Overall the hostel is really nice. It gives a treehouse feel with the terraces on different levels. There's a nice kitchen to use and free drinking water (bring your own bottle). Some of the beds have new mattresses and they are really comfortable. So check before you pick your bed. Downside is the neighbors dogs. They are held on a short chain for most of the day and so the bark. A lot. Not the hostels fault, not the dogs fault, but it's kind of sad and annoying.

Staff not very friendly and ignorant to the fact that guests try to sleep early in the morning, mattresses are the worst I’ve seen in my life, the main door to the dorm can’t fully close because it jams so bad, the dorm has no proper windows or curtains and the main guest lounge area is 2 meters away from the beds. Their dogs bark a lot in the very early morning and half the time there’s no toilet paper. VERY expensive for what you get in return.

My family and I met up with friends at this hostel last weekend and loved it. The aesthetics as you walk in the door are fantastic in an indoor/outdoor design that allows for a tree to continue living right up through their whole building's layout. LOTS of birds frequent this tree and it's magical for someone who appreciates this aspect of nature, and maddening for someone who is looking for "quiet." San Ignacio is a busy city, and if you're looking for something quiet, I would stay outside of the city itself. This wonderful place is affordable, relaxed, cozy and part of the beat of the city around it. Everything was clean and well run, the manager and her staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and joyful. The kitchen has full amenities and was well kept, and the bathroom was clean. Our beds were comfortable (we got a private room on the top floor, and I woke in the morning to birds just outside the door/windows, and took some wonderful audio of them singing away). I didn't see the dorms, but the other's who were staying on the premises seemed to be enjoying themselves, and we never heard anyone's complaints. Our friends got another private room that included a private bathroom, where ours was just the beds, and then there were dorms and lofts throughout the property also available. The hammock area is quite cozy, and the entire place has a comfortable Belizean-life feel to it. A Charming stay for anyone interested in getting a bit closer to the local culture and life style. Parking here is tricky - this is a great stop for someone travelling without a car, but if you do have a vehicle there is parking available out front - on the narrow streets. We just let everyone out and then I pulled our large SUV up as close to the building as I could get, and made sure there was still space for people to pass on the road. This is normal in the area, so be prepared to navigate narrow streets, sharp blind turns, and deep, no-drive gutters. Biggest thing is to give yourself and other's space to navigate. Thank you to the Manager and Staff for being so wonderful to work with. We deeply appreciate you all!

Linda, her daughters & Trixy were the most excellent hosts & we met life long friends. It truly was a beautiful time. Located in the middle of the city, close to the local ruins, & 11 miles from the Guatemalan border. Our room was very clean. The hosts really are the hostesses & host with the most. Best memories!

Its a good place, with convenient location, however there was only one "private" room when we got there. It was located inside a dorm which ment we had to bother those in the dorm plus we had to share a bathroom. Good for just sleeping, otherwise pick a different place. Room was 77BZ$, and there were people smoking!

We stayed at Bella’s expecting a very basic backpackers accomodation but it was not a good experience. Pros - location is in town - hammocks on the deck are a nice place to hang out Cons - sheets falling apart, no towels provided, old lumpy pillows - we were aware there was no aircon, but even with a fan the private room was stifling. It was unbearable. - staff appeared high and out of it, whilst others were aggressively ranting in the common areas throughout or stay. Did not feel safe there. - lots of random people lurking around who did not appear to be guests or staff, but seemed to know the staff. - Staff told us a particular bus transfer didn’t exist, then when we organised it ourselves, we saw the same staff on the bus they had told us was non existent. I really wouldn’t bother, especially any women would feel incredibly unsafe there as a solo traveller.

Made my whole trip. I traveled throughout Belize for a few weeks, but my time at Bella's made it unforgettable. The hostel itself was beautiful -- a true treehouse with beautiful views and lots of open air spaces for hanging out. Centrally located right in town so easily walkable to everything. The staff, especially Dimitre, were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond recommending the best places in town and even hosted group outings. It was comfortable, affordable, and most importantly as a single female traveling alone, felt super safe. I will definitely be back and recommend to any traveler who wants to get an authentic, memorable experience.

A decent hostel. Some things that I did notice is that the wifi isn't the best, especially in some areas, and some of the staff become high during the day and night on weed. I'm not a really a big fan of the staff using weed, also because it makes them quite loud.

We spent 4 nights here. It's a nice and comfortable place to stay in. Linda did a great job and her hospitality is awesome. Only the first night our sleep interrupted with neighbors's dogs barking loudly. It's happened a few nights.

Bella’s backpackers is a great place to stay. Lovely design and layout makes you feel immediately relaxed and at home. Workers are great and will help you explore what San Ignacio has to offer. The location also makes it’s easy to get your bearings as it is very central in San Ignacio.

It was okay, quite basic and expensive for what you get. Not a super relaxing place because the neighbour’s dogs bark a lot, especially early in the morning. Friendly staff. The planned night activity didn’t happen for some reason so we did it on our own.

The double room was a great size, powerful fan and a beautiful little balcony. The hostel was super clean, spacious, fantastic kitchen and a very short walk from the bus station. The girl working (Sorry can't remember her name) was super sweet and helpful. This a peaceful hostel with great places to chill and close to resturants & bus station.

The hostel it self has allot of potentiële. But there is allot of work what need to be done. First what i liked: The owner manager is a nice person nothing wrong with him. The kitchen is great. The location. Enough space to relax and sit. What i dindt like. The bed was the oldest one i have ever slept on and you should replace it. Its extremely dirty and unacceptable. The electricity is open at allot of places for example the bathroom. If there is going something wrong you can blame your self (owner) because you take allot of risk with it. The stuff is high of the weed most of the time and you need to sit in the smell of it really not nice! It was a little expensive for what you get. Beside this all good and i hope you doing something with it

Staff are super nice and accommodating. It has the potential to be a party hostel but while I was there it a a mixture and I slept well. Dogs are a bit loud in the neighborhood but that's what you get for staying in the downtown core. Close to market, coffee shops, and car rental! Would stay again :)

We booked a private room for $35 USD/night. The room was actually quite charming with a big window and a little balcony! The staff was kind, too. The reason I am giving Bella’s 2 stars is because we didn’t really get any sleep. The private dorm didn’t have any soundproofing and the common area was right outside our balcony.. so while people were up talking (very loudly) until 2 AM, my sister and I were curled up in bed with ear plugs in and pillows hugging both sides of our heads .. and we could STILL hear everything…. The chatter, but also the cats in heat outside our window, the dogs barking until 2 AM and then again at 4 AM which then woke the dozens of crows that live in the giant (beautiful) tree in the center of the hostel. Also, there were no blankets or towels and our pillows felt like they were stuffed with packing peanuts 😩 We had an early morning ATM tour booked which costed us $250 USD together which we got about 3 hours of sleep for. We were supposed to stay for 5 days and left after that one night with no refund. It was worth it for some sleep, even if we forfeit $140 USD. The place, in general, is super cute.. but if you’re not a night owl, I would not recommend staying here.

Absolutely loved my stay in San Ignacio! The staff are great and were helpful in their recommendations. The hostel is spacious with a great vibe and central location. Basic but comfortable with free drinking water, kitchen and hammocks in the treehouse.

Location is perfect for the San Ignacio experience. Rooms were clean, and ready upon our check in! Hostel had free water (bring own bottle), and my mattress was good enough to get a nice rest, and my friends agree. Host, Lea & staff were very friendly and fun. Would most certainly recommend, and would come here again! Great prices for what you get.

I chilled here for five days. It's a great little place although the hammocks are in an inconvenient place. The famous sticking door was to my dorm but earplugs solved that problem.

We enjoyed the private treetop room. Loved the breeze and the view of the city. The staff were helpful and hard working.

We booked a room with private bathroom which was not available when we arrived. We got therefore moved to the treetop room which is their most expensive room! Well I am glad we did not have to pay that price, unfortunately the mattresses were extremely bad. We moved to the upper dorm after two nights and there the mattresses were much better on certain beds. The hostel is cery clean and the kitchen is superb, you will find all you need to cook any meal - exceptional for a hostel.

👍 Location is great, hostel has prison cell vibes, with small windows up high with bars on them so not the most natural light. 5 stars for AC which is good for cooling down after being bitten by insects!
