Had to wait for our meals for over half an hour. One meal was served the other 3 was not. Outside needs a good clean. Like tables and seating. As had lots of tree debris on them. Staff was very sparse but friendly.

We visited on a Friday night a couple of weeks ago for a relaxed Friday night meal and a drink. Having not checked out the menu beforehand, we were very pleasantly surprised to find that we could order burgers for just £5, even on a Friday evening! Given that we’re vegetarian, we were also very pleased to see we still had some good options. For drinks, we had a couple of cocktails - my wife had a “Purple Rain” and I had a “Godfather”. These were very well priced also at two for £8, which is again very good value for a Friday evening. We sat in the eating area towards the back of the pub where it was relatively quiet and comfortable. The place could probably do with a good clean or refurbishment though, or that area at least. We ordered a halloumi burger and the “Moving Mountains” burger to share, and got both of these for just £5 each which was brilliant. Both burgers were really good, and were served incredibly quickly as well. The Moving Mountains burger is tasty, but still doesn’t beat the “Beyond Meat” burgers!! There was a bit of a wait for the drinks, but they did bring these to the table which was nice. The only downside with the food was the very small amount of chips we were given, which made half of the plate look very sparse! If we’d known that was going to be the case, we’d have happily paid a little more for an extra portion between us. All in all, this was a really good meal considering how low the cost was, and we’d definitely look at going back in future.

Good Sunday Roast. Steaks were decent. Liked the ambience. Ample parking. Has outdoor seating also.

It was our first, and only time, on Saturday,we waited by the doors for someone to greet us and after 5 minutes we sat down,10 minutes later no one came to us so we went to the bar and again wasn't acknowledged, we were just stood there so we walked out. Luckily we did or we wouldn't have found the gem down the road and had a lovely evening.

Nice place to sit outside, in the shade as it was an extremely hot day. We made our choice of food and went to the bar to place an order, to be told "we don't do sandwiches at the weekend" fair enough, but we should have been told or, it should state it on the menu. Went back to our table to find alternative, returned to the bar to order, to be told we don't have gammon! Back to the table to find something else off the menu, returned to the bar, finally success! Food came no salad garnish! We ordered chicken goujons and prawn cocktail off the starters. Food wasn't particularly good. Wouldn't return. We were told that there was a shortage of staff in the kitchen. Fair enough, but please, before customers order from the menu tell them what's available and what isn't if you are not offering everything off the menu. It causes frustration to your customers.

Food has improved. I had a very good lasagne with a vinaigrette dressing on salad, my friend had sharing nachos with added pulled pork. Good offer on bottled beers and ciders. Good service and the staff very helpful.

First time in here last week, although my partner has been before. We had food which was very reasonably priced and nice for the money, especially the pizza 🍕 . We will definitely be back 👍🏼 As a side note; In the past we have tried to visit and use the electric car charger ⚡️ but on several occasions it just wouldn’t work, which isn’t the pubs fault I accept but it lost trade as obviously we would of been in for at least a few drinks if not food too.

Came here to have a meal with a friend. Booked a table, but was no point as there wasn't anyone to welcome us. No table service, so have to order food at the bar. If you don't drink there regularly don't expect to be served quickly. Food was OK, but unfortunately due to the lack of service I will not be eating here again.

Our visit to Kings Head with colleagues was fantastic! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the staff were exceptional. From start to finish, we felt well taken care of and enjoyed every moment. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience. We'll definitely be back!

We booked to see Santa for breakfast. The whole thing was so badly organised, the staff looked like they'd just got up, nothing was ready, we didn't know where to sit, and there was still a Happy Birthday banner up, presumably from the night before ! We waited 2 HOURS for our food!!! By the time we got ours, most people had eaten theirs, seen Santa, and were getting ready to leave. When our food eventually came out, it was OK, but my daughter had beans and toast, and the toast was so burnt she didn't eat it. The Xmas Dec's were very minimal, some Christmas music would have been nice to create some atmosphere. A couple of us moaned, and we were given a full refund and an apology, finally. It's a shame, we've been in there for lunch on a few occasions and the service has been much better. I'd say this was a massive learning curve for them!

We had a great family meal 2 weeks ago and so decided to go back for our wedding anniversary. Great service and fantastic food on both occasions. Food was cooked perfectly and delicious. Complements especially to the kitchen staff, who were working in extreme heat.

Food was good. 2 of us are gluten free, we ordered 2 cowboy burgers, and 1 gammon and eggs. Chips were lovely, burger good, but felt it could do with a bit of moisture, a bit dry, maybe tomato, or onions. Staff very attentive.

We had the party for our Son’s christening here today and it was absolutely brilliant. Lovely food and plenty to go around for all. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, they have helped through from booking to offering to help us set up. We had a whole room to ourselves and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to all the staff at The Kings Head.

We booked a Wake/Reception and opted for a buffet with tea and coffee. Nothing was too much trouble. Michele and the team were extraordinary. From the minute we made the booking, they were super helpful, gave options, allowed us to set up a few things to make the space more personal, and were generally amazing.

Big garden so plenty of space to accommodate different groups of customers. We had a party booking for 25 people and we fit comfortably using the garden space whilst there's another event on inside the restaurant area. Food was good and service was great. We especially loved the pizzas. Big thanks to Michelle.

Arrived to have to find our own table after asking at the bar where it was. Was told there is a reserved sign on it and was directed by staff sitting at the bar where to go. To then get to the table to be told that there is no food other than burgers on the menu so we left!

We had a really enjoyable time out for my dad's birthday. We went at about 3 o'clock and the place was quiet. The food was delicious and good portions. The staff were really friendly and efficient. It's a really nice place for family's and friends.

Is a 30 spacious local pub with a very local atmosphere where the staff and the regulars know each other well. Can be a little disconcerning if you're just popping in. Decent sized restaurant area.

I have always liked this pub over rhe past 20 years. Won't lie sometimes the food has not been on parr. Sunday the steak was lovely, shame they had ran out of the roast dinners at 2.30. Short staff but still did their best Glad to see they have entertainment back on. Will have to check a weekend evening to see what its like. Bottom line. Nice to see a pub not closed down. They do need to put flower baskets back on the front of the pub to make it look more attractive.

Brilliant organisation. I had booked an area for my father’s wake. Lovely food. Well presented. We were left alone and not bothered, but staff were on hand if we needed them.

Cozy place to have a nice meal, staffs are super courteous, are were really welcome to me and my family. Since we are immigrants, sometimes I'm afraid of speaking wrongly the english language, but staffs made me comfortable at my own time and generous! Definitely coming back another time to enjoy that place again! Oh, and the steak ale pie is one of the best food I've tried so far in the UK, I super recommend it

Food and service very average. Probably OK if you’re a group of friends watching sport in the bar, but wouldn’t recommend for families or to ‘treat the wife’. In no rush to return.

My daughter and I went for lunch, we only had 1 hour and a lovely attentive waitress saw that we got our food quickly. She checked up on us, which I see as good customer service. Food was lovely and hot, price was decent!

The pub is ok if you like Marston's pedigree and Wainwright golden ale. Other than that it's all the usual keg lager at the bar. Food it quite good to .quite lively no music but TV screens at each end of the pub Large back garden and good parking area also served by buses close by.

Back after a long absence as this pub went downhill. Well what a surpise, when we came in a cheerful lady was cleaning but still had time to be welcoming. Pub looks so much cleaner and brighter. The food was amazing, seems they have a new chef - lets all hope he stays as he will definately help pull the pub round and get its once great reputation back. So impressed we have book for sunday lunch!!

I spent a lovely evening here with my friends. The food and service here is always brilliant. The staff are always cheerful, jolly, helpful and accommodating. They anticipate what you may need and make great suggestions for drinks or food to enable you to get the best deal. It is always a great atmosphere in the Kings head and we will return again soon. Thank you. Keep doing what you are doing.

Service was fantastic. Hayden was an excellent member of staff who made us feel super welcome. Vegan options were very impressive and a lot better than similar pubs. Food was well priced and tasty, especially the cauliflower wings. Very happy.

Not a bad pub in general but staff are so slow. There is a fire exit door where there was a table next to it and we were sitting there and people + kids keep knocking that door and their friends keep opening it. I know it’s a fire exit and has to be open but that doesn’t mean you can always use it, which made the whole place cold. Also what are kids doing there after 7pm? I saw some tanagers bought 2 bottles of wines and went to drink them.

My friend & I had been looking for a pub that did a Sunday roast, I was informed The Kings Head did. I will definitely not be going back. We ordered our food which appeared less than five minutes later, it was obviously already been plated up & reheated. It was the worse roast dinner I have ever had. So disappointing. This place has really gone down hill since the last time I was there.

Went with my wife, last visit was over 20 years ago and it was good then. The bar staff were not exactly friendly and attentive, this is definitely a clicky regulars pub. We went for food was asked what table we replied don't know well go outside so was told there's a different menu that's outside on the table I would have thought they would have some at the bar so paid for drinks needed to ask for receipt looked at the menu which is not too dissimilar to the indoor one went back in to order waited for two bar staff to finish serving 1 regular, ordered needed to ask for receipt again. Food came placed on table not asked if we wanted condiments or cutlery just left to our own devices. It's a shame cos food was good but the service and overall experience was not great. We may go back as we live 0.4 miles away but won't be my first choice.

Good food at very reasonable prices. All seven of us enjoyed what we ate. Great service from the young man looking after us. He also made a friend in our seventeen month grandson, Don’t know his name but hopefully we’ll get same server and service next time. And that won’t be too long.

I was more than pleased with the service I received. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection my partner went for hunters chicken which she found to be amazing. The decor and staff were really pleasant. Great value compared to other establishments in the area. I will recommend to both friends and family . Thank you to the team at the Kings head great service. I will be back for more soon no doubt.

I booked the whole area of the restaurant last night 20th January. I was appalled to learn that even though my food orders were requested a few days prior to event the kitchen staff could not provide my request on the night. When meals started to arrive, I was disgusted that they looked like they had been thrown together on the plates. The presentation was totally unacceptable. I was asked if I wanted one egg or two with gammon, one or two pineapple rings. I requested one of each on the two meals. They arrived with no pineapple and two eggs just slapped on top of food on the plate. I had to ask three times for one of the meals. Some of my friends whose visit was their first time said that they would not go again or recommend the Kings head. Surely in this day and age quality service and food is vital for a business to survive!! Not once we're we asked if our food was OK. I chose not to complain last night based on my guests not wishing to spoil my daughters birthday celebration. My sons bill came to £107 and my bill came to just over £180 I would expect better service for that kind of money. It felt like we we're in a cheap cafe. Please treat this as a formal complaint. A very dissatisfied customer, family and friends
