    I wish I could give their grooming services 0 stars. They shaved off the skin on my dog's leg, then to hide the severity of the wound, they shoved Quick-stop in the wound. Quick-stop is a yellow powder that is to stop bleeding from ONLY cutting a dog's nails too short. It should NEVER be shoved into an open wound. Plus it has bacteria from dogs' nails and feet being in it. Once I got my dog home, the Quick-stop stopped working and the blood flowed out like a waterfall. When I got the dog to the vet, the vet was VERY ANGRY that the groomers put Quick-stop in the wound. Because of the bacteria in the wound, stitches could not be put in until antibiotic ointment sat on the wound overnight. So we did that, then the next day my dog was put to sleep so stitches could be put in. This was a 2-day, $600 ordeal that was really painful for my dog. Shoving Quick-stop in the wound to hide the severity of the gash was gruesome, outrageous and horrific. It caused more damage and pain for my dog.

    The petco on Randall rd is not giving customers their full rewards credit. And now I'm having trouble trying to load the credit. I'm getting tired of this and going back to petsmart, even tho it's farther away. They don't to this to their customers!!

    Whomever is in charge of showing adoptable pets at Petco, specifically the ones from Anderson Humane, has to communicate with them regarding the showing process. Two phone calls from Anderson told me I could go in without an appointment, and one of three from Petco told me I that I needed a volunteer to show me. What is going on? My search has to be done elsewhere now.

    Came here today to get one fish. We were there for an hour. There was one gentleman that was waiting longer then us, a family came in. More people waiting. We let them all go as the gentleman was there first, and the family had to many kids, touching and sticking hands In the tanks. The lady that finally came to help up Us immediately blamed the new CO worker for the reasons why there was no one by the fish or why it took so long. Worker seemed like she was more interested in having a social hour than doing her job. Also if there's a tank with dead fish she killed them because she doesn't know how to do her job. And completely covered them in the rocks that were at the bottom of the tank. She then put rocks into a customer's bag and could not find the fish as they were probably dead. Questioning customers is not part of the job either

    This is a smaller Petco compared to the one in carpentersville which is not expected. But I was able to buy what I needed. The selection of cat items is much bigger at the Cville store but if they have what you are looking for it isn't a big deal. Employees are very nice. Store is clean.

    Came in a day before a sale price was put in effect. Got there tomorrow for the sale price and they changed it to significantly higher price. They told me it was their mistake which is fine but did not do anything about it. Just more of “it is what it is” situation even after talking to the manager. It gave customers false information and did nothing about it.

    I love Petco. I have adopted several kittens from the store in South Elgin. The people are friendly and know you by name. They are pretty knowledgeable about the products they sell as well. I have never had any issues or problems with any returns.

    Okay Petco, they should take care of their live pets better. Fish tanks are often not clean and many dead fishes. All retailers are often short staffed so I can see why this is happening. More priority should be given to live pets.

    Got there at 8:05 pm and the store closed at 8pm, there was a customer still shopping but the sales associate wouldn't allow me to buy a can of wet dogfood for my puppy. He likes a mixed soft and hard blend. It's totally ridiculous how different races of people are treated!!

    There’s no other place for the best grooming for my dogs than this place. This was initially recommended by a friend, and everything is all fine when it comes to my pet, thanks to all of them. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. I go in here for the grooming of my pet. They always make a pet more beautiful than they were. There are a lot of things that are about how good things are. They are really good at their job, like they are so skilled at handling pets and all of that. They also really care for the pets, not only because it is their job, but I can also feel how good they are with the pets. Every pet that I have seen that has just gotten finished grooming here is so nice. I never heard anything negative from the experience of others while using the product. I am just really thankful to them because they always make everything perfect with regards to the pets. They also accept what kind of groom you want for your pet, which is so nice and they really follow through when there is a request. The cute pets really deserve to be in this good place.

    I understand this place wants to protect animals and fish...but the fact that they sell smaller Beta tanks and then don't want to let you buy it because it is "too small" does not make sense. Don't sell the small Beta tanks if you don't allow people to buy them. It is crazy. It almost seems like bait and switch.

    My fault for being late and needing to reschedule our grooming appointment; I get it. That being said, I am kind of glad it happened. I personally didn't like the vibe. For those who love it there, that's terrific. You need to find a place that works for you and your pet.

    Friday morning after dropping off my son at school, I pulled into the parking lot in front of Petco, to buy some dog food thinking they open at 8. I also seen a young woman walking in before 8. I assumed they were open but according to google, they open at 9. She was a worker parked near the entrance, I thought they parked in the back or the side but whatever, I didn't call the police for that, not a huge issue. I proceed to put in an address on my GPS for work at the hospital. I left not too soon after, before 8am. As I was about 10mins to my destination close to 830-845, I get a call from the police officer, who pulled my son out of class to say that there was a SILVER TOYOTA in the Petco parking lot threatening to tow!!! I said number one, my car is red and two, I'm long gone, I'm not even there. I 99% assume, that worker, the young lady with black hair, called the cops on me!!!! WTH?! Had my son pulled out of class to ask who's silver car it was?!? Can't help but to think it was a case of racial profiling. Why or how can the worker know how I looked?! Oh, because I WAS STILL IN MY CAR, THE WHOLE TIME and the police officer pulled up my license plates. She went that far, to take a picture or write down my license plates!!! She took the time to cause all this disruption, when I never even left my car. Definitely felt far from the community at this point. Why couldn't she approach me or go back outside to see if I'm still there or just don't do anything if you clearly see me in the car. Also, your tow sign says they will call Pete's towing, not the police and have my kid pulled out of class. If this is the case then write a sign on that too. Definitely never coming in here, for my two dogs.

    I used to bring my dog here to get her nails trimmed for years and always had a pleasent experience. Now, I can't get a hold of anyone in grooming EVER. I have left atleast 5 voicemails to schedule a nail trimming and I have not received 1 call back. I've tried the last two months and had to go to another Petco. They claim they want me to book nail trimming via phone because you can only book baths online but no one answers or returns calls! Very unprofessional to not returns calls when I'm leaving muliple messages with all my info.

    apparently they completely stopped caring about the aquatics department. the fish selection has become super lame. many times the tanks hardly have any fish in them or they are dead, tanks barely maintained.. it looks like who's ever taking 'care' of the aquatics department just doesn't even care about the aquatics department anymore. extremely disappointing. I've been going elsewhere for months now.

    My daughters were really excited to get a hamster today, however the rudest woman I've ever met almost ruined their day. I believe her name is Michelle. I told her the type of hamster we were looking for and she immediately cut me off and told me that we cannot meet them before we purchase one. Due to covid they no longer allow anyone to handle them. Fine, I can understand that. I then asked if she could see if the one we pick is at least not a biter, she again cut me off and said she "WILL NOT be touching them either". She was so harsh with her words, my kids faces dropped at this point. I asked if we bought one and it turns out to be mean, can we bring it back? She practically spat the words "It's frowned upon" to me. I got uncomfortable and said "Oh, that's weird..." and before I could say another word, she slightly raises her voice and condescendingly says "Actually, it's not weird..." At this point my kids are sad, I'm upset, I just say "never mind, we're going to go" and she says "Sounds good". Like what did I do to this woman? I've never had anyone be rude to me for no reason. Get out of customer service if you don't like people.

    Very friendly staff in this Petco grooming salon location! My mother and I have been walk-ins for nail trims for her pug, my Shepsky, and my small rescue dog who needs extra patience & reassurance. I feel better being able to stand and watch for my rescue dog and they have taken very good care with him. I have since moved out of state, but I know my mom and Toby the pug will be a returning client.

    I am a care giver and my client has a little dog. Her nails were so sharp and scratch my client making him bleed. I called the grooming service from Petco and asked if they could take her the same day. They were so nice and they accommodate my client little dog to clip her nails. They did such a wonderful job, the groomer was so nice. I will definitely recommended the grooming from Petco they are very professional and very caring.
