Eric is a fantastic teacher, he is passionate about kitesurfing, has vast experience and adapts his approach to your individual needs. He is both easy going and fun but also tough when needed to make sure you don't adopt any bad habits early on. He provides all the necessary gear and also uses a radio integrated into the helmet to communicate with you at all times. I was in Mauritius for ten days and had about 12 hours with him where he got me to the point to (*almost*) reliably waterstart as well as kitesurf upwind, enjoying many good runs. Highly recommend him!

I’m a student from Germany and I wanted to learn Kitesurfing a little bit during my vacation in Mauritius. Eric was a very good and ambitious kiteteacher. I learned a lot about kitesurfing from him, theoretically and practically. After three kitesurfing lessons I managed to stand on the board and I’m really happy that I was able to make this experience. Eric always did it step by step, which is a very good way, because now I know every important thing about kitesurfing. With Eric, the kitesurfing lessons were always a lot of fun and I liked his kind of personality, because he‘s a very friendly and cheerful person.

I’ve had a 6 sessions with Eric. Each was perfect and I have learned a lot. Eric is a great coach and he has a very thought through learning method. He not only wants you to progress but also he wants you to fully understand what you are doing so you become more and more confident with your actions after each sesion. During the lesson Eric is fully focused on you, and keeps encouraging to do better each time. Equipemeny provided is very good quality and well maintained. 100% recommendation.

Highly recommend! I took three days lessons with Eric and learnt a lot (!) and gained confidence. Material was really good and the radios integrated in the helmet were comfortable and helpful.

What a great experience! Communication and scheduling with the team was easy and smooth. Once in the water Eric, the instructor, was quickly able to fix my issues and take me to the next level. Safety is top priority all in the while having a blast! Eric takes great care and pays attention to every detail that can make you a complete kitesurfer. After 2 sessions, I decided not to continue with Eric's kite surf coaching because I experienced an inpatient, angry and slightly aggressive approach to coaching. The first lesson ended up in tears, making me fear the kite. The introduction chat on the beach was done while he was fully engaged on his cell phone. I asked him many questions, most of which were already answered before I finished my sentence. And even some questions were Shssst away. This approach of teaching/ coaching might be successful for many other people, but it wasn't for me. I think his equipment, enthusiasm, and experience on Kite surfing are great; however, I would not give him my best rank on coaching, as that is how he manifests himself on the internet. All in all, a very disappointing experience.

We had two weeks of great lessons from Eric jr and Eric sr !! Inexperienced when we arrived and sailing when our holiday came to an end. What a great instructors!! And also important, we had a of fun! Thank you for getting to know you Both and see you next year. You have fueled our kitesurfing ambition even more! Colin & Joyce

Eric Philippe is an amazing kite teacher and someone with a lot of knowledge while being very humble. He is dynamic and very precise in his teaching techniques. He naturally connects with kids and teens. I strongly recommend him.

Eric is a wonderful coach. His commitment to correct technique becomes clear once you are on your own when the penny suddenly drops! His explanations and repeat instructions are patiently given and reinvented if you cannot grasp the concept. I had a refresher lesson with Eric and really enjoyed it. He is an incredibly experienced and passionate kitesurfing instructor. Since he is from Mauritius, he knows exactly which spot has the best wind and even drives there with you. Eric is an accomplished kiting instructor, and I can say that learning the sport under his guidance has been a fun, safe, and rewarding experience. I was new to the sport when I met Eric and his lessons have given me a solid foundation -- we covered safety systems, kite control, launching/landing, self-rescue, water start and now I am working on transitions. Eric is patient and very thorough -- a first-rate teacher overall. Learning from him has been really fun. I also liked that we were able to have lessons in different spots on the island (le morne and anse la raie).

Eric has been such a great teacher for me. We had a bit of a rocky start with covid 19 coming into place and us having to postpone our lessons multiple times. I recently have left Mauritius to live in a new country and I can comfortably say that my last session with Eric was the best and that I learnt to kitesurf under his teachings. His English(he also speaks french and Mauritian Creole) is great and also teaches you things that other instructors will not. He’s a great talkative man who is a fantastic teacher.
