The food is good and a bit different from what we are used to. We tried the prawns, the mushrooms with bacon and cheese and the fish soup as starters. Then we had the cod with chestnut puree ( a surprisingly good combination) and the grilled octopus. We were full, so could only try one of the desserts, so we went for the cheesecake with pumpkin jam (another nice new combination). I thought the service was a bit slow, but staff were very nice and they were hosting a big reunion in the main room, so I guess it's ok. Food was still super tasty. The views from the outside terrace are very nice too.

Had dinner on a Tuesday night, not very busy. Had a bottle of red wine, grilled octopus and the mushroom risotto. Everthing was top-notch and under $70 for the whole meal. Grew up in Zambia so was drawn by the name, Mozambique influenced food. Worth a try, very elegant setting and decor.

Zambeze Reataurant has great views and great food. If you are not familiar with Lisbon it may be hard to find as google maps doesn’t tell you that you need to get in an elevator to get there but you do. Once you get to the supermarket Pingo Doce there is an elevator in the entrance part which will take you up to the restaurant. It is pricey for Lisbon which is to be expected considering the location. I went for the duck ginger and coconut curry (21 Euros) which was cooked to perfection. The duck was so tender. The food was hot, fresh and served in a generous portion. I also had a caipirinha (7 Euros) which was great. Fully crushed limes and the right amount of sugar. All things considered I would recommend this place for a bit of a splurge. It is worth it!

This place has a really nice outside terrace with great views across the city. Drinks are expensive as expected as its very close to St Jorges Castle. Great place for a break on your way up to the attraction. Service is okay, but you're coming here for the view.

We were thrilled to host our meet & greet event with 80 guests at Zambeze before our wedding day, and we couldn't have chosen a more perfect venue for the celebration! The breathtaking view and ambiance truly set the tone for the evening, creating a magical atmosphere that captivated everyone present. The food and drinks were not only delectable but also incredibly accommodating, allowing us to customize the menu to cater to various dietary needs, including allergies and vegetarian preferences. The service provided was exceptional, characterized by warmth, professionalism, and genuine friendliness. Both us, the wedding couple, and all of our guests were enamored by the charm of this place. Our experience at Zambeze was truly unforgettable, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff for making our event so special. Thank you for your outstanding service and attention to detail. We are looking forward to the opportunity to visit Zambeze again soon and relish in the wonderful memories created on that remarkable evening!

I recently had the pleasure of dining with a group at the Zambezi restaurant in Lisbon, and I must say, the rooftop experience was absolutely breathtaking. The stunning view of Lisbon's skyline combined with the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing cocktail or a glass of wine while watching the sunset created an enchanting atmosphere. our group dinner began with a complimentary drink on the rooftop, offering stunning views of the city during sunset. Moving indoors, I selected the "caldo verde" soup, featuring amazing smoked chorizo and delightful cuttlefish and squid curry with rice. It was a delicious and satisfying choice. However, the sword dessert, two chocolate mousses, fell short of my expectations for an upscale restaurant. They lacked the homemade-style richness I had hoped for. Despite this, the overall experience at Zambezi was enjoyable, with attentive service and a diverse group menu. Zambezi offers a memorable dining experience with its breathtaking rooftop view.

Beautiful location and great views from the terrace. I was excited to read about this Mozambique/Portuguese restaurant but slightly disappointed that they did not have my choice of meal, the crab curry. So I tried the prawn curry and was not too enthusiastic about the curry sauce. Did not seem authentic to my tasting. The hospitality was warm and friendly. Perhaps the occasion I went on that night was relatively humble, I think, for days surrounding Valentine. It should have been busier with customers.

The restaurant interior is quite nice. They have lovely plates with very interesting design. Food is also quite nice, although for an upscale restaurant it is not. They need to work a bit more on a presentation. And the service is really not good. Waiters spill drinks, are not very polite or helpful. They require training in manners.

Zambeze is located at the top of Elevador Castelo, and has both a separate rooftop bar (offering drinks and snacks) and a main restaurant. We visited the rooftop bar twice for cocktails and the restaurant once for dinner. Cocktails were great, and the views from the rooftop bar are excellent. The restaurant serves East African cuisine and is nicely decorated and well staffed. Food was excellent, particularly the octopus salad and grilled chicken.

Modern and elegant rooftop restaurant. An interesting gastronomical experience, mixing Portuguese and East African food. I've had several plates, and all of them were quite tasty. Service is very professional, and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

It's a nice restaurant, but overrated for my opinion. I had a veal plate and it wasn't tender as I was expecting. The wine I had was good.

One Star because no other choice. We came around 10:30pm after we were told it was ok. Proof with the picture : service stops at 11pm. We were refused because they were supposedly short staffed. But there was only a table of two customers ! So it's a lie to advertise that you can come until 11pm if you don't take customers. Which is illegal in some countries fyi. Customer service means nothing for them, which is a shame as Portuguese people are usually very welcoming. We could see the manager was not very agreeable After all those steps to go up for the rooftap, that's lame. But don't worry, there is a little bar like 50 meters, very cute, the employees are very nice, the view is so good, the beverages are perfect and not so expensive !

Celebrated New Year in this restaurant. We had a wonderful time. Food was excellent, the staff was. superb and the whole evening was great fun. The view of the fireworks.added to.the party. We felt it was value for money as the cost included dinner, drink , entertainment, and a late summer.

(Group event) (Value for money?)The 4 courses had too much starch and oil and too little meat/fish for the price. It wasn't oily but all courses (other than desert) were oil-based. However, they were tasty, well-thought out and cooked well. (Rushed service)The gap between courses was too short and they started packing up while people were still eating and stopped serving wine after the main course. However, the service was prompt and attentive.

A nice restaurant with rooftop! We had a quick stop here, and while having something to eat you can have a beautiful view over the city of Lisbon. Prices are also good.

Absolutely delightful. Must try the Mozambique dish of Curry Ginger and Coconut duck stew. It was so good I ate before taking photos!! Attached is photo of Chicken and Coconut Milk. Views are delightful and a late lunch is less crowded. Marvelous experience!!
