This
was
our
second
time
at
Coin
&
Candor
(for
dinner),
and
we
won't
be
going
back
for
a
while.
This
is
just
a
review
for
their
dinner
service;
we
occasionally
go
for
brunch
and
find
that
to
be
a
much
better
meal.
The
fresh
bread
is
always
amazing,
the
forbidden
rice
is
a
textual
&
flavor
wonderland,
and
the
drinks
were
tasty
and
relatively
strong.
But
beyond
that,
the
meal
was
actually
pretty
bad.
My
wife's
chicken
was
overcooked
and
bone
dry.
My
"wagyu"
strip
was
incredibly
tough
and
had
practically
no
intramuscular
marbling.
I've
had
plenty
of
wagyu
steaks
in
the
past
few
years
(even
a
few
that
were
from
this
particular
ranch,
Snake
River
Farms),
and
whatever
they
served
me
definitely
wasn't
wagyu
or
any
variant
of
it;
the
cut
was
probably
choice.
I
ordered
it
medium,
because
generally
a
super
fatty
cut
like
wagyu
tends
to
need
a
little
more
temp
to
render
all
that
fat
(normally
I
would
go
for
a
medium
rare),
but
it
was
served
closer
to
well
done.
We
also
got
a
side
of
the
cabbage,
which
was
a
complete
disaster.
It
was
acrid,
bitter,
and
burnt
tasting
without
having
any
real
flavor
profile
to
speak
of.
Our
server
was
also
very
mediocre,
but
the
rest
of
the
service
staff
was
really
great,
so
I'm
not
docking
an
additional
star
for
that.
Overall,
when
I'm
spending
nearly
$300
on
two
drinks
and
a
meal,
there
are
a
million
better
places
to
do
it.
Sure,
this
was
better
than
fast
food,
but
for
the
price
I'd
rather
go
to
Moody
Rooster
or
any
number
of
similar
joints
where
you
can
get
amazing
food
for
quite
a
bit
less.
