It is a lovely hotel with stunning gardens. The rooms were great, but we're very hot as the radiators were on, and it was already a warm day, so I had to open the windows to cool the room down a bit. The breakfast was very good. I would happily stay there again

So disappointed in our visit here. We went for Sunday lunch with Santa, 2 adults and 2 children. We were seated in a function room which was poorly decorated, just a tree in the far corner. The waitress came to serve bread but we had no side plates. We had to ask for butter. The menu stated the kids starter came with a side salad which appeared to be limp cress when it arrived. I asked for my main course to be well done, it came rare and I had to send it back. When it came back everyone else had finished. The worst thing was there was such a lack of festive atmosphere. I expected more from a 4 star hotel. Bitterly disappointed and will not return.

Lovely stay at Nunsmere Hotel! After a quick drive from Liverpool, I stayed there for one night. The reception staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a lake and a stunning courtyard. Their risotto and glazed carrot dishes at the restaurant are amazing. While the room was spacious, it did feel a bit dated and dimly lit. Nevertheless, considering the price, it was an excellent value for money.

We celebrated my niece's wedding, had a great time. Rooms are beautiful, food was amazing and staff were very welcoming, drinks were expensive but is expected from a wedding venue., a bit pricey though.

Checked out Nunsmere for a venue for our future wedding. Lovely place set in a countryside backdrop. Considering Oulton Park is a stones throw away, I couldn't hear any noise from the track. Nunsmere definitely ticks the box for a Rustic Wedding venue. Whilst waiting to look around, we sat outside and ordered a pot of tea. This was delivered and poured for us.. top notch service. Rooms didn't disappoint carrying that rustic feel throughout yet subtle modern touches kept it from feeling old. Overall, a fantastic venue!

Fantastic hotel. Hotel receptionist on check in was very warm and welcoming and the one on check out was lovely too. Rooms were nice...Would prefer if the rooms had numbers on them as well as the names but I guess thats the hotels theme. giving 4 stars for cleanliness and service by the receptionists. Beds were very comfy and the shower was nice and hot. Breakfast starts at 8am but i feel the staffing levels are low. Taking long to bring items whilst only 2 members of staff were there but both dissappearing at the same time. It would be helpful if one member was there at all times to take orders. As breakfast is at 8am...they didnt start taking orders till 8.20am...our plan was to leave by 8.30am, didnt happen, left at 9 in the end....But apart from that a brilliant hotel and the wedding venue was just the best! Would definately recommend this hotel. The receptionist on check out was telling us how a bollywood movie was filmed there....I had to google it to find out it was sridevi back in 1991 for a movie called lamhe (Quite Interesting to know) Thanks for your hospitality. :)

Nice enough location, looks great from outside however whilst bedrooms are quite large they let themselves down with the poor finishing details. Cracked tiles in bathroom, scruffy around edge of the bath, poor painting and general decoration. No handle on wardrobe. Had to ask multiple times for somebody to attend the bar. Breakfast in morning not up to much. Flask tea and coffee and cold food. Dinner in the marquee was however quite nice. I have stayed in nicer and for cheaper. Would I stay again, no. Funnily enough I stayed in the hotel many years ago and I was very impressed.

Lovely building and grounds but tired interior. No flowers to brighten up the rooms and hallways. Spacious room with great view of gardens. Quiet at night but overheated. Bedroom had peeling blinds and boxing in bathroom coming away from walls. I think probably lockdown has had a bad impact on investing in what is a lovely venue. Breakfast was nice but muesli would have been better than the other very sugary choices, for me. Staff were pleasant.

We had a lovely Saturday night stay in this delightful and beautifully designed hotel. The food was brilliant and expertly done, chosen from a very well thought out menu. The junior suite was really spacious with an amazing view of the surrounding gardens. All the staff were charming, cheerful and extremely helpful. A special thanks to Charlotte and Caroline, nothing was too much trouble for them. Super comfy beds ensured a great night sleep. Full marks to Nunsmere Hall Hotel, see you again soon.

Lovely lovely place. Staff are so friendly and helpful. We did have an issue with our room ! We were staying in willow and it's next door to the boiler room and at 5am we were woken by it kicking in which can only be described as like loud drilling! We rang reception and the night manager told us to turn the radiators down and it would stop.....we did and it stopped! When checking out we told the lovely lady on reception about our early morning alarm and she repeatedly apologised and gave us a discount. We stayed here for 2 nights and that was our only issue and we will definitely stay again, although I think the bed should be a king size and not 2 single pushed together (slightly uncomfortable)

I came here for Sunday Lunch with Santa on the 11/12. I came the previous year and it was magical. So decided to make the 1 hour journey back and bring my mum. I work the Christmas period so this was our Christmas treat. On Arrival Father Christmas was in the Lobby talking to some older children, he looked at us, didn’t smile wave or acknowledge us at all. We were then seated in a room that was quite empty as not many people were attending. This caused a lack of atmosphere but not the hotels fault. Father Christmas came in, said a quick word to each family then left. He was gone for a long time. I then saw him outside with the same children he was with in the lobby. He came in again for about 1 minute. Then with a sack he just opened for my daughter to take a gift. She asked him for a Dolly for Christmas. He just smiled and walked off. I never saw him again. All he said to my daughter was nice clip. He wasn’t in role at all and didn’t interact or work the room. The staff delivered your food, no interaction, friendliness or showing any interest in their customers. I had to look for somebody for more drinks and again for the bill. The last hour we were left in a room no staff no Father Christmas. It was like an empty function room. There was no staff presence throughout this event and it as very expensive. Lacking any magic or customer care. I was truly saddened by this experience and have made a formal complaint. I was promised a call from the manager but failed to call me when promised. I would avoid this hotel for any occasion.

Beautiful settings. We attended a friend's wedding. I would highly recommend the suite. It was beautiful! Huge bathroom with a bath that feels like a mini pool, a shower that's huge, and the bed was really comfortable with plenty of room. Breakfast was nice, with a choice of cereals, pastries or a full English.

We had booked for one night, but instead of checking out next morning we extended our stay for a second night, and added two more rooms for other family members. On the second morning we extended two of the rooms for a third night. We came in late, left late, and could make little use of dinner, breakfast or the bar because we were coming and going at random times. Through all this, Caroline was a treasure, and the managers so understanding too, extending our stay at short notice and making sure that the last thing we should worry about was having somewhere to stay at night. Sadly our parent passed away, but The Nunsmere Hall Hotel (and Caroline deserves a special mention here) were so caring and empathetic that we knew we didn't have to worry about accommodation. By the way, the rooms we had (an Executive, a Suite and a Deluxe) were fantastic. I would happily encourage anyone to come and stay here. If only we could have got to experience it all a little more. Thank you Nunsmere Hall

A few years since our last visit and the first one under the current management. Lovely setting for a traditional afternoon tea in a country house setting. Staff were friendly and attentive while not rushing you as you need to savor the atmosphere. Finger sandwiches and cakes were good and we had a couple of cakes leftover that they kindly wrapped to take home for supper. Definitely recommended.

We had the most amazing wedding day and night, a massive thanks to everyone at Nunsmere Hall Hotel! Where do we start, we chose Nunsmere for our big day as we fell in love with the venue, grounds, offering and feel of the place when we went for a show round. It took our breath away! the marquee is such a fantastic space and the impeccable grounds and lake were the perfect backdrop for our memories! We had 120 guests and knew we wanted the civil ceremony in the venue and the wedding breakfast and evening in the marquee. We had garden games after the wedding breakfast and the whole grounds were perfect for our special day. The Nunsmere team were absolutely exceptional, from the initial discussions, planning everything, liaising with our suppliers, the amazing food and wine tasting, and making our vision come alive, to welcoming our guests and of course the service and attention to detail on our big day, it was just out of this world. The accommodation is gorgeous, quintessential and the food was 10/10, all of our guests were blown away by how good the wedding breakfast and the evening food was. Everything was seamless. It was so amazing being able to get ready with my bridesmaids in the morning, and my husband being able to get ready with his groomsmen on site as well. It was totally stress free, knowing that all of the preparations and suppliers were being looked after by the Nunsmere team. We did not want the evening to end and with all of our guests staying in the beautiful accommodation it was so great to catch up with everyone over a gorgeous full English breakfast the next morning in Nunsmere restaurant. The bridal suite is gorgeous and we didn’t want to leave. We are returning this year to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and we’re sure we’ll continue to visit in years to come. It was the best day ever and we cannot thank everyone at Nunsmere enough. Steph and Mark xx

Sad to knock down the service to three stars as generally the service was very good BUT, we arrived for a wedding at 2pm - went into the bar a bit before 1-30, but the bar had closed before I got to the front of the queue. The young lady behind the bar (the only person serving) gets five stars as she was working her hardest. Bar staffing is apparently an issue with the hotel, but it does let them down. Rooms probably old fashioned for some but we loved our room - Instant hot water as well, which is impressive. Top notch breakfast and five star service there as well. Would we go back - without a doubt but might have a drink at a local pub before arriving!

It's such a lovely place. We opted for afternoon tea, which was a treat. Serving a wonderful selection of sandwiches and desserts.Such beautiful surroundings, too. We enjoyed a lovely walk before and after our visit. Would definitely recommend this place.

My word we’ve stayed in a lot of hotels but this one is my fave and I want to go back when ever we have spare time. For the atmosphere and cleanliness and the staff are so lovely. Also nearly left out how amazing the food is the quality is outstanding. Can’t wait to book again .

This was a lovely hotel. We stayed in an absolutely huge room which was possibly larger than the footprint of our home. The room was traditional and well appointed with stylish furnishings. The bed was a very comfortable superking. The bathroom was equally impressive with separate bath and shower. Breakfast was served to the table. The grounds and gardens are well tended and a morning stroll around them is recommended.

We had our amazing wedding at Nunsmere and we cannot fault them at all. Nothing was too much of an ask! Our wedding coordinator, Erin, was fantastic. She made the process so easy and enjoyable. She's a credit to Nunsmere. Our master of ceremonies, Clive, was brilliant and our day went smoothly because of him and the team. Everyone was as excited for our day as we were. They have so many different options of rooms to choose from to get married in and we had access to them all. They accommodated us the night before with all of our decorations for our Alice in Wonderland wedding and helped get everything ready. The bedrooms are out of this world and are massive! We could go on and on about how amazing they all were. Thank you Nunsmere for making our day so special x

We had afternoon tea as a birthday present for Kathy at Nunsmere Hall, a beautiful place in a lovely rural area with fantastic views of the mid Cheshire countryside, we were made to feel really welcome by very helpful and efficient staff. The service was only surpassed by the wonderful food we received, all of which was prepared fresh and very tasty by the hotel chef, absolutely excellent, and really enjoyable, made more enjoyable by the friendly atmosphere and outstanding surroundings, I hope you enjoy the pictures. Dave.

Fantastic venue for weddings, was a guest at a friends wedding and the service was second to none. The setting is beautiful with it almost being on its own island surrounded by a lake which is a fantastic setting. Staff were really friendly and knowledgeable, helping people out wherever they could. The place doesn't have a fantastic phone reception which some may see as a negative, but personally I think it stops people being on their phones and gets them into the day itself. The rooms are really big and would definitely recommend staying if you can.

Hotel staff where nice, the grounds where nice and the building itself looked great however .. this hotel has so much potential but when inside the hotel it generally lacked atmosphere. We attended the afternoon tea, the food was nice but the room was dimmly lit and the atmosphere was simply dull The bedroom we stayed in again had potential to be great but some of the deco was tatty, didnt match, cracked single pain window, with an old warn settee in the room. Put it another way it was not worth the premium price I paid Which is a shame and a disappointment.

Stayed over for one to attend a wedding. The hotel is a lovely old building in a fab countryside setting. Surrounded on three sides by a lake, the lake isn't immediately visible to guests. Full of wildlife particularly birds, I heard a cuckoo for the first time in ages. The staff are great and very helpful as well as polite. The grounds are spacious and good for a wander. Great bar and and lounge and also a decent patio area. The wedding marquee is brilliant, accessed by a covered walkway seconds away from the hotel patio. It looked amazing as the evening became darker. The only thing that knocks a star of my review is that the rooms are slightly dated. That said....they are clean, decent shower, decent TV, free wifi, comfortable bed and the room wasn't used for anything other than sleeping in it. I must also mention Alice and Rudy for the great way in which they ran the wedding day and evening.

Enjoyed an evening meal with my husband last night, the food was delicious and well presented. The staff very friendly and cheerful, also met some of the chefs who take pride in the presentation of the meals they produce. The hotel grounds are stunningly beautiful with the lake surrounding it

Gorgeous hotel. Picturesque area. Absolute amazing food. Lovely friendly staff very helpful. Lovely and clean throughout. We stayed in a deluxe room on a groupon offer of room breakfast and 3 course evening meal. Could not fault anything. 100%

4 stars because not really wheelchair friendly with the gravel areas but however they did accomodate this by putting matting down and wheelchair ramps when needed. Otherwise a really nice hotel. Staff are really friendly and rooms are big and really nicely decorated.

Stayed here just the weekend gone for a wedding . The hotel itself is on beautiful grounds very scenic. Staff were very friendly . The downfall yhe room was booked for three adults was told on the phone they will put a single bed in the room . Upon arrival to my shock the single bed was literally a fold out bed with a very thin mattress. It was very cheap and uncomfortable. When I told staff was initially told that they always make guests aware the single bed is for children . I was not told this. Fortunately the staff member helped me make a bed on the floor with loads of duvets Also the rooms are a bit tired carpet missing in the corner and nail strip exposed ! For a four star hotel I'm shocked they don't actually have extra single beds !

I didn't stay the night after attending a party there last week but was very impressed with the grounds and the massive, brilliant marquee. The food served was superb and it's a lovely place, though I cannot comment on staying overnight at the hotel.

We only booked for afternoon tea, we were using a voucher, received as a gift. The hotel is in a stunning setting, inside is also very nice, albeit a bit chilly on a cool day towards the end of November. The staff were very pleasant, although our waitress seemed to disappear after serving us, obviously, due the lack of staff members she had other duties to attend. The food was nice, but not a lot of it, I have never been served such small scones and pastries. We had to look for a staff member to replenish our drinks and then again to actually pay as there was nobody about. The lack of staff needs to be addressed by the hotel, as it has put us off going back there and also recommending this lovely hotel.

Me and my wife have recently got married at nunsmere hall and it was the most amazing day of our lives! I couldn’t fault it! From the preparations and planning, the wedding team were very helpful with any queries we had right up to the day. The staff on the day itself were incredible! Couldn’t have gone any better - we had quite a few dietary requirements to deal a number of guests which the venue dealt with excellently! Thanks again Nunsmere Hall, I’m sure we will be back very soon 😊

Had a good night. Food for a Christmas do, was good especially the gravy and roast potatoes. The Italian duo entertainment was fabulous. However the house red Spanish wine was unpalatable. We just couldn't drink it. We had a poor reaction from customer service.. My advice is don't buy if at £22 a bottle it can be bought for £5.95. Not a good service hence 3 stars

20 July 2022 2 pm Ceremony 70 guests (same guests throughout the day & night). We’ve lived in NZ for 15 years and decided to have our wedding back in England. We wanted our wedding to be by the water, surrounded by beautiful gardens and an old stately home with a bit of history and the bonus of a winding staircase, Nunsmere Hall was the perfect fit! The 12 months leading up to our wedding, most of this time we were in NZ, our wedding coordinators were fantastic!! We worked together as a team and we always got the result we both wanted - both parties feeling organised, understanding expectations and feeling super confident that our wedding would be everything we wanted it to be! Our wedding day was amazing; ceremony outside, canapés and gin fizz in the pretty courtyard, wedding breakfast and dancing in the marquee! We weren’t sure if the marquee would feel too big for 70, but it was ideal!! We played around with the table layout, dance floor, and a room always feels full when everyone is ready to celebrate and have fun!! Our guests loved the food!! We had six guests with dietary / allergy requirements, and all of these requests were full filled with ease. As a couple, we love embracing the moment and encouraged the staff to embrace it with us and they did! The rooms are all huge and much bigger than we were expecting! Especially helpful for families coming with children! We are more than happy to recommend Nunsmere Hall for your wedding! Many thanks Wendy & Davey

One of the best, the room we had on the ground floor, named Rhododendron, was the we have had staying, great room. Grounds are really good to have walk, food is very good, a good breakfast before you travel home, would advise one and all to have stay here, have minimum of 2 nights and enjoy yourselves.

Had our wedding at this fantastic venue. The location is stunning. The hotel itself is incredible. The food is among some of the best I've had, and the best bit are the staff. They are friendly and genuinely helpful they made everything for us and our guests run smooth and effortless. We will be returning at least for anniversary stays to thus magical place and probably a few other times in the future.
