I went to the Evergreen Park USPS today (8/9/21 at 4pm). There were two African-American women working at the counter. One with a short haircut and one heavyset lady wearing a pink face covering. Unfortunately, I was serviced by the heavier woman who had one of the worst attitudes I’ve experienced at a USPS office. This was my first AND LAST time visiting this office due to the disrespect she displayed. She had little patience. I was unsure of how my packaged was to be secured being that I don’t mail things often. Instead of informing me in a professional manner she chose an unprofessional and condescending manner. Maybe it’s a lack of education, proper customer service skills, ignorance, etc. Why not retire or resign if you’re that unhappy with your profession?! Either way, they won’t have to worry about me ever visiting this facility again!

I have lived her for 12 years and just in the past 2 years, the mail delivery system has became TERRIBLE. We used to have an amazing mailman and I am devastated that he is no longer working on our block. I get notes in my mailbox that my house was skipped because dog barking. Are you kidding me?! I didn't know our houses are skipped due to dogs barking now? The mailman is so lazy that he will drop my envelopes on packages that are on my steps versus putting it in my mailbox! What if those letters flew away off the box? Now, I have been waiting for mail and had snow on my sidewalk. My house was skipped. Due to snow on my sidewalk! This is getting out of hand. How come the postal employees get to pick and choose what house they feel like delivering to but UPS/FEDex/Amazon... they ALL deliver our packages consistently. The USPS in this town is disgusting. I have never witnessed an optional mail delivery. Something has to be done about this poor service.

UPDATE: We where told that we should've been canceled and to leave cause they will not be providing services. After waiting more than a week for a passport appointment, we arrived the suggested 10 minutes early for our 10:00am appointment. We entered the building and an employee asked us what we where waiting for after we explained the employee stated "the person doesn't even arrive until 10:30". We decided to wait and informed them that we would wait outside since their service area is so small. At 10:30 we enter and asked if they had arrived, their tone changed, and started acting like WE where inconveniencing THEM. One employee stated "the system doesn't know when they will be there" and we don't know if they will even show up. We had to cancel all the appointments from yesterday". Three employees there and two had horrible attitudes, the other never even looked towards our direction. We got here early to respect our appointment time but it seems that staff here don't care about their clients!!! Miserable people working here. Will do everything possible never to return to this location.

I went to mail out my passport renewal and I was inquiring about the process. The lady (2nd clerk) immediately responded with well I don’t know in a very rude and unprofessional manner. I continued to ask as this location is designated as a passport location she cut me off and said I don’t know I can’t answer any of your questions. Then an elderly man stepped up and he was inquiring about ashes being delivered and she again was very rude and did not know anything. I looked at another customer and she shrugged as we were baffled by the unprofessionalism and lack of initiative to ask their supervisor for help or at minimum redirect us to their website. To simply put, it was I don’t know, I don’t care, I can't help you. I see now why they have such low ratings. Do better Evergreen Location USPS!

This place deserves no stars. Nothing but problems with our mail delivery service and when you attempt to visit the building the people are nothing but rude. The worker refused to service me because I didn't have a mask so I pulled my shirt over my nose and mouth and she still refused me even though my face was covered and her mask was down below her nose. She stated I needed a mask, I explained I waited for 20 minutes and that my current face covering covered more than my fabric mask does. She refused my service even though I have time sensitive material that needs to be sent back for work. This was AFTER I had waited TWENTY minutes for her to come up from the back to even begin servicing the customers that were waiting. This place is a sad joke. If you have any postal needs, take it to the next town over; don't even bother with this awful place and save yourself the headache of having to deal with extremely rude staff.

They are very unprofessional and I don’t recommend anyone to go here. Make an appointment with Passport Agency to receive your passport the same day. Especially, not going to this location applying for passports. I applied months ago and USPS lost my original birth certificate and passport application. Clerk 35 had a nasty attitude. I had to return to this location to speak with a manager recently. I reapplied without paying again, they shipped my information overnight to Passport Agency. Unfortunately, I am not receiving my passport in time for my trip to Africa, and I was supposed to leave June 10,2023.

My experience has been so bad with missing Mail that I opened up a PO Box to see if that helps. Its going to show if it’s the South Suburban post office in Bedford Park at fault or is it Evergreen Park. They have been incredibly unreliable and I would just like to pick up my Mail from now on a 24 hr facility like Bedford Park. The Mail carriers don’t even deserve the job. My arrives no earlier than 7:30 pm. Why are they even out that late. I don’t know if they are milking the clock or what but I can’t imagine a guy being out 12 plus hours a day for no good reason.

I would rate this postal service at zero stars if that were possible. Where to begin? Home delivery of all forms of mail has been days later than in surrounding areas for many years. We can easily compare because we have relatives and friends in communities nearby. Since our last reliable mail carrier retired one year ago, we’ve had a revolving door of personnel. Mail often arrives well after 5:30. Sometimes there is no delivery or just junk mail. Then—a day or two later—the box is overflowing. Another big problem is that our small home is one block from a large Catholic Church. Mail clearly addressed to the church or one of its priests regularly is put in our mailbox. Today a heavy box clearly addressed to the church was left on our porch. Seriously, should someone who confuses a small home with a large church with a stained glass window be delivering mail? P. S. Because of slow and indifferent service, long lines and lack of parking at the post office itself. we go to other area postal facilities to avoid a frustrating experience.

I ordered a package from Amazon to be delivered to my home. It was 42 lbs....far below the weight a carrier is expected to deliver. According to consumer affairs, the mail person signs an agreement upon accepting the job that they are responsible and capable of delivering a package up to 70 lbs. Well my particular carrier refused. She insisted it was too big and too heavy. The supervisor promised a delivery the next day at which point "we" would take the pkg out of her truck....not her. The mail carrier refused again. She said we spoke to her supervisor, not to her so she will not deliver it...and she didn't like my tone of voice. Well i didnt like hers either! Nor did i like the fact that she refused to do her job...one that is being paid with our tax dollars. My husband wound up going to the post office, picked up the package and carried it in the house under one arm...it was that light and far from bulky. Where is all this usps great service we're supposed to get? Needless to say I have escalated this. Why can't people just do their job! All I got from 2 different supervisors were excuses.... Amazon keeps dropping off packages that are too heavy. Baloney. I'm a senior citizen and I could have put this package on my porch. Enough with poor service. FIX IT! Poor poor poor service. Doesn't even deserve one star.

Horrible service. I went in for passport application and asked several questions but not once did it occurred to them to say I needed an apt. Nor is there any signs stating that. I got everything, got back to the office and I got a “oh you need an appointment”. Plus the back office person had a horrible attitude as if She gets bothered to answer questions. You work in a public office where you will get multiple people asking similar questions and it’s your job. If you don’t like to be in a public and community environment engaging with the people of the community than don’t work there!

If I could give zero stars I would. Our lazy carrier isn't reliable and doesn't work on Fridays so she can deliver on Sunday and get OT

Someone hit my vehicle on January 12th and my car hasn’t been fixed. I call and I can’t get in contact with anyone. I called to make sure they sent pictures and no one has reached out. I’ll be seeking legal action and reporting this location to the BBB

This review is solely based on the experience I received with MS. KELLY at this post office location. This was the second post office I visited trying to find help with a passport application. I got my passport picture taken at a different location and because I showed up prepared with everything I needed, Ms. Kelly didn’t shoo me away like other post offices did. She took care of both my bf and I and I am very grateful. She couldn’t find out appointment for the day but that didn’t stop her from understanding things happen sometimes. She took our application and calmly helped us both with it. Thank you, Ms. Kelly.

I was the next person in line and the ignorant worker had the nerve to ask me with an attitude “Ma’am do you need help?” It took everything in me not to say something out of character. If I am in line with packages under my arm and looking directly at you, what does that mean to you? I’m tired of young, ignorant workers with attitudes. Please do better.

I hate going into this post office! The people that work there act like they're being bothered! On the other hand, I LOVE MY MAIL LADY! I have to spend a couple days at my elderly mom's in Evergreen and the mail man there was rude and wouldn't take a piece of mail that I left in box for him to take. Told me to go find a a mailbox! I also live in Evergreen Park! My mail lady will take letters anytime I stick them in the mailbox sticking out. She has no problem with it. Unbelievable!

Just go to a different one or just go online and have your package be picked up during your normal routine mail delivery. There is one person working the passport applications and no one to relieve all other customers in line. No acknowledgement. This been the USPS for a while now.

I would like to start by saying that I work in customer service. I called this post office today because I had an appointment to get my 16 year old grandson his passport but had a question and I am a black woman and the black man that answered the phone was the rudest most angry person I have ever spoke with by phone and if I could rate this office a zero I would.
