We went as two adults on a weekend and found enough to keep us entertained for 3-3.5 hours. Some animals were hiding out from the cold and others moved from current enclosures, and some of the cafes were temporarily closed. It seemed very child-friendly for those with kids. Definitely check out the butterflies, penguins, and various monkeys as they are very entertaining. Also worth seeing what time the feedings or short talks are as they can be quite informative. I’m not sure it’s worth the full ticket price, but surely if you get a deal it’s a nice afternoon out.

An excellent zoo. Great variety of animals. Well maintained facilities. Lots of cafes scattered about. A playground. Activities geared toward kids. Friendly and helpful staff. No complaints, really. We bought a year-long family pass, which pays for itself after just a few visits. It’s nice to come to the zoo every other month or so for a few hours. The gift shop is also good, with a great range of toys and other gear, much of it quite reasonably priced. I highly recommend the zoo.

Great place. Very kid friendly, but anyone of any age can enjoy this zoo. They have a wide range of exhibits from large animals to smaller creatures and beetles. Also has small cafes and a large restaurant area and plenty of facilities such as toilets etc

Surprisingly average zoo considering the size and scale of the city around it. Some oddly designed enclosures boasting to be innovative and architectural amazing. As always, some of the animals are amazing. The lions were really cool, and the butterfly house was great. I've been to better zoos in England and for cheaper.

Absolutely amazing zoo and staff are absolutely amazing, there are so many animals it takes a while to get around the zoo I would give 2 to 3 hours to get around it all and the animals are literally so close to you, it's so clean and the animals look like they are treated well and are clean and seem happy , the toilets are clean and also places to eat too and some parks for the little ones , the suspension bridge is impressive going towards the monkey exhibit place and there are sloths that climb above you , it's a magical place , and the gift shop has a great selection of gifts , also there is a bus stop outside of the zoo that is handy to get you to places.

Situated in central London next to Regents Park it offers a whole day activity. Best to get here is using public transport. It's a good place to visit with children or your friends. The staff is nice and helpful. Check before you visit unfortunately sometimes not all animals advertised on there site can be found. They have interactive programs which are educative and fun. Best to visit in warm times.

What a beautiful day to spend in this fabulous zoo. Every space is well thought and puts you in a special ambiance. There are so many species to discover and enjoy to see very closely, what a great idea. We can see that the zoo is well taken care of and that the animals are not suffering from very small spaces unlike other zoos. It’s also important to rase that the Zoo is engage in conservation which makes it even more special. True that the entry ticket price is high however it’s really well deserve. One day is needed to visit the park.

What a visit! We have been here multiple times, for multiple occasions. It’s slightly quiet during the week but that doesn’t stop it being a beautiful place to visit. I’ve been here young and older and it still has the same feeling! From the lions and tigers to the penguins in the water. To the butterfly room and bird room full of character and happiness

Genuinely a lovely day out with the little ones. Lots to see. Lots of space to move around. There are lots of talks about the animals by friendly staff who are happy to talk further about the animals after. Toilet facilities were clean. Parking is available off site and street parking is available. Parking charges are on the high end.

Had a lovely day meeting up with the grandchildren after the New Year. Obviously the weather is not on your side at that time of the year but there are plenty of indoor spaces to view the animals to get out of the rain. A trip to the zoo is always a pleasure and I would highly recommend it for a day out, especially on a nice day. I would have given it five stars but the restaurant food was greatly disappointing, the fish and chips were luke warm and the batter soggy, the peas and corn were stone cold and the meals were not cheap, in the future we will avoid the catering here.

Yes. Excellent pigs. Very well groomed, lovely styling. Although one pig did have that whole hipster beard things going on.... Not great. But overall very beardy, as expected. I will be back.

A lovely experience for all. Plenty to see and enjoy in terms of animals and children’s park. The animals are well fed, cared for and their enclosures are clean. Ticket prices are reasonable, especially with under three year olds admitted for free. There are plenty of toilets, nappy changing areas, a restaurant and gift shop. There is plenty of paid parking outside on the main road, so it’s not too far to walk. The best features are the gorillas and lions - magnificent to observe in real life. The sea life area and tanks are clean and all round tidy.

A bit on the expensive side but has a lot of rare animals and is a very unique experience. The animals are kept in conditions that are very close to their natural habitat. Very clean and well maintained. Thy staff are very friendly too. Very good for families. Make sure to visit the penguin pool.

Great zoo, well planned out and loads animals to see. I really liked that most of the animals had free-range pavilions like the monkeys and birds, because I've seen in other zoos cages can be small. Butterfly paradise was absolutely amazing!! All the staff were extremely helpful and shared some facts about the animals. I had the 10am ticket and went straight to the across the road and I was there by myself first to see zebras, first to see giraffes!! Toilets well maintained. Free maps at the entrance. Took me to walk around the whole zoo about 3 hours.

I was in London Zoo yesterday and I just want to warn people that you won't be able to see more than 50% of animals. There's three routes (blue, pink and orange) one way walk, paths are designated in a horrible way. It is much better to wait until everything opens properly.

We had a lovely family day at the London Zoo. The measures they’ve taken for COVID are working well. While it was busy, it never felt crowded. You can have to pre-book one for three slots, 10 am, 12 pm and 2 pm. This doesn't restrict your time in the zoo. We booked 10 am. They have three routes you can follow, and you have to wear a mask for the indoor exhibits. There is plenty of hand sanitiser foam around the park.

London Zoo is the world's oldest scientific zoo. It was opened in London on 27 April 1828, and was originally intended to be used as a collection for scientific study. In 1831 or 1832, the animals of the Tower of London menagerie were transferred to the zoo's collection. It was opened to the public in 1847. Today, it houses a collection of 673 species of animals, with 19,289 individuals, making it one of the largest collections in the United Kingdom. The zoo is sometimes called Regent's Zoo. As well as being the first scientific zoo, ZSL London Zoo also opened the first reptile house (1849), first public aquarium (1853), first insect house (1881) and the first children's zoo (1938).

What an amazing day! The zoo keepers and volunteers are so friendly and knowledgeable. The care given to these beautiful animals is impeccable. I know a lot of people do not agree with animals in cages, however the work done and love for these animals is second to none. I will continue to support London Zoo. What they do is important. I can't wait to come back again. Thank you ZSL! 😊

I went with my family a Friday morning, we spent almost all day there until they closed. It was really nice to walk around without so many people. We could see all the animals. We enjoy the farm animals. We could see the tigers and the lion. Amazing animals. All the spaces were clean . The restaurant maybe a little bit expensive so maybe is better is you take your own food as they have plenty tables around to eat.

Had an absolutely fantastic day out, was really quiet due to lack of tourists because of covid-19. I spent 3 hours plus walking around looking at all the animal's, 100% worth the money plus it goes back into the zoo. I didn't realise how big the zoo actually is, its very deceiving looking at it from the park.

While many of the exhibits are closed due to remodeling and repairs, my family was not disappointed in the activities we were able to do. The Mane Cafe is still open and serving what I thought was a good lunch, and refilled our tanks. No indoor seating is available, but there is plenty of outdoor seating. Watching the kids interact with the California Sea Lions, Orangutans, and hearing the lion bellow was certainly the highlight of the trip. I would recommend the Zoo still. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, bring water to drink, and plan on taking your time. There are only a certain amount of entry passes given each day, so make sure you plan ahead accordingly. There are plenty of hand sanitizing stations throughout the park.

First time been here! Lots of different animals, nice concept and all. It wasn't that crowded, even if it was Saturday. Friendly staffs. You can meet some animals just next to you without fence. Plus, I was impressed that souvenirs from the gift shop wasn't that pricey. I got my little turtle from 3 pounds.

Always great to visit especially on a sunny Fall day during the pandemic. Buy tickets in advance booked for entry every 30 minutes, stay as long as you like, it keeps crowd way down which is great, only downside is restrictions to indoor exhibits, but still plenty to see. The outback Safari is cool, walking inside the actual exhibit where wallabies and kangaroos can walk right up to you.

Lovely place to visit but prices are too high ESPECIALLY for entry and even once inside the most basic things are over priced. Yes I understand it goes towards maintenance etc but the tax payer forks out the majority so why make it so expensive makes no sense tbh.

Best zoo in England for conservation worldwide. Can spend a whole day here. Food is pricey so take your own with you. butterfly house and walk with spiders are great invertebrate features. Large mammals are always welcome. Plenty of staff about . Well stocked souvenir shop as always a bit overpriced. Really highly recommend the zoo. A great location in the middle of parkland. Transport and carparking is easily found. Toilets are clean for the volume of visitors.

Very well spread out, with easy to follow routes, all colour coded Orange, Green or Blue. These take you to the different animals etc. I was very impressed with the whole India theme, including a the surrounding village with bicycles/sacred cow. The butterfly enclose is inside a netted bouncy castle (why?), very, very warm inside. Mask wearing was stated on the website as being the case, but the majority weren't wearing them. You had to have them to get in the enclosures, reptiles, Komodo Dragons. At least they're finally useful, for keeping the creature's habitat smells away. All the catering is expensive, but a soft scoop icecream wafer (and flake) is a quench stopper.

Lovely family day out, lots of interesting facts for kids (and adults) to read. Would advise getting the zoo map so nothing is missed out. The open spider tunnel I wasn't brave enough to go in! 😀 Little picnic stops and benches throughout the zoo, huts to buy drinks/sandwiches/cakes/hot snacks. Small Play park for the little ones. Toilet facilities along routes. Good priced gift shop at the end.

Amazing experience, when you enter you're instantly inside a fantastic mood. You have a lot of different animals and it's ideal for kids with families, friends or couples just hanging out for something interesting. And as a photographer and reviewer I really appreciate the effort and amount of work they put into! Here some shots from the day, unlucky I came really late almost closure, but will return for sure.

Enjoyed our day out at London Zoo. Be ready for a lot of walking - it's pretty spread out - but really accessible for pushchairs. Good range of animals to see, although few too many birds for my liking. Really liked the more interactive areas, like the leaf cutter ant display, walk through spider and butterfly zones, and others. Rather expensive for a family of 5, but overall worth it for a day out.

This place is so good for all ages. Very well organised from parking to facilities inside. I have muscle problems and cannot walk for too long so my husband hired this scooter for me. I was so impressed with the Quilty of the scooter. Easy to drive up and down the ramps and the plus it never toppled even in the muddy, uneven grounds. Very impressed. Lots of children's area to sit and eat as well as see them enjoy freely. Very safe where the animals are for the little kids. Very helpful staff as well. A must place to visit for all the family. We really had a good time. Well worth it. You can also hire child buggy if you forget to bring your own.

The zoo was great, there was a few new enclosures being built. It seemed maybe the enclosures where cramped for some animals however it was a good time. It took 3 of us 2 hours in all to see everything not including stopping. It had areas themed and decorated accordingly. I'd recommend this zoo for sure.

Tickets are supposed to be booked in advance only, but we did see people buying tickets when they arrived today. We visited on a sunny Wednesday in the school holidays and expected it to be busier than it was. Zoo is very clean and quite well laid out. The enclosures are of a reasonable size and they have made an excellent effort to make the bars and fences as minimal as possible. Everything seemed in good repair. Plenty of options for lunch or snacks but they are pretty expensive. Ice cream from kiosk opposite the zoo shop/exit is very good. Lots of toilets around the zoo too and they were all spotlessly clean. Only gripe I have really was a lot of the hand sanitizer dispensers around the zoo were empty…

Visiting London Zoo was a roaring success! While finding parking on a weekend proved a bit tricky (it's clearly a popular spot!), the helpful staff quickly pointed us in the right direction. Once inside, the excitement bubbled over, especially for the little ones. We loved exploring the diverse habitats, from playful penguins to majestic lions. Every turn offered a new animal encounter, sparking endless curiosity and wonder. The food hall deserves a special mention. It wasn't just the usual greasy zoo fare. They offered a surprising variety of delicious meals to keep everyone happy. London Zoo is a haven for little explorers. There were interactive exhibits, educational talks, and even animal feeding sessions that had the kids squealing with delight. The zoo cleverly combines entertainment with learning, making it a genuinely enriching experience for the whole family. One top tip: Planning ahead pays off! We scored discounted tickets online. Overall, our trip to London Zoo was a roaring success. We left with tired legs, happy hearts, and a renewed appreciation for the animal kingdom. Highly recommended for a fun and educational day out with the whole crew!

The animals were mesmerising to see. Absolutely stunning, the price is reasonable but the whole concept of enclosing wild animals is very strange. It just doesn't feel right seeing them in this setting. It's had a wide range of animals but your still able to get through it quite quick. If your a big animal fan, have the money and are is unable to maybe view them in a safari setting then I guess I recommend.

Great fun! I guess only downside is parents not keeping an eye on their kids around the animals, which can in turn ruin it for the animals (and everyone else). This isn’t the zoos fault however, and we loved our day out to the zoo. Staff were super friendly and helpful

I’m mot a big fan of Zoo’s for obvious reasons and so far, all the Zoo’s I’ve been to, animals didn’t look too healthy or free. My girlfriend loves animal as I do and maybe this was a chance to get to see them closely, she had never visited one before and being honest, I had s really good time, she loved it, the place was so clean, everything was in it’s place, animals looked healthy, you could actually see they care about animals, we came from far and I was nor disappointed, my mind hasn’t changed about Zoo’s at all but I could recommend this one if you want to at least get to see this animals closer or so, staff is really friendly and polite, it’s a nice place to visit!

Wow! Went on a somewhat cool and breezy day Saturday August 22nd. Most of the animals were moving more than I've ever seen them! And I've been here many times throughout the years. It was the perfect day to go to the zoo! There were people here but not too crowded... Enough space to stay 6 feet apart in most cases. Everyone wearing masks for the most part! Excellent experience :-)

This place has history of how electronic music evolved from the 1900 till now.. instruments that were used and how they evolved over time has been beautifully shown.. you need to bring your own headset to listen to the audio while the video is playing..the last section is the best.. be careful last section the strobe light are really crazy.. 😜 be sure to enjoy your experience..

The zoo experience was amazing! They opened up the zoo in a safe way and it was great to be out in the open and learn more about the various animals at the zoo. The delightful factor was the theme based sections in the zoo such as the Lion section based on the zoo in Gujarat. The food service was available at couple of places and was also very streamlined.

According to Wikipedia London Zoo is the world's oldest scientific zoo. It was opened in London on 27 April 1828, and was originally intended to be used as a collection for scientific study. In 1831 or 1832, the animals of the Tower of London menagerie were transferred to the zoo's collection. It was opened to the public in 1847. It was my second visit but this time was in cold afternoons. There are several activities to see for all ages. The area of zoo is too large, and you need a whole day trip. Zoo offers not only wildlife but its also have beautiful natural scenery. Always check weather forecast before buying the tickets.

I have always been weary of Zoo’s because of the historic controversy surrounding them. However, visiting London Zoo you can actually see that an effort is being made with the animals. The majority of animals are given plenty of space to roam and you can really see that the staff do care about the animals. The Zoo does have a wide range of animals in its care that you can see. I visited the zoo with my son and he really enjoyedthe whole experience.

Beautiful walkways but, if you're looking for animals, there were like 7 on display. We saw wild squirrels and wild deer in the parking lot. That was the most animals we saw all day. Lots of pathways closed. Lots of animal exhibits closed. The zoo is free but, they charge $30 to park.

Overall a great zoo that is free and open to the public. A decent amount of exhibits and animals aren't available during covid times and the layout of how they want to direct traffic is frustrating at times. A great place to visit and see some cool things for sure. Hopefully they fill exhibits and fix the routing issues.

Beautiful zoo here in DC. it's totally free all you have to do is go online and pay for parking. Lots of shade and many different animals to check out. Just make sure you bring your walking shoes and heres a small suggestion. Freeze some bottles of water to take with you inside the park. The bottles of water can get a tad bit expensive. But we had a good time here. The kids loved it. Its a must see when looking for a family activity to kill a few hours

What can I say. It is difficult to compare different zoos. For a very long time I was going to visit the London Zoo, and now the time has come. So I bought the tickets back in mid-April, at the beginning of June. With great hope that the weather will be good. June was not chosen by chance, the child has a vacation at school. The first thing I ran into, I don't even know how to say, whether it was greedy or something else, and for some reason the price of entry is higher on weekends and on holidays than on ordinary days. What are the differences between a weekend (Holliday ) day from a usual one, are animals more joyful? They were just like sitting in their cages for £ 2 or £ 20, why this profiteering??(-1). June came, and it was raining that day, all day. Since the zoo does not have an exchange or refund function for a ticket, I had to go. (In principle, there is 2 months before the date of visit (-2) Large beautiful aviaries with lions were simply empty, lemurs gathered in one large lump, the tiger fell apart and slept. (see photo). Pleased with the penguins. A very interesting place called "Nightlife" is a room with 10 rooms. And each is inhabited by “tenants” who are fun to watch in an “artificial night”! The terrarium is not bad either, from various lizards, poisonous frogs, to turtles and snakes! On the territory there is a shop with memorable gifts, various bars and mini restaurants(you will definitely not stay hungry). Parking within 3-6 minutes walk from the entrance, (cost £ 14.50 for the whole day) or along the road closer to the entrance for £ 0.75 for 15 minutes) £ 12 for 4 hours maximum.

London zoo is a nice zoo to spend the day at. As an inner city zoo it didn't have space of others and had less of the bigger animals. They keep these at Whipsnade their sister zoo. What they lack in space they make up for in quality enclosures and unusual exhibits. A must visit destination.

Good to finally visit the Famous London Zoo!! Was surprised that the signage was not better as some animals could be overlooked without some good navigation skills. Some exhibits looked very tired and needed upgrades. Would only re visit if more investment was found to use the space better. On a plus note the Penguins, Monkeys and Tiger where all highlights and did not disappoint 👍

London zoo is just the best, have visited a few zoos but they just don't compare to this one. There is so much to see and do and so many beautiful animals. I love the fact you can get up and personal in some parts of the park such as the petting farm, butterfly house and free range spider enclosures which are great and unique to this zoo. we also loved watching the leaf cutter ants waking along the free range ropes going about their business just fascinating to watch. The penguins are just great and in the large enclosure pool You can even watch them from under the water and managed to get some fantastic pictures of them. Honestly I could Go on and on, I love the fact that unlike Other zoos you only have to walk short distances between different enclosures and our day was completely filled with wonder and Interest. The only thing that we found is that if you are not great at followings maps then you could possibly miss some of the animals and We realised we had missed a section that seemed to be separate from the main part of the zoo when we were leaving. we thought we had seen everything but hadn't which was a shame But a great excuse to re visit which I will absolutely do. Perhaps a coloured trail around the park would help to identify a route that will ensure every enclosure is covered by the time You get it the end would be great idea and although there were markings on the floor we were still unsure of the routes to go and doubled back a few times to enclosure we had already seen (prob just our sense of back direction lol) Overall this zoo is fantastic no other word for it and highly recommended 👍

I’m really saddened to say I found this zoo underwhelming. Whilst I understand little renovations were going on, and we got there when they opened so most of the animals were asleep. Not enough signs to point you to certain places, and the only way you got a map was from the guide book. Everyone barges past you when you’re trying to see the animals, so be prepared to be shunted from pillar to post. Hired a wheelchair for my fiancé as he has mobility issues but this place is NOT wheelchair friendly at all in my opinion. The hills are far too steep for wheelchairs, plus not a lot of the doors were automatic. Overpriced to go in, yet found the gift shop at the exit and the terrace restaurant not too badly priced. I’ve given it three stars purely for the fact that when emailing ZSL they were quick to reply, and the staff at the zoo were really friendly too. It’s not an ideal place to go if you suffer from anxiety as I discovered. Won’t be returning. Keep up the good work though ZSL ❤️

I love London Zoo. It's a wonderful zoo and family friendly. It has a lot of space and the animals are happy. Its absolutely fab to have a day out with the family and they give great family discounts. I would highly recommend you buy an annual pass and you save loads of money and can go all year round. There is a nice restaurant in the facilities and has a good menu. The staff are very nice and helpful. The only thing I would say is if your going to the restaurant with your family it will be extremely expensive. I would recommend you bring your own food that way it wont be an expensive day out! There is so much to see and do and you will have a lovely day out.👍😀 100% Guarantee..😀👍

Excellent place to visit with friends, family, kids, or even alone. There's a lot to see and to do so it's worthwhile to count on spending here at least 3-4 hours. The whole area of the zoo is well-kept, mostly accessible and easily walkable. There's a good availability of food, drink, restrooms, benches and other means for relaxation. The place can be easily visited and accessed both by car and public transportation. The staff was very friendly, engaging and shared a lot of useful and interesting information with us. It's definitely good value for money and a must see if you have the chance for visiting.

Booked a night in the lodges. Parking included so strolled in and left out case at the gate. Made our own way around the zoo for a few hours before checking in at the lodge where our case was waiting for us. Much needed tea and freshen up before a glass of bubbles and off for a 3.5 hour tour with a break for dinner included. I will say that the ambience and meal were way in excess of expectation. The guides were great and our host, Josh, did a fabulous job. Wandering the zoo, animals were called or encouraged to come where they could be seen and fed. We saw an animal kitchen and animals that only really came to life in the evening or at night. The lodge was comfortable and clean. Breakfast left is full all day and another morning tour before the zoo opened finished off the experience but left us to explore more. We learned so much in such a short time. Excellent.

I recently visited ZSL London Zoo and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious, clean and well-organized it was compared to other zoos I've been to in the past. I had always avoided going to this zoo, thinking it would be small and cramped, but I was so wrong. During my visit, I was able to see all the animals on display and they all seemed happy and playful. It was obvious that the staff takes great care of the animals and goes to great lengths to ensure they are comfortable in their environments. What I especially loved about the Zoo is how kid-friendly it is. There were plenty of interactive exhibits and activities for children of all ages, including a petting zoo and a penguin beach. I'm impressed by how well-maintained and organized it was. The grounds were immaculately clean, and everything was well-kept and in good shape. Compared to other zoos I've visited in the past, What I appreciated most about the cleanliness and organization of the Zoo is that it made for a more enjoyable and comfortable visit. I never felt crowded or overwhelmed, and I was able to navigate the zoo easily thanks to its well-organized layout. Overall, I had a wonderful time at the Zoo and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and educational day out with family and friends. It's a fantastic place to visit, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

London Zoo is a zoological garden in Regent's Park, London. It is one of the oldest zoos in the world, and is home to over 750 different species of animals. The zoo was founded in 1828 by the Zoological Society of London, and was originally located in the grounds of the Crystal Palace. In 1847, the zoo moved to Regent's Park, where it has been ever since. London Zoo is a popular tourist destination, and is visited by over 2 million people each year. The zoo is home to a wide variety of animals, including lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, monkeys, and many more. The zoo also has a number of educational exhibits, which teach visitors about the animals and their habitats.

On the whole a really good zoo. Very clean, animals really well taken care of and well layed out and accessible. Only downsides during our trip where that there seemed to be a fair few number of enclosures empty and costs for the few drinks and bits of food we had where quite expensive. I would definitely go again.

It was an overall good experience But for the price, I expected more. The food on sale was overly priced, causing us to leave early to find alternatives. There needs to be better signs to direct people of where to go and more allocated at different parts of the park to assist visitors. The children did love seeing the animals.

First time visiting here with my family. Was definitely something I have been meaning to tick off my bucket list and it was worth the wait... Was so wonderful seeing so many different animals and learn more about them and listen to some of the daily talks for more details about the . My children really enjoyed the parting farm where they were able to touch and stroke the baby sheep/goats and walk close to them. They also enjoyed the penguin beach where they done a small show for us. It was a very nice day and such a cool experience to be so close to the animals. Our last visit of the day was going to monkey valley were we were able to see the monkey at a very close distance. There is a nice gift shop near the exist as well as toilets and food/snack and drink stalls. You can also get ice cream/ice lollies on site. Make sure you visit and make the most of each and every moment. There are lots of nice phot opportunities.

It was nice seeing the animals but some seemed so sad. There was a rat with the exotic birds enclosure btw and it kept scaring the birds. Lions were walking in a figure of 8 the whole time. Gorillas seemed sad questioning their life. The ants were really cool! Tigers were cute were all asleep. Butterflies were really good. Penguins were cool. Missed the kangaroo part just didn’t happen to walk there. The okapi is a really cool animal. I loved the camels, this one was so lovely walked up to me and I was chatting to it. There’s a lovely goat petting area spent a lot of time there. Was a good day out didn’t have time to see all the animals. Someone jumped the queue which annoyed me getting in, as we were waiting before the security checks and she just walked straight through.

Very nice Zoo park with a lot of animals.. You can see them quite closer and the area is very big and there are nice places where you have to rest if you're tired to walk around inside this park.. There are 3 different zones to visit and they give you a free map, after that you took the ticket, to search the animals that you would like to see!!! Very recomended if you like to visit a peaceful place even inside a lovely big city as London ^___^

We spent 14/02 at London Zoo and had the most amazing day. Considering it was half term it was relatively quiet and we had easy access to all the attractions. I haven’t been to the zoo since I was a child myself so taking my own children (14&8) was so wonderful as the zoo has developed so much: lots of walk-through enclosures and all the animals were so easy to see/gain access to. The vet experience was a lovely free extra which my daughter loved. Gift shop and food and drinks were all very reasonable. We had an amazing day and would definitely return again. It was a real treat!

London Zoo is the world's oldest scientific zoo situated at the northern edge of Regent's Park. It’s a good zoo with decent variety of animals. It’s famous for enclosures of animals resemble to their natural habitats. London Zoo is one of the most popular attractions in London city.

Best place to go out for the day, great serves

  • 5/5 Entika M. 3 years ago on Google
Generally an amazing time. A few things were closed, but thats not the reason for the 4 stars. The seating around and the information needs to be updated. Trees and shrubs need cutting back so you can actually see the animals. I understand habitats are important but perhaps change the glass to 1 way view to make the animals more comfortable. People seem moody but the animals are happy. The pigmy hippos were amazing. African dogs were running about and the food was worth the cost. Clean and organised!

Parking zoo way too expensive compare to this hard times, inside few of the attractions can't get inside with my child beacuse being asked to wear a face cover me being exempt from wearing it( entrance lady told us even if you're exempt you need to wearing it unfortunately) my child want to see birds and all that stuff and most of them couldn't go in.100£ for 2 hours is not worth it in my opinion,

The lights are incredible. The atmosphere is magical. Very good distancing. The hot chocolate and other food hit the spot. Best of all the kids loved all the lighted trees and characters. Excellent evening! Great job Detroit ZOO. Even the beavers were out.p

The family and I went to the zoo to see the wild lights display. We had a good time looking at the lights and stoping at the hot cocoa and snack shack. It was not overly crowded and plenty of room practice good social distancing. Between parking and getting in we spent about 2 hours there. We will definitely return next year.

  • 5/5 Taylor S. 3 years ago on Google
This is a beautiful and spacious park. Perfect outing in the era of covid. It is super easy to keep distance even while at the different exhibits.

  • 5/5 Cheryl M. 3 years ago on Google
It was good for the most part, considering it is winter and we are fighting a pandemic. If you need to get out, this would be a good place. Not many animals but the ones we saw made us happy. Masks are required, and one place with food that is takeout only.

  • 2/5 crafty w. 3 years ago on Google
we were disappointed.. there are barely any animals to enjoy. There are no vendors open. Even so, there could have been some help with making the atmosphere more festive than a city park.. like can't u play some zoo music inside the park or something? The peacocks are beautiful and roam freely! It just feels like a sad, under funded, city park. What can I do to help?

  • 5/5 David D. 3 years ago on Google
Pick a day that you are feeling adventurous, bundle up, and head to the zoo! The animals are so much more lively in this weather and bonus there are much fewer people to share the good viewing spots with. You must reserve your time spot and entry tickets online before your visit. Time slots are staggered so there are fewer people passing through making social distancing easier. The refreshment stands are closed however I believe the Buddy's Pizza Restaurant was open for business. Dress warm and have fun!

The Zoo lights this year was better than ever. My family has been going to this event for several years and it only gets bigger and better each time. Granted the inside attractions we closed due the the pandemic, but there was plenty to see and enjoy outside. If you didnt go this year, plan to go next year. If everything is open then this event will be even better.

I went to the zoo on January 2, 2021 with one my children. A lot of exhibits were closed. Penguin, amphibian, reptile, butterfly building, and one area was under construction. Really affordable. Easy to find. You can also get a direct comrade bus from ring road to the zoo. A lot of grounds, not very well taken care of though. The animals are okay, apparently they were more in the past. There is some sort of open hall for meetings and such that comes with its own chairs. There is a playground for kids. Really hope they do more development in the zoo, it's a really great place with a lot of space for more attractions.

I visited the zoo with my niece two days after the new year. The place was packed full with lots of games and side attractions for children. We had fun on the unicorn ride and the merry-go-round train. My only concern was that it was largely non-COVID19 compliant as guests were not made to wear facemask or sanitize their hands before entry. It was devoid of its usual peace and quiet before the festivities. I will visit again.

Great that the zoo is open in tier 4 and it was easy to social distance, a lot of effort had been made to keep it safe and welcoming. The only thing is that this meant a lot of the areas were closed, by the time we left we hadn't been able to see so much, we begrudged paying full price, especially as 241 offers etc were not being accepted.

Came during on a Friday. The place was pretty safe and they take alot of precautions. Child and family friendly and there's a fun carrousel with candy floss, so it's a great day out. Afterwards it's relatively not crowded and they put alot of reminders to keep masks on indoors and social distance. The highlight was tigers and monkeys, which are not scared of getting closed to people. All the animals were very active and not asleep so got to see alot of activity. A good place to take a walk for Christmas and have a nice date during covid times since alot of places are close.

  • 1/5 Fabia D. 3 years ago on Google
Only got to see 5 of the animals in the whole day and still charged the full ticket price. “Supporting businesses in these difficult times” it’s hard when you don’t get any of the experience, large number of empty enclosures and can’t get refunded if the area goes into lockdown.

Best zoo I've ever visited. Animals have plenty of space and caretakers seem to genuinely enjoy their work. Some animals might be hard to spot and locate, but if you are patient you will find them. Territory of the zoo is quite big, so plan your trip around, otherwise you will be in for quite a walk. There are a couple of gift/souvenir shops, with the main one having the biggest selection. Food court with a great variety of savouries and sweets is also located within the zoo. There are a few programs/shows that happen throughout the day, so watch out for those and keep track of the time. All staff were very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions.

This zoo is so big that you can hardly imagine it, and of course, it cannot be compared with the wild zoo. As the entrance ticket to the zoo in the US capital is free, but parking outside requires a certain fee, but it is much cheaper than the entrance ticket to the North Carolina Zoo because the admission ticket to the North Carolina Zoo is charged by headcounts, while the Smithsonian National Zoological Park is only parking fees, so I highly recommend carpool to save unnecessary expenses. The layout inside is so organized that you don't have to rely on imagination to walk through a maze. It is more convenient to have a guide map.

  • 5/5 Trishda W. 3 years ago on Google
It’s free, but if you want to park in the actual zoo area it’s a bit pricey. But for a whole day of fun, and the price of what it would cost at a regular zoo the price isn’t bad. It was a beautiful place and the kids had a great time and experience!

  • 5/5 Amber M. 3 years ago on Google
Always a fun trip! We rarely pay for parking, since you can usually find parking on a side street if you’re willing to walk. However if you’re going on a crowded day, don’t want to walk extra, and need to save time, the $30 for parking is worth it. It’s easy, gets you pretty close to the park, and you know you’re money is going to a good cause. If you get lucky, you’ll catch a day where the orangutans are out on the o-line! I’ve only seen this once in the last 4 or 5 trips I’ve made to the zoo but glad I finally got to see it!

National zoo visit during heavy rain. While many of the exhibits were closed due to COVID or the season, we were dressed appropriately using rain gear and rain boots. Coffee, ice cream, funnel cake, and other vendors were open. Suggest getting coffee or hot chocolate. Pandas/Asia trail were closed. Bears, elephants, sea lions, cows, donkeys, antelope, deer, leopard's, bison, apes, gators/crocs were all visible. Think tank exhibit was supposed to be open, however no one was available to open the door and the door was locked. We tried at 11am and 1pm and neither time was the building manned. Would not recommend coming during the heavy rain. Read the map that is available today and in the photos below that shows all the closed exhibits and weigh if you want to visit. It took us with a group of 10 about 3 hours to run through all the open exhibits with very few breaks.

Nice zoo with good informational displays, exhibits, and animals. Generally friendly staff. Being in DC, the food sold on the premesis generally costs you part of your liver or your left kidney. That said, if you're a smoker there's no smoking area anywhere near the zoo, and they'll ticket you even if you go all the way out in the back of the parking lot and smoke.

We had a great time visiting with two five year-olds. Timed entry tickets (free, but need to get online ahead of time) and face masks required for those six and older. Most kids three and older, including ours, wore masks. Some exhibits were closed (pandas, reptile house, small mammal house, etc.), but with so few people there we actually saw more and at closer distances than in years past. Our favorites were the gorillas, elephants, and seals. Due to social distancing requirements there were lines to get into see the gorillas and elephants, but the lines move quickly and the zoo workers make the wait as fun as possible. Snack foods, beverages, and souvenirs available for sale.

Post lockdown there is very little to see in the Zoo. Most interior locations like the reptile house, aquarium and butterfly enclosure are closed... as are most of the events. That being said, it is very easy to spend all day here and enjoying every moment in this small corner of London. When lockdown truly lifts and they open up everything, it will more than meet your expectations.

We are members so this review is based on quite a few visits... Pros: *Animals have lots of space, they seem happy and you can have some magical close encounters (as long as you go off peak) *Lots of lovely open space for picnicking plus a heated area under cover *Indoor attractions (normal times) are great for bad weather * Remote ordering in main restaurant works very well Cons: *Really hard to navigate, most of the paths aren't marked and you can end up walking a LONG way! *The demo sessions are only on the board at the entrance so unless you take a picture you have no idea what's happening when. *To get from the tiger area to the playground you HAVE to cross on a step bridge, if you have a buggy you are scuppered! *The railway, buses and top restaurant have never been open on the many times we've visited (including before covid) 🤔

  • 4/5 Matthew 3 years ago on Google
This zoo is absolutely enormous (largest in the UK) so expect a fair bit of walking - we did about 7k and covered most of the park. During Covid expect queues for some of the animals. Lots of young kids on scooters - not sure if they provide them or just everybody was bringing their own. Animals get a lot of space in big open fields, but also often means you may not be able to get very close to the animals.

Brilliant. The 7 year old niece absolutely loves the place. Very educational and leads of things to do - including a fabulous train ride. Above all though, are the animals. Plenty of them, easy to see and looked well looked after. In truth I'd rather see animals in the wild (only) but Whipsnade appears to have found a (humane) balance. All he animals looked in good nick and well cared for.

I took my son here for the day, we arrived at opening time and it took us nearly until closing time to walk all the way around. We saw nearly all of the animals (some were hiding). I thought the zoo were very good at making sure that everyone was staying socially distant in the enclosed areas and making sure people wore their masks. There was lots of hand sanitizer stations available around the zoo. It felt very safe. A great day out, i would highly recommend it

  • 5/5 Anthony F. 3 years ago on Google
Love coming to this zoo. Big, wide open spaces. Great for a day out and walk in the fresh air whatever the weather. If you enjoy photography this place is superb with the large animal enclosures and surrounding countryside. Free parking as well which in today’s age of charging for everything is very welcome. Would be good to see incentives for EV cars being allowed in to the zoo without paying extra or at the least at a discounted rate.

We had a very wet day here but still managed to have a good look around. There were not many places to find shelter from the weather and queues were very long to get into cafes and butterfly house due to Covid19 restrictions. We had boots and trainers on but really could have done with our wellies! We made the best of the unpredictable British weather but it would have been a nicer experience and more enjoyable on a dry day. This is a full day out if you want to try and see it all, the place is huge, you will be walking lots so sensible footwear is a must. It will be nice to go back again with less restrictions, hopefully when the sun is shining and play areas are open 😊

It is a massive zoo.very spread out. However there were not many animals. Since each area for specific animals are so big, it was hard to spot them and they were too far away. We were thinking of buying annual pass but don't think we will be revisiting.

  • 4/5 Zo S. 3 years ago on Google
Whipsnade is a huge place, I don't think its possible to see everything in one day especially if you have children with you. The enclosures are great and there was so many animals to see, it was a good day out! The only bad point is it was rather busy and crowded so it was hard to social distance and there wasn't many sanitiser stations around.

Lovely zoo, grounds are maintained nicely and clean. Animal enclosures also look well maintained. Four stars because the space allocated for animals is not very big, it will be so much better if they could increase the space allocated for animal enclosures, feels sad to see these lovely furry beings kept in small enclosures (especially the big cats and giraffes, elephants).

An excellent day out, the residents look well cared for & have a good amount of space. The current pandemic restrictions caused a few annoyances, but that's not ZSL's fault. A great destination for a family day out or even just for a couple. Worth taking the car in for £12.50 (winter rate from beginning of November) a bit steep at £25.00 for the summer rate, but it is a charitable venture so it's a way of raising funds without making the ticket prices too high for everyone.

  • 5/5 Uma D. 3 years ago on Google
This zoo was amazing! My family I really had a great experience. We went during covid 19, the lines were busy and it actually felt normal apart from the 2 metres apart and wearing face masks. The staff were friendly and people we who visited were ok...apart from one lady I asked if she could take a pic she nodded her head to say no as if I was the human covid plague😂. Other then this we had a wonderful time! Definitely do visit this zoo x

Friendly staff. Polite animals. Solero option for the winter (Ooooo go on then). Funny that eating ice cream in the winter is frowned upon just like when I was in Munich and I was slapped in the face by a dustbin lady who found my Dairy Milk offensive. Not as bad as my pal Michael Budd who eats ice cubes for thanksgiving. I always found ice cubes to be a rather strange concept, though I once attended a conference on the melting ice caps hosted by Jeremy Paxman. Fantastic conference made all the better by the 3 bottle of calvados me and Michael Budd had beforehand. Well done zoo. Free the whale.

They also have "walk through" exhibitions for rainforest, spiders, lemurs, butterflies or monkeys which is lovely and a welcome change to just looking at enclosures. The lions and tigers are magnificent. We absolutely loved the spiders and reptile house! Food isn't great and quite expensive but lots of areas for picnics so not a big deal. Lots of ice cream vendors, we saw a really good face painting place and there was a fab carousel at the main exit. The gift shoppe has something for every budget and lots to choose from. The different coloured routes ensure you see everything and make it much easier to find stuff. Would definitely recommend! Could do with more maps so make sure you take a pic of the entrance map with your phone.

A really nice zoo. As small as I expected from such an old place. The animals look brilliant however and very well looked after. Nice to get so close to the leaf cutter ants, beautiful. The orb weavers however. Nope. Maybe one day and brilliant that the keeper tried to get me involved. Maybe some places to eat, nothing was open on the 3rd. But I don't go to zoos to eat.

Took my 12 year old daughter to the Zoo 18/08/2021 We had a lovely day. Due to covid, everything was in place. Lovely friendly staff, loved thr penguin talk. Got to see some lovely Animals.

It's a nice place to go when you kid starts to ask a lot of questions about the animal and can't stop watching animal videos. Lol :D. It was a nice trip. I went with my 5yrs old kid and it was really fun. Could only watch 1 lion. In the first attempt couldn't find any tiger but tried while going out and could see them. Reptiles, Butterfly paradise and Penguin beach were the best. Amazon rainforest was also good.

Don't book in advance if you don't know what the weather is going to be like. It tipped it down most of the day when we went and there is barely any shelter around the route of the Zoo. Best to book in the week leading up if you are sure it's going to be good weather. If its forecast for rain don't bother.

Had a fantastic time here with my daughter and granddaughter. We have a great big silver cross pram and never had any trouble getting around.spacious. Lots to see and do. Fully packed. We actually walked 10 miles just looking at everything. Cafe.loads of public toilets especially when u have kids with u. Gift shop wasn't badly priced. If u r disabled.you can get a carer in for free. Just remember this is all being booked online before u go.

It was okay, most of the animals were asleep and we didn't see some of the animals on display because they were hidden... Plus, there were so many people here it hindered the experience! Honestly go at a better time when everybody is not on holiday or near the end of the holidays!

Great variety of animals, insects and birds. The zookeepers were all very friendly and happy to invite people along to feedings. It was really cool to go into some of the open animal areas too, although I avoided the 'free range' spider room 😳 Some of the structures could do with a refurb but generally the animals seem well looked after.

Great selection of animals to see and a fantastic day out. The park is well laid out but the signs to tell you routes are a little confusing and the PDF map isn't very clear so you sometimes have to go back on yourself a bit. The restaurant is good and reasonably priced.

The zoo is bigger than I expected. There were animals there that I had not seen in any zoo's before so I was pleasantly surprised. My favourite part was the clock by the bird Avery and it's animations. There's not alot of places to eat but there's plenty of tables and benches to sit. There's so many animals to see. The zoo is beautiful and clean and I highly recommend a visit if you are an animal lover.

We have been members for 4 years. Even though Whipsnade is the better zoo, I love this place. Small but no wasted space, great for a halfday out. Depending on their age, they do some great activities for kids during the holidays.

If you love animals then you should visit this place. Though their are not too many animals but still it's a nice place to be. Their is lot of greenery around the zoo also very well maintained. You can easily reach this place through bus and also through canal. Taking a canal and reaching the zoo is a unique experience. The cost of the for the zoo is around 32 pounds and I felt this is quite expensive.

  • 5/5 Anaísa P. 2 years ago on Google
Really impressed with the zoo, how well taken care of the animals seem to be. Incredible that we have such a big zoo in the middle of London. Really recommend checking it out!

  • 5/5 Robin R. 2 years ago on Google
A great zoo for young children to get to know all the common animals. It is very easy to walk around and see most of the animals in about 2 to 3 hours. Without a doubt we prefer Whipsnade Zoo where the animals are free to roam and there is more variety but the central location within London of London Zoo is very advantageous and does mean that we come here more frequently. You can park just outside on the road for 4 hours for under £12 or used the London Zoo car park for a little more all day.

  • 3/5 Manuela M. 2 years ago on Google
Zoos in the winter are not the best idea. The tigers didn't show and I can't blame them... It was 5 degrees the day we visited. Many of the exhibitions are under construction for improvement which shows great things are coming in near future. The spiders, snakes and butterflies are worth a visit! Such an amazing experience to be surrounded by butterflies! The rainforest bit was also good.

  • 4/5 C J. 2 years ago on Google
Zoo was nicely landscaped and had a few animals i had never seen before. Unfortunately alot of signature animals like lions, giraffes, and elephants were no where in sight. Im sure the winter weather may have played a part in that. Overall a good tourist stop for anyone in London

  • 5/5 Luke 2 years ago on Google
Such a great place! We were there for 4 hours and it still wasn't enough time to see everything. Some enclosures even allow you to walk in with the animals (who look more than happy to have you there!) It is sometimes sad to see magnificent creatures like the lions or the tigers being in relatively small areas. But its important to remember that a lot the animals there are rescued or critically endangered in the wild. If you don't have kids try your best to go on a day when kids are at school!

  • 3/5 Shirley P. 2 years ago on Google
There was a lot of ongoing improvement creating new enclosures as a consequence some animals were not on display. Too many areas were under refurbishment or replacement. So the entrance fee was a bit steep considering the reduced experience. However seeing the tiger family with their new baby was certainly a highlight.

  • 5/5 DJ R. 2 years ago on Google
It's a Really nice zoo, we had a great day. The enclosures are really clean and some of the up close enclosures were amazing. My personal favourite was the open area with the sloths, ant eaters and fruit bats, it was so cool to be that close to them i also loved the parrots they were having loads of fun in their enclosure

Went here a lot as a child so maybe I had rose tinted spectacles bringing my kids here 30 years later… still great fun, plenty of great animals to see etc but it’s list it’s magic for me. Maybe I’m cynical in my old age but is it really in the best interests of the animals? The giraffe house is a beautiful old building but is it really suitable for the giraffes any more? The aviary is being dismantled. Not sure where all the birds went! Best bit for me was the penguin beach!

  • 5/5 Pamela W. 2 years ago on Google
Surprisingly amazing! It was a pricey at first but when we got there we realised it was a large proper zoo! Well worth the money. We arrived at 230 on a Saturday for a 5 pm closing time. How much time do you need to spend at the London zoo ? The 2.5 hours was perfect for Two adults with a wheelchair. With kids I would suggest 3 hours. You can get tickets to either enter at or after 10am or at or after 12. You don’t have to be there right at 10 or 12! It’s really cool that you can also see some of the animals for free just walking along the river or park. Super fun and large variety of animals. Tiger, lion, monkeys, giraffes, Pygmy hippo, zebra, penguins, tortoise, and more

We have the most magical day at London Zoo. The staff were super helpful and friendly, they are so enthusiastic and know so much about the animals they care for. The Zoo is laid out well and the displays are wonderful. We loved all the factual information about the animals and about how the Zoo are helping them. Lots of animals to see and there are interactive parts where you can get up close to the animals too. Highly recommend London Zoo for a wonderful day out.

Had an amazing day lots of things to see and do. Very interactive. Good amount of information on the animals and the history of the Zoo itself. It was bigger than expected. Lots of walk in inclosures so you get to be up close. Lots of keeper talks (penguin feeding etc) Take your own food if your on a budget as food was expensive.

Given this is 'World Renowned - London Zoo' I was expecting a lot more from my visit. Nothing I haven't already seen from Dudley, Twycross, Paignton zoos...West Midlands Safari Park is 1000% better...

I went for a birthday treat and had no pre-existing expectations of the zoo. I arrived by taxi as I was not sure of the location and how far from the train station the zoo was. Also had to pre-book our tickets due to COVID guidelines and on arrival had to queue up. After bypassing the security checks, I was disappointed that I couldn't have a physical map but understood why it wasn't possible. The visit involved alot of walking as I would have expected, thus would need to make several visits to be able to get the best out of the zoo. As there were plenty to see and one visit wouldn't be enough for me as it was quite busy. I really enjoyed my visit and able to get close up to the animals was amazing. There were lots of animals to see even though there were some parts animals were not there for exhibition. I had a meal within the zoo, prices were reasonable for a zoo in a big city but there is a opportunity to purchase snacks too or a sandwich. Also I visited the gift shop which was fairly ok but could have been better.

Decent zoo to fill an afternoon. Easy to get to using the 88 bus route. It has a play park within and the wider Regent Park has another so plenty for the kids to do when they've had enough or the animals

  • 3/5 Norimaki G. 1 year ago on Google
Well, it is a zoo alright. Lots of animals to see, and very little room for them to live in. I appreciate how much they try to convince us species should be better protected, and I know some animals are better off here than in wilds that do not exist anymore, but how can one read that wild lycaons would need half of London's surface as a territory and not feel a sad sympathy when seeing these wild dogs in the small strip of land they can now call their only home? Otherwise the place is pleasant, and a great care went into the scenery. The food is, as one would expect, bland and expensive. Bring your own.

Enjoyed a lovely sunny day out at the zoo. It was busy but not too crowded. Enjoyed walking around and seeing the animals and got some great photos. Food in the terrace restaurant was OK, but not great. Coffee from the outlets around the zoo was good though. Staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The talk about the komodo dragons was fascinating and extremely well delivered by the presenter with great passion and energy. On the whole a great family day out.

I went for the twighlight event which was so lovely, usually I come to the zoo with my daughter but it was great to experience the zoo as an adult as the facts about the animals were a little more age appropriate. There were many pop up areas and the decor was lovely to see. There were areas to sit and relax and enjoy your food and drinks too. Only thing I was gutted about was not seeing the tigers and gorillas but it is what it is. I managed to see everything else and learn some new facts too.

  • 5/5 David B. 1 year ago on Google
A nice zoo. They've carefully chosen animals to fit the space available which means they all have ample space and territory to roam, despite being in the middle of London. There's plenty of coffee shops and bathrooms to get even the most tired adults around. I can thoroughly recommend the butterfly and lemur exhibits for those who like to get up close and personal with the animals.

The cages are clean, the area is green and nice, but most of the cages are empty, or they hide, or there are indifferent area. So most of the time we just look to see if any animal in this presentation window, and … “nop, none here, let’s try another window” 😥

Not the first time, but we keep going there as it is significant, family-friendly, and children are growing and want to learn more about animals. it is also, a perfect quite place for adults to refresh their knowledge and learn more about animals and insects like butterflies. in personal level I loved the butterflies tube. The children love playing with penguins.

Why is smoking allowed inside the zoo? Most people clearly come here with kids. Additionally, the smoking area is stupidly placed right next to the outdoor table and chairs by the restaurant, so myself (pregnant) and child are forced to inhale whilst having lunch. People should absolutely not be allowed to smoke here.

  • 4/5 Loreta S. 9 months ago on Google
The Zoo had a lot of animals but because their habit was big and wide ( which is good for them), we weren't able to see them good as either they were too far to be seen or they were sleeping. You need a lot of time to come around the zoo, so be well prepared 🙂. There are a lot of places to rest as well

  • 4/5 Maurice 9 months ago on Google
Came here in February and had a very underwhelming experience for the zoo of such a massive city like London. Poor layout and small exhibits however there were a lot of works being carried out so maybe this will improve. There is a good variety of animals and perhaps summer atmosphere would improve experience also.

  • 5/5 Joanna 9 months ago on Google
Anyone who gives this place a bad review is delusional. It’s kept well, the staff are nice and animals clearly very happy and well looked after. They’re safe. And the adult only nights are fantastic, I go with my husband every year and it’s better and better each time. It’s quite something to go round to see the animals with a drink in hand and without the screeching and running children.

  • 3/5 Ragnar J. 9 months ago on Google
I must say, that I was a little bit disappointed. The zoo is pretty big and there is a lot to see. When I got to the park I got a map to follow. But this map is not really clear and it would be a good idea to put up more signs that you could follow. We spent way too much time wondering where we were and how we should go through the park. Also I think the price is too high.

  • 4/5 Gavin T. 8 months ago on Google
Definitely worth a visit. Some great exhibits especially the penguins, butterflies, lemurs and Galapolis tortoises. Some exhibits I felt could be made better to mimic the natural habitats. The zebra and giraffe exhibits lacked grass and other vegetation. The zoo could do with better signage, the map didn't match the layout well.

  • 3/5 lola a. 8 months ago on Google
Very fun day activity, loved seeing all the animals. I recommend that you plan appropriately as the weather conditions will determine how many animals will be out. They also had a lot of animals ‘moving’ so a lot of them weren’t out. There are a few options for food but as expected, they are quite pricey for the quality.

  • 4/5 Renee 8 months ago on Google
Great zoo LOVED the butterfly enclosure and penguins but a few areas over grown with no animals in the enclosures. Also the leaves on the gorilla enclosure are not helpful for viewing and I’m sure make no difference to the gorillas. The food choice was fairly poor for people just wanting a small healthy lunch not a massive creamy sandwich or hot fried meal.

  • 5/5 Aarti N. 8 months ago on Google
What an amazing place. It's definitely better than "zoo". We went on a rainy day and still had fun. Online tickets are cheaper. The price seems too much but still worth it. How else was I going to see Penguins, Giraffes, Otters, Gorillas and what not! It's free for over 65, students and disabled btw! P.S. Lions were missing

Would recommend the adult evenings at the zoo well worth the money and the trip up to London had a fantastic time and got some fantastic pictures the talks given by keepers were really interesting and informative. The butterflies were amazing. Would definitely go and do it again.

  • 4/5 Joel P. 7 months ago on Google
London Zoo is a great afternoon out, and it’s hard to believe it’s in such a central location in Regent’s Park. It’s well kept and maintained, and they seem to keep investing in new environments for the animals and renewing older enclosures which is good to see. Some of the highlights of my recent visit include the apes, the tigers and lions, and the penguins too. There is plenty of information and talks on the animals, and it’s a surprisingly large zoo considering it’s location. The zoo can get busy, especially on a weekend, so be prepared for crowds. The food options around the zoo are standard visitor attraction offerings, and they are quite expensive, so it maybe worth factoring that into your visit.

  • 5/5 Noctaluca 7 months ago on Google
I went to one of the London Zoo nights. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Its 18+ only as there are pop up bars with drinks. The pop up food vendors are excellent also but the queues did get a bit long. Loads to do and plenty of entertainment with talks, games, and a tour. The animals were still about and active in the evening. It was an altogether more relaxed, calm and quiet zoo trip.

  • 5/5 pietro p. 7 months ago on Google
Lovely zoological garden, very sensible with the animals welfare and with a great variety of unusual creatures. Definitely a must for everyone who loves nature and wants to disconnect from the chaos of central London. Not super cheap, but definitely affordable for a great day out (especially if you bring your own food and drinks)... Absolutely great for a day out with kids!

  • 5/5 Amanda I. 7 months ago on Google
We had a lovely day, there are a number of enclosures that you walk through in which the animals are free to roam around you. We had a lemur at our feet at one point. Definitely make sure you go through the tunnel to the other side of the zoo too as here you can walk through a monkey aviary.

  • 4/5 Rijk van R. 7 months ago on Google
I'm not a big fan of zoos in general, but London Zoo is worth popping in to. If you plan on going there more than once a year, it would be worth considering an annual ticket. Buy your tickets online to save yourself some time. Please keep in mind that you are going to view animals, and they may choose to stay hidden away - so you may not see as much as you had hoped for.

We visited on Friday and had a fantastic day out at London Zoo. The zoo is clean and tidy, the animals enclosures are well sized and the animals look well cared for. Everyone that works with the animals seemed very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. They have some great interactive exhibits like the walk through lemur, monkey, butterflies and the orb weaver spider walkthrough which was especially interesting. We ate at the restaurant and had cakes and hot drinks. The cakes were pretty dry and the coffee was terrible so I wouldn't recommend the food but you can bring your own. The gift shop was reasonably priced, especially for London and stocked a large amount of gift items. We had a pretty long and enjoyable day here and would definitely come back again, especially for another close encounter with a sloth. A great family day out. I think we spent around 7 hours here.

I visited the London Zoo with my family, and it turned out to be a fantastic day out. Both of my kids had an absolute blast and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was definitely a great day spent together! “Highly Recommended”

We bought tickets online on the same day using the universal discount. The zoo is not what I expected, low key, relaxed and quite compact. Animals were on their best behaviour and we saw a few. Food prices are as expected. We ran out of time as we were due home back to Yorkshire. Enjoyed it.

A day well spent. Beautiful, graceful, charming animals, though some of them were difficult to find, perhaps because of the relocations in progress. Excellent amenities including cafes and toilets. Very polite and helpful staff.

  • 4/5 Hannes T. 6 months ago on Google
Great, albeit comparatively expensive, zoo. You can tell it cares about the animal's habitats. Clean, interesting, varied. Sadly, many "night" and reptilian areas were out of order due to moving them. All in all, I'd recommend a visit if you love animals and can ignore or cope with the often loud and inconsiderate fellow visitors with toddlers.

  • 4/5 Miles M. 6 months ago on Google
Can't really compare to Whipsnade which I would describe as a wildlife park with loads of space. However whilst much smaller, the enclosures here are not bad and you can see that the animals are well looked after. I don't begrudge the entry price, maintaining a Zoo is a very costly business that goes well beyond just feeding the animals. Plenty to see here and good facilities, you can even hire mobility scooters. There's a bit of luck involved in seeing some of the animals like the Tigers/Lions who often disappear into hidden shaded areas.

  • 5/5 Robert R. 6 months ago on Google
I have visited London Zoo many times over the years, and went back recently for the first time in a long time, and wow, what an experience! Right in the heart of the city, it's like a little oasis of wildlife wonders. I was particularly impressed by the Rainforest Lookout; it felt like stepping into another world. And the penguin exhibit? Absolute fun watching them waddle and dive! The staff were friendly and seemed genuinely passionate about their work. It's clear the zoo places a strong emphasis on conservation, with plenty of educational signs throughout. Great spot for both kids and adults. If you're in London, it's a must-see!

  • 4/5 CHEUNG Y. 6 months ago on Google
A lot of the animals are either sleeping or hiding in their lairs so they can't be seen most of the times, for example, the lions. However, the zoo is big enough to accommodate a wide variety of exotic animals, with some facilities allowing visitors to interact with them up close like lemurs and goats. Tickets for adults cost £29. I think it's worth it.

  • 4/5 Diana G. 4 months ago on Google
Overall a good day out with the children. You can definitely spend up to 6h in there. Going in summer or warm climate it's best as the animal hide during cold weather.

Amazing visit and so many extra activities arranged for kids. Lots of various animals to see. However, many were not on site, and yet areas were open to enter, wasting the time for visitors.

I love the London zoo, I’ve been four times. The staff are friendly and the animals are so cool. The food is pretty expensive so I recommend bringing your own (they let you bring it in).

Our family had a lovely day. Some areas seemed a little sparse…(as in a lack of animals) but I’ll put it down to it being a rainy day, perhaps some animals were keeping warm in their enclosures’. The zoo seemed a comfortable size for a days visit. Be prepared to walk a lot. The cafeteria was also good, a decent size but over priced. Staff could have been a little friendlier.

The London zoo is located in Camden/ Regent’s Park, with Primrose Hill close by. The zoo is accessible via the outer circle (Regent’s Park). The closest tube station is Camden Town, Baker Street or Chalk Farm or you simply hop on a bus (88, 274). There is a huge parking lot in front of the zoo too. You can either buy tickets on the day or you pre-book your ticket. They have lots of membership options available if you plan to return more often. Children under the age of 2 go for free and children/ adults with additional needs qualify for a companion ticket. The zoo is divided into two parts connected with two tunnels. You can find all sorts of animals in the zoo. However, the creepy crawlers center is the best. You can even walk with the spiders. They have all sorts of activity packs for children, and have seasonal workshops that are free of charge once you purchase a ticket. Check out the time slots for shows or download the zoo app. There are lots of food and coffee options. They have a big canteen offering fresh food. It is a bit more expensive though. They have lots of options to warm up baby bottles or heat up food in the microwave free of charge. The zoo staff is very helpful and friendly and are happy to support with everything. There are lots of indoor places in case of rain. There is a souvenir shop at the very end before leaving the zoo. You can obviously use the exit without going through the shop, which is quite nice if you come here often. I can highly recommend the zoo to everyone no matter the age!

During our recent visit to London Zoo, we had an absolutely wonderful time at this attraction. We spent roughly four hours exploring the place and covered about 3 miles on foot. What I found particularly helpful was the condensed layout of the site, especially compared to other places like Whipsnade. It allowed us to move quickly between different areas, making the most of our time. One of the standout features was the spider exhibit. What sets it apart is the ability to actually walk in and observe the spiders up close. No glass panels separating us, just an open and immersive experience. It was a rare and fascinating opportunity. The giraffes were another highlight of our visit. They're simply amazing creatures. The way they were showcased was beautiful and it's clear that a lot of thought goes into making the visit enjoyable. In summary, our time at this attraction was nothing short of delightful. It's a condensed and engaging experience, making it perfect for those looking to make the most of their visit to London in a relatively short amount of time.

Took the kids on Sunday 12th Nov. Was a little bit wet and cold so most of the Animals where in hibernation but we saw plenty. Bring your own snacks especially for kids as you will save a lot. They have a Café that serves limited Hot and Cold food for all dietary requirements and Hot and cold drinks. They supply a microwave to warm up food and baby milk if required. There tea of small cafes along the way to buy snacks and food as well. There is a petting farm and a small play area as well as featured Penguin Show which is fun for kids. Will definitely would come again in the Spring time to avoid over crowing. They provide Wheelchair assistance, easy to get around the park. Place is definitely designed for family outing for all ages. We bought Tickets as we had an offer. If you're on Universal Credit/State Pension you would be able to apply for free ticket. There is parking Pay and Display outside Park entrance simple to travel to on London Transportation. All and all a great place to experience.

We had a fab day out at London zoo. There are so many things to see. We got 2-4-1 tickets via the days out website. We spent 6 hours in the zoo. Great value for money. The walk through enclosures were great, as you got to see the monkeys/insects close up.

I visited yesterday, and it's an amazing place to spend an entire day with your family. Children's happy place is London Zoo. There were mild showers, which was exciting. There are so many animals to see. It also has a gift shop, which is an additional treat for children. Overall, happy place!

Overall my experience was good.It was a cold day so the animals were a bit less interested but it was pleasure to watch them doing their own thing. The place was clean and well managed , we had maps to navigate and this is preferred as people were lost moving around same place who did not have map with them. Me and my partner enjoyed our day overall.

I had a great time arrived 10:30am and left 3:30. Staff are friendly. And the food is good too. They are plenty of different animals to see obviously. For the price I believe it was money well spent. I recommend it.

Absolutely lovely trip with the family!.. due to cold winter conditions the zoo was quiet and we were able to walk around and enjoy more peacefully. Most animals were indoors due to the cold but we were still able to see them very well. Lion roaring at the end of the trip was the highlight
