Maddy in because she was breathing very rapid and heavy all of a sudden. Dr. Woodworth assured us that it was because she was in some kind of pain in her lower back. We asked if we should get X-rays, and she said she didn’t think it was necessary. We took her advice as the doctor, got her medicine, and went home. The next morning Dr. Woodworth was expecting a quick turn around with Maddy, but she was worse. We called and told her this, and all she said was to up the medicine dosage. So we did that. Later that evening, Maddy was struggling to breathe so much it was scary. She was suffering. We rushed her to the Pet Emergency Hospital in Bridgeton, and the doctor there told us she was in critical condition. Maddy’s lungs were filling up with fluid and she had congestive heart failure. We had to put her down that Saturday evening. I am so disappointed in the negligence of Dr. Woodworth and whoever else helped her come to her stupid, incompetent conclusion of Maddy. Maddy was 14, so I knew the end of her life was more close than far away, but because of Dr. Woodworth’s negligence, my dog had to suffer for a whole extra day and a half. If I ever get another pet, I will for sure never bring them to Howdershell. I am so unbelievably disappointed in them.

They have been here for me through the care of my babies since I moved here over a year ago. Everyone is always so nice and helpful. I love this clinic.

Great techs, vets, fast and friendly. I was there for about an hour. Pretty decent prices compared to other vets I've been to.

Switched to here after Florissant animal hospital started going downhill (in my opinion) and new staff I dealt with was so rude. Plus pricey. This place has reasonable prices and excellent and knowledgeable staff who are eager to help and answer all my questions. Not only do they see my dog but they also see our ferrets as well. And they saved the life of one of our older ferrets with hormone treatments so I am forever grateful to them.
