I have had many issues with Perlman Clinic, the most recent one being that they continuously send all of my referrals to the wrong carriers for 3 months!! So all of my urgent specialist appointments were canceled on me and after trying every possible way to update it - emailing in my ID card, adding it in mychart, showing it in person and calling their clinics daily they continue to get it wrong and not help me get my appointments scheduled. I can't believe how hard it is to update my ID from Blue Shield to Anthem Blue Cross but they are not capable of helping after me repeatedly trying every avenue to get this resolved so I can improve my health! I do not recommend this chain of clinics and two of my three doctors quit so there is no consistency or warning.

I got a rapid covid test here and paid $100 for the service. I went and completed the test and unfortunately it was positive. I was told my result would be emailed in 30 minutes to me so I could provide to my employer. They lost my result, I called and called no one would help me, I asked for another test, they wouldn’t give me one. I said I am risk of possibly losing my job they didn’t care. I am at home SICK and they don’t want to help me. This is adding more stress at this difficult time and it’s Christmas Eve. Do not go here. I will be changing my physician care from here. This is unforgivable, and negligent, this is not right. You ‘’Moto” is Dr - Advocate - friend I’ve receive none of that care.

Please go elsewhere for medical care. Women beware. If you need medical care, this medical group does not provide all the services they advertise. After being a patient here for three years and receiving excellent care from Dr. Buchner during that time, I assumed the rest of the medical group would be as talented and conscientious as he is. That was a terrible mistake on my part. I have made at least four appointments (for myself and my daughter) in the past month and they were all cancelled with no notice except a phone call I received about an hour before the appointments were scheduled to begin. They had me driving all over town four different times for appointments that I waited several days for, in all cases, and then I got the same phone call while en route to all four of the appointments, saying that my appointment should never have been scheduled. Each time, the person on the phone offered to re-schedule the appointment for me and even when I did that, I still was not able to access care for myself or for my daughter. Now, after several weeks have passed and we still have not been able to access care, I am getting phone calls from debt collection agencies because I’ve been charged $160 and was never even billed for it. They never billed me for anything and there’s no way I rightfully owe this medical group money. I have no reason to believe that these charges are legitimate or legal. My insurance has not changed and I have not received any services from this medical group that would even be billable during the time the bill was issued. I’ve reached out by phone twice and I cant get anyone on the phone. This is a nightmare. We’re a month into school and my daughter still hasn’t been able to get a physical. I still haven’t been able to access care that I need, which is a threat to my health and safety. Negligence and incompetence in healthcare is a criminal offense and this medical group needs to be stopped from doing this to people. It’s wrong, unfair, and unsafe for me to be in this position and I refuse to believe I’m the only person in San Diego struggling to access care and getting shut down by corporations that receive grants and tax breaks to treat people like me. I would be very interested to know how many grants and tax breaks these people get for “treating military families” and “providing women’s healthcare services”. I have already reached out to the customer relations team at Perlman Clinic, in writing and over the phone, and they have no intention of helping me with any of this. You MIGHT be alright if you just need a check-up and you can get in to see Dr. Buchner and, for all I know, the rest of their medical staff may be just as great, but I will never know because their office staff is permitted to mess up people’s medical care with no consequences or follow-up whatsoever. The way my household has been treated by Perlman Clinic is very concerning and I could never recommend this practice to other families in good faith for all of these reasons.

You ever been to a McDonalds where they don’t answer the drive thru and are out of beef? That’s the fast food equivalent to this place. I broke my nose. You’d think going to an urgent care is your best bet in this situation. Think again. 1. No X-Ray machine. They sent me and my busted up nose to an imaging place to wait in line and be X-Rayed. Then, upon finding out that yep, it’s broken. They just called me to confirm. Huh? 2. They can’t treat it. They referred me to a clinic that specializes in this. Which I understand. But they didn’t help schedule with the specialist. And when I called, I was told they can’t see me. So... what DID they do? 3. When I tried to call to get a different referral, no one picked up the phone. All. Day. Mind you my nose is basically falling off. I’m mouth breathing like a fish over here. After hearing their robot tell me no one is available at least 7 times, I followed its instructions to go online and send my request via MyChart. Their response later that night... “in order to change your referral, you’ll need to call.” So. How many times is this place going to tel me they do absolutely nothing!? They don’t treat injuries. They don’t diagnose injuries due to lack of equipment. And they don’t answer their phone or handle scheduling with people who do treat injuries. Definitely go here is all you need is a band aid. Anything more complex and you’re going to be left in the cold.

Literally the worst experience I've ever had with an office. It was truly appalling. The receptionist that booked my appointment for me was rude and sounded miserable, and wasn't listening to me when I was giving her my information so I had to repeat each thing twice. On the day of my virtual appointment, my provider never showed up after I was told that I would need to log in 15 minutes prior, after 20 minutes of no-show, I called the office. Come to find out she was running extremely late. I literally did not have the time to wait around for nearly 40 minutes for my physician while I needed to be using my phone for work calls. Never scheduling an appointment here again and will be calling TriCare to have them switch my assigned physician.

My husband and I just moved to the city and I needed somewhere to go as my throat was bothering me to the point where it was closing. This clinic REFUSED to provide healthcare to me even though they take the insurance.

As a new patient. I had a great experience with the friendly staff and Dr. Buckner was very attentive to my questions and needs.

I've been seeing Dr. Buchner for several years. He is amazing and will always discuss both traditional western medicine options, as well as alternative/natural approaches toward healing and wellness. Very thorough, cares about your health.

Finally, a great experience with healthcare. The office was clean, professional, up to date - but not stuffy, and everyone was very well organized. I had zero issue checking in for my appointment, and was seen almost immediately upon arrival. I also had zero issue checking out, and the front desk pros had no issue with my insurance. The Doctor (Sabrina Prijatel) and all nurses were attentive, thorough, patient and kind. And parking was easy, (parking garage in the same building as well as across the street). This was wonderful considering it's in kind of a hard area for parking (Hillcrest). I will be making this my go-to office for any future healthcare needs.

Wonderful office and super friendly staff. First time coming here and was very pleased! Staff all had sense of urgency, and I was in and out of my appointment faster than expected. I had all my questions answered and follow up appointments set.

The doctor we saw was great! Very knowledgeable. We were on vacation and needed help. We had a lot of trouble finding a clinic that would see a 10 month old for coughing. Though the nurses were unfamiliar with babies and had to have me take the rectal temp(after telling them I do it at home), they were very nice and caring. The doctor suspected him of allergies and asthma and we were able to come up with a treatment plan together that worked for us on vacation. It's only been 24 hours, but it is working super well. I got almost a full night's for the first time on this vacation last night. Thank you SO much!

Everyone was very professional. I expected to be waiting a lot longer but they got me in and out very quickly. The doctor was extremely thorough and asked a lot of questions about my symptoms to rule out different things. They also validate for a big chunk of the parking in the Wells Fargo garage and that helped out with cost. I also really appreciate that they got me in quickly today because I had an emerging issue that could have become something more serious but I didn't know for sure.

I don’t typically do reviews, but I’ve been seeing Dr. Buchner as my PCP for several years now. He is the best doctor I have ever had. He is extremely knowledgeable and keeps up-to-date on new information. He is always thorough but to the point and clearly cares about his patients. I genuinely appreciate the work he does.

This is by far the best urgent care I have been too. I am from out of town and needed immediate assistance. I booked an appointment online. They have several providers and I was able to get an appointment at the time I needed. The staff is super friendly, from the receptionist to the doctors and assistants. This place is super clean. You can park at garage and they validate your parking. I got a prescription to the nearby CVS. I liked it so much that my elderly mother needed to be seen as well. I booked an appointment for her the next day. They were very patient with her. Highly recommend!

I'm appalled by their complete lack of professionalism. The doctor was completely bothered by any questions we had. All he wanted to do was rush us through and get out of the room. He spent maybe five minutes with us after he knew this was our first time there and we were looking to establish a doctor/paitent relationship for ongoing care. Absolutely horrible service with zero consideration or compassion for the patient. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Finally, healthcare that is accessible when you need it! I spent so many years assuming that seeing a doctor meant making an appointment several weeks in advance - as if illness can be scheduled. I have had primary care physicians inform me they were too busy to book annual preventive care screenings. Several times when I was very sick, I had to weigh the options of waiting hours in an urgent care/emergency waiting room or just staying in bed and hoping for the best. Fortunately, after a recent urgent care visit to the Perlman Clinic, I found that the staff actually provides excellent care exactly when patients need it most. I was so impressed, I added the Pearlman Clinic as my primary care physician, and finally got an in-person annual exam - on the weekend! I didn't have to take time off work. I have been so impressed by the staff - from their knowledgeable healthcare providers to the friendly people answering the phone. They offer telehealth appointments, and have a great website with digital resources and appointment booking. The whole experience has been wonderful so far, and I am so grateful to have found them.

I’m giving two stars because this clinic always has appointments available day of, but their administrative processes are awful. They’ve had issues sending referrals (via fax) to Scripps Memorial for over a year and this delayed me scheduling my appointment for an ultrasound for 2 weeks! Each time I spoke with someone, they didn’t have proper info, didn’t know the fax number for Scripps. They sent my referrals out incorrectly multiple times and this is unacceptable when you’re dealing with people in constant pain. The frustrating part was being told that a lot of patients were having the same issue as me, but Perlman doesn’t seem interested in fixing the issues and prefers to continue operating inefficiently and not training their admins. But they charge you very quickly for their “services”. Last time i use them.

As a medical professional, this was BY FAR the best urgent care experience I’ve had. Next level, honestly. None of this “sitting alone in a room for an hour waiting for a provider” or “appointment was for 8, and I’m still in the waiting room at 9” BS. I was in and out within 40 minutes, with an appropriate prescription for my medical concern. Staff were friendly and attentive, building was new and clean, provider was awesome… THIS IS HOW URGENT CARE IS SUPPOSED TO WORK!

Although this was my first appointment I had with her she made me feel so comfortable, I felt like I had been going to her for years. Grateful to have such a caring and helpful provider. The front desk personal were also so kind. The waiting area is super clean. And the wait time was short for a scheduled appointment.

Facility itself is clean and comfortable. Staff was very nice and also very professional. Dr. Moorman was my doctor for my visit. She was very friendly, understanding, and really helped me out with the issues I was having.

My visit was great! Check in was quick and easy . The front desk associates are welcoming and nice. Parking and validation are also very easy. Dr. Bhalru was attentive and I am so glad she is my PCP.

The best urgent care we’ve been to. Breanna is an excellent practitioner. Professional diagnosis, excellent coordination of care with other health providers (including follow up and follow through), 1st class IT system and medical records, amazing customer service.

Friendly, kind providers who listened to my concerns and medical history. They seemed to really care and want to solve what was going on & didn’t just rush to prescribing something-but were thorough with their approach. Was also able to get treated fairly immediately. Would recommend going to this location if you are in need!

Julie seems to know a lot but will push you out the door quickly if she is not entertained. Her diagnosis was quick and not careful. Will be sure to see a different doctor next time I am injured. To be fair they are busy during these times. Take care of yourself.

My doctor appointments are always thorough. Dr. Buchner is a fabulous doctor. He’s been my doctor for many years. My health wouldn’t be where it is today if it wasn’t for him. I highly recommend him if your health has been suffering for a period of time. He WILL find the answers!

Dr. Anderson is the most caring Dr. I've had, and I'm almost 70 years old! Not only does he show compassion, he is also very smart. He works with you with natures healing properties, but also with scientific medicines, of course. All I have left to say is, I'm so glad that he is my doctor!

They have no issues getting you in for an appointment within ten minutes, but when you need them to authorize your medication no one knows how to do their job. This is the second time I’ve gone to this clinic and sat at Walgreens for over six hours while no one at the call center knows what they are doing. There’s no point in going to urgent care if you can’t get access to the medication you need. Update: I called Triwest myself and no one from Perlman Clinic ever called them to authorize my medication. It’s funny they manage to make the phone call to make sure they get paid, but conveniently forgot to make the five minute phone call for insurance to cover the cost of the medication for the patient.

I went here to get two penrose drains removed following a plastic surgery. Vania helped me do so. It was quick and painless. My appointment was at 3:40 and I was out of there by 4 PM. I highly recommend this clinic. I was self pay and the price was very reasonable.

After avoiding going to the doctor for a handful of years, my visit here was smoother than I could have asked for. Check-in was easy and everyone was friendly! The PA who saw me was kind and thorough, and really listened to my needs and concerns. Even after such a short first visit, I feel so comfortable returning for continued care.

Excellent service. Blood work done at the same location with urgent care available. Dr. Ortiz is very approachable and understanding. Didn't feel rushed like prior annual check ups with docs not associated with Perlman. Highly recommend.

I have been going here for a few years and usually have a great experience. However I have been sick for a month with 3 NEGATIVE covid tests, 2 provided by Perlman and they refuse to see me in person. I seem to get the same illness every few years and have been seen by this location for the exact symptoms in the past yet they refuse to see me with a negative test. I was prescribed a Zpack in December without an in person exam thinking I had strep throat. It did nothing other than upset my stomach. Isn’t amoxicillin the treatment for strep? I was then given a mobile step test which came back negative, why didn’t I get that test before given the antibiotics? My virtual appointment consists of me saying what I think is wrong after my google research and then they prescribe medication. Inhalers or putting me back on asthma meds I haven’t been on for years. When asked for an in person visit the response was even though I have a negative covid test the PA/Dr is not comfortable seeing me because my symptoms (nasal drip, sinus pain and cough due to the nasel drip) are all covid related. Why are you practicing medicine if you are scared to treat a patient? Aren’t you being vaccinated anyway?

Doctor thinks im crazy. With no evidence she want me to seek help. I admit that my life has been far different than anyone i know. She said my story is like so many that she has treated.??? I am a remarkable resourceful.Man.and i adapted to so many adverse conditions in my life. I have conquered all obstacles. With genius counter moves. With items i have found around my house.i am still safe and alive.

As a recent Medicare recipient I chose Perlman clinic in Hillcrest with Dr. Cabrera. The experience has been wonderful. Stellar staff, easy access to the Doctor and quick responses. Couldn’t be happier!

First time visiting and I was in and out within an hour! The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming, they answered any questions I had and gave me a lot of info and resources. I’m so happy I know about this clinic now and how easy it was to get a visit in with them; I’ll for sure think about them for the future!

11/17/23 - I had the best experience at Perlman Clinic in Hillcrest with Dr. Orr; he was amazing, listened well, very warm & intelligent. I felt blessed to have been in his care today. Perlman Clinic is a great resource indeed.

I have been going to the clinic at Hillcrest for few years now. It became so frustrating with the employees and physician assistants that I decided not to go there. Recently I had to visit the clinic again. I do see some positive changes. My last few times experiences have been good and I might continue using them again.

I’ve wondered about Perlman and was so pleased with my visit. Able to make a same day appointment, all the staff were courteous and welcoming, was taken in a few minutes early, the PA was attentive, she listened to my issues, diagnosed and took action with blood work, an Rx and a shot for immediate relief. I highly recommend this clinic.

I can't say enough about the care and treatment I received at the Pearlman Clinic. Efficient knowledgeable and bedside manner, impeccable. I'm glad to know their urgent care is available if I need them again. Thank you Emily Ence!

I've been coming here for close to a year now and each time I have such a great experience. The front desk, nurses, PAs, and doctors that I've had are just so nice and really help you to feel that you're being well taken care of. They always address any of my concerns and are very accommodating, informative, and thorough. Most of all, you don't feel like you're being rushed out!! Love to call this place my primary care. Highly recommend.

Brooke is so good with my grandma, very cheerful and very good at what she does. Dr. Ortiz is an amazing doctor. My grandma used to go to the hospital at least once a month but ever since she has been under the care of Dr. Ortiz, my grandmother has not gone to the hospital. My grandmother adore Dr. Ortiz and Brooke, she is always looking forward to seeing them both.

I got in the at the end of the same day. I saw Julie. She was professional, friendly and efficient and called persciptions in right away.

The ladies at the reception can’t check in properly. Last visit they did not check me in at all, this time they are checking someone else under my name. Get your act right!

Generally, quality health care is not difficult to find. I had been with Sharp Health Care, without discontent, since birth. However, I found the genuine character and personal service offered by Dr. William Buchner and the Perlman team to be unparalleled. I followed Dr. Buchner from Sharp to Perlman and have not been disappointed.

This office is always very efficient and friendly.

This was a visit prompted by a sudden series of ailments.My Primary was not available. I got in there on very short notice and saw CHELSEA, she was outstanding. Listened intently, made comments and suggestions, got me an RX, and this morning I feel better then I have in a week! I'll go back !

Dr. Buchner is amazing, his diligence to resource my medical issues to resolve them is incredible. His knowledge to know how and where to search for answers amazes me. He truly cares about his patients and their health concerns and is driven to help them. The clinic's medical support staff are very efficient and helpful. Worst care in the world !

This was the worst experience I have EVER had in a doctor’s office. Both the front desk ladies were incredibly rude and unhelpful. I was thrown out of the office for asking a couple questions about my appointment that I did not understand over the phone. Please do yourself a favor and pick a different location. I can’t believe these people call themselves healthcare professionals.

Always love my visits with Dr.Bhalrhu. She is very professional, friendly and asks all the necessary questions to remind me of anything I wish to discuss with her. I'm a happy, healthy 80 year old and she is definitely part of the reason. She stays on top of all my health issues, if there are any concerns.

Amazing service from check in thru check out. The staff were all so friendly and caring. Never felt rushed. My provider paid attention to detail and really took the time to be sure she had all of my history when I was establishing as a patient here in this clinic. Tests/procedures were explained in detail before performing and results were explained thoroughly as well. So happy I chose this clinic for my Primary Care.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS CLINIC! they didn’t rush explanations, made sure my options were clear and well informed, and weren’t rushing on antibiotics and actually cared about quality health care. All my visits to Perlman so far (including other branches) have been equipped with appropriate concerns (like COVID antibody testing) and staff were considerate and compassionate. Love them. They’ve also made compromising moves in the past for my domestic violence case where I couldn’t go back home for my medication and filled it for me after I left the center which I will never forget.. forever thankful 💖

Turns away injured poeple at the door. Not an urgent care.

I just moved to San Diego and was looking for a doctor when I came across Doctor Matthew Anderson. Dr. Anderson had to be the best doctor I have ever met. I felt comfortable talking to him about everything in which I had a million questions. I felt he was very honest, open, and helpful. Would recommend him to anyone looking for new doctor!

Kingdom of no-care. Went there for primary care for pregnancy. That was my first visit with them. 5 min, urine sample, pregnancy confirmed. They asked my weight, I didn't know. They didn't measure (I am even wondering if they have a scale) . They refer me to an OB/GYN. I ask to change for one closer to my home, "sure, no problem". I had no idea I was asking for the moon. Then I litterally had time to miscarry, get pregnant again and miscarry again, still no care. Even if I need an urgent care to make sure there will be no severe, life-threatening complications. I gave them dozens of calls, sent a bench of emails. You are lucky if they even pick up the phone or read your messages. Run.

I had a very pleasant first-time visit with Matthew Anderson, PA-C. He was extremely knowledgeable and addressed all of my concerns. The entire staff were very friendly and welcoming. I’m looking forward to continuing my primary care with Mr. Anderson at The Perlman Clinic.

This review is for Perlman front of house: Front of house lacks professionalism, knowledge, communication, and empathy. I will continue to go Perlman for the Doctors and Physicians as well as the difficulty in switching doctors. Long story short I made an appointment and gave all information and was forthright and honest on several occasions before driving to an appointment and front of house uses bad policy and fear to say I needed to do a virtual appointment. I called before hand and asked if i should come on person, giving all the same details. Not only do I loose hours of time but also get less quality medical screening. Upsetting. This is the second bad encounter with front of house that I have had. Second time gets a review.

Carly is simply amazing!!! She is kind, thoughtful, focused and very patient centered in her care plan. She listens to what her patients tell her and she thinks about ways to help them on their health journey. The entire team at Perlman is fantastic. Carly is just amazing!!

Phenomenal customer service. Lightning fast service. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and caring!! Will definitely be going back for future doctor visits! Office was very clean, organized, and patient oriented.

I have never written a review before but I had to because I had such a positive experience here. Sabrina was very nice and she took the time to really listen to and understand my situation and concerns (unlike so many doctors). The facility was very clean, staff were very nice and professional, and the wait time was SUPER quick (only had to wait 5 minutes after checking in). I was going to visit urgent care for my concern but the issue was not pressing enough to do that so I scheduled a telehealth conference and it was super quick and helpful. They scheduled me in-person afterwards right away since they needed a more thorough inspection to ensure I was getting the care I needed. Overall an excellent healthcare experience which is rare nowadays!

Clean, bright, well-kept facility with awesome staff. My appointment was easy, the doctor had great info and advice for me (even though he wasn’t my PCP), and my whole visit took about 30 minutes - plus they saw me 5 minutes earlier than my appointment time! I also got a same-day prescription and labs booked for next week at the same location. Honestly after going to this clinic I can’t imagine going back to any other practice.

I had a great experience at Perlman Clinic. I was feeling horrible with all the flu symptoms. Fortunately the receptionist was pleasant, the wait was short, the nurse was efficient and the doctor seemed very knowable. I have been taking prescribed medicine for 3 days and I am soo much better. My experience was pleasant and fast

I really enjoyed Perlman Clinic. From the front desk, to the MA & my amazing PA Kelly, I felt so supported. I will be coming back here and switching to this clinic as my primary care. The clinic is extremely clean, well managed. I would recommend Perlman Clinic Hilcrest to anyone I care about!
